I don't usually write reviews, but just had to comment on our wonderful experience at "Norada" yesterday. It was our first visit so we weren't quite sure what to expect, but what a pleasant surprise! We were greeted by extremely friendly, young staff, both at the bar and restaurant area.....honestly....so professional and polite! We did have to wait a little while for our food, but it honestly didn't matter, as the environment was lovely.....great decor and a really chilled out atmosphere. The food was definitely worth the wait!! Excellent burgers at a very reasonable price. We will definitely be back and recommending "Norada" to all our Norfolk friends!! Thank you for a lovely evening! Rob and Sam

This is not the first time we’ve had a meal at the Norada. We stay local in Potter Heigham, it’s our first choice for a bite to eat, and it’s dog friendly. The food is good and reasonably priced, the atmosphere is rustic, relaxing and fun. Staff are friendly, and meals are served with not too much of a wait. Portions are value for money. The pub does get busy, during holiday times, but you are always informed if there’s a delay in the kitchen. The bar is well stocked, with a variety of draft and bottled beers and lagers.

Been here every time we visit my parents in Potter Heigham . How I have seen this place change from a run down pub with no modernisation ever spent on it to the most inviting pub you can ever visit. From the moment you walk we feel welcome like a family member the owner always got a welcoming smile and always has time to talk and make you feel welcome. No other pub has this welcoming feel. We had an amazing Sunday Roast and what can I say apart from amazing. Visited again on Monday to an amazing perfectly cooked rare steak. Overall a must visit pub in the broads. Thank you Costa and staff for an amazing experience

Called in whilst boating on the Broads. What can I say? Menu was extensive, staff pleasant, food arrived quickly. We were enjoying a family Sunday lunch when what must be the resident entertainer decided to start crooning. To the point we couldn’t hear ourselves talk. He finally shut up but got annoyed when no one clapped. Sunday lunchtime is not the time to have some rude, jaded entertainment.

MORE AT TripAdvisor

This place had been recommended by two separate people, so we thought we’d give it a go, had a quick look on the website and saw the following statements… “Delicious freshly prepared food, served in a relaxing family atmosphere with Locally sourced ingredients” and “We’re a family run pub, serving homemade food using locally sourced produce to the people of Potter Heigham. We’re situated just on the broads, so we are perfect for passers-by to stop off and sample our food and drinks menu, whether you’re a local or boating the River Thume”. What is not to like, it is not a chain, it is family owned, that provide fresh home made food using local ingredients! It took us a bit to find as the way it had been described we were expecting a traditional pub by the river, upon arrival it looked more like a converted wooden storage shed and the inside certainly did not look like the pictures on the website. We walked in and found it to be quiet for a Thursday evening, but the team were very welcoming, we ordered drinks and asked about food. The lady behind the bar told us to help ourselves to menus from the end of the bar and sit where we wanted, we opted for a table in the restaurant. Having looked at the extensive menu, we soon ordered a selection from a very pleasant waiter that included the fish platter and mozzarella sticks. The dishes soon arrived and it was very apparent that this was not locally sourced or home made, rather bought in bulk, processed frozen food that needed little skill to cook, just a deep fat fryer. With the exception of the salad, everything was inedible and for what’s was served grossly over priced. We drank our drinks, thanked the staff when we paid and politely left. We are always keen to support local, small businesses, but do expect quality food in return. Having now read some of the reviews on here and the responses from the owner, we are unsure if we just had a poor menu choice, they were having an off night or that is how things are. Looking at the website again, it appears to be incomplete in areas such as the menu section. Clearly there are many great reviews, however we can only speak about our own experience and the expectations that were set from their website description. Hopefully just a one off and wish them the very best of luck for the future.

I was a big fan of the Norada when it opened but not so much now. I found the food on our last two visits was ok, but definitely overpriced, there is much better food available for less at numerous other pubs on the Broads. The outside tables were dirty with glasses left uncollected. And I’m definitely not a fan of the “entertainment” , the “UK’s only Dwarf Drag Queen”, seriously do we need that at a prime riverside location on the Broads? Very odd direction the Norada is taking.

Food was ok (Sunday roast), dated in terms of presentation (slapped on a plate like your mum would do) but was cheap enough. Focus is really on quantity and speed rather than quality. Staff are friendly enough but not really offering a quality service and seem to be inexperienced. I think that the area really deserves a decent place to eat in, especially for the tourist season and the location being right by the river. Building itself is very shabby, probably needs to be knocked down and started again and parking is really limited unless you park at Lathams. Probably won’t go back but I imagine tourists would go hear as there’s not really anywhere else to go.

Could be the best place to eat on the Broads. Costas, the owner is such a friendly guy. Always willing to have a chat and go out of his way to make your experience better. The food is outstanding and service is great. It can be a bit slow for food to come, but this is because its a family run place, so they don't have loads of staff, and because perfection takes time, so don't judge them on this! This place was taken on in such a state and already, a year on, the improvements are so noticeable. There's a lot of work to go, but don't let that ruin your experience. Appreciate it for the hidden gem it is. I would recommend 10 times out of 10 and will always come back here when I'm in the area.

It took over an hour for our food to arrive and even then my chicken kebab was red in the middle! Sent it back whilst my hubby enjoyed hid chicken strips, we ended up leaving (me very hungry) and getting our money back much to our disappointment. Moored a short walk from the establishment, a local resident recommended this pub/restaurant which, in fairness, doesn’t have too much competition in the area around Potter Heigham. To be honest, this is a pub which serves food rather than a pub with a restaurant. But the welcome was warm & the menu quite extensive. Our party of 6 chose a mixture of chicken curry, fish & chips, lamb shank & liver & onions. When the food eventually arrived, & this slow service was the only downside, it was absolutely delicious. Accompanied by some decent Merlot & Sauvignon Blanc, a most convivial evening was had by one & all.

Called last minute as other local places were full, they were able the accommodate our party of four. We arrive and needed to work with it where to go as the outside was disorganised, but it's in a great location so we went inside. It was like a tacky nightclub. The music was loud and the tv was prominent. We chose to sit outside. The menu was fine, the food was good, but it is confused and needs to decide if it's a night club or a pub alongside the river. The staff are pleasant but need support and training.

Not sure if it is entirely fair to judge on the basis of our visit, as they are obviously in the middle of some refurbishment. On the plus side, they were the only show in town when we visited - everything else appeared to have closed for the evening. Also my Chicken kebab was very good and good value. Service was poor which prevented us from lingering. Will try again once the works have been completed.

Had a lovely Sunday roast with a selection of veg including celeriac, which I’ve never been served in a restaurant! Very impressed with the on going improvements at Norada. Will be back again this Sunday for a family Birthday party.

We've been coming to potter heigham for nearly thirty years, and have seen this building buzzing, taken over, empty again, then now this beautiful place.

A good pub-food menu, served cheerfully and in air-conditioned surroundings. The time between ordering and serving was fifteen minutes and the food was good quality and good value for money.

Travelling down this year we were hoping that the new pub in Potterheigham would not only be handy but somewhere we could meet on a night and have a bite to eat without driving or taxis. We were not disappointed, Costa and his family are working hard to build the business and while doing so opening the pub and facilities in phases. Its not the finished article yet but the service and food was what you would expect from a business thats been open much longer. We found the family friendly and could not do enough and some of the speciality pizzas were fantastic. We are back in September and know that what has already started as a worthwhile venture will only improve further. Well done cant wait to see further additions.

They muck up orders, the pizza is so thin it falls apart when picked up, deep pan would be nice, food is okay, but overall quite poor, wouldn’t recommend to be honest.

We booked this restaurant for lunch and can honestly say it was the best meal we’ve eaten the whole we’ve been in holiday and we’ve eaten in some highly recommended restaurants. Great food, excellent
