Noodle King Chinese Takeaway in St Edmundsbury

Our first time ordering the reviews are always good! I can say that we were not disappointed! The food was delivered piping hot and tasted so fresh! Will absolutely order again! Gorgeous

I ordered through the sister site mama rice and didn't arrive after over an hour so I called up. The lady was so friendly, helpful and apologetic. There was a system error so my order didn't go through but she quickly rectified it and got it out for delivery adap, even offered me free food which I declined as I know It would have gone to waste. The food came and it tastes absolutely amazing, better than my usual chinese so I'm going to use these from now on. Thank you all x

Great food,fast delivery. Really light delicious food, that was filling and not greasy. Also the little cardboard boxes make me feel like I'm in a USA crime show solving crimes while eating takeout.

My husband and I ordered a mixed hor d’oeuvres, chicken curry and something off menu! Sorry we didn’t catch your name at the desk, but we’re extremely grateful for your hospitality. The something off menu was crispy chicken chunk with your special BBQ sauce which we requested as a crispy need stir fry. You must add this to your menu, it was absolutely delicious. Thanks again, we’ll be back!

We order our food it arrived we went to put our baby down and started eating to our disappointment there was a bit of hair and tinfoil in our chips which put us off the food.We called the store and spoke to the manager to ask if it is possible for a refund or to swap the food he said as it had been 25 minutes it was impossible we explained we had to sort our baby our first and he then proceeded to be rude and call my partner a liar and was laughing at him.From there he continued to be rude and snappy when my partner was trying to sort it out.Terrible customer service do not recommend here as they are not willingly to sort our problems and take it to offence.

Ordered hot and sour soup “a bit weird to be fair” according to my wife. I ordered the duck and pan cakes, always a go to. Unfortunately I couldn’t use the pan cakes as they were all suck together and couldn’t be separated so I binned the lot. Dry ribs were a back up but I was so disappointed that I gave up on them too, the brightest red ribs with a terrible texture. Not sure what’s going on at Noodle King at the moment.

A great Chinese takeaway. We drive miles every time. And every time it’s worth it. Never disappointed.

Food is Always super fresh. Their curries are amazing. You can customise your food if you don't like chilli and they're really good at gluten free options too😊

I have been a long time customer of Noodle King, they have always impressed me with their service and the food is probably the best Chinese takeaway in Bury.

Unfortunately I would not recommend this Chinese, 2nd time I have ordered from here and both times the order has been wrong. When I previously called the customer service was awful and very rude.

Rude customer service. Ordered over the phone. One item we asked for was five spice chips. After driving home we found that we had 5 portions of chips and no rice that we ordered. When calling back to query we were told ‘that’s not our problem, that’s your problem, you should have looked at the receipt, we were never given a receipt! Again told ‘that’s your problem not ours and come and get your rice’ Not fair considering we are 30 minutes away again told ‘not our problem, that’s your problem’. I am annoyed as this was one of our favourite Chinese, we will now not be returning due to the attitude of this person. We’ve since had unprofessional text messages from them and accused of being drunk? A misunderstanding between both parties would have been better reply, completely unprofessional. Mistakes happen but unfortunately this was not handled professionally or well.

As you’d expect from a quality Chinese takeaway, good hot food and friendly staff. I’m a fine dining chef and this place is still a guilty pleasure

Ordered just after 6pm .. called at 8.30pm and they were confused. I said where is my order and they said it’s with the driver. So 2.5 hours and no food. Does anybody else think this is reasonable ???? Because I don’t. Now will have to see if I get a refund as promised .. not holding my breath .. had several meals previously from and all been very good but tonight, totally unacceptable.. try Top Garden in Bury St, they always deliver on time.

Literally not even 1 star. I’ve never had a problem with ordering from these guys before, but I’ve just ordered a vegetarian dish (labelled this on the website/Just Eat) and it arrived with chicken in, which is inedible because I’m a vegetarian. I was only offered a voucher instead of a refund, which isn’t good enough, because this isn’t somewhere I can trust to eat again. I never leave reviews for anything but I can’t avoid this because it could be so much worse if this happened to someone with an allergy. The manager/cook didn’t even apologise let alone speak on the phone. Really disappointed and I won’t be ordering from here again. I ordered Mixed Vegetable Vermicelli.

Arrived late to my accommodation and was in search of something decent to eat after a long journey. Had some delicious stir fried broccoli and light egg fried rice - better than I could have expected at such a late hour. Ot was so good that I ordered some again the night before I left! 3 stars. 1/ Food a little salty but nice and there was plenty 2/ I have always asked if they fo NHS discount to which they said no. When I have picked up my takeaway they have usually given a bag of prawn crackers. This time I got told I have to spend £30 for this. Don't get it.

Best Chinese takeaway in my opinion I always go for the same thing sweet and sour chicken balls you get a decent amount and the sweet and sour sauce is perfect not to sweet or sour, delicious 😋

Don’t order from here. We placed our order at 7pm and still haven’t received our order at 9.30pm! Tried calling to speak to someone and goes through to call centre who then say they have to call the restaurant! So frustrating! Absolutely ridiculous, never come across anything like it!!

Had I known Mama’s Rice was Noodle King I’d never have ordered. Have had delivery issues with Noodle King before and no surprise Mama’s Rice delivery was over 2 hours late. Still waiting for the refund I’d asked for 10 minutes before the food miraculously arrived and while I was cooking a replacement meal. They updated order to ‘enjoy your meal’ when it hadn’t been delivered, and the contact phone goes to voicemail which is unsurprisingly full. Will never use again.

Just received my favorite Singapore vermicelli and chicken wings for my lunch . It is just big portions and good tasted, better than other one, saw someone have bad review to the shop , but it can be a truly good review too! Hopefully the shop will get improve!

Wouldn't recommend. They take forever to deliver over 2.5 hours and will call you up and tell you to collect. Staff are rude on the phone. Asked to cancel my order hopefully I get a refund.

Been to virtually every Chinese takeaway in town. This is only one of two that do lunchtime...Our usual one was shut today, so tried noodle king. It is now our number one go to from now on.

Best salt and chilli chips I’ve ever eaten would be 5 stars but the owner said minimum £10 spend which I felt was abit cheeky. But the food was faultless. Great taste, excellent size and really liked a paper box instead of aluminium

Would rate 0 stars if possible. All 3 times we’ve ordered, food has taken 2+ hours to arrive. Food was average at best, not even that. In the last order I found a weird slimey mucus-like substance in my kung pao prawns dish. Ingredients aren’t ever fresh either. Worst Chinese in bury for sure lol

Late No lemon sauce for the lemon chicken, so plain tough battered chicken Nice spicy chillies for the dry tough ribs The sate chicken was by far the worst I've had for over 20 years and went in the bin.

Ordered a few times from here now as its the only chinese that delivers to where I live and wanted to give this place a chance however the food is horrible. Way to salty, greasy and has a hand soap taste to it. It also smells weird and its really off putting. I don't understand the whole salad at the bottom to soak up the grease either? Most of the time our food ends up in the bin. Food items such as pork are always really dry even tho they are covered in sauce. I also don't understand why you put salad in the egg fried rice? The chow mein has no flavour and is dripping with oil too. Delivery always takes silly long too and by the time it arrives the grease has soaked the cardboard tubs they put the food in. We have had to ring up a few times regarding our delivery and was answered quite rudely by staff. Food is never hot when it arrives, and its massivly over priced for a chinese! Why is the food so expensive? Especially for a menu that doesn't have a huge range of food. It also leaves me with an upset stomach every single time I order from here - not sure if its the grease or the taste or both?

I had items missing from the order and when I phoned up to say about it I got told I was wrong and that everything was in the order and it wasn't the attitude I got on the phone was disgusting and the service was disgusting on the phone the food didn't even taste that nice in the slightest wouldn't recommend to anyone else.

We changed Chinese restaurants during the pandemic. Noodle King has always supplied top quality food full of flavor, much better than all the competitors in Bury St Edmunds. Highly recommended.

Just ordered a delivery of chips, fried chicken, fried squid, ribs and rice with sweet and sour, satay and curry sauce. Everything was cooked amazing from the chips to the squid it all had a lovely texture and taste, absolutely delightful! Arrived hot and crispy! A perfect order.

WOW, really impressed with our takeaway from Noodle King. Our very first time trying this takeaway. The pork is curry is the best iv ever tasted. It has a stand out flavour slightly different from any other Chinese takeaway. The food is well presented in its cute packaging. For me and my family this definitely stands out from the rest. Would highly recommend!

Decided to try a different Chinese than our usual. Took two hours to arrive and average quality. There are a lot of better places to try in Bury, based on my experience.

Not great. Chicken balls not crispy. No syrup on the banana fritters. Good that they use paper bags and cardboard food boxes, but they then put old salad below your food to soak up the fat. It's weird and off putting, especially with desert!

Beware! The food is awful, I had a very bad experience. We have ordered fried dumplings , but received instead boiled dumplings burned at the frying pan , they were not fresh. They were cooked before and then warmed to being burned on one side with bad smell and taste - went to the bin. We have also ordered Grilled calamari - they were one small calamari cut in 4 smaller pieces with the breading 3 times more than it. Calamari itself rubber hard taste like fish in the most terrible fish and chips shop - when to the bin

I have had take out from here a few times now and have tried a few different things from the menu and everyone the meal has been outstanding. There crispy fried squid is the best I've had, and delivery has always been very quick. Best Chinese restaurant for take out in Bury St Edmunds in my opinion.

This had been fantastic the first two times, the third time was awful, there was more bone than chicken I'm my dish, some of which was quite small, the first two times had no bone, very disappointing, I will give them one more try and update my review to see if it was an off day.

I don’t usually leave reviews but I really should have looked at the other bad reviews. Been over 3 hours now and it still hasn’t arrived. Cant comment on the food as nothing has shown up. Also can’t get a hold of the restaurant as no one is picking up. I can see why they have changed their name 3 times! Formally golden dragon now noodle king and Mamas Rice Chinese takeaway on Deliveroo. Avoid!

This is the first time we have used Noodle king as we were let down and spoken to very rudely from Dragon Palace. We are very impressed with the food, everything had so much flavour and the Presentation was brilliant the only slight issue was it arrived 20 minutes late, so next time we order we will make sure we order it earlier, I can honestly say it was one of the best Chineses I’ve eaten 10 out of 10 Noodle king . 👍👍😊

Aweful! Ordered £100 worth of food for collection. On collection they were 15 minutes late so other food we had collected was getting cold. Get it home only to realise half the order is missing. Call them up to be told that it’s going to take 50 minutes for them to deliver it to us!!! Tell them that is not good enough (we live less than 10 minutes from the restaurant and have children that we need to feed and get to bed). The call back 10 minutes later saying it will be 40 minutes and I can have a £10 voucher. I point out this is 10% and they don’t care. I email the head owner to discuss it with them and they don’t give a damm. Fob me off saying they will come back to me and literally never do. They literally don’t care about customer service at all. Will never ever go back there. The food was was also not up to scratch and a total rip off compared to what u used to get before the upgraded. They just put stuff in fancy boxes double the price and lower their customer service and think people will carrying of paying . Aweful!

Worst service ever experienced. If you want to eat the same evening then take your money and go elsewhere. Last order we waited 90 mins then had a phonecall asking me to come and pick it up myself! Offered a £5 voucher! Thought we would try again and tonight was told delivery is 80 minutes...we waited 95 minutes before phoning to ask for an update...only to be told it will be another 30-40 minutes! All they could say was "well it is Saturday!". If you can't handle deliveries why take the orders! Disgusting customer service.

The food is fantastic fresh and good value

Usually love this Chinese but not tonight. Ordered chicken balls and they were barely cooked, still pinkish in the middle had to make the kids spit the chicken out. Rang them and was polite to get the bloke calling me a liar and that it can't be true and even tho I said come get it and have a look for himself still got called a liar was not helpful at all! I would avoid at all cost!

Worst Asian food I’ve had in a long time. Took over 1.5 hours to arrive, ordered fried rice and Singapore noodles and got non fried rice with weird toppings and a completely different style noodle dish. They clearly have no idea what they are doing.
