Noodle ‘n’ Rice in Edinburgh, City of

Two days back we came for Dinner the food was nice and the staff was really sweet spoken and friendly. So we came back next day but the other waitress was rude and annoyed. Yesterday was our last day at Edinburgh, we went back for dinner and the girl served us day before was there, she was extremely kind and her voice is so sweet dealing with customers.

Food was amazing delicious and service was amazing proper vibe and respect given by waiter It’s really nice experience

Large portions, very friendly and helpful staff; no cover charge and no water if you ask for it from the tap. I had vegetarian noodles: very attentive to these needs! Recommended for a hearty dinner and not at all expensive

on entering, we were denied a vacant 'big' table and had to make do with a corner table. Reason being there were 2 of us and tables were for 3 or 4. Unprofessional waiter. Later discovered that upstairs has many big tables for at least 5 or 6. Later than that, a couple were sat at said big table, which I queried. Food took far too long to be cooked. We ordered relatively easy to make food - chow mein. Only when we complained after 20 minutes (where is it?) and said we would rather leave it did they get a move on. To be fair, it seemed the male waiter was crux of the problem he denied us the table and served the food in quite an unprofessional manner. Normally this would get a 1 star avoid review but I dealt with a female member of staff who granted a concession....not for poor service but for not being able to give me my change using cash payment. To save face, the young lady discounted one of our food items, which constituted a refund in my book. Service was poor and if food really does take 45 minutes to cook, tell people when they order it. Likewise if cash payments are a problem due to not having a till float make it clear on ordering or make customers aware it is card only.

We waited about 45 minutes for our food. I ordered Tofu Singapore noodles. It was like no Singapore noodles I have had else-where. The flavour was like that of packet dried spices. It had no vegetables in except a few large peieces of tasteless peppers. The tofu was also flavoured like packet dried spices flavour. We shared salt and pepper fries which was fries smoothed in salt and pepper (to the point of knowing I would need a lot of water to flush out the excess salt in my body later that night). I don't believe a qualified chef would provide the standard the food we ate. My partner felt the same about his food.

Great papaya salad and Penang salmon! The miso soup was great. The restaurant was clean and did not have the smell of fried food.

The taste was very poor and not even worth eating. Like garbage leftover. Vegetables was not looking like this anymore 😔

I would rather eat a can of pedigree chum than the crap this place tries to get away with serving. We ordered Singapore chicken and prawn noodles £13.50 each. After the plates had sat in the dumb waiter for more than 5 mins (we were sat by it) I went to the bar to get a dumb member of staff who were more concerned with yapping amongst themselves than actually doing their job. The warning signs were there. The place was pretty much empty in contrast to everywhere else. They brought us "the food" it had clearly been microwaved or reheated, having been batch cooked. About 2 prawns on each plate and the tiniest bits of chicken, one member of our group doesn't like and can not eat peppers so we asked for one without peppers but it was evident all they had done was take the peppers out of the food as it was all clearly out of the same tub. Didn't eat it. Didn't pay for it, and the "staff didn't give a s@#t !! If you value your health and work hard for your money, then avoid the place like the plague.

Don’t recommend if you are looking for a nice place to have some quality Thai food. The only thing positive about this restaurant was the service because the staff were quite pleasant. I ordered the barbecue beef bao bun, shrimp pad Thai and king prawn fried rice. The beef was way too chewy and the fried rice was bland and too salty. I found the pad Thai to be quite average. Not that great an experience.

Extremely boring ramen, with the wrong noodles and with two miserable vegetable leafs, not much else. For 14£ we expected something decent. Well, nope.

Friendly staff and excellent food. I will certainly be back there and recommend it to my friends. The food was freshly made and the wine was not extortionately priced.

Blooming amazing flavors of noodle boxes. We got to try nearly all. Penang, Thai green curry and teriyaki. The best coffee I’ve EVER had. Perfect.

Out of four dishes, two were not eaten at all due to awful or no taste. Staff could not tell if something was on the menu when asked - told us to read the menu ourselves.. Food took forever even though there were very few guests. Food and dishes (incl. leftovers) were sent up and down using the same elevator. Delicious bao buns and panang curry. 4 of us ate here mid afternoon on a Sunday, friendly staff, quick service, great food. I'm used to chains like wagamama and giggling squid, but our meal here was far better, the dishes were all fairly spicy but really tasty. Having looked at some of the earlier reviews on trip advisor I might have been put off, but I'm so glad we didn't as we would have missed out on a great meal. It's either changed management since the older reviews or they've worked hard to right some issues. Highly recommended

What a gem of a restaurant! We were walking around trying to find something to eat and found this lovely place. Our waitress was wonderful! Our food was beautiful and came quickly. There was more than we could eat and the food had so much glamour and spice! We highly recommend.
