Noorjahan in Kensington and Chelsea

Made a lunch reservation on a Saturday as the restaurant is open 12-2pm for a lunch service. Restaurant was closed when we arrived; extremely rude staff telling us they never took our booking when they were in fact closed for lunch due to lack of bookings. I assume we were the only table booked.

Wonderful team, always welcoming and supper efficient - been going for years and consistently good experience. Top drawer curries and sides, too. Cannot fault it, other than it’s a bit pricey

Noorjahan 2 always the best Indian cuisine as I am at least twice in a year last 15 years. Every London trip this is my favourite restaurant. Chicken jalfrizi is something different you can’t get anywhere. Garlic nan and samosa also very Good here. Highly recommended anybody looking for good Indian meal

The worst service I have experienced in quite a number of years - extremely rude staff with an incredible amount of attitude; I asked for tap water 6 times before they brought it out and made it seem like it was such an arduous task. Food good but such small portions for such high prices! Much better options around

I need to say, that I love Indian food. This was my favourite restaurant when I lived in South Kensington and I compare every Indian restaurant to this restaurant. The food quality and taste is outstanding and the service is flawless. You can't make it better ;-) ... I went to so many Indian restaurants across Europe, but nothing compares to Noorjahan. I can highly recommend the sheek kebab and of course the chicken tikka masala. And yes, you won't find better papadams ;-)

I have ordered just a naan the amount was very small and they asked me for cash and told me to take the cash and I went to find the cash machine which was bit far from the restaurant very disappointed ☹️

I couldn’t recommend this restaurant more! The service was amazing and everyone was so lovely. The food was insane and portions were perfect amount for really good prices. If you’re looking for an Indian restaurant in Nottingham definitely choose here!

I was really disappointed with my experience here. The food was so bland, the portions were tiny for the prices, and the staff were very unfriendly. There are so many other places around where you can find better Indian food. I would not go back, or recommend to anyone.

TERRIBLE service, rip off! We were asked to leave after main course, they refused to serve tea and coffee saying they “were busy and needed the table” though no one waiting. We’d only been in the restaurant one hour! Bad service throughout and food not good.

We often order from here to for takeaway and the food is always warm and ready very soon. the prices are quite reasonable for london also considering the large portions. Parking is usually available on the same street. Suitable for children and vegans.

We have been going to this restaurant for thirty years. Excellent choice of dishes, all tasty and well prepared. Good ambience and friendly staff. A consistent and reliable service - what’s not to like ? Good for takeaway too.

Food is really good. But staff constantly unhelpful. Always messing up orders. Giving less chutneys than requested … staff rude whe collecting.. have lived in area many years and Noor Jahan seems to rely on the fact it may have once served Brad Pitt a Pappadom … look elsewhere :)

Very disappointed - poor quality food and grumpy service the staff should make an effort for the amount of money they charge. Is free to smile but they don’t know what smile is ?! I felt bitter in this place

This place is always packed, which is strange considering the extremely average food. It gets so incredibly noisy that you cannot make any conversation. The staff are quite rude, even if you go there regularly, especially one of the waiters who was so shockingly rude to me when I questioned something on the bill, I will not be returning….it’s just not worth it. I think it survives on past glories but the food is lacking, meat is dry and over cooked and the whole experience is generally disappointing.

Don’t waste your money and appetite here. I don’t recommend this restaurant, grumpy customer service and the food is poor standard I Had higher expectations when I arrived. Service and presentation of food was ridiculous with my sheesh kebab. 1 dried out cucumber slice and a wedge of tomato with a sprinkle of lettuce. Walked out as I knew it would be a horrendous experience. Went to Thali round the corner where the food is way much better and presented by happy staff.

Fantastic swift friendly service in this family run eatery. Our fiends have been dining at Noor Jahan for a very long time and the food is exceptional. We arrived without booking in a group of 9 (we did call ahead) after being told the wait at Dishoom would be over an hour! Great ambience in this intimate restaurant and we will definitely be returning on our next trip to London. You should too!

My wife and I came to this restaurant on our honeymoon 12 years ago. Ever since it's stuck in my mind as the benchmark of a great neighborhood Indian restaurant. I was glad to see it still there when we returned with our children this year. We were warmly greeted by the staff and they helped us navigate the menu and place an order which both the adults and young children would love. The food is out of this world amazing. Nothing too fancy or over the top. Just classics done right. If I could bottle the aroma of their sizzling tandoori plates, I would. We have eaten some fairly forgettable Indian food in London, at both tourist traps and over-hyped trendsetters, this is neither. It's worth a trip (we came over from Mayfair). Incredible food, warm service, classy but unpretentious ambiance.

Nice enough food, disappointing attitude. I was working around the corner and phoned up for a takeaway which I said I'd collect. I was told it would be £19.95 which was the price for eating in. I said "I thought there was a discount for collection...?" at which point he conceded "It'll be £15". I was kind of irritated that he thought he'd try and 'get away' with charging me the full eat-in price for a takeaway collection and only extended the discount to me when I queried the price being quoted. When I went to collect, he wanted to take my card from me so he could tap it. I refused and said I wanted to see the amount and tap it myself. At this point, knowing the conversation we'd just had, he told me it was going to be £19.95 because I was paying by card. (Makes me wonder if he was just going to tap it for a higher amount without my knowledge which is tantamount to fraud.) I contested this, saying that he never said this on the phone (I didn't have cash on me). Eventually, he conceded and I was charged £15. This was all very needless but spoilt what was otherwise a reasonable takeaway. I'd have been a regular customer because I'm working in the area a lot, and would have gladly visited to dine in with colleagues, but not after this unnecessarily confrontational experience that could have easily been avoided.

20 years and keeps getting better

Lovely resto nice and cosy with classical decor and good clientele. Good not so much Sheekh kebab tired and a bit run down with not much taste. Aloo tikki chaat too sugary and not much taste. Butter chicken too sweet and not enough spice. Don’t get me started in the masala chai which was made with minimal effort a lousy teabag w a splash of milk not even fresh tea! Shan’t be visiting again Shame as used to visit a lot with my family back in the day

Best Indian meal I have had in probably ten years, service was amazing and the staff was incredibly kind and informative. Portions were perfect for us, all food was delicious and well worth the price. Would absolutely recommend to anyone in the area.

Tonight for the third time the staff was exceptionally rude to me. I decided to leave versus eating at NoorJahan (I won't be back) The food is great but the service is terrible you will have a more enjoyable meal somewhere else..

Closed. This morning at 8:30 a.m. I looked at the website for Noorjahan. The menu looked good. I filled out the reservation request form for a 12:30 lunch. I received a message: “Your reservation has been confirmed. If there are any issues we will contact you by email.” I checked my email prior to leaving our flat at 12 noon. No message. So we travel 30 minutes across town. When we arrive the owner says that the restaurant is closed. He does not apologize. Do not trust what the website says.

Our favorite restaurant! The food is delicious and the staff is cordial.

We ate here last night and absolutely loved it. The whole experience felt deeply nostalgic, from the chutneys arriving in steel serving bowls with crisp poppadums, linen napkins shaped like bishop's hats, and mint chocolates brought with the bill at the end. The owner and staff were attentive and professional and made us feel right at home. I'm delighted that we found a solid Indian restaurant near us and can't wait to go back.

This was my go to curry house in the mid-90’s when living in London. Took my colleagues while visiting in 2022 and it’s still a rock solid great curry. Food is excellent. Service is friendly and professional. Best peshwari naan in London. And always an interesting clientele.

Closed phone in my face (In response to your reply I’m not sure who you are referring to, nobody mentioned a hospital, I was calling to book a table when the waiter just started having another conversation while I was talking and didn’t like it when I told him he’s rude. I guess you disrespected another customer and closed the phone in their face too?)

Really one of the best Indian restaurants in the world. Been going here for 20 years or so and they have never disappointed. Sometimes they rush you through a little but that is really just their style. Cant help but still loving this place.

A complete disappointment! When you have been brought up eating good Curries from the north. Then this place is not for you. With flavours and spice range obviously set for inexperienced this curry house is not authentic by any means. Our bhajis (my usual favourite) were bland and greasy. When I said this to the very rude waiter he tasted them in front of me and said they have sold hundred of them tonight and that there was nothing wrong. They did however take them on the menu. The pilau rice had no fragrance, it had no saffron or cardamom. Tiny fried onion slithers being a poor at passing off saffron. The rotis had never seen a tandoor. Having a cardboard texture, they inedible. Service was lightening fast. To the point our mains were brought out within seconds of our starter by the very rude staff. Making us feel rushed and uncomfortable. A prime example of get them in and out as quick as possible. Portions are small. Our one star is given from the one sauce in the main course being well flavoured. Having said that the meat was substandard quality. A sad ending to an otherwise great evening.

The sign says that they are open until midnight. (So does their advertisement here on Google.) I got there at 10:30 and they told me that it is take-out only. I said that I wanted to sit someplace so I was going to walk around the neighborhood. I came back at 10:45 and they wouldn't even sell me takeout. I was astonished. It was a Friday night. He sounded a little like the soup guy from the TV show Seinfeld: "No food for you!" I can't judge the food, but I felt mistreated, disrespected and lied to.

such a good indian and firm favourite of my family! I wish there were more vegetarian/vegan options so I wouldn’t go if you’re a strict no meat eater. If you do eat meat then this is a lovely little indian with lots of options and well cooked food. my family is pakistani and this is our go to for curries so kinda a big deal 🤪 star dropped because sometimes it’s hard to get a table and service can be a bit slow

I don’t EVER eat Indian food because I’m not educated enough. However last night my friends took me there and I had such a delicious, amazing meal with such a friendly staff. Next time I’m in London, we will return!
