Went for breakfast with one of my employees this morning. In his words " it was spot on" The big breakfast lived up to its name. It was not greasy at all and everything you would want on a breakfast. None of it was cheap crap either. Had lovely late with it. The staff were really friendly and it was a cool clean venue to eat.

After receiving a flyer at work we decided to give it a go and I am glad we did! The sandwiches are exceptional! The soup is homemade and very fresh and some of the best I have ever had! We have also just had a corporate buffet at work which was amazing good value for money and went down a treat with everyone. Highly recommended

Northern Relish is a cafe and takeaway on a busy business park and was a welcome haven whilst getting our car serviced, as there is not much else in the area and we were on foot. We got a warm welcome from the staff as we walked in, proper northern friendliness. There are no vegan options labelled on the menu, but they did a great sounding houmous filling for sandwiches, which you could also have on a jacket potato. I placed my order with a lady who I think was the owner, she was very helpful especially about allergies and double checked things to make sure I was happy. We ordered two houmous maximus wraps with a tea and Americano coffee and I was pleased you got a big mug, not a small cup you drink in a flash. The wrap was a generous portion, with perfectly roast vegetables, fresh salad and houmous, I could not fault it and with the tea, was quickly demolished and enjoyed. The covid precautions in place were excellent too, track and trace on entry, hand sanitiser available, staff wearing masks, well spaced tables and table service, we felt very safe. There was a constant stream of people entering for takeaways or dining in the cafe. Would definitely return if back in the area.

We visited a few weeks ago with the intention of having a bite to eat and firstly ordered some hot drinks. Upon asking what sizes Small and Large were, the young man serving picked up a cup, looked at it and said ‘I think this is the small one’. We then ordered a green tea, which the same man had to ask another member of staff how to make it. The drinks were brought over to us at the table, but both tea’s were swimming in the saucers as they had been spilt in transit. The place was empty too, which made for a slightly uncomfortable visit. We chose not to order food and left soon after. We thanked the staff as we left and said goodbye, but didn’t receive a reply. A little more training and attention to customers would certainly improve this place.

Whilst having to wait for a couple of hours to collect a car, We decided to have a spot of lunch. A local directed us to Northern Relish. On entering the friendly staff told us they had Ham & Cheese Pie with chips and mushy peas (proper Lancashire) as lunch special. It was out of this world !!! Without exception - the best I had ever tasted. Perfect balance of ham to cheese and a lovely crust. Tea was served in a proper mug, not some silly little cup. Their sandwiches and other take outs also looked delicious. A hidden gem. I know where I shall eat in Nelson.

This is the second time I have left disappointed! Food was bland, everybody commented about the pizzas having very little cheese and toppings on them. We ordered some drinks after our meal which took 45 minutes to come! There were two other small tables in and nobody at the bar so the hold up was unnecessary. We complained to the staff but they weren’t bothered at all and was merely apologetic. The restaurant had an awful sewage smell as well just to top it off. Will not be returning.

We went to the cafe bistro for dinner and I could say 1 nice thing about the cafe the staff were nice and that is it. The sausages were cooked in the microwave and the jacket potatoes cooked in the microwave with a cheese slice melted on top. I can honestly say it is the worst cafe we have been to especially with the premium price tag. We paid £37 for food warmed up in the microwave!
