One of the very best fish and chip shops. Tasty good sized cod for £8 cooked to perfection. Tables to dine in as well. Well worth popping in if passing along the A143.

Busy for takeaway and dine in but it was quick service. Tasty chips and crispy fish! A great find whilst on holiday in the local area. Just a heads up it's cash only 😊

I 'love Fish & Chips, but It's now too expensive. I no longer go. A Chinese takeaway is 'far better value, but I 'must say, this shop is as good as any I've been to.

We had fish and chip there as we are on holiday was great food as sometimes you get fish that's very greasy chips are horrible but at Norman's they were sooo good to service was great all the staff were really nice and friendly to would highly recommend we will definitely go there again prices for food was not as expensive as we thought we both had tea and got 2 cups out of a pot each thankyou once again.

Arrived half an hour before closing, and although they were without a few bits (large cod, buttered roll) the staff dealt really well with our large order. The portions were a decent size, and the food tasted good. The option is there to dine in if you wish (around 20 seats I think, at tables). Just a quick word of warning, the shop accepted cash only and although there is a cash point just across the road it charges a small fee for usage.

Service was shocking. Not a single person working there was happy.

Chips were ok, sausage was cheap & nasty and the service was bad. You could cut the atmosphere with a knife. Miserable staff.

Very good fried fish shop. Everything cooked to perfection. Just place your order and pay at the counter, sit and read the paper (provided) for a short while and 'Hey Presto, lunch is ready. Children sized meals available. There is even a seating area where one can dine in. Complete with Pot of tea and bread and butter or a roll if so requested. This is a lovely, thriving business and has been here for years. Nice polite people too. NB. I believe it's 'cash only here, but there's an ATM outside the shop opposite. Reccomended, But, 'Check Your Change ! At The Counter ! 🐬 🐓 🍟 🧃

This fish and chip bar is very good and the prices are so cheap, great tasting chips and the sausages normal for fish and chip bars, will definitely return, very busy there!

Me and my dad sometimes pop in here to get a portion of chips at lunch time. They are usually fresh and piping hot, and good quality tasty chips. Perfect for a quick-grab lunch on the go. I have also in the past had fish from here, which was also nice, it did have the skin on under the batter which was not to my preference, but it was tasty none-the-less. Thumbs up from us.

Fish was OK but chips were dry and quite hard, more like frozen chips.

Fab fish and chip shop fab service nice staff and the food is excellent, there is a good choice on the menu and the kids menu and plenty of room to eat in.

Good take away meal, Harleston finest.

Fab fish and chips and very reasonable on price. We sat in and enjoyed rock and chips cooked to perfection. I had haddock on Monday evening equally as good. Gets pretty busy on a Friday evening from around 6pm but after sampling the fish I can understand why.

I’ve had food from this place four or five times and it’s been great I did have a rubbish bit of fish the first time from here so haven’t had fish since but I will give it another chance as everything else I’ve had from here has been great and that’s why I’ve given it four stars as maybe it was just a bad piece of fish.

Really good fish, crispy but not overly. The chips were great as was the curry sauce, we were very happy with our meal.

We had takeaway last night. It was awful the batter was soggy and the chips where old tasting. The sausages look like they been recooked a few times. My husband said was different ppl working then last time. Honestly save your money unless you like dry chips and soggy batter.

the fish, chips and sausages we had was delicious, covid safety was good, but i dont think it should be cash only, seems like a tax fiddle to me, the only thing we didnt like about the meal was the curry sauce was an awful colour and runny as water, and was very expensive, but for how nice the fish and chips was its worth it, shame we cant afford to eat from there again, and it was take away only currently,

I didn't realise it was changing hands. Fish tasted old. Batter was soggy. Tried again today. Thought I would give the benefit of the doubt. Today was the same, fish under the heater, soggy batter vaguely warm. Very poor and surly server. Never again. CASH ONLY !!!

Chips were stale. Fish batter was undercooked, soggy and fish was clearly frozen, tasted old and was very fishy smelling which is a sign of bad fish. Wouldnt go here if it was the last fish place on the planet.

Extremely fresh and superbly cooked. We do like fish and chips as a treat however fed up with greasy offering. This was excellent. Not necessarily local for us however was in the town and decided to go for it. Not disappointed. No eating in at present due COVID-19 restrictions however great as a takeaway

Normans has been on this spot for decades, the staff are polite and very friendly, their seating area has a cosy warm feel and their fish and chip menu is wonderful, not greasy, chips are plentiful. They don't take cards but there is a cash machine exactly opposite (10 feet) in the wall of the Spar shop where beers can be bought.

I saw the other reviews and werent sure whether to go to Norman's. However, we are away on holiday and this was the nearest Fish & Chip shop to us. Our F&C restaurant back home is 2nd to none, so the bar was set high! Normans restaurant was clean and tidy. Staff were friendly and service good. We weren't kept waiting too long, food was piping hot, tasted great, light crispy batter, fresh fish and chips were perfect. Good portion size, highly recommended.

We usually go into Bungy for chips which are lovely but we decided on moving into the area that we should give the local eateries a try , this is a definite no no for us we decided to have a piece of cod with chips there was so much oil in it that is ozzed out when it was cut the chips where mush stuck to the paper so sorry you would really have to love grease and have a strong stomach to cope with it

Had a lovely piece of rock (fish) and chips with a cup of tea in there restaurant. Would recommend.

I arrived at 13.45 and asked for Cod and chips to take out. The chips had already been fried and the battered Cod was in the heated display unit. Usually they cook the fish fresh, but not this time. The fish was over cooked and dry and the chips looked and tasted very greasy. I binned the lot and will never go there again.

If you fancy fish and chips you could do worse than Normans. Great fish. Great chips. Great deep fried other things. The only thing missing is an apostrophe. This, is unforgiveable.

The worst service ever. Went in to be shouted out dog out no chips. Tried to explain we have a guide dog and the lae and ask if they have exception certificate and good my hubby see it. No go no dogs no chips. Hubby treid to show my dog certificate to be told no go. Hubby told them they breaking the law.. we left to go to Jacks chippy. Best move

We eat here whenever we camp at Weybread. A very tasty meal of fish and chips with mushy peas or chilli sauce nicely presented. Can certainly recommend.

Best chippy I’ve been too. Generous portions and friendly staff. Plus you can eat in too! If you like proper chip shop curry sauce go elsewhere apart from that it’s good.

Best fish and chips we have had away from home. Good service, fish cooked for us, staff efficient and friendly.

We are new to the area and decided to try this take away. What a good decision. The fish was a lovely flavour and the batter really crispy. The chips were golden brown, fluffy inside and delicious. There were a large number of people waiting for orders which shows what a good chippy this is. We shall certainly use this take away again. We noticed you can also eat in and will try this one day.
