Ok pub, staff on our visit were struggling.

We popped in for dinner on Tuesday evening. The service was great. Food was delicious! The hunters chicken was fabulous and NOT drowned in bbq sauce which we loved. Drinks were also a good price. Happy with all aspects. Although we nearly didn’t go there due to the Facebook account saying they didn’t do food on Monday and Tuesdays but that must have been from previous owners. Glad we went in to see. Atmosphere was good: perhaps just needs a little music.

Went on a Saturday evening. We were advised on entering that certain items on the menu were not available, having that in mind we ordered 2 Mac and cheese and 2 Korean bbq burgers and 2 cheese and bacon burgers. Mac and cheese was good. Burgers were OKAY however the menu states served with onion rings upon being served none were to be found. The waitress was asked and we were told they had run out, we asked if there was any substitute and the waitress walked off to not return! Very disappointed with the service.

Had Sunday roast,food was excellent and staff were really friendly will definitely do a return visit when next in thetford

This was are first time and Will be the last we visit.The menu was very limited with lots of items being unavailable. We waited for quite a while for the food which looked lovely on arrival. The staff member asked if we would like any sauces which we said we would. No sauces arrived or any staff member to ask if are food was ok, which it wasn’t. The burger was raw in the middle.when we complained the waiter said she had forgot to bring the sauce and would inform the chef about the burger. Not great customer care.

Honestly. Don’t even know where to start. Food was atrocious, not even cooked and still cold in the middle. Wrote a Facebook status about said event and had the Facebook page for this pub literally arguing with myself and family members rather than take the criticism. Unprofessional. No thank you.

It was a bit quiet for a Friday lunchtime but food and staff were great.

Been in a couple of times in the past few weeks, a lovely little pub that's well decorated throughout. A lot of thought, care and attention has gone into the pub. Staff were great and the food was impeccable and quick to come out. It shall be my new haven when escaping the office at lunch! Recommend to all.

Overpriced, understaffed, grotesque management and microwave cold food. I have been drinking and eating at the terrier for 8+ years. The recent decline in service, backed by the multiple dangerous and (relatable) poor reviews on this site has make the expensive drinks taste bitter. After seeing ing the male owner speak to female staff in a degrading and bullying fashion on multiple occasions I have chosen to not return, may the manager think about the direction of his soul and clearly failing pub. Replies to complaints on this website by the greasy looking individual can back this claim. Trust the reviews and don't take the risk. I will no longer support the Norfolk Terrier.

Poor pub, only one poor member of staff doing it all it seemed. Waited to order food at the bar, after finding menus not on the bar, but on tables, gave up eventually as no one reappear after the helpful lady disappeared after cleaning the loos. Only two couples in, one of which was just watching the football, no drink or food, it must be Radio Rentals. I didn't call as owner asked, as he seems hostile, and I live over a 100 miles away, and wouldn't be back.

Had a fantastic meal here last night. Food was tasty well cooked & presented. I had Chicken Flatbread which was delicious. Other ladies had the pie & mash and one had pizza . Staff were lovely very attentive to our dining/drinking experience definitely be going back.

We visited today for a family meal. We were all left extremely disappointed. The food was edible but unenjoyable. All of the fried food was somehow burnt yet soggy. Very bland and poor presentation across the board. There was one member of staff out front who was serving customers at the bar and serving all food, meaning there were long wait times. We were not checked on during our meal and had to go and ask for condiments which then took another 10 minutes to arrive to the table. This staff member was working very hard and was very apologetic. This was not the experience we had hoped for. We were aware that the pub manager was cooking currently due to not having a chef employed. However, if food is being served I expect it to be worth the money I am paying.

Friendly service as always, and a very tasty roast dinner, just a shame I had no room for dessert. The new tenants have only been here for under a year, It’s friendly, spotlessly clean, and would highly recommend, my 4 year old grandson enjoyed the activities in the beer garden supplied by Wildings, a great pub in the heart of our community

I got to experience my first true British pub experience. We drank, watched the football game, and had a blast when England won. The staff was lovely, and I truly loved the atmosphere it gave me.

A drunk bartender with shaking hands does nothing to improve the atmosphere and face of this establishment.

I visited the Terrier on Fathers Day with my wife and daughter. We didn’t have a reservation but, despite the busy days booking, we were accommodated for lunch. We ordered three roasts, one was a vegetarian option and various drinks. The food was very well presented, piping hot with added pigs in blankets and a lovely thick gravy. The vegetables we firm, obviously fresh and very tasty and the beef order was soft, ample and a perfect Father’s Day meal. The vegetarian alternative? I have been told by my daughter, was “fab” I can wholeheartedly recommend the Terrier, its staff and the owners are amiable, always approachable and do their utmost to make to feel welcome. Don’t hesitate to visit

We have been to The Terrier many times but unfortunately this time was very bad. We booked a table for father's day and subsequently where charged £5 deposit per person, but when we arrived the place was fairly empty with one large group and about 3/4 smaller ones. There was only one member of staff in front of house and they appeared to be quite overwhelmed. It took a while for our starters to arrive and then when they did the breaded mushrooms were frozen in the middle and when complained and asked for different ones they came out so hot they burnt one member of our tables mouth. We then waited nearly an hour for our mains to arrive which we weren't informed of there being a slight wait. A member of our table had an allergic reaction to her main meal when we were informed when ordering that the food did not contain any of the allergen. This resulted in them becoming quite unwell and having to leave to seek medical attention. ⚠️WARNING TO ALL BE CAREFUL IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES TO CERTAIN FOODS⚠️ Two of our tables main meals were the roast dinner and both were very unhappy with the meal. The cauliflower cheese had a very sour taste which ruined the dish as the sauce was over most of the food. We believe that the sauce must have gone off. The gravy was so thick it was hard to pour and it tasted very strong, it was like you were eating a stock pot or stock cube. The only good thing about this meal was the desserts. We understood that they were clearly short staffed and were struggling with all the customers but there was no care for attention and this resulted in one of our table members becoming quite unwell. There was a very strong lack of communication from the member of staff about what was happening in terms of there being a delay on food. I myself have worked in hospitality for over 10 years working in many different types of Greene King establishments and have been in this situation many of times, but there is no excuse for the lack of attention to allergies and the poor communication with customers. We will unfortunately not be returning to The Terrier.

Simon and Cat fantastic land lords alway receive a warm welcome always a pleasures to see them very customer friendly people. Amy always impress us she is a highly self motivated person who bounces between jobs serving from bar and kitchen and somehow manages to keep upkeep of the whole area clearing tables cleaning but she never keeps you waiting for service and always smiling and happy Thank you very much Amy for all that you do

We had a really enjoyable meal at the Terrier last night (Friday 6th June 04). Food was first class and service was quick, efficient and staff really friendly. Thoroughly recommend.

Not recommended Cold food still frozen on the inside. Not given what we ordered and waited 45 mins to get the food. Manager reluctant to refund as I didn't want a replacement. Avoid this place.

We found this pub very friendly and helpful. There was a wide range of food of which we chose a mixed grill and chicken pizza , the food was well cooked and delicious. The portions were very generous for the price paid and would definitely eat here again if in the area.

WOW WOW WOW! This pub is so good! Open space lovely beer garden and the food is just magnificent, from the very start to the end of our experience we were just delighted! We have even booked the pub for a birthday party, price is great and the venue is made for this type of thing! Looking forward to seeing England win the euros here! Simon and Catherine have been excellent in assisting with the booking and it’s clear how the treat there staff, as they are always so happy and tentative!

We visited the Norfolk Terrier on a Friday lunchtime. Warmly welcomed, we had a cracking lunch.The food is to be highly recommended. Our hostess looked after our every need with genuine kindness. We plan to return to experience an evening and a Sunday lunch. Five stars.

Went to watch the football with my sons(I'm not a football but still) and had a Sunday roast lunch. Food was good, pub nice and clean, WC facilities were imacculate, staff were efficient and polite, very helpful.

Came in on bank holiday Monday to find the only food they serverd was pizza, and then found out I was paying £20 for 2 frozen tesco cheese pizzas with some extra toppings thrown on top

Lovely staff, decent food and a pretty standard pub atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Would recommend the chicken tacos to start with. 4 stars. Free parking onsite and not too busy on a Sunday lunch time which suited us well.

Food is value for money, dog friendly, with 8 tvs to watch sport on and the staff were excellent and very friendly. Definitely go again if we are up that way again

Had the best evening meal I’ve had in a very long time it was so delicious and the service was outstanding staff are so welcoming and really make you feel comfortable from the minute you walk through the door I would highly recommend anyone to visit here even if you are just passing through and fancy a bite to eat

Wonderful atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly and it was spotlessly clean. I didn't eat but the food smelled delicious. Cost of a coke and j20 was £3 each. The live musician, Nick Stephenson was phenomenonly good.

Booked a table last minute for sunday lunch and Catherine was very helpful and acconadating. Food was served with a smike and piping hot. Portion size was perfect and the staff very friendly. Will be back again for sure.

During a recent stay in thetford, we visited the Norfolk Terrier. We pre-booked a table and paid a small deposit of £5 per person (company policy). We were served very quickly after being seated. Everyone was happy with the size of the portions and the quality of the food. The staff were very friendly. We'll definitely visit again the next time we are in Thetford.

We were ignored at the bar even though the pub was almost empty- staff seem moody and service is poor

Called in for a quick bite to eat one lunchtime. It was still fairly quiet but started to fill up while we were there so clearly very popular. Prompt service from the staff, the food was great and arrived in good time. The whole place is very clean and well presented. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

Had a wonderful meal at the Norfolk Terrier tonight. Our steaks cooked to perfection. Wonderful friendly bar and waiting staff led by a lovely lady called Claire. Would definitely recommend. And we will certainly be back.

Attended on 15/12 for a works meal. Food was lovely and very tasty, staff very friendly and helpful. The chef even came out to see if everything was OK. Three courses served at a steady pace and we didn't feel rushed. Highly recommended and will be visiting again very soon.

Had a work Christmas party last night for around 20 of us that the terrier accommodated for us at last minute, the staff were lovely and the food was good, all my staff enjoyed it, it was the perfect venue for us and will definitely be rebooking, seems like a nice local pub with a good atmosphere🤙🏽

Came here last night for our Christmas do with wickes. Was wanting to book as just down the road from me and has always been a great local. Really enjoyed myself with the live band and the pool table. Smoking areas and toilets were also clean and tidy. Really great night well done terrier for making our Christmas work do one the of the best!! ( we also had a table of 20!!)

I'm sure you're both fantastic entertainers and it would've been lovely to support you in this lovely, what used to be , a beautiful, community, family, friendly pub 😊 unfortunately since the present owners have taken over , and indeed in the first two days in charge , they have been arrogant, rude,confrontational to all of the friendly regular uses of the pub and consequently it has resulted in the vast majority of people boycotting the pub in protest at the way the present management fail to create a friendly approach to people and therefore driving the general good paying customers away! Sadly, with much regret, I do fear that you will be playing to a very minimal audience if indeed any at all . Please except our deepest disappointment in not being allowed or indeed welcome to come and support you both . As a community we all look forward to our entertaining evenings at the terrier and there hasn't been any entertainers, good or bad , that haven't been supported by us all . By all I include at least 24+ people! Again we all wish you well and once the present people leave after running the pub into the ground we hopefully will all look forward to seeing you in a friendly and happy environment with no arrogant, inconsiderate management who are blatantly just out to alienate the very people that love and care about thier local pub and community!

5 of us ate at lunch time today. Everyone happy with their meals. 1 minor issue with a starter BUT was rectified straight away. The manager Emma was friendly, polite and welcoming. We will return.

An unplanned visit here- wish we hadn’t of bothered!! 4 adults and 1 child on our table, so 5 meals. 2 meals came out, 1 lasagne and one meat pie with chips and peas. The menu stated the lasagne came with a “dressed” salad, and garlic bread- what they meant was “lasagne with chopped red, green and yellow pepper with red onion- no dressing, and no garlic bread” 🤔 the meat pie had a rock solid crust and was piping hot in the middle- clearly microwaved!! As for the gravy, it was so thick it remained as a “blob” in the jug and was un-pourable. Next, we were advised there was no mash for the child sausage and mash, at this point we’d had enough…. And the other two meals also hadn’t arrived… still. Staff were rude, and seemed shocked to note that we were not happy with the solid gravy, undressed salad, rock solid pie crust (apart from the manager who clearly was very embarrassed and apologetic) NOTE to The Norfolk Terrier who responds to reviews…. I think you have your tables mixed up, myself, Mr J Waterman and Mr B waterman who also left you a review on Sunday, were all on table 11, you have us mixed up with table 9 who also complained!! We (table 11) were not offered free drinks, although were given a refund for our food- thank goodness! Although what an experience!!… laughable now!!! Certainly a place we will never visit again, nor recommend!!

DO NOT EAT HERE!!! untrained staff. The food I ordered didn't ever turn up. The waitress didn't know what the food on the plates was. Extremely sticky floors. Extremely poor and will certainly never be coming here again. The short time I was there I saw 3 refunds take place, not including my refund. Don't waste your time. Find somewhere else.

It was not very good experience as my child was grabbed on coat by big dog. Nearly bit him to face as dog was with out lead. My niece vegetarian and gluten free meal was missing half of ingredients and other meal was still frozen.

Came as a family with cousin and aunt. Overall food for me was OK, but my cousin (who chose gluten free options) had a more difficult time. Her curry was cold - almost frozen - salad with nearly no avocados or dressing, and when she finally got her (mildly warm) curry, she noticed the poppadoms drenched in oil - not gluten free oil.

Food was ok .There was no Sunday roast,which was a shame,and there was no mixed grill .Beef and ale pie didn't have much meat inside and the steak and chips had to be sent back as food was cold which was unfortunate. The mushroom pie and fish and chips were fine . There was no honeycomb for the honeycomb and brownie sundae which one of our party still had and it was nice. The other dessert we had was apple and blackberry crumble pie which was a lot of crumble and not much fruit . The glasses we had our drinks in had a milky look, perhaps not rinsed sufficiently . The staff were friendly and there was some live music on which was nice too . Probably wouldn't go there again particularly.

Went for lunch on Sunday. Quite empty. I had steak And chips. Arrived and the steak was cold and so were the chips. Took it back and asked for it to be heated. Chips came back which were hard in the middle and steak luke warm at most. The following day I had an upset stomach and couldn't go to work .

Went to Norfolk Terrier today had cake & coffee. Great price delicious cake . Will definitely go again.

Never visited before... what a beautiful pub 😍 we visited after a swim. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was amazing and quick service. Few toys for the kids to keep them entertained, also free fruit per child while they wait for food :) Great overall, I will definitely return... thank you 😊

I decided to visit the Terrier based on previous recommendations (prior to change of owners) We took a family member for Sunday lunch, it took nearly 30 minutes to receive our food. Having chosen the roast beef, I was disappointed to see a ropey looking slice of something not at all resembling beef on the side of my plate. Very chewy and only just off raw in the middle I was struck with an excessive salty taste, that appeared to be rock salt crust all over the beef. It was inedible. Roast potatoes that weee greasy to taste left me feeling unwell. My wife had a Gluten free burger that turned up with missing components. I was offered a free drink to compensate me for the meal from hell. Not a venue I will ever attend or recommend to anyone.

Was just trying to have a quite drink. Parents and owners allowing kids to play football under canopy outside. Not much space table kept being hit by the leather football which also nearly hit me lots of times. Was horrible experience. Was planning on having a few drinks. Had one and left. Don't mind kids playing football maybe play on the grass not next to the tables where people are trying to eat and drink.
