Not been for a while and I was pleasantly surprised the food was a lot better the service was brilliant I couldn't fault it. We will definitely be going back.

Always clean, always feel welcome. Tremendous value for money. Love sitting in the beer garden on a summer's day. *Update* Still call in weekly and it's still performing on every level. It might not be for everyone but when it comes to a family pub, it delivers.

Great place for cheap pub food. The quality is not bad. Most importantly though, it's a great place to go with kids. They love the play area

Huge car park & cheap drinks, a large range of all your favourites. It's for families really but fine to stop for a pint and watch the footie on the big screen or chill on the patio. The outdoor seating gets the sun in spring and summer. Staff are super friendly & fast - they know how to serve drinks. Had breakfast and coffee here and it hit the spot other meals look big and hearty. I'd recommend HH highly!

Great service, great food, lovely staff. It was my first time eating here after reading some great reviews, will 100% eat here again.

I had the full English breakfast for lunch. It was very good. I had a mug of tea with it. I would prefer a pot of tea with a pot of hot water too, but full marks for it being Yorkshire tea.

The best hungry horse in sheffield, the horse shoe onion rings, chicken strips are fabulous, I can't fault any of the food. The staff like Leona are friendly and polite, there's also an adult only side

Food is good. Nothing spectacular but for the price it's very tasty. Service would have marked more but there's not much of it. They bring you food and are always pleasant but that's about it. But overall its good and me and my bestie go every week.

Loved the whole experience. The only thing that let it down for me was the shortage of seating as there is a lot of walking

Here on Thursdays regularly menu good food service is quick and the staff are very good. Not a bad evening out at all.

Not a great experience, food was okay ordered sausage and mash for kids, the mash was bland no flavour to it. Partner ordered chicken new yorker came out with hardly any cheese on it, the fish was lovely.. The server was who brought our drinks to the table was RUDE.. just brought drinks on tables put them down and walked off. No comminution nothing not even here your drinks, it felt like she didn't wanna be there, the food came out separately not all together, Overall not happy with service and certainly won't be coming back, think staff need training how to interact with customers, certainly lacking customer service

Always a preferred place to eat…me and my mum always go here in the daytime with my nan…always great staff and service in the daytime…went yesterday at 6pm for my sisters 50th there was 15 of us altogether and the staff were really rude…two guys behind the bar with long hair were particularly ignorant and cocky…had to ask the one that served us to repeat numerous questions about our food numerous times due to his mumbling…we really felt like they didn’t want to even serve us…we went out for a cigarette and the smaller one said really cocky “oh bye then thanks”even though we weren’t leaving…we were of varying ages from 2-88 years and I’ve never had this sort of attitude in here before…shame it can’t always be the staff that work in the day as their lovely and helpful

Usually consistent and always good staff. Never any heating on and wait times at till/bar can get a bit too long. There are cheaper options but in the main it’s £12-£15 per mains. Sometimes quantities vary and sometimes the same meal some weeks is a smaller portion and not always that filling of late (this is called a Hungry Horse pub after all). Quantities seem to have been reduced and ‘Big Plate’ options are where I’ve seen this the most . Our recent visit we had half chicken which turned out not to be half a chicken as specified but a leg with a wing (no breast). Not as filling and not as advertised. Having said this I still think this pub is on the whole good at what it does; it has speedy service, great staff, varied menu and a good atmosphere with decent music, adults only area and for great for families too with sports tv in some areas; but is maybe cutting a few corners on food of late.

Arrived on a Saturday night after booking a table online. They had not checked bookings and therefore had to seat 5 adults in the family section in a 4 person booth. Food was nice but the atmosphere was like jump in or something. Not what we intended.

The staff are very friendly helpful and willing to go out of they're way make sure you have a great time and have a nice experience. And I enjoy the tribute acts which are one last Friday of the month. Also the sports programmes shown make it a good evening out.

First visit to the Hardy Pick and it won't be the last. Plenty of choice on the menu. The food was good, the waitress was welcoming and friendly and we didn't have to wait long until our meals were brought to our table.

I love being able to share good experiences and this place hands down is amazing! I have come a couple of times now and I don't even live near here but it's one of my favourite Sheffield pubs!! They have a big drinks selection for everyone from allsorts of beer, lager and cider on tap and of course my favourite... LOTS of spirits 😍🥰 rum, brandy, whisky, gin, wine whatever you could possibly want!!! Even tea and coffee 😁 Going on to the food.... I have never eaten anything here, thats not nice and delicious! The chicken new yorker is lovely and all their burgers too. On my last trip, I tried their Sunday dinners.... they do not hold back on portions (see pictures). The food is reasonably priced and personally I think it's cheap for the amount you get. All food is fresh and comes out steaming hot 🤤🤤🤤 It's a good place for friends to catch up, to bring the family for a meal and leading onto my next part, very kid friendly!! They have a gated play area on the back garden part and lots of lovely seating to relax on sunny days (if we ever have any🙄). Some arcades machines for children inside and a very wide ranged menu for adults and children. I want to applaude the staff, they are all friendly, very helpful and go the extra mile! There was a mess up with our order but they gave us free desserts and was very apologetic about it so we was happy! I want to mention naomi, our server at the time who was really friendly and amazing at her job and handled things professionally and had great customer service (give her a raise) 😁 So if you are looking for a good day out, I would recommend this place and give it 6 out of 5 stars if I could!!! @mantiumofficial @tektonik0 @t.a.g.0114

Love this place. The staff give great customer service, I walk up and they all ask if it’s an Carling and 2 bombs. Very rare you find a place that recognise what their customers usual order is. Their food is always great and comes out food, and their Tuesday quiz is a lot of fun. Always friendly, 10/10

We like coming to this pub with our kids. They do a really good job of offering healthy kids options at affordable prices which is rare at the moment. The kids enjoy the playground. The service is excellent, the staff are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. I don’t think the food is super quality but it is excellent value for money and served with kindness.

Weekly dinner out with work, food always good, and quickly served.

Been here many times before and always had a reasonable service. Thought we'd go and have a nice meal as it was valentines day. Asked a member of staff what time they stopped serving food and we were told last orders was about 20:45 for food, Ordered food around 20:15, was told by a different person that we would have to have our starters with the main course as they wanted to close the kitchen. The member of staff was not very polite or friendly. The starters came, luckily we had enough time before the main course even though we felt rushed. The steak came which was inedible due to the amount of fatty streaks, the burger was just cooked and had a few fries thrown on the plate. Watched another member of staff sat on the floor removing the seals off sauce bottles with her teeth, only to find out she was the manager. Not very hygienic. We did get our money back for the steak. Won't be going there again in a hurry.

Lovely meal with family, it's a busy place so best to book in advance. Great parking just outside and excellent value for money. Good sized portions of food and The Hardy Pick has different offers on each night. Food was good, arrived hot and I consider great value. Most main courses £10 or less! Good place for families and children.

All good apart from the steak in the pie wasn't good quality and fatty 😔 Breakfast good and the service was great so.. improving on meat quality would give you a five in future 😁

Sat at a table with no reserve label on , sat there a hour when one of the staff came over and said the table was reserved and put a reserve label on the table he said it had been there when we sat down , and i knew it had not been there he just laughed and walked away so left. he was so rude never again

The gents' toilets were disgusting and unusable, one of the loos was filthy and the other's door was covered in vomit.

2nd time back at Hardy Pick, this time with us Grandmas & Grandads on both sides and Grandaughter age 13. Better than last time, make sure it’s a double G&T. Back off home to Townsville next weekend 20 Jan 24. Steaks were huge and excellent. Salads are also very large and generous. See you next time we come back to Sheffield from Australia. Pleasant staff, food arrived quickly, was of a good standard & good portion sizes. Varied beer selection. Over 18s area with Sky sports & pool table is a bonus.

Average chain pub experience, menu very large but none of it great and I couldn't see any remotely healthy options . Food a bit bland but as expected, staff helpful

We visited on the Saturday evening before Christmas. We were disappointed to find that there were no menus on the table, which was perplexing as the bar was well staffed and not anywhere close to capacity. We ordered drinks and our meals. My brother had the fish and chips, which he said was alright. I had the Beyond Meat stack burger. The flavours were delicious. However, for something called a "stack", I did find it too small, I was certainly glad I ordered a side of macaroni cheese with it. I had a sticky toffee pudding with custard for pudding which was nice, especially the bourbon sauce. Another surprise was that the guests have to get cutlery themselves from a corner of the bar, which is a shame that they adopt such a "fast food chain" type approach. Most other bars manage to bring cutlery with the meals and the napkins were flimsy and small, I opted to wash my hands in the toilet sink instead. The whole bar was submerged in football screening, every single screen was showing a football match, which is ostracizing for those who don't like football. Myself and my brother were going to play pool but were unable to because of the screen directly behind the table. The service was alright, some staff were better than others but nothing remarkable. In summary, the food is flavoursome and good quality but small and the ambient lighting offers a warm welcome but the operations seem to be something of a identity crisis - McDonald's type chain or bar & restaurant? I will be returning but will remember to order extra because of the tiny portions - no wonder they are called Hungry Horse!

The Hardy pick was ok Just an average green king. The staff were grumpy and made It obvious they didn't was to be there. The veggie lasagne was mircowave that much bit was all shrivelled up. I wouldn't rush back there are better green king pubs.

Lovely hot food served very quickly. Fantastic service the staff couldn't do enough for you. We came to Sheffield from Hull to visit our grandaughter & always come back to the Hardy pick because we enjoy the friendly atmosphere. Definitely 10/10.

5 stars once again for a top night at the Hardy Pick for my annual works do. Greeted by Cassania and Tom with a festive smile and shown to the table which was perfectly suited for an entertaining evening. Fabulous food (highly recommend the Fairytale New York Burger on the Festive Menu) beautifully cooked and presented then an excellent Shania Twain tribute singer who entertained our shoes off!! Just brilliant. Thank you for a most memorable night 💖

Went for unplanned meal with mains n puddings. Young lad who took our order (believe he was called Frankie) was so polite and and socialable. Our meals came and were nice apart from the chicken sandwich on garlic ciabata - wasn't up to usual standard couldn't taste the "nacho cheese". When asked if meals were OK we mentioned to the girl who point blank said "we would have to order extra sauce if we needed it" ( no option on the menu), and there is normally enough on to taste. I spoke to another young girl at the end of meal (Bethany) who was more polite and pleasant regarding the food. Both Frankie and Bethany are a credit to the team Shame bout the sandwich 😥😡

We had to dine in the bar area where the games night/casino was in full flow with sport on TV too, so a bit loud. Sunday roasts (excepting the vegetarian option) sold out.

Lovely food, friendly staff. Great place for a family dinner out. Menu changes frequently enough to keep it interesting. Update. Recent changes to the menu has reduced the vegetarian options quite a lot unfortunately. Staff and service still excellent though.

Altogether very good. Chosen because gluten free and vegetarian options are many and varied. You get good sized portions for a very good price. Staff were excellent, friendly and welcoming. Would recommend.

Good food for really affordable price. 2x meals for £12. 8 people with drinks came to £78 which is a bargin.

On Friday the 27th Oct l went for lunch with my daughter and two grandsons. We had a great time. Food and service were fantastic. Highly recommended.

The food was great! I had the Sunday nut roast, cooked nicely, tasted great and a good size portion. I like that there is an adults only section where you can’t hear all the kids that are in the other side of the pub. Gets busier for the televised football.

The food here used to be good, as I went in for lunch every Friday, at the speed it came out it wasn't properly cooked , also smelt of chemicals on the baguette, very disappointed lately, still a warm and comfortable place, but the quality of food has gone down

Shocking food for the very first time ever Been loads of times but this times food was terrible Ordered at 830 as was told kitchen would be closing in 15 mins so ordered the 15 ounce gammon steaks The steaks were dry very dry Onion rings of three were fried together as were also dry Asked for runny eggs didn’t get that either Felt totallly rushed Was watching television at 9 and they just turned it off and made us very very uncomfortably as only ones left in and they were obviously in a rush to close and go home My wife left most of her food in disgust

This pub really emboldens the meaning of good pub food. It's delicious and good value for money. The atmosphere is brilliant, there's usually sports playing on the TVs. One side is for over 18's (for those wanting a bit more quiet) and the other side is more family friendly. The only downside is that some of the staff collect your "empties" when they aren't even empty. I can leave a half pint on the table with my friends while I go outside for a quick smoke, come back and it's been taken. The staff need to be a bit more attentive about this and actually ask the people around them if the drink is done or not. Other than that it's a spot on place. 4 out of 5 stars for me. I'll return again for my birthday next year!

Great place to meet, eat and chat. Plenty of parking, children's outdoor play area, daily offers etc. 3 adults for lunch - 2 x fish and chips and mushy peas, 1x curry and rice and poppadom, and pint of coke (Weds is curry day) - for under £30. Bargain!
