Nomad cafe has New Owners, recently taken over and the food is devine. Full English Breakfast is good sized portion and the cappuccino is unreal. Really nice staff, huge selection on the menu for everyone. new management has improved it in big way.🫶👍🙆

Nice spot for some breakfast. Really nice playlist playing in the background. Catered for my carnivore husband and vegetarian daughter really well. Coffee was very good.

Came here this morning for brunch and everything just tasted a bit off. My toast was weirdly soggy like it had been left in some liquid. My partner's toast (on the vegan breakfast) had no spread at all. Alternative milks (oat, etc.) cost 50p extra which always gets my goat. They didn't have really basic things like breakfast tea (why not just go to one of the many local shops to pick some up?) and had no mustard. And yet I weirdly had hummus on my plate that didn't really go with anything else. Not vegan friendly at all - they should have margarine and not charge people more for milk that does not cost more.

Have been a fair few times over the past 3 years and have faced numerous issues: - They didn't have correct change when I paid with a £10 note. I was told "remind us next time you are in and we will pay you back". Businesses should apologise and give the customer a free drink in this situation. - During lockdown the owners gathered with friends outside, blocking the main entrance. -Ordered a hot chocolate once that was incredible (Rich and clearly made with real chocolate). The next day, I took a friends, asked for two hot chocolates and it was just made from powder. - Was served a black coffee in a take away cup without a sleeve, so it was burning me through the cup. - Coffee quality varies massively depending on what day you go and who serves you. This morning, the espresso machine was leaking. No major issues that have stopped me going, just lots of small annoying things that occur regularly. It is nearby and convenient, otherwise I wouldn't go. Update: Went again and the iced coffee I ordered was so bitter that I couldn't drink it. No lids for takeaway cups and espresso machine leaking. Just don't go.

Really excellent service in the face of coming in late and the kitchen not having everything. Highly recommend.

Iced coffee is mediocre, the coffee is quite weak and so is the service.

Order 'Avo on sourdough', received bland mush on an anaemic Hovis skinny white loaf (see pic below). Coffee is below average in my opinion. Would not recommend to anyone.

Lovely food, atmosphere and friendly vibes. Staff are lovely and friendly - especially Becca and of course the fantastic Jordan. The recent introduction of table service is great. Highly recommended.

Food just fantastic really good cook.the staff where so nice talking to everyone. All the time smiling and happy. Would really recommend go for a change of atmosphere and a refreshing change to have staff not always on their phones. Go it worth a coffee or something nice to eat.

Went here for coffee this morning, absolutely awful. The reasons I would dissuade you from going here include 1. Late service/rude staff- my friend ordered a BLT and was still waiting half an hour later. When asking a member of staff she was very rude and said "we're busy". Had to take it as a takeaway in the end as pushed for time. Not good enough. 2. DJ (?!) - there was a DJ playing records in the corner, way too loud for a coffee shop on a Sunday morning! Impossible to make any conversation. There were families with small children on other tables, so can't imagine this is what the majority of other patrons wanted either! 3. Items not as specified- ordered two slices of sourdough toast for £2.50, what came out was two slices of a white loaf that you can get from Tesco for 50p. Terrible. Additionally, the cakes on offer are just bulk bought from Costco, not in any way fresh (I would suggest if you want to fool more people maybe take them out of the original Costco packaging...) 5. The place was dirty - had to ask for our bench to be wiped clean, plates stacking up on the bar area that looked like they had been there for a while. Looked very sloppy. 6. The coffee itself was not good, would've got a better coffee from the shell garage over the road.

Lovely place with some really welcoming and nice staff, with a great new menu! The food is lovely and well priced as well as nice drink selection and good coffee. The atmosphere is also very nice with some nice local artwork around the cafe.

Nomad is a fab little spot for a bite to eat and a coffee. They have vegan options available and regularly have resident artists display their work on the walls. The theme of Nomad goes beyond their windows and logo, and features on their cup and saucers which are my favourite! Breakfast is available all day, and they have a lunch menu too. The walls could do with a lick of paint to make the artworks stand out! And the bathroom is a gender neutral single bathroom, which is sound when it isn't busy.

Called in for coffee & homemade cookies, great range of drinks and breakfast there is delicious, had it in the past, and only £7.50 for a full English with toast.

Hardly any vegetarian lunch options. Lovely staff but I was quite annoyed that I ordered Welsh rarebit only to be told after I’d paid and waited that they didn’t have half the ingredients. They didn’t offer me an alternative just informed me it wouldn’t be coming with half the ingredients and then it came out seconds later. Was kind of weird and should’ve been at least discounted

A great little place for breakfast, lunch and a cup of coffee. Really lovely staff and a nice atomsphere too. Dog friendly as well.

What a shame. The service by the staff serving at the counter was excellent, very open and friendly. However, the male members of staff (particularly the chef) was downright aggressive. Slamming doors, shouting and cursing so that all customers could hear. Very unprofessional and uncomfortable atmosphere for both customers and female staff members who didn’t seem to condone this behaviour. In other lines of work this would be considered extremely poor organizational culture which culminates into sloppy labour and corners being cut with minimal public confidence. If it were my company, I’d seriously consider taking punitive action against the staff member(s) involved.

Staff are friendly and the coffee is good, a nice place to sit in or get coffee to take away. I’ve yet to try their food but the menu looks good and the plates I’ve seen in there look really good, I’ll be back to try.

Nomad is the current coffee shop to fill this space and it's worth a visit. Has a nice atmosphere and the staff are friendly. You're welcome to bring your laptop but need to purchase something every hour which seems fair to me. Serves a decent range of breakfast, brunch and lunch items. Haven't eaten here so can't give an opinion on the food but will update when I have. Coffee is a little pricey at £2.90 for a relatively small black coffee but these days that's probably about right.

Visited here with my family during half term, food was absolutely delicious and nice and hot! Staff are so lovely aswell making sure we had everything we needed, kids were entertained with colours and pictures which were given to us by the Shaunna the staff member 😊 so lovely! Definitely recommend 👌🏼

Came to Nomad with my best friends after a heavy night! 🥴 Absolutely gorgeous food, and the staff were so so lovely! Katie, Joe and Swyn were so sweet and made the experience so much more welcoming. Will be coming again! ♥️♥️

I had the ramen which is new to the lunch menu and LOVED IT ! made by the lovely chef, Alex it was exactly what the doctor ordered. Will be returning asap.

The service and food has truly gone downhill fast at Nomad - at the start the food was decent and coffee great. Several months ago something was off the menu so was offered 'french toast' which turned out to be literally warburtons served salty - it was the worst french toast of my life - the current staff sit there eating sandwiches while making coffee and give half arsed attention to customers while tapping the espresso machine on and off and literally guessing the espresso pour which is amateur when it's a manual pour la marzocco. Need a revamp on the service, food and coffee at had such a positive start. Hope it changes.

Good cosy vibes, boss coffee, friendly staff

The only reason I didn't rate 5 stars was because there was a slight drainy smell every now and again. The food was delicious and plentiful. The staff were young, bright and friendly and the decor was uncluttered, clean and refreshing. I will definitely revisit.

Great food and service. Used to go up to tesco if I didnt bring lunch to work, but go here instead now. Food is fresh and tasty, never had any issues with it. Really good little local caf. Staff are always polite and friendly too.

Went for a late Sunday Roast which was fantastic. Staff and service where brilliant. But this understates what Nomad is. Breakfast cafe, coffee shop, Sunday lunch and late night club (hell they had a DJ in for Sunday Roast playing chillout tunes). A quirky multi-faceted place that defies pigeonholing but highly recommended. To quote Arnold Schwarzenegger "I'll be back"

Good coffee. Subdued vibe, nice and relaxing

Overall my first visit to Nomad was enjoyable because of the relaxed atmosphere, the warm and welcoming staff, and the quality coffee and cakes. However, when I return I hope to see all of the cakes at the end of the bar covered or behind a protective display instead of leaving them within breathing distance of the people sat there! If this health and safety recommendation is implemented then I’d consider giving five stars. Thanks.

Freshly cooked and the best light and fluffy French toast ive ever had , breakfast is our favourite going out meal and this place is in our top 3 of the whole of Liverpool. Coffee the real deal , quirky and chilled atmosphere. Totally recommend

Brilliant find on Smithdown Road. Highly recommended. Absolutely stunning food. 2 great Chef's. Fresh quality ingredients prepared with love. Full English Breakfast and the Full Vegetarian Breakfast were truely exceptional. Coffee and tea fab. Try the Malbec red wine. Staff are excellent. Will be back to try in the evening or for the Vynil Sunday Roast sessions. Highly recommended. What a find. Well done to Christina and her first class team!

Ordered a sausage and poached egg on toast takeaway.......... yesterday. Well ........ ! Arrived home, and was shocked to find it looked like bread,not toast.... The poached egg?...... had no yolk ,the sausage was almost raw ..... After much searching could not find a direct number to complain and decided to return the food.... After my descreat explanation of reason, was offered a replacement......... Two minutes later was given the same thing back, slightly toasted and possibly warm...with a hard boiled egg yolk on top of the same under cooked sausage..... Service.......at its worst.... Cheap, cheap produce....... Portion extortion at its best...... sadly....

I was charged £4.40 for a double espresso today. I questioned but was told that was correct, in quite a rude way. Bamboozled, I paid. So angry. The steam wand also looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a few weeks. Clean your machine and don't overcharge. Won't be back. It's Smithdown Road, not Williamsburg, Bab.

First time there today. Sat for 10 mins at a table waiting for service. In the end my daughter went to bar and asked for menu, we were then told no food today as they had no chef. I get that but why didn’t no one tell me when I sat down? I asked this to the young woman behind the bar who abruptly told me they were not a cafe and only provided bar service. That’s OK but how was I to know that? It was our first (and last) time there. I suggested she should have told me that when I sat down at the table, but she was too busy on her phone and playing with her hair behind the bar. She then said sarcastically ‘OK I apologise’, it was said so insincere with a smirk on her face. All she had to do when she saw me sat at the table after a few minutes ‘hi just to let you know we only offer bar service here and unfortunately the chef is absent today so all we can offer is a hot drink’. I’d have said that’s fine, I’d have walked to the bar and ordered two coffees’ and would have went somewhere else for food. All I wanted was good manners.

Little gem great coffee & food and a relaxed atmosphere

Utterly dissapointed at how the quality of this cafe has plummeted down. Used to be proper coffee and some nice food. Now it's been closed for weeks, walked in to be served a really bad coffee and no food available. Really bad!

Recommended by lots of people ,but the hot chocolate was just gloop ,like far too much powder had been put in .Aside from that the coffee was ok.

My car broke down on smith down so I happened upon this place while I waited for the rescue team. Great tunes, food and coffee. The handsome barman (Elliot?) is a credit to his profession. I will Return.

Nice enough cafe inside but I felt unwell after visiting here for food and drink with an upset stomach. I'm wondering whether it's because the tables weren't being wiped down after each customer use, which is what you need to see done at establishments, especially in these COVID times. No reason at all to be lax on this, no matter how busy it gets.

Went for a meal in the evening. Great casual atmosphere, lovely french style food at a reasonable price.

Unapologetically unfriendly staff and atmosphere for a small business. Sold out of most items on an already limited menu at 1pm. Waitress didn't wear a face mask and didn't observe social distancing.

Great news addition to the local cafe and brunch scene. Low/no meat menu. Amazing value for food although I was disappointed that elements you'd expect to be warm from the menu actually arrive cold - "baked figs" - cold, "peas on toast" - cold peas on warm bread.

Unapologetically rude owner. I have never had such an unpleasant experience from a small business I am trying to support. They clearly do not want children or families to visit their business. Will not be returning, and advising everyone I know not to either.

Reluctant to share but this place serves delicious simple food made with the finest ingredients. Even vegan food is tasty!!! and the coffee....

Fantastic! My girlfriend and I had walked past this place before and I had commented about the previous café that was situated here, so I had to go see what it was like now. Waiters were really friendly and were playing cool music, seems that they are doing some events in the future. Seems to be welcoming to all ages as families and elderly also came inside. General atmosphere was bright and fresh as there's loads of hanging plants. We had to sit at the side bar whilst we ordered, which is only suitable for coffee, as there are limited seating spaces inside. We had originally only entered to get a coffee and sit down but when we saw the lunch menu, we couldn’t say no to a little bit of munch. What’s even more pleasant, is that they continue to run the breakfast menu over lunch hours, wowzers. One of the best flat whites we've had in a while. The seitan sub I had was okay, I would prefer if they had the option of brown bread as this tastes better. My girlfriend made a better choice than me. She ordered the vegan sausage patty sandwich, which if they make themselves which I think they do, was delicious. However, would prefer more red blood mary sowce as it was dry. Would be nice if you could leave tips on the card machine for the great service. Will definitely come back again. Was near closing time, were those fresh cookies on the counter free, lol?

Super fresh & tasty breakfast at Nomad! Great selection of bites on the menu with well thought out veggie and vegan options, complimented with a large selection of drinks. Service was friendly, authentic and fast paired with a relaxed atmosphere. Music selection and decor was modern and inviting. Will definitely be returning to this lovely little cafe!

Very relaxing place to sup down a strong coffee. Good range of coffee and a surprisingly new range of quality craft beers on draft. Decent food menu. I just love to relax here, although there’s limited seating, and sometimes no room at all, especially near lunch time.

Gorgeous, tasty food and friendly staff

Great place been there and had tapas which was lovely and on another night the scouse which was great. Nice feeling about the place. Staff were pleasant and jovial. Good selection of unusual beer including a very strong one. Had one of them served as 3/4 of a pint very nice but decided to have less strong ones after that.
