Superb culinary quality served quickly but the manner and form of some waitresses leaves something to be desired….. However, if you want a delicious fish and chip, don’t hesitate, you will not be disappointed

We were here with our one-year-old son who certainly did not feel like eating here. We only found this out in the restaurant. When we said we wanted to leave, the manager told us not to worry if the little one started crying. We therefore decided to stay. We felt like our order was brought forward so we didn't have to wait as long. The amount of food was enough for three people. Luckily we were given the rest of the food. A salad is recommended with the fried fish. Recommended to eat here.

Cod and Haddock Fish and Chips were good. Doesn’t feel oily and wasn’t thick on the batter. Personally preferred the Haddock. Couldn’t stop with the chips, even though we were already full 🤣 Not on the menu, octopus salad was refreshing. Good and the bad, came out of the place smelling like fish and chips. Fortunately, headed back directly and not to a business meeting.

Cute little place, unfortunately the the service wasn't very good, never got the drink we ordered, waited 40 min for our food the server came back to ask if we had our food yet... then it came out over cooked. They need to season there food... no salt or pepper... way over priced foe what we got!

The fish and chips was very good, The best i have tastede. And there where free refill of chips! You have to try it! (:

A bit annoying as there was not any Salt or Vinagre sachets, although I did request them. They are usually delivered. Had no vinagre at home do had to send my partner to the shop.

We were lucky we walked in before the dinner rush without a reservation and got a table. Definitely consider reserving if you're planning to go for dinner after 6pm. As they get lined up very fast and are in central London. 12 minute walk from King's Cross and St. Pancras.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!! The restaurant just seemed chaotic and inefficient. I ordered scallops with boiled potatoes for my main course. The scallops arrived 30 minutes later. I waited for the boiled potatoes but nothing. I repeatedly asked the staff at least 3 times before a manager (I presume) told me that they ran out of boiled potatoes and nobody informed me while my scallops got cold. The manager said that he would waive the cost of my main but when the bills came I was charged full price. I argued and in the end he gave us £10 discount. The main was £25 and I missed the potatoes. They didn’t give me any substitution. It was an insult. The whole team of staff was incompetent. One of them (an older woman) refused to acknowledge my presence completely.

I was recommended this restaurant as the best for eating fish and chips and it lived up to our expectations. We had the cod fish (the classic) and it was very tender. The fries served with it are also excellent and unlimited. The setting is very nice with a seaside atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. Not to be missed!

We had lunch here after exploring the treasures at the British Library. Shared a jumbo cod with chips and mushy peas. The peas and chips were excellent as was the breading of the fish. The fish itself was mushy in texture. When I noticed I informed the staff. They took the feedback well but, did not offer to make any changes. They did advise that if I told them sooner next time they could swap out the filet.

I visited this place with my brother a month ago. Our eyes were bigger than our stomach because we ordered a starter and then the huge platter, but all the varieties of fishes were amazing!

The restaurant was full with a queue, so unfortunately I could only have take away (door next door, but same kitchen). The crew was super nice, helpful and cheerful, and the mood among each other was good. That alone was a joy. I had fish (haddock) and chips. The fish was fresh and tasted very good, the chips were as crispy as I haven't eaten them in a long time. Even though I “only” had regular, the portion was huge. Two people could have eaten it. I would come back in a heartbeat. I found the price/performance ratio (I paid GBP 12.90) to be very reasonable.

Delicious! There were three of us and we ordered a fish platter to share. The potatoes are with refill, as soon as we finished them they charged us more. Excellent service! I recommend and I will return.

Delicious fish and chips. The fish was very juicy, but the breading was unfortunately slightly soggy or not fully baked.

Most of the dishes are fried but I really recommend the fish cake and calamari.

The food was delicious though my skate was a tad over cooked , they were very busy with a large tour party so it took a while to get served, but I Would definitely go back . The actual people serving were delightful.

This is simply my favourite place for fish and chips in central London. Fish always freshly prepared. Wide menu on offer. Excellent friendly service in traditional restaurant. Free chip refills if you are really hungry. Popular with tourists, students, locals and business folk. They accommodate everyone from large groups to singles. Excellent value. Warning: a large cod is really large.

Just arrived in London in a chilly evening and look for a place to eat close to the hotel and was so happy to find North Sea! Ordered the Cod with chips and it was perfectly cooked! Fresh fish and crispy chips. Loved the tartar sauce (and I DON'T LIKE Tartar sauce 🤪). They have fresh fish arriving daily. Highly recommend 👌 Very friendly waiters also, Martina, Bruna and Desi were very attentive and efficient 💖

Good quality fish and chips at what is a reasonable price for central London with fresh and quality ingredients. Friendly and attentive staff. The restaurant is busy without being crowded and clearly the news is out about this place with a mix of people saying in from students, business people, tourists and visitors.

Fried food is really heavy and indigestible

Great fish&chips. Home made chips and fresh, tasty fish. Large portion is really really large -enough for two adults. One of the best London food experience I had.

I don't understand the recent high reviews. Poor, unpleasant and grumpy service. Waiters who contradict each other in a grumpy way. Never seen a restaurant take away bags of waste before closing amidst customers who are still eating or ordering. Fried sardines, cod and hake ok, other things were fried too long. Embarrassing fries. No beer on tap. It seems that you can choose between chips and potatoes, but we were not asked for anything.

Good morning 1st restaurant on our arrival in London, in the evening. Good welcome. Very good and plentiful. If we come back to London, we'll go back there. We had 3 haddock, 1 pickled onion, 1 onion rings and 2 nice glasses of sauvignon and an orange juice. Fresh fish without a doubt. We have very good memories of this evening.

We’ve been eating at this restaurant for over 8 years and my most recent visit was horrendous. The chips were hard, dry and unappetising and the fish was watery, small and tasteless. It was so bad I will never be returning. Quality of everything has gone down, including the service. I will never go back now which is a shame as it used to be so nice. Beware!

Very popular restaurant with limited space so it is best to book a table. Excellent customer service and welcomed on arrival and given a choice of two tables. The menu was explained to us with our questions answered. Drinks order was swiftly taken, followed by our food order when we were ready. Drinks and food were quickly delivered and, shortly afterwards, we were asked if everything was ok. Friendly staff who were happy to chat even though the restaurant began to fill not longer after our booked arrival. Food was excellent and plentiful. The restaurant's decoration and the friendly staff created a cosy and comfortable ambiance. Staff used tablets to take our order and our payment.

Came to London for my daughter-in-law's birthday, we went to eat in this restaurant to enjoy a good fish and chips. My darling had reserved a table and had asked by email if it was possible to have a birthday cake for her daughter. Quick and positive response from manager Ben. Love my grilled haddock! Consistently tender, slightly sweet and went very well with lemon and tartar. Salad was fresh, chips and boiled potato were great sides too. All staff members were friendly and made us feel right at home. When we visited, most patrons were Asians and tourists, seems like the restaurant has quite a reputation. In my opinion the best chippy in central London, coming from a northerner with high standards. Chips perfectly fried, staff generous with the vinegar, cheap lunch when in the area. Got a takeaway and took it to the pub round the corner. Just top notch stuff

Mmm, fish and chips. Exactly what we were going for and they delivered! Even the medium portions of mains were huge and so good, from the crisp breading to the delicious fish inside. Some of the food came out *really* hot, so the worst part was just waiting long enough to not burn your tongue. The servers were very friendly, but clearly just a little overwhelmed - I think if we had been in a hurry, we would have been annoyed, but for a nice relaxing meal, this was just fine. Oh, and the ice cream was great too!

This establishment has awards and it’s not difficult to see why. The food is very good and the portions are quite large (even when they call it medium). The seats are comfortable but a bit tightly spaced. L; however, they are very accommodating about any request if they are able.

Great place off the beaten path. Located just around the corner from kings cross. Phenomenal fish and chips and the owner was as nice as can be. Go visit this establishment for sure.

We were served by 3 different staff and we felt there was mo continued in service. We were asked the same questions by all three of them or were not asked some questions at all. We were given the bill before we asked for it and without being asked if we wanted to order dessert.

My daughter and I were in London for three weeks visiting a friend. We ate here three times during our visit. The owner was very kind to my daughter and remembered her each time. The fish and chips are great! Our favorite meal was the bangers and mash. My daughter has told several people about the bangers and mash since returning home.

The food was excellent! Daisy and Rita were super nice and provided excellent service! The haddock was yummy, but the scallops stole the show!

Haddock arrived well done so dark/black batter which is totally unacceptable; I opened it up to see the fish and there was literally a tiny piece inside - definitely not a whole haddock. Driver stopped halfway for ages and it arrived cold.

This is the place to go if you want authentic fish and chips in London. Your hardest decision is to choose the cod or haddock. I'd also recommend the fish cake. It tastes like a recipe passed down from generations. It makes me feel like I'm eating dinner at their family's home. Also, staff is quite friendly though understandably busy.

Generous portions. Fish and chips with fresh fish, real fillets. Light years away from calibrated fish that all have the same strength. In short, we enjoyed ourselves and had a pleasant time. I saw a comment that talked about discrimination, it's completely false. We were very well received. What's more, there were several groups of Asians in the restaurant.

The chips were from yesterday and not very nice what they did was just reheat in the fryer and chips were very hard, I don’t recommend to go when they open the shop because they will give you they leftovers from yesterday.

We had a wonderful time here. We were visiting from the USA and were wanting to try two local meals so we tried bangers and mash and fish and chips. Both were absolutely amazing. Everything was perfect. Portion sizes were very generous. And the wait staff was very friendly.

Really nice service from staff. However, the calamari is really disappointing. Portion is extremely small for £9.95. Most of the batter fell off. It's really greasy too.

They tried. But unfortunately, it is very understaffed. One of the female staff members was very rude seemed like she didn't want to be there. The male staff tried his best. Was very helpful in picking food and beer. Looked like only three people to cover entire restaurant when we git there .ut did seem to have a couple more show up as we got done. We had a great experience today at North Sea Fish Restaurant. We had to catch a train so we needed to depart an hour later, the waitress made sure we were served quickly. The whole personnel was lovely. My partner had the cod fish and chips, which was excellent, and I ordered two starters as a main (avocado prawns and jumbo prawns in garlic and white wine sauce), which were also great. The pear and raspberry crumble at the end was divine. I strongly recommend, without hesitation !!

What a surprise, friendly service in a very busy business. The food was well prepared (prawn cocktail, fried brie, cod fish and chips). The Pinot Grigio tasty and at the correct temperature.
