We tried the food for the first time last month and the food was great, freshly cooked very tasty and well presented. The waiters were attentive and service overall was good. Overall a good meal and great value we will certainly be going back.

Very nice food, we had the karahi chicken and dal tarka and it was cooked to perfection. The service was good and atmosphere relaxing. Good value for money. Well worth a visit

Went in this Evening had a beautiful meal with my partner, The place was quite and relaxing, Staff couldn't do enough for us, And the food was lovley. We will be back and would definitely recommend if your in the area.

We had starters and main courses, and everything was delicious. Friendly staff as well. We'll definitely come back here one more time before leaving the area.

Low quality and I suspect overcharged. Ordered 2 mains, some sides, 2 poppadoms a j20 and tap water. Charged £5 for the poppadoms, and £5 for the ‘drinks’?? We were the only ones in there (on a Saturday night!?) and just wanted to leave so just paid and left but wish I’d made more of a fuss about it. Think many of the reviews are fake as the restaurant was empty and the food was below average.

Admittedly I'm probably a spoilt londoner used to having great Indian food wherever I look, but SWEET JESUS AND MARY this was bad. I thought I'd ordered a curry but what arrived was what I can only describe as the result of some kind of nuclear accident involving assorted animal remains, melted playdough, massive lumps of onion and tomato in a sea of yellowy goo which has been heated to the temperature of boiling magma with a naan bread bought from the spar next door. I've never seen red chicken before. I still have no idea what that was in those malevolent tin foil containers, but they were still piping hot hen they landed in the bin outside. I have questions, but I'm not not sure I want to know the answers. Avoid, avoid, AVOID.

Was really disappointed this time round. I’ve never been let down by the clock house previously. Ordered 2 kormas, 2 mixed grill starter. Starters were great as usual unfortunately the 2 kormas were really bland and lacked any real flavour which is really out of character for this venue. Started questioning my own taste buds until I ate something else which tasted fine. Hopefully they address the issue as like previously said all other orders have been spot on.

After trying venue in February we were impressed, however the standard of this meal was no where near as good. The poppadoms weren’t eaten as you could smell the rancid oil they had been cooked in on opening the bag. We did not think for the £45 we paid that it was worth it.

Tried again as we wondered if it was a one off with look warm food , but no things hadn’t changed, smelt damp which put you off your food , food not great, come on (owner) it’s time for a refurbishment carpets painting and new lay out of tables and chairs, love a buffet but you need to get a different chef in, go out and visit some other Indian restaurants to see how they do it , sorry won’t be coming back until you have a refurb

Probably the worst restaurant i have ever been to. When we walked in the place smelt of damp. I am struggling to figure out where the people who have rated this place " the best Indian in Wales" have actually eaten as it certainly wasn't at The Venue @ The clock house. The food is tasteless could definitely need more flavour, staff looked like the need real training, we had no choice but to stick around and eat, at the end the owner charged for tap water, I couldn’t believe it, we ordered a jug of water and was charged. I politely challenged the owner, but didn’t push it as something inside me said pay it and leave a review. In 47 years of traveling and eating out iv never been charged for tap water.. AVOID

We live in an apartment and the delivery was left down stairs by the front door. No attempt was made to bring it to the actual apartment number on the order. Shocking service from just eat. Restaurant was unable to help so I wouldn’t advise people use this app as a delivery service as the restaurant can’t contact driver or give you any contact details. Absolutely shocking service from just eat.

I continue to eat here as the staff are friendly and contine to adjust the food to my liking as I do enjoy spicy food from here, the chef is highly experienc and happy to alter dishes to suit your taste. l recommend this restaurant as its the best Indian restaurants around here.

This rates as one of the worst meals I’ve had the misfortune to eat.1 star given because I couldn’t give less,hopefully the local hospital is open tomorrow I may need it,the staff were quite pleasant but that’s the only positive comment I can leave.Avoid this place as I will from now on and have fish and chips as a better option

Quite possibly the worst restaurant let alone Indian restaurant i have ever been to. It was a massive red flag when we walked in and we were the only ones there and the place smelt of damp. Did not scream authentic Indian restaurant and the name certainly doesn't sound indian. We were offered the all you can eat buffet for £21 which we decided to go for. The starters were edible. You had supermarket style mini onion bhaji, tandoori chicken pieces that were dry and cold chips. For the main, there was a selection of Currys. To say they were lacking in flavour is an understatement. I would say that there was more flavour if i had gone outside and licked the pavement.. there was no spice to any of them ( even the ones that said "hot". The temperature of the food not hot and probably wasn't at the legal holding temperature of 63.c or above... i am struggling to figure out where the people who have rated this place " the best Indian in Wales" have actually eaten as it certainly wasn't at The Venue @ The clock house.

Very tasty. Chilli chicken extra spicy I asked for and it was just that. Very pleasant delivery man and exactly on time. Unlike others, he brought it to my front door in flats, which others locally just don’t do. Will order again sometime in the future. 🌶️

Giving one star as that is the least available option. Otherwise any number of negative stars would have been a far sensible choice. We had an extremely unpleasant experience at this so called restaurant. The staff seemed to be in a filthy mood, extremely unfriendly, rude and they mistreated and disrespected us very much. We had ordered one vegetable biryani between 2 people (as we were not very hungry), the waiter almost forced us to order more but we resisted. When we asked a query about one of the items from the menu card, the waiter gave answer in a manner as if we are fools and do not know anything. And here's the most shocking part. The vegetable biryani was served with an egg omlette on top of it. When we told the waiter that we wanted just a normal vegetable biryani, he became angry at us and furiously went in the kitchen and again came back after 5 mins and began serving a new biryani (now without omlette on top of it). When I began clarifying with him whether this was again freshly prepared or he just removed the omlette on top of it, he again became very angry at us, removed our plates from the table and told us in a authoritative tone 'We do not want to serve you'. And then we just walked away as we did not want ourselves to get more demeaned. In this manner, we were highly disrespected by the restaurant staff just for wanting to clarify whether our biryani was freshly prepared or not. I would rather die hungry even if one day this remains the only restaurant on the planet.

Food arrived piping hot, and was so fresh and tasty. Curry wasn't watery at all, which we've found from other local curry places. Also the best peshawari naan I've ever had! Will definitely order from here again

Went to have light meal with family. The person who came to take order was rude and make us to hurry rather than taking our time. Also asking to order minimum number of dishes which we do not want. Really bad place. Not recommending.

Got a takeaway with chapati, potato bhaji, and cucumber raita. Chapatis were made with poor quality flour and were raw. Potato bhaji was alright. Asked the person at the reception for raita with only cucumber and the guy gave me just cucumbers :D Had to again go the restaurant and explain to him in detail. The raita was then poorly made. Totally hated the place. Would never go again.

Not happy at all with this place, the chicken if definately not halal had a very strange smell. The tikka was dry and hard, the only thing any good was the chips, and dont get me started on lurch working in the front. Won't be going there again.

AVOID...DISGRACEFUL SERVICE. Booked on the phone 2 weeks in advance for the buffet for wedding anniversary with some friends. Gave name and contact number. Arrived on the night to be simply told that there was no buffet available. No apology. No attempt made to contact me earlier. They could not have cared less. We left and went to another local restaurant - The Little Indian Chef in Llandulas - which was superb. We also noticed that there was no one else eating at The Venue whereas The Little Indian Chef had around 30 customers. What does that tell you? Avoid The Venue at all costs...but can't give you a food review lol.

A quiet night in winter. We were one of only two tables in the restaurant. You can bring your own alcohol as they don't have a licence. There is a bargain booze shop across the road. We opted for vegan dishes and the owner was very helpful recommending what dishes could become vegan. Overall very tasty and if I have any criticism it would be that the portions were very large. Overall very good.

Brilliant traditional Curry House. Extremely welcoming and helpful staff. Came for takeaway but will be back repeatedly for the buffet among other things. A real asset to the area.

We came to Colwyn Bay knowing we weren't going to find very many halal spots. But we were not disappointed after finding TCH. Timeless, classic curry house with your staple dishes, as well as those you can only get from back home. I'm still dreaming of the sweet peshawari naan 🥰 A few minutes walk from the train station. Buffet or a la carte - there's a curry for all.

Bad customer service. Food not great either. Avoid. Nan like rubber. Chicken reheated which was few days old. Tasteless food. The worst customer service I've experienced ever. Waiter was rude when asked for ice in drinks and says that got no ice. Flat coke with no fizz. Place is dirty with grime all over.

Searched for an Indian cuisine restaurant and this seemed to be the only one in Colwyn Bay. I’d read mixed reviews so was t sure what to expect. There was only me and hubby and another couple in eating as it was early evening. Waiters really friendly and helpful and food came out quickly and piping hot. Our meals were absolutely delicious, best tasted in a long time (madras and balti). We hadn’t realised the restaurant does not have a license to sell alcohol - but there is a Bargain Booze right opposite so got a bottle of wine- and they charge for tap water. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and we will be returning.

We are from Delhi , India and touring UK. From London to Manchester to Wales here we had the best Indian food till now, its very tasty and served well.

Not been here for a very long time after we moved out of town I must say the food was fantastic, the service was excellent and we were treated very well by Abdul and all of his staff. We will definitely be back again.

Been to this restaurant a few times, and on each occasion we have both been delighted with the food. It is EXCELLENT and head and shoulders above other similar restaurants in the area. I would say it is as good, if ot better, than some of the restaurants on Manchester's famous Curry Mile. We choose from the main menu rather than having the buffet which is only available on Fri, Sat and Sunday. The service has always been polite and attentive but without being intrusive. We live 35 miles away, but it us well worth the journey. Give it a try. We love it

Dined here whilst on holiday, Food was incredible!! Young lad was very welcoming chatty and easy going! Atmosphere was lovely, all staff were friendly. Id definitely come back if I was in the area! Brought our own drinks due to restaurant not having a alcohol licence and they offered up glasses etc to cater.

Found this place by accident during a stop off in Colwyn Bay. Food was ok but nothing special, though the all you can eat buffet was good value.

We visited the restaurant during our holiday. While initially, looking at the ambience, we were wondering if we had made the right choice. However, the food was absolutely outstanding. When it comes to Indian food, we are not easily pleased. However here we were pleasantly surprised by the excellent taste of curries (chicken shashlik and bhima), naans and the service from Abdul! The food was prepared considering and understanding our requests about how spicy it should be. Abdul was very polite. In all a great experience! Thanks!

Horrible food you could tell the food was old and had just been reheated. Awful smell with flies all Iver the place. When asked for a high chair it came out filthy like it never had been cleaned. Avoid at all cost

After reading other reviews and recalling past visits to the Clock House, we decided to visit for what we hoped would be a fantastic curry. Sadly, everything about this visit was disappointing. The gloomy decor had not been updated since the 1970s and cleanliness was decidedly suspect, particularly the carpet. There was also an odd smell that was apparent as soon as we all entered - damp? Service was efficient enough but the food was lukewarm and lacked that something to propel it past the quality of a supermarket ready meal. One of our group was served their drink in a filthy glass. All in all, this felt very much like a business that has given up caring, such a shame.

We always get good service from Abdul and his staff when we go to the Clock house. There is great food with lots of variety and it has all been oh so tasty so far. We love going there - usually once a week or fortnight and will keep on going there. We are working our through the whole menu. We even had our wedding blessing reception at The Clock house catered for by Abdul in 2020 just before lockdown.

The food was fine but I ordered a 2L coke but got Pepsi instead (which I wasn’t bothered about) until I found out the bottle was already opened and missing some of the drink

Abdul, once again you and your wonderful staff provided us with wonderful food and company. Although not as busy as usual we interacted with some other patrons from Kent heading to Ireland and others from Leicester staying locally, telling them how great your food was (from a socially acceptable distance of course) and on leaving they came back up to us and said to me you were right, this really was great food and that they would definitely come back when next travelling through. so you have earned your 5 stars from me again because my food was delicious and your banter with us is always so very enjoyable you really make our visits memorable. Keep up the great service and things can only get better once we are completely open again. Venue at the Clock House also offers English type food for those whose diet doesn't like Curry's etc.
