Lovely staff, decent food and a pretty standard pub atmosphere. Reasonable prices. Would recommend the chicken tacos to start with. 4 stars. Free parking onsite and not too busy on a Sunday lunch time which suited us well.

Wonderful atmosphere. Everyone was very friendly and it was spotlessly clean. I didn't eat but the food smelled delicious. Cost of a coke and j20 was £3 each. The live musician, Nick Stephenson was phenomenonly good.

Called in for a quick bite to eat one lunchtime. It was still fairly quiet but started to fill up while we were there so clearly very popular. Prompt service from the staff, the food was great and arrived in good time. The whole place is very clean and well presented. Highly recommended if you're in the area.

We had a lovely lunch today at The Norfolk Terrier today. The food was all very tasty and hot. Our meals all came out together, family of seven.Staff were really friendly and helpful. Brilliant pub to go to for a meal or maybe just a drink. Highly recommended

Had a work Christmas party last night for around 20 of us that the terrier accommodated for us at last minute, the staff were lovely and the food was good, all my staff enjoyed it, it was the perfect venue for us and will definitely be rebooking, seems like a nice local pub with a good atmosphere🤙🏽

Came here last night for our Christmas do with wickes. Was wanting to book as just down the road from me and has always been a great local. Really enjoyed myself with the live band and the pool table. Smoking areas and toilets were also clean and tidy. Really great night well done terrier for making our Christmas work do one the of the best!! ( we also had a table of 20!!)

Really lovely and friendly pub. Visited with my daughter for a breakfast and wasn't disappointed. Not overly greasy and amazing. Will definitely visit again.

5 of us ate at lunch time today. Everyone happy with their meals. 1 minor issue with a starter BUT was rectified straight away. The manager Emma was friendly, polite and welcoming. We will return.

An unplanned visit here- wish we hadn’t of bothered!! 4 adults and 1 child on our table, so 5 meals. 2 meals came out, 1 lasagne and one meat pie with chips and peas. The menu stated the lasagne came with a “dressed” salad, and garlic bread- what they meant was “lasagne with chopped red, green and yellow pepper with red onion- no dressing, and no garlic bread” 🤔 the meat pie had a rock solid crust and was piping hot in the middle- clearly microwaved!! As for the gravy, it was so thick it remained as a “blob” in the jug and was un-pourable. Next, we were advised there was no mash for the child sausage and mash, at this point we’d had enough…. And the other two meals also hadn’t arrived… still. Staff were rude, and seemed shocked to note that we were not happy with the solid gravy, undressed salad, rock solid pie crust (apart from the manager who clearly was very embarrassed and apologetic) NOTE to The Norfolk Terrier who responds to reviews…. I think you have your tables mixed up, myself, Mr J Waterman and Mr B waterman who also left you a review on Sunday, were all on table 11, you have us mixed up with table 9 who also complained!! We (table 11) were not offered free drinks, although were given a refund for our food- thank goodness! Although what an experience!!… laughable now!!! Certainly a place we will never visit again, nor recommend!!

DO NOT EAT HERE!!! untrained staff. The food I ordered didn't ever turn up. The waitress didn't know what the food on the plates was. Extremely sticky floors. Extremely poor and will certainly never be coming here again. The short time I was there I saw 3 refunds take place, not including my refund. Don't waste your time. Find somewhere else.

5 meals ordered only 2 came out which were very disappointing. My advice is find some where else to eat. DO NOT WAIST YOUR TIME HERE

It was not very good experience as my child was grabbed on coat by big dog. Nearly bit him to face as dog was with out lead. My niece vegetarian and gluten free meal was missing half of ingredients and other meal was still frozen.

Came as a family with cousin and aunt. Overall food for me was OK, but my cousin (who chose gluten free options) had a more difficult time. Her curry was cold - almost frozen - salad with nearly no avocados or dressing, and when she finally got her (mildly warm) curry, she noticed the poppadoms drenched in oil - not gluten free oil.

Went for lunch on Sunday. Quite empty. I had steak And chips. Arrived and the steak was cold and so were the chips. Took it back and asked for it to be heated. Chips came back which were hard in the middle and steak luke warm at most. The following day I had an upset stomach and couldn't go to work .

Food was ok .There was no Sunday roast,which was a shame,and there was no mixed grill .Beef and ale pie didn't have much meat inside and the steak and chips had to be sent back as food was cold which was unfortunate. The mushroom pie and fish and chips were fine . There was no honeycomb for the honeycomb and brownie sundae which one of our party still had and it was nice. The other dessert we had was apple and blackberry crumble pie which was a lot of crumble and not much fruit . The glasses we had our drinks in had a milky look, perhaps not rinsed sufficiently . The staff were friendly and there was some live music on which was nice too . Probably wouldn't go there again particularly.

Went to Norfolk Terrier today had cake & coffee. Great price delicious cake . Will definitely go again.

Never visited before... what a beautiful pub 😍 we visited after a swim. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was amazing and quick service. Few toys for the kids to keep them entertained, also free fruit per child while they wait for food :) Great overall, I will definitely return... thank you 😊

I decided to visit the Terrier based on previous recommendations (prior to change of owners) We took a family member for Sunday lunch, it took nearly 30 minutes to receive our food. Having chosen the roast beef, I was disappointed to see a ropey looking slice of something not at all resembling beef on the side of my plate. Very chewy and only just off raw in the middle I was struck with an excessive salty taste, that appeared to be rock salt crust all over the beef. It was inedible. Roast potatoes that weee greasy to taste left me feeling unwell. My wife had a Gluten free burger that turned up with missing components. I was offered a free drink to compensate me for the meal from hell. Not a venue I will ever attend or recommend to anyone.

Long weekend away,tired,didn't want to cook . Pub was quite .service was good ,staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was very good .

Great atmosphere whilst watching the sports and friendly staff

Was just trying to have a quite drink. Parents and owners allowing kids to play football under canopy outside. Not much space table kept being hit by the leather football which also nearly hit me lots of times. Was horrible experience. Was planning on having a few drinks. Had one and left. Don't mind kids playing football maybe play on the grass not next to the tables where people are trying to eat and drink.

Amazing staff, very kind, friendly and go above and beyond to help! The food was absolutely amazing as well. Couldn't fault anything! My kids love it there as the older one can play pool and the little one can run around without the worries of being told off and there being grumpy people there! One of the best pubs I've been to. Me & 4 other people had an amazing Sunday Beef Roast yesterday. We brought our dog with us and everyone loved & welcomed him! Our server was absolutely lovely & put a little extra on our plates but oh my the portions were huge! Always better to have too much that not a lot! They also gave us some scraps of beef for the dog which was lovely of them!! Cauliflower cheese was awesome 😍 100% recommend & will definitely definitely come back here in the future when we visit Thetford again!!

We visited for the first time on New Year's Eve for an early dinner. Vegan burger was dry and boring, but the rest of the food was nice, especially the chips.

Had a lovely lunch and pint today in the Norfolk Terrier which is dog and people friendly. Reasonably priced and very nicely decorated. It has a games area (pool table, darts, quiz machine) and a separate dining area, which is nice.

Very average. Lacked atmosphere, probably as not many people were there when we went but no background music or anything. Food was mostly alright, nothing to shout about but wasn't horrible by any means. Could be better. Pub itself has been done up very nicely and the lady serving us was nice.

Would not even give this place 1 star we ordered beef for a Sunday roast and it had the most gristle in a piece of meat I have ever attempted to eat even with a steak knife I could not cut it. The Yorkshire pudding was like leather same again the steak knife would not cut it. When we complained we were told sorry about that it must be a bad bit of meat well DONT serve it to anyone if it is bad and as for would you like a desert no I would not perhaps a refund or even a partial refund could have been offered. Plus we waited nearly an hour to be served this disgusting food.

Had a fantastic lunch here on Saturday. Between us we had: beef and ale pie, mushroom and ale pie, rump steak. All cooked to perfection. Will definitely be back!! Thank you 😊

Warm, welcoming, friendly and affordable. The hosts here are so genuine and fun, you will regret not spending more time. Meals, drinks and entertainment are all well above what one would expect and, if you are a group looking for somewhere to hold your next event, this establishment goes above and beyond to make sure all of your guests are sated. Don't forget, your furryfriends are welcome here also, with treats and water on offer for them too.

Atmosphere is dull. Very picky and choosy when they serve foods. Staff are stuck up and don’t smile. And this is definitely not a child friendly pub/restaurant. Disappointing as it’s just re opened. This place won’t last long if they don’t get their act together!

Went for a change of scenery and was greeted by lovely warm welcoming staff, nice atmosphere and taken over by new management, saw some food going out which looked great. Will give it a try sometime 👍

Place has been recently refurbished and was clean tidy and welcoming. Staff were helpful to a point and also welcoming 2 stars dropped as I had ordered GF burger that arrived not as described (naked and with salad vs. Bun with chips). As a Coeliac I was skeptical so checked, glad I did as there must have been confusion somewhere. Need to improve allergen understanding...if that was a peanut allergy things would have been v.different. Rest of food was spot on - worth a visit for non-coeliacs IMO Manager was good tho and refunded me!

The girl who greeted us was nice and was apologetic for their mistake. We booked 1 week ago but they said our booking was not on their system. We were asked to wait and could only get seated if another booking for a table of 4 didn't show up. We were not offered a round of complimentary drinks for their error whilst we waited. Luckily, they didn't show so we got seated. There was no beef left at 1.30pm which seemed really early to have run out. My partner then had to get turkey but then they had no cranberry sauce to go with it so that was disappointing. My veg tart would have been nicer if the sides weren't very hard. Pieces flew off my plate whilst cutting! My stuffing ball was also burnt and hard on one side. The cauliflower cheese tasted more like milky sauce than a cheese sauce. The peas, carrots and brocolli stems were nice. Could have been worse but could have been better.

Decided to check this place out after it's refurb. Popped in and asked for a food menu to be told rudely by a lady behind the bar that we couldn't order food as we hadn't booked a table. I wouldn't have minded but the pub was empty apart from 2 tables of people - 1 of which had already eaten and were about to leave. We asked if we could book a table to which they replied no!

The pub has been done up really nicely after the refurb and looks great. Drinks and service were fine. But food wasn't great. Took an hour for our meal to come. The mashed potatoe was crispy on top where it appeared to have sat under the hot lights to keep it warm. The pie looked great until I opened it up to find 2 and a half bits of meat. The rest was all gravy. Tasted fine . . But couldn't really be classed as a meat pie with so little meat in it.

Kitchen shut at 8 that's when most people go out to eat ? Crazy or not interested in service

Feel bad writing this having worked in this type of business for a while now, but as this meal was booked and reviews were definitely a contribution for it I feel I should 'warn' others. First impression was very below average. The bar was busy with what I presume was locals, but being taken into the restaurant area there was no one. Decor was extremely outdated, tables mismatched and to be honest needed a good clean. Having rang twice to confirm a table for 6, there wasn't one set up so instead was sat in the middle on a 10, fine. Reading the menus I found they were all stuck together from sauce I presume. Ordered drinks to then have the lady return to say no merlot, fine. Ordered food, for the lady to return 20 minutes after ordering to advise the pie of the day, was no longer steak and ale but the Christmas Pie. No thanks. Once the food came (which was at all separate times I must add, being first and last about 20 minutes apart) and requesting more cutlery and condiments abit too many times, we finished up, paid and left. I hate to leave bad reviews, I could tell the two ladies were trying but could see they were clearly understaffed and overwhelmed. Clear example being that when my food was placed in front of me some onion rings fell off the plate onto the chair next to me. Instead of picking it up, the server apologised and then walked away. Only for it to stay there for the duration of the meal. If I could offer advice, it would be to invest in an update, more preparation incase of a busy period and knowing the menu and food available before taking a tables order, resulting in not having to waste time back and forth to the kitchen to ask what the soup of the day or pie is. Veg barely warm staff were apologetic and gave us money off the bill.But we did go there for a hot lunch.came home and had cheese on toast. Needs to be a person overlooking the food and recovering dishes that have no lids so they stay hot. All this was being done after we complained.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear! Booked for 1pm and didn't get a drink till 13:20. It gets worse as we aren't allowed to go up for the cavery till 2pm! Was it worth the wait? No,No, NO! Utterly terrible. Meat was horrible looking and totally unappetising, veg was raw and the roast potatoes were hard inside and soggy on the out. Gravey had run out and a replacment was nowhere to be seen. Labels for vegetarian options were also nonexistent! This is quite possibly the worst cavery I have ever seen! The price for this abomination £11:95! I wouldn't risk coming here for a meal if I were you!
