Northgate Fish Bar in Crawley

All I can say is that without doubt this was the best fish & chips I’ve ever eaten. The batter on the fish was crispy and not at all greasy. The fish itself was certainly large and perfectly cooked. It was beautifully light and tender and tasted delicious. The chips were also excellent with just the right amount of crispness and with a fluffy texture inside. They were also not too greasy. All in all I can’t recommend The Northgate Fish Bar highly enough 😋

Every time I go the fish and chips are the best I tasted in a long time. Also the prep area and kitchen is very clean. I don’t say that often as come from a food background and food hygiene is so important. Well done and keep it up.

Love this chippy, it’s been my failsafe over the past few years. The portions are really generous. The fish is always fresh and perfectly cooked all the way through with lovely crispy golden batter. Chips are thick cut but still crispy. All really clean and tidy inside, lovely staff. Can highly recommend.

Tried most places in Crawley this is easily my favourite. Chips crunchy and fresh. Cod bites awesome. Service good, price reasonable.

Cannot fault the food and service, fish was cooked fresh to order and chips were fantastic, the service was very friendly and price was very reasonable. Easy location to find and large car park at front of shop, will definitely come again!

Excellent cod and chips !!! Not had nice cod and chips for a while. Cod is nice and flakey in a light and crispy batter........ chips nice and well fried. Freshly fried in clean oil. A MUST TRY !!!

We moved to the local area a few years ago and enjoy a fish and chip supper from a proper 'Chippy' at least once a month. We decided to try all the reasonably accessible chips in town these included Pound Hill, Southgate, West Green, Tilgate to name a few. I then heard from a friend about Northgate Fish Bar and whilst it was awkward to navigate across town from where we live (roadworks have now cleared thankfully) What a revelation that was... perfectly cooked fish served with a fresh slice of lemon which slid off the greaseproof without a trace of oil. Massive portion sizes, chips are always fresh, piping hot, golden and crisp. The owner is a lovely welcoming man from Kurdistan (I think?) always has a smile on his face and kind word, I've introduced numerous friends from far and wide and they all agree it's fantastic food and great value (we regularly order for 5-7 adults and that comes in about £50).
