Forte's Cafe Restaurant in Conwy

The food was exceptional good. But the service really let the experience down. The waitress needs to be trained properly on how to treat customers.

Beautiful Italian restaurant, right in the heart of Llangollen. The food was fantastic and the staff were all lovely, made us very welcome.

Cannot praise this restaurant enough. Best to book in advance to guarantee your table. Food excellent and staff very friendly. All in all a lovely place to eat.

Me and my wife ate here during our three night stay in Llandudno, and we have almost zero complaints. The food is excellent, with good sized portions, and all of the staff are lovely. My only gripe is that, upon viewing the desert menu, I was shocked to see that apple pie, which at every where else we’ve eaten, comes with custard, but here custard was an extra £2.75.

We go there about once a month there are 5 of us and the staff are always very happy and friendly and helpful,we have never had any complaints about anything or anyone, very happy to recommend it to everyone we know 😄😄

What lovely place to spend some time eating and sharing some time the food was good quality and very well presented and nice and warm. And even some to open the door for. Me we will be visiting again very soonx

Called here in November. Wasn't sure why it was empty at lunchtime. Then looked at the menu. £10 for egg on toast! In this day and age, people are unable to afford such crazy prices. I'm afraid this place has had its day and won't see it again unless things take a drastic turn

Called in for lunch yesterday, we decided to have the Turkey Festive Roast. Nice big slices of Turkey meat accompanied by roast potatoes, mashed potatoe, braised carrot and parsnip, sprouts, red cabbage and a large Pig in Blanket, Yorkshire pudding and a jug of Turkey gravy.This was followed by 2 lovely desserts and coffees. Staff were excellent as usual, overall a very pleasant experience.

Cosy little cafe in Llandudno, lovely food and coffee, quick service and the staff were so friendly and attentive, perfect for lunch on a cold winter day!

Over priced not the same anymore

Clean and bright with plenty of seating. Staff are super attentative and polite which is great and you dont have to wait to pay your bill you just go to the counter when you are done. Food was made with quality ingredients and tasty. Really good experience.

My husband and I recently visited this restaurant in Llandudno. We were welcomed on arrival and the staff were very pleasant. The menu was a good variation and we were not disappointed with our food. Well cooked and presented. Would definatley recommend.

I take no pleasure in writing this review of our visit today, my wife ordered braising steak which was fine I ordered the vegetarian breakfast when my breakfast arrived the yolk of one egg had something green in it the mushrooms were charred black so was the tomato. I complained to the waitress whose response was everything is freshly cooked I told her I was not happy so she said I'll fetch the manager, on arriving the manager kept uttering the same response everything is freshly cooked but I'll get you another breakfast thankfully that was OK. No apology was forthcoming, this would not have happened with the previous manager a tall gentleman. Sadly the service here has declined dramatically.

Had been recommended this restaurant by a local shop owner as a visitor to Llandudno . Went with a friend for lunch. What a pleasant experience. We were served by Paul . We were delighted with the service, food and the general ambiance of our time there. I will definitely be visiting again. What a fem of a place.

A very underwhelming visit! Service was great, loads of staff, possibly too many but still, all were happy and helpful and very engaging yet not in your face! Restaurant/cafe itself is well decorated and presented, clean and tidy and actually looks quite good, as we entered I had higher expectations given the staff welcome and look of the place. The food was actually quite basic and didn't seem to fit the venue if that makes sense. 3 meals ordered, a kids cheese sandwhich, a prawn sandwhich and a bacon cheeseburger. The sandwiches were very basic, just regular sliced bread bit plenty of filing, the kids meal coming as just a sarnie and crisps....so not really a meal I guess. The burger was nice but seemed a bit dry but only just. We had chunky chips with the burger....not a good idea. As they were chunky, they were not cooked through and were marginally undercooked. You could tell the food was frozen too! We ordered 3 drinks, 1 earl grey and 2 milkshakes, given the presentation of the site we thought maybe a shake would have been something quite thick with cream and sauce etc but no....it was just milk and flavour....akin to a nesquick. Overall, underwhelming but not a bad place. If there was improvement in food I'd definately visit again!

Nice place for eating,good menu would recomend

I had a feta and red pepper wrap. I got about 3 small pieces of feta and the same amount of pepper. Had chunky chips and they were tasteless. Partner had burger with bacon which was tasteless. Got our drink order wrong. And was expensive, and not worth the money. Nobody asked how our meal was, and if everything was OK. Went on a recommendation from a friend. Will never go back again.

First time my wife and I have used this establishment the food was lovely, the staff very friendly and will highly recommend to all we look forward to our return.

Four of us ordered the fish and chips the fish was very good however the batter was undercooked and none of us ate the chips as they were also undercooked, a sadly disappointing meal.

Quality food delivered by pleasant helpful staff in a clean and comfortable environment. Prices were very reasonable. Would be happy to eat here again the next time I am Wales.

I booked for tonight the lady that I spoke to acknowledge me when I arrive the service was excellent and the server (Madalin) was so so professional in every way thank you for making our evening. My friends were impressed as they hadn't been there before.

Had a lovely experience at Forte's while staying in Llandudno for a few days. Our waitress was so welcoming and couldn't have done more for me and my family. Getting food with children isn't always easy but this lady made them feel like they were leading the way. If we come back to Llandudno, we'll most certainly be back there.

Nice restaurant in the heart of Llandudno. It’s a bit dated, but probably suits the clientele I had fish and chips. Well cooked, big enough portions and tasty. A bit pricey for lunch. Staff and manager on duty were polite and attentive.

Visited today with my wife All staff were extremely friendly and very helpful My wife had the fish and chips with garden peas, I had the steak and ale pie with chunky chips and mushy peas Both meals were piping hot and really lovely The steak chunks in my pie were absolutely delicious, very tender and tasty, also lovely puff pastry topper My wife’s fish was also well cooked, crispy golden batter and lovely flaky fish Chunky chips also very good on both of our meals Forte’s is definitely the place to go if you are in Llandudno, we will certainly be visiting again when we are in the area Highly recommended

Friendly cafe/ restaurant with a good choice of traditional food .. pizzas, pasta, fish and chips etc. The outside does not do the cafe/restaurant justice. Outside is a little tatty and 5he outside is lovely. Clean and fresh. Staff were great especially with the children with us. We were a party of 11 adults and 4 children. The chef came out to check our food was ok … nice touch.

Fortes were BRILLIANT, welcoming, kind & considerate. They welcomed us with open arms and the food was lovely. The disabled toilets were clean and on the same level as the restaurant. The atmosphere was very relaxed, ALL of the team were EXCELLENT. They were very accommodating as one of our party had a mobility scooter. Nothing was too much trouble. The decor & cleanliness were the gold standard. Fortes is a real asset to Llandudno. Katrina especially looked after us and made us feel like family, she deserves a bonus!!

Visited with my mum for an evening meal mid week, the restaurant has plenty of tables with booths that almost have a 50s diner look. Staff were all polite and friendly. We had been out in the heat all day so I wasn't very hungry when we visited and struggled to eat all my rarebit, not because of the food but just due to me not feeling 100%. Prices reasonable.

Ate here several lunchtimes. Great experience each time.

Fortes was a place my sisters and found half way through our holiday in llandudno it was so good we frequently went there the food was amazing and so was the staff including a young lady from Portugal nothing was too much trouble if I could give 6 stars I would

The customer service here was excellent, nothing was too much for them. They moved chairs around so we had as much space as we needed. The breakfast was top-notch and we would recommend to everyone.

Lovely friendly cafe / restaurant, spotlessly clean. The Lasagne was about the best I've had anywhere very tasty, home made and a very good helping. Friendly efficient service by Anna. So good a place, we've booked again for tomorrow! The ice creams they serve here and at the ice cream parlour down the road are highly recommended

Called in for a coffee and the service and professional feel in there was just to good not to have a meal there. Food was great and hardly await for it considering its a medium/large restaurant. Are waitress was ace and I'd have no problem going back. Thanks forte's 👍

Beautiful and well lit cafe, the staff were so friendly and were lovely to have a chat with. The sandwiches were really tasty and the drinks were great. Definitely worth going if you're stuck for somewhere to have a snack!

Really a nice restaurant. Food was fresh and very tasty. We ate there for lunch. The cinnamon, apple & raisin crepe with ice cream was amazing. Servicers were very nice and attentive to our request. We plan to go back for dinner. Highly recommend.

Light lunch in Llandudno, Forte's didn't disappoint: Breakfast wrap, seafood medley and banana crepe were all good, service was excellent - attentive but not overly or too quick to clear. Atmosphere was a little noisy and as we sat in the window adjacent to the door (table 1) on a lovely sunny day the cigarette smoke from patrons on the outside tables wafted inside occasionally, but that's a minor niggle and we'd happily eat there again.

Tim( aka Tom) and Paul are an asset to Fortes, their humour and enthusiasm shine through. All the staff are attentive and the food is served hot and quickly. We have had the fish, steak and ale pie, chicken curry, meatballs and each time the portions were generous. We would highly recommend Fortes for food and a fun friendly atmosphere whether young or old 😀 Trace and Neil

Staff friendly and chatty even as it was very busy. Kept reserve tables at front were we sat with our dog. Maybe pricey to some, but you pay for what you get. A special treat. Everything tasty. My wife raved about her goats cheese salad. Knickerbocker glory a real treat.

A review from the heart and sorry it's taken so long... Mum and I found this amazing place a good few months back, after Christmas and so glad we did. We found that food in Llandudno was losing it's touch, certain places altered menus, the heart and soul had gone, but... Walking in to Forte's, What a breath of fresh air and I say from the heart, just that. I'm blind, so use a long cane. The standard of service we received was absolutely amazing, First class and no joke there I can tell you. You'd be amazed at what range of food they offer on the menu, it's extensive and caters a wide range of tastes and get this... a CHEF with a heart and soul bigger than any dinner plate. Whenever you go in, the atmosphere is just like being surrounded by family, and what better than that. Worth every penny. The management are top class, Anna and the team make you feel so welcome you don't want to leave. Now you tell me of anywhere better than that? I doubt you'll find it anywhere else. The chef even pops out every so often to get to know the customers and for me, realising my disability, treated me with such decency and care, never experienced that before. It doesn't matter whether it's a family, you're on your own, business customer, whatever, Please, I highly recommend you visit this amazing restaurant. You won't regret it. A warm, relaxing atmosphere, staff skilled in providing 100% 5 star service and food to blow your socks off, just make sure you put your socks back on before you leave!

Never heard of the place before but definitely found a little gem here. Service was excellent all the staff were so friendly and helpful and the food was incredible!

This restaurant/café has been open since 1931. The passion and service given by the staff shows why this place is still open, that and the food is beautiful, especially the ice cream The gentleman who served my family and dogs was the benchmark of good customer service, being seated close to the door, I could personally see the repour, kindness and respect he and other members of staff showed to customers new and regular If I could give more than 5 stars, i would!!

First time here - the staff made me feel welcome and the food was nice. They didn't mind me having my laptop there either.

I’ve not visited Llandudno so engaged in some fact finding. Could never visit an establishment hoping to promote itself with menu ‘photos’ utterly unreadable. Amateur. Survey questions before and after a ‘visit’ are mute. All returned ‘stars’ are arbitrary as they are entered simply to forward my feedback.

We were struggling to find somewhere to eat in Llandudno, everywhere was very busy, we looked in Fortes and they said they could fit us in. They were very welcoming, very helpful, the service and the food was excellent.

Called in for a coffee with the dog and she was given a right fuss off the staff, biscuits and water as needed, I think she was better treated than us haha. Lovely clean and reasonably priced cafe, would definitely eat here next time we visit.

Lovely staff cakes and coffee. We went 2 days on the trot while we were having a short in Llandudno.

Called in here day after Boxing Day for a spot of fresh air after the Christmas festivities. There were 7 of us in the group, including 3 children. A lovely and very attentive waitress took us over to a large window, overlooking the sea and shifted 2 tables together for us. Nothing was too much trouble for her. We all enjoyed our tasty snacks and drinks. A very pleasant experience, and we were very impressed with the customer service. 👏

A great impression on entering, all staff looked so smart & there is a feel of an Italian cafe about it. A warm welcome & an extensive menu. However... the food we had really let them down. I asked specifically for toast on the side, not under scrambled egg (hate soggy toast) so they put cold lettuce & avocado on instead, so same result, soggy toast & the smoked salmon had the dark brown piece still on (yuk).. . 1 piece of toast was burnt on 1 side but cold. Eggs luke warm & avocado was bland, 2nd time around smoked salmon was a smaller portion & STILL with the brown bit on it. Garnish was 2 pieces of small lettuce leaf... that's it. No cucumber..smoked salmon 99% of the time needs black pepper, lemon & cucumber, on the side at least... not impressed 2nd time around. Toast is clearly made in advance then covered, it's warm but soggy/bendy! Both baked potatoes were a good size but both toppings were severely lacking. Only a small spoon of chilli & sprinkling of cheese, no butter & bacon, cheese n mushroom the same, just not enough topping for so lots of potato left with nothing ontop. Positive first impression by good service on entry & order taker but service of food server not great, when I asked for non soggy burnt toast she almost snatched my plate & plonked a smaller plate ontop - no apology, more a 'right, I'll get it changed' 😕 Really let down by the food sadly. I'd only potentially go back to try the cakes which looked beautiful in the display cases although not a great amount of choice when we were there, early afternoon on a Friday.

First time here, which is strange considering how many times we've been to Llandudno. Loved the service. Only came for a snack. We'll be back for a full meal next time 😁

Beautiful restaurant, professional and attentive staff and an excellent chef who personally checked our satisfaction. Service second to none. We thoroughly enjoyed their festive dinner which was excellent value for money and couldn’t resist their well renowned ice cream. Spotless hygiene and perfect background music. Would definitely recommend. Thanks to Paul, Simon, Anna and Russell.

Was served a knickerbocker glory and very dissapointed to find the icecream was defrosted to milk with far too much tinned fruit juice, it was quickly replaced with no fuss at all, it's a shame that the second one had just vanilla icecream and no strawberry and still too much fruit juice, I didnt want to cause a fuss so ate it and left a bit disgruntled as the price was almost £30 for 2 knickerbocker glorys and 1 choc Sunday, not worth the money and won't return again, fortès at the bottom of town do THE BEST knickerbockers so will stick to there in future.

Called in with a friend, seated quickly and then totally ignored. Our menu's had been placed down, it was evident we were ready to order but staff continued to walk by. We got up and left and spent our funds at another establishment across the road. Won't return.

Called in today such a lovely bright warm and welcoming cafe/restaurant on a very wet day. We had coffees and tosted baguette with bacon brie and cranberry gorgeous 😍 Had a lovely chat with Sam about the history of the café and family . Will definitely call again next time we are in lovely Llandudno 😍
