Outrageous to say the least!!!! Staff as helpful as a chocolate fire guard, totally clueless, over charged my card massively, £5 for a kids cone of icecream! Pub mucky, toilets 🤮 avoid at all costs. Wouldn’t eat here if it was for free. Staff useless. Food outrageous, never been charged £5 for a icecream not even at a high end ice cream parlour. They was a reason the pub was empty. Staff have no idea what their doing. Took 30 minutes to simply bring out a kids icecream cone. Total rip off and dirty

Honestly it was a laugh or cry experience! Absolutely awful!!! They made prices up, over charged us, refused to come and speak to us and didn’t seem interested in us one little bit! I’ll now go on to the cleanliness, or lack of!!! Sticky, smelly and pretty scary put it this way I’m glad we cancelled our food order! The place was empty and I can see why the word has clearly got round! Avoid avoid avoid. One simple ice-cream took 30 mins to come out, it was £5 and the dam thing looked as sad as the venue!!!!

Not much selection, over priced, menu not clear. My friend ordered roast pork sandwich. Was literally dry pork on a hard panini, no veg, stuffing, just a small pot of gravy. 2 of us have had dodgy tummys since leaving. Hardly anyone in but food took a while to come. We will not return for either food or drinks or recommend despite it being local to us

Good accommodation, very good service, very friendly staff and everything was absolutely wonderful right up until the barmaid heard us talking about model trains and compared me to Sheldon on the Big Bang Theory. For the record, Model trains are very interesting and provide much excitement, so much so that sometimes, I can hardly contain myself. Les Mis in the West End? Macbeth at the National? Taylor Swift in Berlin? Nothing beats a Saturday Evening calculating a working railway timetable for a model of a Hill and Barnsley Railway branch-line complete with a prototypical fully interlocked signalling system - those long winter evenings simply fly by in our house. And if you don’t believe me just ask my ex-girlfriend.

I had booked a table for 8 family members (no children) after attending a funeral nearby. We arrived early and the doors weren’t open, but a lovely lady who I think was the landlady (I really should’ve asked), saw us all standing in the rain and let us in. We used to go there many, many years ago before it became a hotel and it was lovely to see all the changes to the place while still keeping a lot of the original character. The service was really good and the food was amazing! We didn’t have long to wait before our order was taken and all 8 meals came out at the same time. It didn’t look like any had been kept warm or overcooked and it was all really delicious. Portions were huge and prices very reasonable. We will definitely be going back for a happier occasion.

4 adults 1 child, asked if we had to book told there was a few in so might have to wait, there was about 6 people in. Found a table and ordered, Waited well over an hr and was very disappointed when it came. Mushroom stroganoff said it came with handmade bread, it came out with nann bread, wasn't a very big portion, my daughter only got 2 chicken dippers, she's 11 and was still hungry. My husband and dad ordered pie, the chips were overdone and the mushy peas were dried up. Not good at all, they knocked first round of drinks off cus of the wait but the food was shocking. Won't be going g back.

Our second visit and wow food once again amazing. Kelly is lovely and welcoming and Luke the chef is very highly talented. Very highly recommended we will definitely be back well done guys xxx

Stayed here for two nights whilst visiting Sheffield and district. Comfortable, welcoming and quiet situation.Enjoyed good food and drink both evenings and excellent breakfasts. Good ambience enjoyed by all ages, locals, visitors, cyclists and walkers. Used country road for short ride to Malin Bridge Park and Ride. Excellent tram connection to city centre avoiding nightmare parking. Good stopping point for Peak District. Staff superb and genuinely helpful.

Decided to give this place another go as heard it had changed hands and seeing some pictures on Facebook. Total waste of money, will not return despite living locally. Service is extremely slow despite not being that busy. Ordered a meat feast pizza, which, as per the menu is topped with 'chicken beef bacon pepperoni and fried onions', requested no onions. When the pathetic looking pizza finally arrived it was absolutely covered in green and yellow Peppers! When I queried this, the waitress did not apologise or offer any explanation just said 'you only asked for no onions'! No where on the menu did it say the pizza had Peppers. Also ordered 2 starters and 2 roast dinners, extremely long wait for the food then had to ask for some vegetables for the roasts. Poor quality meal, the photos advertised are nothing like what is served. No atmosphere in the pub, no background music just the sound of 2 dogs barking loudly in the bar area. Don't think it will be open much longer again.

Kelly and the staff stepped up to help when the previous venue for our weekend sewing retreat was unable to offer a service at the required standard. Unfortunately, they were unable to host us on the Sunday, but there were nine of us there all day on the Saturday, three of whom also stayed in the adjoining hotel on Friday and Saturday nights. I think it's fair to say that they couldn't do enough for us. The hotel rooms are lovely - huge rooms, comfortable beds, decent pillows, nice toiletries, massive big fluffy towels, amazing showers, plenty of hot water. There are a few very minor maintenance issues - a broken shelf in the wardrobe, broken window handle, maybe a couple of places where the paint would benefit from a touch up - but not enough to lower the score given. The food was fabulous. On Friday night I had 10 ounce 28 day hung rump steak, which was cooked to perfection, with masses of really thick chips. My only issue was that I had ordered the moules as a starter, and I was so full by the time my main came, that I perhaps didn't do it justice (but that's definitely a me problem, not a them problem). Breakfast was excellent too. I love eggs Benedict, so had that, but then added Cumberland sausage, black pudding and potato rosti as extras.... The nine of us had a variety of things for lunch, mainly sandwiches, served in baguettes with mixed salad and fries, but one person had the vegetarian pizza, which looked as though the dough had been hand stretched and which had a lot of fresh veg on. One point where they maybe fall down very slightly is in the hot drinks, but I would guess that's because they maybe don't serve a huge number of lattes. What we had was fine and reasonably priced, but there may be some scope to develop that, especially when some of the menu items are at a higher price point, where a really decent coffee would finish off the meal nicely. Many thanks to Kelly and the team for stepping up and making us feel so welcome!

Saw the new menu on their Facebook so gave it a try, it was really tasty. Mussels were fantastic and fish and chips were excellent. Really friendly staff and very dog friendly. Will happily go back soon!

After turning up last night with my family there was only one man sat in the bar / restaurant. I was a little wary but proceeded to order food. My wife had duo of pork that looked like you could knock a nail in with it. I had the Cumberland sausage which turned out to be 3 chipotle sausages cremated on a bed of smash a tea spoon of garden peas and a dribble of gravy. As soon as my meal arrived my 7 year old laughed that his meal was bigger than mine. My lad had pizza on a sub roll chips and beans. Considering my meal was £13 I was highly disappointed. We didn’t dare get the desert menu. This pub used to be a great place for food but through change of hands has dipped massively.

Arrived on a Thursday evening for an overnight stay for a work event the following day. The hotel/restaurant is a listed building and my room was in the converted stables. It was a lovely clean room and contained everything I needed. We had a wonderful meal for a group of 7 people in the restaurant - the meal was great quality and tasted lovely. The staff couldn't do enough for us and have a great rapport with customers and guests. They even allowed us to pre-order breakfast ready for 7am the next day (as we had an early start in the morning) and had to be on our way by 7.20am. It's a gem of a hotel and restaurant, and their staff are a credit to them. I'll definitely be back and will be recommending to anyone who will listen!

Went there after a nice walk from Sheffield city. Had to wait at least half an hour for our Panini’s with chips and salad. The Panini’s were average quality only and barely warm. The service was reasonable and friendly. Admittedly inside the pub there were quite a lot of people. We sat outside. We were disappointed with the lunch, and probably would not return for a midday meal.

Really nice well cooked food, varied menu and nice place. Been in here in the past but new chef and management and hope it does well because it was really nice. Chips are lovely but HUGE portions. The belly pork was probably some of the nicest I’ve ever eaten. Will be back soon!

We came on a Friday about 5pm it wasn’t very busy. Food came in an ok time but was very average, we had been told it was under new management and had improved which, it had but not to the standard we were expecting for the price we paid. Service was poor… no one came to check now our meals were (they had brought a wrong side out so we never actually had chance to tell them) They forgot one side also, which they did bring out when asked. Whilst we were eating we heard a full story and staff member bitc**** about one of the chefs so that was free entertainment that we didn’t ask for 🙈 Overall I thought that staff morale was just poor and you could tell they didn’t want to be there! No one came to take our plates and we needed up paying at the bar even though it was table service. I wouldn’t recommend and won’t be returning.

Just had an impromptu visit for Sunday lunch. The service was excellent, really friendly staff and Sunday lunch was amazing. Everything was very good quality and home cooked. Would definitely recommend.

It was our first visit to the Norfolk on Friday and we were more than impressed. The the menu had a great variety and the food was delicious! I also got to sample their Pornstar Martini cocktails which were beautiful! We will definitely be visiting again in the next few weeks!

I have stayed in some bad hotels in my time but this is by far the worst. Room was spacious and warm that’s all the positives I could say. Room was dirty, there was damp all over the walls, beds were uncomfortable, payed for breakfast to turn up the next morning and the resteraunt was shut, Phoned manager to have the phone put down on me. Never again will I pay to stay here.

No he visitado durante algunos años, pero mis padres visitan aquí regularmente para el asador dominical. Recientemente decidí unirme a ellos, soy vegetariano, así que decidí no comer el asador y comí la lasaña de verduras. Estaba delicioso, posiblemente una de las mejores lasañas de verduras que he probado, muy sabroso y una porción de buen tamaño, personal agradable y amable también.

Good pub food done proper.... If you want a good meal with friendly welcoming staff then I'd recommend this pub. Reasonable prices and great quality... Busy but didn't feel rushed. Will be coming back

Bueno, no me decepcionó, era hermoso y merece ser mucho más alto en Trip Advisor, todo preparado fresco, una muy buena elección en el menú y un personal especial de la junta realmente amable. Si te gusta la buena comida casera, este es el lugar para ti que recomiendo encarecidamente.

The Norfolk Arms was recommended to visit for a meal. 4 of us went, one being a vegetarian. We had Tapas, fish and chips, the Rodeo burger and the Halloumi burger. Everything was spot on. The staff were friendly and the surroundings comfortable. I would definately recommend to friends and colleagues.

The bed was really uncomfortable, had to sleep on the floor. The tv didn’t even work. The decor was tacky and there was scuff marks on the walls. I think it’s fair to say I will not be staying here again.

Didn't know how to check out, there was no information provided on where to leave the key. Made me feel very uncomfortable and wary. Would describe the hotel as more of a basic motel. A good, basic place to stay overnight to break up a long journey. Prices are good and include a cooked breakfast. Made to feel welcome.

Each year we book a Christmas Meal with our Scout District Friends and this year we chose The Norfolk Arms mainly because it’s reputation proceeds itself and we weren’t disappointed. An excellent meal with various mixed Christmas Fayre from Turkey to Salmon. A bland starter of Breaded Mushrooms stops me giving it full ratings other than that the Turkey Meal complete with even parsnips was brilliant and the Christmas Pudding very tasty with extra custard provided as standard. Too many pub type establishments are too stingy with custard so this was just a small attention to detail that made the difference. Friends had The Gingerbread Sundae that had me almost wishing I’d had that instead of Christmas Pud, once more not a stingy proportion like many places. Overall great meal and they upheld their reputation in fine style.

Just passing on way home from visiting in hospital and saw board 2 meals £15 and thought we’d give it a try and we’ll definitely be back what great food my husband had fish and chips which he assures me was very good I had the liver and onions the veg was all fresh no frozen and all cooked to perfection service excellent too served as soon as we walked in.

Usamos para venir aquí con regularidad (la cena de Navidad del año pasado fue increíble), pero algunos comentarios negativos de los demás después de su reciente reacondicionamiento y menú lo desalentaron. Tenía familia así que decidí darle otra oportunidad para el almuerzo del domingo. ¡No nos decepcionó! La mayoría de nuestro grupo tenía el asador y todos estuvieron de acuerdo en que era delicioso. La carne era tierna, las verduras cocinadas a la perfección y el tamaño de la porción correcta. ¡Tenía lasaña y era enorme! Quizás un poco caro a las 11 pero estaba lleno de sabor y no quería dejar ni un bocado. Nuestro camarero fue muy atento y amable. Definitivamente regresaremos muy pronto.

Desde que el hotel fue asumido, los cambios son enormes. Las habitaciones están limpias y ordenadas, todo el personal es amable y si hay una preocupación es que la comida que ofrecen puede durar un día. Como celíaca, tengo que ser cauteloso acerca de dónde como pero aquí harán todo lo posible para asegurarse de que tenga comida sana sin gluten, incluso salir y comprarme más.

El mantenimiento básico de la sala no se lleva a cabo: superficies escamosas, pantallas de ducha en el suelo pelado, persianas raídas, iluminación deficiente. Fuerza WIFI pobre en la habitación final. A la mañana siguiente fuimos a desayunar y al cocinero no nos habían dicho que nos esperara. Habiendo pedido 2 desayunos ingleses completos, eso era todo lo que había, no había jugo de fruta, ni cereales ni nada, y esperaban 6. 95 cada uno por eso! Veo que ahora ofrecen nuestro trato con un 49% de descuento y con desayuno gratis.

This pub has some great tasting local ales. The amber ale was really good. However, the Sunday roast had no taste. Carrots were not sweat, needed a good dose of salt. The staff were great and really took care of our party.

Really don't understand or recognise why this hasn't got better reviews - maybe its changed hands. I've been here twice in the last couple of months and had great food & service both times. Staff are really friendly and the food tastes fresh. Prices are fine too. Can't comment on the rooms but the food is great and I'm quite picky.

This is my first visit since refurbishment. Initial impression as I walked in was the smell of paint. Understandable and not unpleasant. Bar staff and waiter were both pleasant, welcoming and efficient.

Firstly, if it was possible to rate worse than terrible it would get the lowest of the low.

Went here today to meet family for lunch . Ordered a drink whilst we waited for them to arrive and asked for a menu to be looking at . When we opened the menu it was dirty with all drink splashes inside. The barstaff wiped it but never returned it to us I had to get it. The menu is very poor and very expensive if I wanted to pay 19.95 for a sirloin steak it would be somewhere far nicer and £10.95 for pie is way over the top . Obviously trying to get the money back for the poor quality refurbishment it's had . We had a drink and went somewhere else for lunch

It's a smashing place, made better by a recent refurbishment - staff are brilliant and it's always a pleasure to visit. Food is beautiful!

Been in for lunch today and was pleasantly surprised. We have been using this pub on and off for a long time, but haven't been for a while, as the last time we went the food was terrible. New landlord and new chef have made an enormous difference. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. The pub is undergoing a refurbishment and we will definitely visit again when it reopens on 8th December.

We usually don't even bother with the menu as we know we couldn't get better gammon in Yorkshire it used to be over an inch thick and you didn't need the steak knife provided it was that tender, what a contrast when we was served with something that resembled a bad Witherspoon meal the accompanying salad was poor and the two thin onion rings were burnt to go with the pineapple.when we complained the waiting staff were embarrassed but you had a feeling they were used to saying sorry as we heard it many times that night , may I add the staff did a brilliant and professional job and were not the cause of this restaurants decline the responsibility lies solely on the management for being greedy and putting profit margins before customers.Will not be returning

Was invited by family to go for tea. Our order was taken at approximately 6.40/6.45pm At 7.10pm we asked how long our meals would be and were told that the food for another table had to be done first as they had ordered first. Fair enough. We had ordered within a few minutes of each other. At 7.40pm I had to leave as I had somewhere else to be by 8.00pm. I rang my family later and discovered that it had taken 1hrs 10 minutes for the food to arrive. For a restaurant I think this is intolerable especially as a lot of the food will be pre prepared. It has certainly put me off going again.

We've been twice now The bar and waiting staff are very polite and welcoming both times we've had the 2 for a tenner meals not a huge selection but whatever we've had has been good Will come back again

We'd not been hear for a while, we'd fallen out with the place! The food had gone down hill. But I can now safely say that all of that has been taken care of. The food was delicious, the service brilliant (he never stopped). We will definitely be coming back here again. The decor has been updated from when we were last in and you see this but it does need a refurb but don't let this put you off as the staff and food certainly make up for this, like everything else it all takes and and money.

Went with workfriends for tea as its close by. Ordered the burgers on 2 for £10, offer said on website til 4, menu said 4:45, barman said all day! Food was very quick. Burgers very tasty. Chips good, homemade proper chips. Missing a garnish, could do with a little salad to balance the plate. I ordered coleslaw & really regretted it. It was far too mayonnaise heavy, literally swimming. Couldn't eat it and I finish nearly everything. Drinks are fairly pricey compared to food. The place is nice enough for a local pub, don't expect anything fancy. Nice beer garden.

Went with friends for a Sunday lunch.... The food was lovely....the place could do with updating but the staff are all friendly and polite except for the lady cook who kept coming out of the kitchen and moaning about other members of staff and just stood around.... Would go again though

The rooms are clean and well spaced out the bed and bedding are clean Nice clean bathroom The staff are friendly and helpfulEspecially Tom Would stay here again and again The food is ok The drinks are reasonable I enjoyed my stay there Thankyou to the staff for making us feel welcome and greeted us as we arrived and leftI would recommed this place for over night stay or for a couple of nights

This pub has a wide range of beers and a beer garden some of which is covered. It's clientelle range from students to artists. So there is much lively conversations.

We have visited this pub so many times because we could be guaranteed a good meal for a reasonable price. We visited about a month ago and did not have a very good meal but put it down to bad luck but we visited again a few days ago and found that once again the food was very disappointing . They advertise the fact that they make their own chips and onion rings which are normally lovely but the last 2 visits the onion rings have been awful. They seem to be cutting corners and using cheaper ingredients which is reflected in the quality of the meals they serve. The service is good but we will not be visiting again.
