Hardy Pick in Sheffield

Only reason for 4 stars is that for a smaller portion, that only cost £1.50 than the larger one, I ended up with a piece of hunters chicken less but on the whole it was very nice. Plus we won on the gaming machine so it didn't actually cost anything for the dinner. Only other thing was a giggling lady who was like a hyena and squeaked like a petrified mouse, which stopped us from hearing each other.

The thing that makes this place great is the staff. We came on a busy Sunday afternoon and they were full so we waited at the bar and the staff got us a table when one was free. They came over and asked if the food was okay which it was! Great place.

We always enjoy our experience at the Hardy Pick, the food is always enjoyable and the Staff are always friendly and helpful. We come hear quite often and we always come in as a family on Christmas Eve. Superb.

Huge car park & cheap drinks, a large range of all your favourites. It's for families but fine to stop for a pint and watch the footie on the big screen or chill on the patio. The outdoor seating gets the sun in spring and summer. Staff are super friendly & fast - they know how to serve drinks. Had breakfast and coffee here and it hit the spot, other meals look big and hearty. I'd recommend HH highly!

Whether you’re here for a casual drink or some food, this place is an absolute gem and has become a firm favourite for my weekly catch ups with my dad. The staff are brilliant, but a special shoutout goes to Tom and Alicia, who always go above and beyond to make us feel welcome.

Went there recently with family and friends, my 1st visit. Wasn't disappointed. Staff really friendly and the food was spot on. Definitely going again.

Good pub food, my step dad had to choose three times due to food not being available on the menu but for the rest of us everything was available, a family of five ate and it was good food, quick service and we hadn't pre-booked but it was NYE and they fitted us in and service was good.

I have 9 grandchildren and I bring them here for what we call cousin nights so they keep in touch with each other. All kinds of food available for their huge appetites and no prep or washing up 😃

Waited over an hour had the steak sizzler and the steak was like leather couldn’t chew it even tho I ask for medium rare took a while to be served for drinks aswell

What a friendly place, every time I have been here the staff have been fabulous. This last time was no exception. We requested our favourite table when we booked online and they were able to sit us there. We started a tab for our drinks and meal and each time we approached the bar to order something the staff recognised us and had our tab open instantly. Beth was super helpful and friendly and we're sorry we didn't catch the names of everyone else. The food arrived promptly and was tasty and hot. My Father hadn't been before but said he'd love to go there again. A very pleasant experience.

Staff were nice and atmosphere is good but the quality of food, all though cheap, is not great! I had fish and chips and the chips and peas were lovely but the fish tasted earthy like stale ice (if there is such a thing)? And looked like skin was on and stuck to batter as it fried! Although a big piece of fish I’d rather have a smaller portion at better quality! I was really looking forward to it as well. Otherwise can’t really knock this place but the battered fish was off putting!

Liv gave us great service, she really went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed and that the kids were looked after. Lovely family atmosphere.

Went for a meal last night with my daughter and the service was excellent. Sat at table 13 at 5pm and infortunatley didn’t get the staff members name however great customer service as the first meal was not as it should be - it was swapped without quibble - I didn’t even have to ask! Have a 4* for the food - as I did have to return the first meal however the second was perfect.

Family friendly restaursnt, plenty of free parking. Good selection of food and excellent service especially Beth.

Always clean, always feel welcome. Tremendous value for money. Love sitting in the beer garden on a summer's day. *Update* Still call in weekly and it's still performing on every level. It might not be for everyone but when it comes to a family pub, it delivers. UPDATE: 8 10 24 Nice family gathering at short notice. The Hardy Pick delivered again! I had an amazing experience at hardy pick the other day the food was amazing and the service was 10/10. Our waitress Olivia was incredible very attentive and had a smile on her face the whole time.

The atmosphere was great and the staff were awesome. The food was okay but the burgers tasted slightly odd. I think it was because of the salad underneath but overall it was a nice experience. I'll be ordering something different next time

Good range of gluten free options and cheap cocktails. The super specials are sloppy good too! Very family friendly and relaxed.

Terrible overcooked food, chicken skewers were rock hard, how diff can it be, it's just rehydrate or deep fried food.

Ordered rump steak, which was mostly fat and gristle, on a bed of peppers (why?) with a peppercorn sauce which I didn't touch. Kids running around. We were not aware at that time that there's a 18s only area. Saving grace was the sticky toffee bourbon pudding. My favourite. Delicious.

New menu since my last visit. Prices up, quality down. Sign of the times I guess. On a positive note the staff are still lovely and the place is still nice.

Great food reasonably priced, plenty of parking.

On this occasion there was a kids party so it was quite noisy, but the staff were helpful and friendly.

It's a chain, it's not a bad example of a chain and it's cheap.

Come here every week with a gentleman I support. Staff are always friendly and very patient with the person I support due to his learning difficulties. The food is great and better than other GK/HH pubs I've been in. Would recommend the Katsu Chicken Banquet 😁👍

Brilliant place to come for a meal or for several drinks. The bar staff go out of their way to make sure everything is fine especially Alicia.

Came for a work birthday lunch today. The staff went above and beyond, Made the table lovely which was a nice surprise. Food was served quick and was lovely.

We have just had 3 meals in the pub + Drinks we found it very comfortable good food and really good service we only waited 10 minutes for the food to arrive and it was hot and well presented thank you Mr & Mrs Layhe and Guest.

The rump steak us the best I've had from pub meals, had a chocolate fudge dessert which was nice, with ice cream, oh my, I don't know where the ice creams from, maybe Iidl. It's pure white and tasty really cheap, wasnt nice so i left the ice cream. Spoilt a decent dessert that cost around £5.50. I'll stick to my usual chocolate torte in future.

Now £4,30 for a pint of Carlxng, time to find a different pub.

Good adults area of the pub, been with the family before in the main part too. Only gripe is the toilets have seen better days.

Go for the pub Quiz on a Tuesday. Good fun.

Excellent Sunday roast . I like the over 18s area which was quiet. And the Grand Prix was on tv.

It's a Hungry Horse chain pub and restaurant, so you get the same food menu and drinks, as in other HH pubs. The food was delicious (sea bass with garlic mash). Good selection of beers beyond standard 'lagers, ciders+Guinness' set. The toilets were clean, plenty of parking and plenty of seats to choose from.

Not been for a while and I was pleasantly surprised the food was a lot better the service was brilliant I couldn't fault it. We will definitely be going back.

Great place for cheap pub food. The quality is not bad. Most importantly though, it's a great place to go with kids. They love the play area

Great service, great food, lovely staff. It was my first time eating here after reading some great reviews, will 100% eat here again.

I had the full English breakfast for lunch. It was very good. I had a mug of tea with it. I would prefer a pot of tea with a pot of hot water too, but full marks for it being Yorkshire tea.

The best hungry horse in sheffield, the horse shoe onion rings, chicken strips are fabulous, I can't fault any of the food. The staff like Leona are friendly and polite, there's also an adult only side

Food is good. Nothing spectacular but for the price it's very tasty. Service would have marked more but there's not much of it. They bring you food and are always pleasant but that's about it. But overall its good and me and my bestie go every week.

Here on Thursdays regularly menu good food service is quick and the staff are very good. Not a bad evening out at all.

Not a great experience, food was okay ordered sausage and mash for kids, the mash was bland no flavour to it. Partner ordered chicken new yorker came out with hardly any cheese on it, the fish was lovely.. The server was who brought our drinks to the table was RUDE.. just brought drinks on tables put them down and walked off. No comminution nothing not even here your drinks, it felt like she didn't wanna be there, the food came out separately not all together, Overall not happy with service and certainly won't be coming back, think staff need training how to interact with customers, certainly lacking customer service

Always a preferred place to eat…me and my mum always go here in the daytime with my nan…always great staff and service in the daytime…went yesterday at 6pm for my sisters 50th there was 15 of us altogether and the staff were really rude…two guys behind the bar with long hair were particularly ignorant and cocky…had to ask the one that served us to repeat numerous questions about our food numerous times due to his mumbling…we really felt like they didn’t want to even serve us…we went out for a cigarette and the smaller one said really cocky “oh bye then thanks”even though we weren’t leaving…we were of varying ages from 2-88 years and I’ve never had this sort of attitude in here before…shame it can’t always be the staff that work in the day as their lovely and helpful
