Beautiful spot. Free entry to this pretty water garden where you can see otters at play and enjoy walks lakeside. If you visit in the spring you will be surrounded by the magnificent colours of rhododendrons that flank the lakes from ground to sky. Enjoy the golden carp in the pond by the famous Dutch Pancake shop whilst taking in some refreshments. A real little jewel in the Conwy valley.

After a walk around the (free) water gardens we decided to have lunch here. With a very charming and helpful lady owner this is quite a unique experience which we really enjoyed. There is a good selection of toppings both sweet and savoury in a medium or large size. We both chose medium and while I chose cheese and bacon my husband chose apple, cinnamon, cream and rum and raisin ice cream toppings. They were made to order and we both thoroughly enjoyed them and if in the area again will certainly make a return visit. We thought they were very reasonably priced too.

It was advertised to us online as Otters and pancakes, however, don’t let the photos fool you as there were no otters or capybaras to be seen. The pancakes were okay. They did have a good selection but it did look like they were only cooked on the one side. They were very busy but it took them around half an hour if not longer to bring out our food. It is a fair price at around £8 for a small and £10 for a large pancake. They offer sweet and savoury options as well as drinks and scones. If you want to go for a pancake then it is what it says on the tin. However, we mainly went as it was shown there were otters in the water gardens but there weren’t. We did see some birds and chickens but that was it.

Lovely place, plenty of choice of toppings for pancakes, I had Ham, cheese, and pineapple savoury, my first ever savory pancake, would definitely have it again, at home steep prices but yummy 😋 The entrance into the building is quite very steep or steps. There were a few young kids in who were in and out all the time, to the pond with fish in it,and the door kept banging loud, which spoilt it and obviously parents weren't going g out with the kids to the pond which I found scary and dangerous.

Possibly the rudest service I have ever experienced in an eatery. We were told extremely brusquely (accompanied by a poke to my shoulder which was unexpected and unnecessary) to sit with our chairs tucked in further because the waitress felt there was insufficient room to pass between our table and the dessert cabinet and fish tank that had been placed in the middle of the space; seeing as we were sitting very normally and comfortably and none of us are enormous, this is a layout fault not something customers should be berated about. The food was slapped down with pretty bad grace by the same waitress and we had to politely chase some of the order which had clearly been forgotten - we chose the pleasant waiter for this task rather than the rude waitress. The only people the waitress was polite to in our party were our children; we should be grateful for that at least I guess. It wasn't especially busy (several free tables) so it was hard to excuse on the basis of being busy and frazzled. The food was disappointing - it's poor value for what you get and not particularly flavoursome either. We would have given them the benefit of the doubt and tried some sweet options as a pudding had the service not been so dreadful but I'm afraid none of us was minded to give them any more business at that point. The crowning glory was the fact my 6 year old had chosen an extra topping for his pancake which attracted an extra charge to the children's set menu (absolutely fair enough) but he wasn't actually hungry enough to eat the dessert included in the set price and so we didn't order it. They still charged the set price (completely fair) and the extra topping charge, which was mean in the circumstances- again, had the service been good we probably wouldn't have been too fussed, but it just added to the sense that customer service is very far down their list of priorities. Water Gardens are a nice enough walk but are pretty run down. All in all, a very disappointing outing to a place we'd been looking forward to visiting. I grew up in the area and my parents still live locally and there are many more places with better food and better service to spend your time and money.

We were so excited for this. We were on a caravan holiday with the kids and the dog and were looking for days out. When we stumbled across this place online there was no question that this was what we wanted to do. When we arrived there were toilets right next to the carpark which is always a winner. We then went on the nature trail. A turtle, some ducks, chickens... 15 minutes later... DONE. Lot of derelict pens. Otters and other animals are no longer there. Miniature ducks must have been really small because our human eyes could not find them. They had some nice wire sculptures dotted around but that was it. Certainly not a family day out. Can't comment on the Dutch Pancake House as we had the dog but the Water Gardens are definitely not worth the travel time or displaced excitement.

Visited here on a Saturday afternoon, it was fairly busy however we were shown to a table quite quickly. I ordered an cheese and ham omelette and my partner ordered a savoury pancake. My omelette came which was very plain, a small amount of cheese and a few tiny pieces of ham. I would have expected slices of ham and not tiny little chunks. My partners savoury pancake was incredibly thin and lacking fillings. At over £6 for one single pancake and £7 for a small, filling less omelette I found it to be very expensive. We came away quite hungry and with a bill of over £20 with drinks. Strange atmosphere and location.

I am a big pancake fan, so this was the perfect place to go, their pancakes were so tasty and fluffy. You can have sweet or savory (personally I went for sweet because I don't enjoy savory pancakes) but they all looked and smelt lovely. Hugely disappointing. I phoned to book as I'd been advised that was best, I explained we had an assistance dog and they said on the phone that there was an outside area we could sit in. My autistic adult daughter does find it hard to sit outside so we did explain. She was still excited about the pancakes. We arrived and the first chap was grumpy and said no dogs, I said that was fine and could we just walk through to the garden (our dog had his assistance dog harness on and my daughter her lanyard) very grumpily he said they were not even allowed through the pancake house we had to use the back gate that says 'no entry' (very difficult for an autistic person). There was no one inside the pancake house thankfully as it was embarrassing. We walked round to the pretty garden but my daughter was having a meltdown and felt extremely sad at how we were treated (I must say its very rare these days). The second server was a lot more friendly and got a dog bowl which helped my daughter feel wanted. The pancakes were ok but don't think you're getting anything like the desert shop treats you get in town centres - it's just a pancake with some bananas chopped on and sauce!! Overall a disappointing place. As for the rest of the place I'll cover that in those reviews but it was just dismal - the only thing that was well looked after were the aquatics and fish centre.

Went there and they said they had vegan options. They didn't have any non-dairy milk so pancakes were made with water and I wasn't able to have a cup of tea. Staff informed me they could turn any pancake vegan but didn't have any vegan topping options. Would not recommend if you have dietary requirements. Frustrating experience due to staff setting expectations that weren't met. Also, non-dairy milk is widely available to buy and using that would allow vegans/dairy intolerant people to have better quality food and drink. I hope this place looks to improve to cater to all customers.

STAY AWAY! Shocking service. SLOW. Rude staff (man and young girl). Had to ask twice to be served and after half an hour we finally placed our drinks order. Another table came in after got served before us and had eaten and left before we’d got our food. Complained to owner and she was unprofessional and couldn’t have cared less. Treated me like I was in the wrong and begrudgingly gave 10% off the bill. Wasn’t interested in the problems and made excuses and had the audacity to say I was wasting her time when she should be serving others… wow. Pathetic. Needless to say would never return.

Visiting the Water Gardens, we opted to stop for lunch at the Dutch Pancake House. As it was the Easter Weekend, we booked ahead to reserve a table - rammed into the corner with no view, we found out when we arrived and was told its all they had. Slow service, but the waitresses were friendly enough. Allergies including Gluten-Free accounted for on a wide-ranging menu. Pancakes were OK, but not what i would call very 'Dutch' in taste. Over-priced pancakes for what they were. Glad we gave it a try, supporting small Welsh businesses, but not sure if we would go back.

We turned up without prebooking, and were very lucky to get a table. The place was full of families enjoying a superb lunch from the extensive menu. The food is of very high quality, and the portions are large. I had the large omelette with cheese and onion, my partner had the medium ham, leek & cheese pancake. For dessert I had a massive banana split and my partner the Dutch sweet pancake (pancake, cherry compote, whipped cream, ive cream & cinnamon. Both mains and desserts were absolutely delicious. We also had a pot of tea, a latte and a hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream. At £40, the price was very fair considering the service, food quality and flavour and the friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Nice gentle walk around the Nature Trail. Children enjoyed feeding the Ducks and seeing the Otters. Staff in the Pancake House were very welcoming. There were 5 adults and 6 children, we had booked separately, but staff were very accommodating, put us all to sit together. Staff were also very patient with taking a large order. We didn’t have to wait long, and everyone one enjoyed their pancakes.

First time customers at The Harp as were in Abergele. I krdered fish pie of the specials board and the wife had a sandwich and a portion of chips. Wow, the fish pie was the best I have ever had, just sublimine. The wife's freshly made sandwich looked fabulous and she said it was delicious, then the chips, another wow. Proper real home made chips cooked to perfection. I can be fussy with pub and restaurant food, usually due to it being rubbish that is overly expensive and not home cooked. The Harps food was exceptional, so good in fact we booked a table for next weekend as we need to be in Abergele again. Staff were very good, service was very good and the food stolen the show. A very pleasant change.

I had a lovely brekkie here, it was awesome, 2 lovely ladies working here are lots of fun and nothing is too much trouble, since the high street has many places closing down, there is a distinct lack of cafes for a good breakfast, so this is a great place to get what you want, i will be back here when im working or playing in the bay,,,,, thanks . .. ,,

A very underwhelming visit! Service was great, loads of staff, possibly too many but still, all were happy and helpful and very engaging yet not in your face! Restaurant/cafe itself is well decorated and presented, clean and tidy and actually looks quite good, as we entered I had higher expectations given the staff welcome and look of the place. The food was actually quite basic and didn't seem to fit the venue if that makes sense. 3 meals ordered, a kids cheese sandwhich, a prawn sandwhich and a bacon cheeseburger. The sandwiches were very basic, just regular sliced bread bit plenty of filing, the kids meal coming as just a sarnie and crisps....so not really a meal I guess. The burger was nice but seemed a bit dry but only just. We had chunky chips with the burger....not a good idea. As they were chunky, they were not cooked through and were marginally undercooked. You could tell the food was frozen too! We ordered 3 drinks, 1 earl grey and 2 milkshakes, given the presentation of the site we thought maybe a shake would have been something quite thick with cream and sauce etc but no....it was just milk and flavour....akin to a nesquick. Overall, underwhelming but not a bad place. If there was improvement in food I'd definately visit again!
