Heerlijk ontbeten. Jammer alleen dat de openingstijden niet duidelijk zijn. De ene dag om 8 uur open. De volgende dag niet. Maar heerlijk ontbeten toen we er terecht konden.

Place looks great but the coffee and food was not as good as it looked. The prices are reasonable for the area but the toastie was not brilliant. The breakfast was poor and the beans were spicy! Weird for a Scottish breakfast.

I had breakfast here while staying at Hotel Altido round the corner that had no restaurant. It’s small and a bit cramped but the coffee & croissant were good and it’s on the right side of the street to get the morning sun. Friendly staff but felt there were inexperienced and the operation a bit disorganised. Person on the next table had to wait ages for a cooked dish

Wonderful service from two fantastic staff and delicious food including Thai chilli wrap. Delicious lentil soup which was nice and spicy carrot cake. Chocolate brownie. Had a lovely coffees. Just what we needed before a long train ride a superb café.

Poor service and pastries tasted like they were days old really tough, and cold coffee. Really disappointing to say the least

This is a decent little spot, but the quality seems unfortunately to have gone down, and with it value. In particular, coffee is priced as if it was a high quality speciality coffee, whereas clearly it is not. Staff are friendly, but the service and organisation tends to be a little messy.

Looks nice from the inside however it’s service lets it down, food not the best, in fact one of the toasties was stale and one toastie came 20 minutes after the other two so one person was looking at a cold cup of tea by the time food arrived, the chai latte was quite tasteless. Located near to Haymarket Station should have made this place busier but this was not the case, staff although pleasant weren’t overly proactive at dealing with the customers. Such a shame as had been looking forward to sampling the atmosphere and food.

Excellent breakfast. Really good coffee. Conveniently opposite Haymarket train station. Chorizo Omelette, poached eggs with bacon and avocado. Pleasant service.

We stayed in the Haymarket area and ate here twice during our stay. Personally we found it to be absolutely spot on. First day I had the porridge with red berries and granola and husband had a full English both dishes were absolutely superb. On the second day we tried the omelettes and poached egg with pulled pork and haggis again absolutely spot on. My chai latte was served in a cup and was one of the best chai lattes that I’ve had, so disagree with previous reviews. Staff were 2 welcoming young men who were chatty helpful and polite, we had no issues with the music the choice of music we found very appealing and wasn’t too loud, but it was the weekend so no external noise from the ongoing works outside. Would love to visit again when next in Edinburgh.

I've walked past Nomad so often, thought I should give it a go. Unfortunately, I won't be back and I regret not asking for a refund. I took the last available table. The table was clean but there was a slice of tomato by my feet. The music was very loud and uncomfortably pounding - more suited to a nightclub or bar than a coffee shop. It would be hard to have a conversation without raising your voice. I wonder if it was to cover up the building works outside. Perhaps closing the door and finding an alternative way to ventilate the shop might be a better short term solution than the disco vibe? I ordered porridge. There were only knives and forks on the table, so I had to get up to ask for a spoon. I also had chai tea - which I would advise avoiding here at all costs. It came in a cafetiere. I've had chai in several cafes but it's never come in a cafetiere and there's a good reason why. As I downed the plunger, it splatted everywhere on myself and the stranger at the table next to mine. (Poor guy - though he made the mistake of ordering chai too. His chaiplosion was less dramatic than mine, but still required mop up). My t-shirt was stained and my book got showered by the hot drink too. My table neighbour asked for some paper towels and the barista kindly cleaned up. She said it's happened before, which begs the question of why they're still using cafetieres for tea? The flavour of the remaining chai was okay - not the best, not the worst. However, the cafetiere meant I couldn't get all the chai into my cup without getting the leaves too. I had to leave half-a-cupsworth of tea stuck in the cafetiere, which made it feel getting even less value for money.

I ordered the avocado on toast for breakfast. It had lots of onion, too much! The bread was soggy. No table service, I wasn’t given cutlery or napkins when my plate was served. The girl at the till wasn’t the friendliest of staff either! Lots of banging and noise from dishes being cleared, which you would expect from a cafe in the city centre, but I was far too noisy. The coffee was decent

Just grabbed a quick soup to take away before my train arrived. Very friendly quick service. The soup with Parsnip and Sweet Potato and absolutely delicious! Roll was a little dry but the server did offer to toast it, i declined as i didnt have enough time to wait. But would definitely reccomend the soup!!

Looks interesting fro outside but can honestly say the two dingy bits of bacon, like leather that were passed off as a bacon roll was a joke. Yea also had a hair floating around. Avoid

I ate and was working out of this place for a few days in Late Oct/Nov, the front door was wedged open (Edin in the depths of winter is NOT warm!), I had to ask the guy if I could close the door (cue eye rolling) ..also they play really generic "hip" (it's not) music way too loud. The Guy (young lad mid 20's) working there clearly does not value that it's the CUSTOMER that comes 1st and maybe he thinks he's running a disco, not a coffee shop. People want a warm, cozy, draught-free environment and not to have your generic, rubbish music blaring.

Lovely Sunday breakfast. Nice range of good value breakfast options and friendly service in cute cafe, with nice coffee.

Was in Edinburgh for a meeting with friends, and after parking my car near by was walking to the venue and decided to grab a coffee on the go as I was early. Great cafe just a stones throw from Haymarket Train Station. Nice vibes to the place as soon as you walk through the door. Coffee was freshly prepared in no time and was on my way again. If passing by will visit again for sure.

We had a 2x croissant, bowl of soup, coffee and juice and it was £17. The soup was luke warm, sent it back and asked for it to be heated, croissants were fine but small and over price, juice was also warm and half a glass, coffee was good. Toilet was absolutely disgusting- looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Staff were nice nice.

Good quality coffee, although there isn't a proper barista. The flat white was prepared far too hot, which is not the way to taste either coffee or milk. On the other hand, I understand that that is how many people like it, and I guess they get a lot of casual traffic from the station and not coffee geeks.

Ordered the tomato & mozzarella sandwich with a small side salad. Sandwich was toasted crispy and fine. No strong flavors, pretty basic and average. Small cafe and service was fine.

This was exactly the kind of place I wanted for a quick breakfast. I had an oat milk latte that was one of the best coffees I've had. I also had the porridge with banana and cranberries-it was delightful and what a huge portion! Welcoming interior and attentive service. A perfect stop when you're near Haymarket station.

Back here after a while. Great breakfast rolls and the caramel doughnuts were brilliant. Really busy but great to be with Rugby fans on what was a great day for Scottish rugby.

Overcrowding might sometimes suggest quality, I’m afraid here it doesn’t. Espresso was unremarkable and the roast seemed unsuitable for non-milk based brew. Loud music not helped by heavy traffic outside the station makes this place not the best for a comfortable sit-in experience.

I was dithering between avo on toast at the café two doors down, but Nomad looked much cosier. There was no pear left for my pear & muesli porridge, so he offered other fruits, which was fine by me.

Had some spare time before an appointment and popped in here for a coffee. Was attracted by the decor and the sight of the scones behind the counter. I ordered a soya latte and a brown scone with butter, I also, when asked, said I'd like the scone untoasted. My order arrived and sadly the scone was SO dry I could barely split it let alone butter it, it literally crumbled like sand. I reluctantly advised the girl behind the counter that it was stale and she said she would bring me a new one, which she did but exasperating it was toasted and even drier than the first. I'm not sure if the scones were stale or they just really, really need a new recipe but I didn't want to complain a second time so I left without eating it. The coffee was pretty decent, and the ambience was okay although the music a tad on the loud side. I might give it another shot the next time I have a scone craving and hopefully they'll prove me wrong.

We stopped in for some pastries and coffee. Food was spotty - the sweet roll was stale, but the croissant was better, Sausage roll was crusty and not much flavor, and coffees decent. Service was lacking - they seemed put out by customers wanting things like tap water. It was very busy, so maybe the staff were stretched too thin, however a nice lady sitting alone in a bar of four seats offered to move to let us eat together.

I came here for a cuppa and a bite to eat, but the service was surly and slow. I had to ask 3 times for the sticky jam covered table to be wiped. The staff made no eye contact and appeared to not want to be there. One spent 15 minutes in the only toilet! Shame as the food is good.

I stopped here with my partner for a quick flat white one morning while travelling. The service was quick and friendly. I was excited to see they were serving hasbean coffee, the barista made two delicious flat whites.

I pop in occasionally for lunch as I work near by. Usually with a friend, today alone. The food is fresh and food choice of sandwiches, vegetarian options and cakes/scones/pastries.

Myself and my partner called in for coffee before getting the train. We have been in a few times and have found the coffee/croissants/scones good but the service slow. On arrival today the cafe was not busy and the barista was serving another man. He had taken his order and started preparing his coffee/pastry, which is fine, but he failed to acknowledge me standing there as he did so. A friendly ‘hello’ or ‘I will be with you in a moment’ would be good. When he asked me for my order (2 coffees; hot milk on the side; scone and croissant to eat in), again there was no friendliness or chat (which others have praised the cafe for). I still put a tip in the jar - no acknowledgement. We then waited while others getting take away got their orders. Coffees arrived, no hot milk (indeed no milk until we reminded him). When we finished, we said ‘bye’ to both baristas - no acknowledgement. A little interaction would not go amiss here. It takes nothing so be friendly. I am not going to rush back - but will stress that the coffee is ok.

This is a gem. A cafe opposite Haymarket station that is high quality, great atmosphere, and quick. Lovely range of sandwiches and teas, and they don't rush you out the door.

We found this cafe on our first day in Edinburgh while we were looking for shelter from the snow/rain and a bite to eat. The staff was helpful and the athmosphere was good. We ordered scones and a ham sandwich. The sandwich was surprisingly big and very tasty, the scones were nice too. To drink we had a latte and an Americano and this is where my only "complaint" lies: the Americano was sour.

NoMad is a great addition to my neighborhood which is trending towards corporate samesame. Nomad has a human touch and the food offerings are originl and vried and delicious.. It is just across the street from Haymarket station. You can sit or sit/stand and the sandwiches and soup and breakfast standards are all made in-house and delicious. The coffee is usually very good, but when very crowded sometimes less than perfect. Still, in my experience the staff have always been cheerful to do the reheat. Also there is a person-to-person feel to the place which is becoming very rare. I hope they thrive in busy times and less so. I come here as often as I can afford it as eating out is a treat.

Had a super lovely lunch with my friend here today- really enjoyed the toasted sandwiches, and the cinnamon roll was the best I've ever had! Very aesthetic cafe. Perfect place to go if you're looking to get those Instagramable brunch pictures- but it feels as though you're paying for the decor as well as the food (it is a little overpriced). Really friendly staff, I'd definitely go back if I wasn't a little broke.

Never really down this part of town, it was a first, its just a bit to busy, but when at the station you can go here and get a great sandwich and a rather nice coffee.

Really cute place, with really cute staff who really know how to make a good coffee! All of the food is really nice and the smoothies are lush. We ordered loads, it was served really quick and really well priced for Edinburgh cafe. I always liked their next door neighbor (gramms) that do really lovely vegan cakes, but Nomads is somewhere I feel I can take my omni friends without either of us drawing a short straw or getting ripped off for overly fussy food. It feels like a Europian coffee bar.

I stopped in at Nomad a couple of weeks ago whilst in the Haymarket area of the city, i do regularly walk past and always thought it looked an inviting place.

Lovely pot of tea, really delicious and generous frittata with a beautiful little salad on the side. Unfortunately no gluten free bread. Otherwise, wonderful café.

Stopped here a few times on transit between Glasgow and Edinburgh. Good meet up spot and the coffees well sourced and well made. Loved the gluten Free banana cake and the Spiced chicken sandwich.

We had a lovely breakfast here before catching the Tram into the city. Very nice little cafe , two very friendly guys behind the bar and good food in a quirky rustic decor. my 14 year old grandaughter loved it as did I. Gets busy but thats no surprise given location and quality of food and service

Living locally, delighted when we acquired a new meeting place, two recent visits have clouded our views, Lunch last week for 3, arrived at 1.30, cafe was busy but manageable with good staff it should have been easy, there were 2 staff, chaotic behind the scenes, food poorly displayed, tables not cleared, we ordered hot food, sat down, waited 10 minutes and food arrived, tasted and it was way over salted and arrived luke warm, handed back for re heat, came back out on same plates, no new garnish and not clear which plate was which, tried again, our party of 3 just couldn’t eat owing to salt levels, chose other dishes and waited ...teams not trained on how to handle a difficult situation like this, second visit, breakfast, staff engrossed behind counter, waited to order tea for two, tea arrived without milk, had to ask, ordered two scones, which when they arrived were warm and not fresh, we didn’t bother complaining, as we just couldn’t

I met a friend to eat in here and while the food was good, there wasn't much in the way of fillings in the sandwich. I also thought it would be a bit more hygienic if the sandwiches were under a cover, to stop hands touching them.

Totally addicted to this place. It is a pretty small space but the staff is super friendly and they make great coffee/espresso. The breakfast food is spot on for a coffee spot. The quiche is good but the porridge with pear compote is the best. both windows have power points.

Been here a few times. The staff have always been nice, the mocha and the gluten free chocolate orange oreo cake is amazing and i dont have gluten free tolerance. Can get really busy as its quite a small place but its a really place for a coffee and cake or breakfast/lunch.

Very disappointing attitude from the desk at the till. My bill was 5.50 so I gave a £10 and she asked for a pound for ease of returning my change and then turned around and forgot to give me it. When I asked for my change she replied she returned it and laughed in my face and didn’t apologise. Very unpleasant situation. Not going back.

Normally a lovely place to get some work done before taking a train.. Food is nice and environment is pleasant. Today it was weird, the staff were standoffish at times rude and several customers had problems with their food/coffee whilst i was sat working.

Have popped in here a few times at lunch - the food is good, great range of teas, croissants (hot and cold) and buns, and the service is always prompt. I like sitting at the bar stools at the window to watch the world go by. Nomad achieves fast enough service to be confident that you will finish lunch in under an hour but still a relaxed environment which does not make you feel rushed - not easy to do that, but never been disappointed.

Nice and cozy environment. The place is small so probably you have to ask for taking away your breakfast. The sweets were really good, also de service but drinks (coffee and tea) were average. Service was also nice and price is much better if you take it away.

Just opposite haymarket station, pleasant and comfortable ambiance . I had a toastie and the coffee was good. Nice place to spend an hour and do a bit of f people watching.

We came here as a group of 4 for brunch. We all ordered coffees and lattes, several pastries (cinnamon bun, croissant, and scones), a salad with roasted vegetables (super healthy and tasted fabulous), and sandwiches. They had lots of really healthy options which is so refreshing to see (gluten free, vegetarian). Everything tasted fresh and delicious!

Right opposite Haymarket rail station. This isn't a large cafe but we easily got a table for 3 at noon. The feel is very European with a selection of coffees and smoothies. There's a great choice of baguettes and croissant. I had a prosciutto and cheese croissant (hot) which was delicious. Service is excellent!

Arrived in Edinburgh only a few hours ago and on the way to my hotel I noticed this coffee. I stopped in after settling in and am so happy I did. I ordered a cappuccino and Chocolate tart and both were phenomenal! Not only was the coffee and good phenomenal but so was the service! The owner Jacob was kind to give me suggestions on where to go tonight and didn’t kick us out when we noticed at 4:30 that the place was entirely empty and they had closed at 4:00. oops. I would highly recommend this place to any nomad needing a place to plug in and get work done as well as any local who’s interested in a fun hip coffee spot. Oh and the Music was also really enjoyable! Going back for a smoothie tomorrow

We have visited lots of coffee houses in Scotland but this does take some beating. My wife is from Austria and even she said that the coffee was excellent! I had a soup and my wife had a chocolate brioche bun, our friends had cinnamon swirls and everything was superb. Thanks guys for helping us enjoy Edinburgh on a very wet day! We will highly recommend you to all of our friends and future guests of ours.

Staff were friendly and swift but I wont be back. Filled rolls covered the counter. My toasted egg and sausage roll and coffee were not pleasant. Perhaps tea and cake would work?

We were staying in an air b&b; nearby and came to this cafe for breakfast each morning. The coffee and porridge was delicious and the staff were very friendly and polite. Definitely recommend!

We stayed nearby and happened upon the place. I love coffee and the flat white doesn’t disappoint. The sausage filled roll was very tasty. The bar by the window is great to sit at and watch the world go by. Cool tunes complete the atmosphere.
