Just simple good priced food that all tasted great and the staff was lovely!! The breakfast was delicious and the tea was perfect!

Well my daughter and myself had the misfortune to have lunch at this Cafe today was very shabby. The Sullan waitress took our order after me asking whether I could possibly have a small portion of chips. No only large then to hear the cook say to her, I haven’t got f++king time to sort that out, I went to the counter and asked the sullan waitress whether that comment was meant for us. She said no that’s my father and we were talking about someone else so it looks like maybe they talk about all their customers like that apart from the yokels that go there every day . The reason I gave one star was because the chips were very nice, but the rest of it I would not recommend this cafe to anybody

Dropped into this Cafe with my 2 grown up daughters and was starving as we had driven from London....Lovely cosy cafe yes...busy yes....Polite staff yes we found a seat and began ordering.....No Hash browns.."we don't sell them" (we were offered chips) No Mushrooms, again "we don't sell them" No Tinned Tomatoes....Sorry we don't sell them? Really I thought all Cafe's sold these "extras" anyway we had their breakfast which was very nice to be fair and a nice cuppa tea....with some tiny little improvements this could be the best cafe in Dereham..

my dad and i absolutely love this cafe.service is lightning quick and served by the lovely becky.we usually have egg,bacon and chips which is very tasty with fantastic chips. Very nice cuppa too! Have eaten here many times now, staff excellent and the food is amazing, extremely good value and the chips are the best ever.

Service is always fantastic, food portions are huge and food is delicious. Been in hundreds of times and will always come back.

I have been here a total of 4 times now and it is now my favourite place to go for a full English and I am fussy, the waitress is so polite and upon my second visit she remembered my whole order including extras!!! You can’t train this kind of service and attention to detail so if you’re after a comfy lil cafe with good food and very reasonable prices this is the place for you. Thank you Norfolk Kitchen. We will be back again and again.

A great meal today. Portions were generous and the service was quick and friendly. The tables were spotless and we noticed the areas were cleaned after each visitor left. Thank you for a thoroughly enjoyable lunch.

Great to be back for a lovely lunch today after such a long break for lockdown. As usual spotlessly clean with all COVID safety measures in place . Can’t fault the service or the food. Everything freshly prepared in a timely manner. In all the years we have been going here we have never had a bad meal, would definitely recommend.

Traditional little cafe, with truly lovely staff. Nostalgic like a cafe I remember growing up. Chips and other food brilliant. What more can I say. Great service with a smile!

I have visited twice now, and will go again when next in Dereham. The place is small but spotless, you can see clearly into the kitchen, and it is usually pretty full. The menu is as most small cafés, but the quality of the food is excellent, we had cod and chips and it was some of the best we've ever had, not greasy, fresh cooked and a big portion. The staff are friendly and helpful, when we arrived there were only small tables left, not that it put us off, we ordered (at the table, no queues) and when the waitress arrived with our food she took us to a larger table that had cleared while we waited. She was friendly, and very well presented. All in all, excellent, fabulous, and I highly recommend it.

Great breakfast and great price. Only i found and its with most cafes is they deep fry there sausages (why why) I think the whole breakfast thingy is the qualty of the sausage and if deep fried it just kills the taste.

We were looking for somewhere to eat lunch in Dereham and were so very happy we found the Norfolk Kitchen. It is what all local cafes should be like. Friendly staff and customers, freshly cooked food (you can see it being cooked) and spotlessly clean. What a breath of fresh air. You can spend 5 times as much money and get awful food elsewhere and even worse service. In fact we did yesterday but that's another review! The Norfolk Kitchen is great and if you are looking for good fresh food, fair prices and comfortable surroundings, then this is the place for you.

The Norfolk Kitchen is in the centre of Dereham with thirty minutes free parking in the bays outside. Very clean and tidy little cafe , menu is varied and the food very tasty . Always busy with locals so it has a good reputation , toilets are very clean, so is the kitchen area. Service is quick and cheerful , well worth a visit.

Went in for coffee . Ended up having lunch . Was a Saturday .busy but good service . Food was nice and good price . I had liver and onions that was lovely

Think it’s deteriorated to the other times we used this venue. Place could do with a refurb and a coat of paint.

By far the best breakfast in Dereham. Cafe is always clean. Staff are always well presented and friendly. Becky who works there is always friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is always cooked fresh, hot and yummy! Prices are very reasonable.

Best egg and chips in Norfolk, great value for money too! Service is quick but it is dated, if you go on a Saturday expect to wait as it gets very busy.

Visited a couple of times while on holiday in Yaxham. Excellent coffee great value and friendly staff.

Know the family as were my neighbours. Michael the owner also does the cooking. Very clean and down to earth Cafe. A sure place for breakfast.

I came in with my son when i first moved here and was told children dont normaly come in so they dont have a high chair. I still ate and the food was lovley but felt a cold shoulder from the waitress. I fort id come in agian this morning and asked about card machine the lady once agian looked me up and down and made me so unwelcome. Shes tutted as i browsed the menu so i left and went else where. I cant help but feel the front lady is mybe a little unwelcoming towards children or just doesnt like me. Either way its a shame as i am a buisness owner and no if she smiled i and my family would have enjoyed this cafe. Shame i wont be trying a 3rd time.

Have visited here on many occasions with my family, as the business is family run it reflects on the friendliness of the service. The food is always fresh and hot, and there’s always plenty of it!!

It's where the good folk of Derham get together on market-day mornings: everyone knows everyone else and although they may opt for a cuppa and a toasted teacake, but I recommend you go for the 'special' breakfast.

great place to stop for a cuppa or lunch and not spend a fortune but be sure to get good food. very popular so allow time to get a seat and don't hang around too much

Very good at what they do. I've had a few breakfasts in here now. Staff serve quickly and with smile. Extremely clean inside. Decor is a little dated, but I hope they keep it as it adds to the experience. Will be back.

Ordered the full breakfast. Was at my table within minutes. Food was brilliant. Fried bread amazing, bacon superb. Small niggle was the sausage was cheap but so was the meal so no complaints. 9.5/10

Michael is the owner who loves to clean. His food is great and the place is warm welcoming to all. highly recommend this place for breakfast too.

Tied to the chip shop next door, this offers a welcome break from shopping, etc as it is bank in the middle of the town (in the Market Square). Always busy so it's obviously good quality food and refreshemnts at a reasonable cost.

This is a no nonsense little café, and the people who run it are very friendly. They serve tea coffee cakes and sausage rolls, as well as breakfasts and light lunches. Not too expensive, and just the thing for a quick snack.

Los mejores huevos con jamón y patatas fritas, el hígado es bueno también. Adecuado comidas caseras que no romper el banco. Estado viniendo aquí desde que era un niño, y cuando volvamos en Dereham es una visita obligada. No esperes ningún lujo buena comida honesta, raciones generosas, un servicio amable y una excelente relación calidad-precio. Suerte que no vivo cerca, no sería bueno para la línea!

Just what the doctor ordered!! A proper sit in cafe with proper cooked food. Very well presented and reasonable prices. Cannot find fault with anything here, the food was served piping hot and plenty of it, Becky, the waitress, was lovely, and very efficient! Went in at lunch time and didn't have to wait long for the food at all. A must if you're in town and want a proper sit down meal!! Would recommend to everyone!!

Not somewhere to take your girlfriend on a romantic night out, but, if you want somewhere with simple well-cooked home-made grub then this place is it. Everything is basic - chicken and chips with gravy, pork shops, etc, but it tastes like it was cooked at home and there's plenty of it. The decor is amazing - nothing, absolutely nothing, has changed since the 1970's, a complete time-warp of a place, but it works. A visit here should be on everyone's bucket list.

I've eaten here countless times over the years and if you are in Dereham and need a quick snack then this is the place! It's old fashioned but very clean and the waitress has been there for years and knows all the regulars. Service is quick and you can get all the basic stuff like egg and chips, bacon sandwiches, beans on toast at VERY reasonable prices and it's always nicely cooked and piping hot. The tea and coffee is always just right for me and I have never once had to complain about anything here. This is good, old fashioned catering at its best. No frills, no fuss and nothing served up on lumps of wood or slate thank goodness.Oh and they have the cleanest toilets anywhere in Dereham.

I have been eating in the Norfolk Kitchen all my life and I have never been disappointed. Everything is fresh cooked real food. Everything is reasonably priced and real comfort food. Becky is quite possibly the worlds best waitress knowing exactly what every regular what's and when. If you're ever passing through Dereham and want to grab a bite to eat I beg you to make Norfolk Kitchen your choice of venue and not one of the numerous chain establishments in the town.

We stopped here for breakfast on a recent visit and were pleasantly surprised. Service was great, we were greeted by a very friendly waitress who took our drinks order while we looked at the menu. We both went for the breakfast special which comprised, one sausage, two rashers of bacon, fried egg, fried bread, beans, bread and butter. Yes the produce is value brand but it was freshly cooked, hot and for £4.00 what do you expect. The cafe is a bit dated but it was very clean and there was a constant flow of customers. I would definitely go back.

Our weekly trip to Dereham market on a Friday finds us visiting the The Norfolk Kitchen where a warm welcome is part of the service when we order our Cappuccino‎,tea and two of Becky's home made scones. It is noticeable that we see many of the same locals each time we visit the Norfolk Kitchen which indicates they return each week for the friendly service and food like we do..

Best for breakfast food wise, a large fresh breakfast and service with a smile. Not particularly modern inside but always clean and tidy. Family run business and this friendliness shows in the service.

We visit Norfolk Kitchen on a regular basis, staff are always friendly and very prompt to serve. The portions are always very generous and it's all freshly cooked to order.

I used to eat in the Norfolk Kitchen 35 years ago - it hasn't changed a bit !Decor, tables, etc are the exactly the same and the whole place inside is very late seventies. Could not possibly be in a more central position, smack bang in the middle of the marketplace.Having said that, you go in for food and what I had was very good. Went in for breakfast and for what we paid, it was excellent. Freshly cooked and plenty of it, just the job.

I am completely shocked about how many good reviews there are about this place - what - ever type of breakfasts do these people cook at home because I'm not a brilliant cook but my god I out shine that maybe we should of had the chips that most seem to rave about !!!! They are definitely NOT quality sausages as that is the one thing I don't buy is crap sausages - the fried bread was very soggy and full of oil - bacon was undercooked - tomatoes not cooked - the customer service average - but the best part as not to be to negative was the hot milky coffee. However if you are ever out at loddon like we were on Monday just gone then go to rosy lees tearoom - that's a great breakfast and really nothing is to much trouble

Had breakfast there this morning. Wasn't massive, but I prefer quality than a massive plate of grease. Was a good sized plate for £4 and if I'm working this way again, would definitely come back here again.

Been in here many times since around 1990, great food in old fashioned surroundings at good prices.Proper chips (from chippy I think) and quality sausages are a delight in their sausage, egg and chips.Service not always as good as it could be, perhaps its how Norfolk people are!

This restaurant offers a good quality meal cooked to your order. The waitress is excellent and is quick and friendly. The size of the meals is excellent and they are always served hot. The restaurant overlooks a busy market square and is usually very busy. BUT its always worth waiting for a seat.

we came across this café after walking out of wetherspoons for bad/rude non service and how glad we are that we did, drinks were priced cheaper and were good , food was good too , service with a smile , clean tables , looking at their menu everything was reasonably priced and portion sizes were good . will definitely visit here again when we are in the area

My husband and I went here for lunch earlier today and as usual we were pleasantly reminded of what great value for money it is here!The waitress is lovely and it's very very very clean. The food is cooked quickly and you won't be left feeling hungry as the portions are huge for the price!!

this restautant is a "must visit" if you are ever in dereham. its a family run business and nothing is to much trouble. i have been using this daily for lunch for 5 years and never had a bad meal!! food is freshly cooked and the home made chips are lovely!!! its spotless clean through out including the lavatories! quality of food for the money is outstanding!

I lived in dereham a long time time ago and would go into Norfolk kitchen a lot for my lunch. I have just recently moved back to the area and went in with my family. We sat down at was greater by a very polite waitress she asked what we wanted my 2 children asked for there's first she was very polite and answered there questions me and my husband then gave our order. We didn't wait long and our drinks had arrived she gave the children there's then ours. When our food arrived it was all very fresh and there was clean plates from us all. Was very surprised at the price as it was deffo value for money. When ever we now go into dereham my 2 children (5 and12) always ask to go in there for food. Would deffo recommend and will be going back again

Every time we go into the town centre we always pop in for either a drink or food,normally a delicious freshly cooked hot breakfast. My children are always made to feel welcome and nothing is too much trouble especially for my fussy 6 year old daughter. I would highly recommend this lovely friendly café.

I took my family into Norfolk Kitchen for breakfast and it was lovely, freshly cooked food none of this cook and re-heat business. We also on the same day had our lunch there yet again brilliant food quick service, didn't have to wait for long with the food being brought to us and it was very busy with a queue out of the door.

Super little place in the heart of East Dereham. Lovely coffee, large plates of quality chips with the usual accompaniments - bacon, eggs etc., as well as fish and chicken. Very good value for money at sensible prices. Clean, friendly, efficient and comfortable.

How in the hell can these people be giving this place over average marks?!?!?! CrazyAnyways onto the main event.I went into this resteraunt with my disabled uncle for a quick bite to eat and a drink even though i wasnt hungry and he was. Anyway we sat down, the young lady asked us what we wanted. We just said a coke and a plate a chips for him. And literally she FORCED me to order something or i would be asked to leave. This blonde haired waitress would of made my disabled uncle eat and drink on HIS OWN! NUTS!!!So we ordered and i noticed that the chips we were served were EXACTLY like the ones from the chip shop NEXT DOOR!! And charging us MORE!!INSANEI will NEVER EVER be visiting this JOKE of a resteraunt any more in my entire life!

I love the Norfolk kitchen not just because my family owns it and it has been passed down in generation but the food is delicious it is brilliant value very cheap lovely chips! :D lovely warming place friendly staff :)

The family has eaten here on several occasions and always found it a pleasant stop with good food. On my most recent visit, I stopped in for a quick breakfast. I had 2 eggs, beans, 2 slices of toast and a cup of tea for £4. The atmosphere is friendly, with a dated diner/café arrangement. This does not really detract from the overall feel of the place, however. The food is well cooked (eggs are pan fried and served sunny-side up unless you request them flipped when ordering). The toast comes buttered, and tea is a good brew. In addition to the standard breakfast fare (eggs, bacon, etc.), the Norfolk Kitchen offers grills, and other classic British café/diner selections.The service is quick and friendly. Not gourmet, but perhaps better for it. In short - good basic grub.
