North Tea Power in Manchester

Friendly and welcoming little cafe. Lovely coffee, good service, best cakes. We had the banana bread -moist, spiced and topped with nuts and seeds- and an iced lemon polenta cake also delicious.

Not gonna lie. Awesome cakes, lovely drinks. Friendly atmosphere. Relaxed crowd. Good service. Would definitely return.

We searched for ages to find traditional(-ish) breakfast; bacon butties & poached eggs. On a busy Saturday the staff couldn't have been more helpful. The food was delicious, portions were generous and the juice was freshly squeezed. Tables are a mixture of small ones for 2 and larger, shared benches with bar stools; there were a mixture of folk in, every age all seemed to be relaxed and made to feel welcome.

The food at north tea power was average. We had the vegan breakfasts, one with a fried egg. The homemade beans were good but overall we found the breakfast quite small for £9.50 compared to other breakfast places in the area and it was quite cold. The service really let this place down. We found the member of staff serving us to be very rude. She was abrupt and unwelcoming and it felt like she didn't care if we were there or not. When we ordered the breakfasts she told us it would be 20 minutes, did we want it or not. None of the staff seemed particularly friendly and we felt uncomfortable staying there for long. Due to the poor service and general unfriendliness we wouldn't go back.

We stumbled upon this place a few weeks ago whilst shopping and what a hidden gem it is. I am the type of person who can't function without my morning coffee but the coffee from here is genuinely the best I've ever had. It is next level! 100% would recommend and their homemade selection of desserts are delicious 😋🤩

I haven't actually eaten there, I saw a rodent in the window, dipping in and out of their food pots and surfaces. I tried to contact the company and alert them, which they ignored initially, despite the fact that I sent videos of the rodent climbing on all their crockery (shows that they probably don't care). They finally responded via email and said they are going to sort the issue and 'sterilise their surfaces', but there is a still a mouse infecting the food and dropping faeces god knows where. They are open today, still serving food and it's disgusting that they seem unbothered by the risk of contamination. They can't claim to have a hygiene rating of 5 stars with rodents running about.

Called in by chance and so glad we did! Best almond croissant ever , delicious coffee and amazing porridge with apricots . Will be back 😊

I came here on my birthday for a coffee. We came at about 11. The girl serving me didn't even look at me and ignored me for 30 secs. I ordered, she told me she'd bring my drink and cake over when free. I gave her the benefit of the doubt, as it's Manchester, a lovely coffee shop and I'm turning up on a hot, probably busy day. She made one smoothie and then grumpily brought my coffee over, so she was hardly rushed off her feet. She was very good at the latte art, I didn't enjoy the coffee as it tasted rather sour - probably not her fault as it did look amazing. The cake was amazing. The service put me off completely as I'd actually raved about this place to my friend hence us going. I love the look but I'd rather be served by someone slow yet actually wants to be there.

Amazingly creamy iced mocha and stunning grilled cheese sandwich. Not a standard grilled cheese sandwich, 2 types of cheese, onions and leeks, with a dollop of mustard on the side. Best grilled cheese sandwich ever!

My favourite favourite coffee shop in the city centre. !! Great food & sick coffee. Great staff, obviously working v hard and just fast great service. No faffing about with silly american over the top fake smiling customer service - just good quality food and drink served the way it should be !! Great spot in manchester, definitely recommend visiting this place instead of the 100 Costa’s on market street. Mushrooms on toast was 10/10.

First time going there and it is really positive. The staff were reasonably friendly although an extra smiler wouldn't go a miss (but it was 9am). The coffee is great and the aesthetic on the inside is excellent and it is tucked away in a corner so was not too busy, which was ideal for me to do some work

I used to be a pretty frequent customer until today. Really unfriendly service from the lady at the counter for some reason. In the end, we walked as we didn’t want to give any money to such an unfriendly cafe. There are a lot of cafes in Manchester who offer better service and coffee - fig and sparrow, just between friends and siop shop are 1-2 minutes walk from here!

We popped in for a mocha, tea and light breakfast (sourdough toast and pecan fudge shortcake). Delicious and good value, recommended.
