Golden Dragon Chinese Takeaway in St Edmundsbury

The other day me and my family had some food from here. I had chicken balls with rice sweet and sour sauce with bamboo shoots my grandad had spare ribs and noodles and my nan had BBQ pork with fried rice. We drove here to collect the food and it was nice and warm and it was delicious. I highly recommend here to go for a Chinese takeaway.

I ordered online at 5:40pm, told 45min but its now 7:10 and still waiting. Phoned numerous times as have children waiting for tea, said its on the way but now line constantly busy. Person on the phone rude and unhelpful, won't be ordering from here again

I was a little apprehensive as I have not used this takeaway for many years, its since had a name change to "Noodle King". Ramen are my favourite type of noodles so I thought I have to give them a try. It was very enjoyable, packaged well, considering I was on a push bike and when home all was intact. A separate container for the broth not containing any MSG or commercial stock cubes, home made noodles with soy sauce, chilli and sliced of beef. I also went for the salt & spicy chicken, which was also tasty, plenty of food for one. I will eat here again and hope for more of the same.

Having ordered online took 2 hours to arrive, phoned and was told that they was busy !!!!!!! Had to ask for a refund?? Since the change of ownership has gone downhill!!!!

This takeaway has the rudest person ever on the phone taking the orders. They offer delivery according to their menu but the guy was so rude when I asked for it. I phoned up early so it wasn’t as though I was asking for the impossible. The food was ok but I will not be going back again and nor will my family. The delivery lady was lovely and very friendly.

Ordered on new years eve at 1720 and got called back and told my order will be with me for 1825 1900 I call and they inform me my order has been missed and should be ready for delivery in 15 mins so should be with me in a bit ove 30 mins I advised I would collect to. Hasten the process as my children are still waiting I got to the front of house for 1915 and the order was confirmed to be ready in two minutes As I am collecting the order I ask about the delivery charge being refunded they advised that they would not do so Frustrated I leave and get home for 1930 and start feedjng the family only to find out the 20 month old is halfway though an uncooked chicken roll Not impressed... Avoid if you don't like warm raw chicken

We had a delivery last night and all our food was tasteless and horrible. Would not recommend at all.

Absolutely delicious and great value. Moved to bury yesterday and delighted with the set menu choice we had. A pleasant start to living here. Thanks

Excellent return after the recent upheaval. Excellent food, Excellent service, I am a bit biased, this was my favourite Chinese takeaway before and after tonight, that has not changed. Would recommend this anyone and cost is pretty much same as others in area. Be back soon.

OH DEAR, a Chinese takeway I have used for 2/3 years has dramatically got worse. The food has become bland and less and yet a price increase at the start of the year is meant to be a good business decision. Maybe less free stuff and better quality would bring us back. Not impressed wont be returning anytime soon.

Golden dragon tells you its going be 2 minutes or that they are on there way and you are still waiting atleast an hour later. Not happy at all! 5th this has happened!!!

Went as easy ocean was closed very poor wasn’t very hot sweet n sour sauce was awful like water !! Won’t be going there again !

Popped in as I was passing on my way home (not my normal route). Ready in 15mins lovely young man serving. Total came to just over £28 for 3 adults, received free spring rolls and prawn crackers. Food was piping hot and cooked to perfection. One of the nicest Chineses I've had in a very long time, totally recommend.

This is delicious, albeit pretty standard, Chinese takeaway. You’ve got all your classic staples that make up most Chinese menus and we’ve never had a bad experience. The food is always piping hot when it arrives to our house probably because they’re super speedy. My husband and I are regular customers and we’re never disappointed. Golden D for the win!

We decided to try the golden dragon instead of our usual Chinese take away place as we had heard it was nice,well it certainly wasn't nice it was a waste of money,the rice dishes are dry and far to big no choice for smaller portions,the chicken with honey chilli sauce was a let down as we had googled this b4 ordering just to see what it looked like well it certainly didn't come as what it showed on Google,very plain and boring we certainly wont be using again and will definitely be sticking to our usual Chinese take away from now on

Tried twice and both times the foot has been barely edible. The duck is just fat is a greasy sauce. The batter is furry and thick - honestly go somewhere else!

We have ordered from here a for a few years. Last few times we have pink chicken in our chicken balls! We have had to bin them as inedible.

Very good Chinese and they will deliver for a nominal fee that goes to the driver. Very good menu and good quality and well cooked food. Reasonably priced too.

Visiting my daughters for the weekend and had a sat night takeway from here delivered in reasonable time , the food was hot,plentiful and tasty though I found it a tad expensive but then I’m from the north where rice is normally included . Would use again .

We stayed with my eldest daughter and husband last night and ordered a Chinese take away from this restaurant.

I have been going here ever since it opened and I have never had a bad experience. This really is the best Chinese in Bury St Edmunds. And a owner that knows what he is doing. Keep up the good work richard

Extremely stodgy sweet and sour dishes and very salty throughout. Average rice. Clearly cheap ingredients.Not recommended.

Ordenó nuestra comida se entregan a las 7 de la tarde, me dijeron que no iba a ser media hora a 40 minutos. La comida llegó caliente a justo después de las 7:30 pm. Lugar en la comida. Le recomendaría este hotel a cualquiera.

La comida es fresca y sabrosa, el chef es muy hospitalario para determinadas necesidades dietéticas y preferencias, sí, a veces cuando está lleno no puede haber un poco de espera pero preferiría esperar y conseguir comida de buena calidad que todavía tengo mi comida en 15 minutos y se deleitan. No recomiendo en ningún otro lugar en la zona.

Decided to try out a new take away and took TA advice on the Golden Dragon as we are not frequent buyers and new-ish to the area. We were a walk in and had a large family order. The food was prepared within 30 mins on a busy Saturday evening. Everyone complemented the food as being fresh and tasty. It will be out number 1 choice from now on.

GOLDEN DRAGON, offers a flash leaflet and large menu, but cannot deliver anything to time or to any reasonable standards.Its has been of frequent complaint to them over the standards of their food some of which has not been cooked properly , they do not welcome complaints about them self's or make any attempts to improveA very cheap takeaway that has no shame or genuine standardsBest avoided

Visited Saturday night for kung poo prawns, Singapore rice noodle and special fried rice! The delivery service was extremely busy; however, didn't have to wait too long for my order! Food was more than enough for two and dishes had great content and flavour! Definitely be back for a return visit! Thank you!

We ordered a takeaway and food arrived in the allocated time, plenty of food and you get a lot for your money.However sometimes less is more. The food was average in my opinion.

Hi,just ordered a take away to be delivered from the golden dragon,wow, just arrived 20 minutes earlier than expected,sweet and sour chicken balls,biggest portion I have ever seen! Mushroom omelette and chips also biggest,curry & sweet sour sauce ,both to die for .lastly chicken in black bean , best flavour Chinese I have had for a very long time,superb service,all orders took correctly and delivered prompt & friendly,,,be back SOON,

Used to regularly get takeaways from Golden Dragon when they were based next to Dominos. The manager is so hardworking and we were always very keen to support him. As regulars he would always make the effort to say hello and make you feel appreciated as a customer. We were very sad when they shut and tried various other Chinese takeaways but nowhere else seemed to match up. When we heard they were reopening in Westgate St we were quick to try them again. The food did not disappoint and the price is still very competitive for the area. Although the current position is not as good as their old location to pick up food their delivery service is always quick and reliable. For a traditional Chinese takeaway in Bury St Edmunds I would not hesitate to recommend them.

Not knowing any Chinese takeaways in Bury, I liked the look of the one review on here and having checked the food hygiene rating as being 'Good' i.e. 4 out of 5, I was happy to order from here. Despite ringing at peak time on a Saturday (8.15pm), they told me I would have to wait for 45 minutes for our food to be delivered, I felt this a respectable amount of time to wait. Come 8.30 pm, there was a knock at the door and it was our hot and delicious food being delivered! The chap was polite and apologised for the 'wait'; what wait?!!! Under promised and over-achieved; that's my kind of supplier!! The food was great and good value for money. Thank you Golden Dragon!!

Under new management, . Looks very clean and smart. Had a meal early April and it was absolutely gorgeous. Will definately return.. and as it is across the road this is a bonus.
