The service was amazing and fast, the food was authentic Thai amazing and the spice level was on point 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ loved it. The shrimp and spicy salad were amazing.

As good as it gets in touristy area and city center. Although food is not 100% authentic, it is tasty and reasonably priced. Service was quick and attentive with food portion on the filling side. Restaurant was clean and staffs were friendly. Overall, a good stop for a filling meal in relaxing setting.

Yummy food I really love it. The staff are nice and the location is great. I advices to make reservation and choose the table next to the windows. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating areas.

The staffs were so friendly esp. the gentleman who welcame the guests at the front door. Restaurant interior design was beautiful and convivial. Food plating was pretty. The chicken pad thai was delicious but not so much with the tom yum - it felt too bland. The thai tea was excellent!

Really cute place. Last time I came it was delicious. This time I arrived for a booking at 8.30, staff were not friendly and immediately informed me I should order as the kitchen was closing. I said their website said 9.30, they said no-soon. I had a pad Thai which was gloopy and had a hair in it :( staff couldn’t care less so I paid and left. A shame as last time I came it was great

0827 2024 Pad Thai is really delicious, but if you can’t eat spicy food, don’t pour all the chili powder in at once. The pineapple fried rice is average and the amount of nuts is okay. I ate more than 300 yuan and was given two chocolates when I checked out.

The food is very delicious, authentic Thai flavor. I ordered the Shrimp Potion with basil, very large. The staff and staff provide good service. Cute and very friendly.

Small Thai restaurant next to the castle. The foods are tasty, service is exceptional but mind of the small space. They open at 12 (based on the clock tower of the castle, not your watch !). Be sure that you arrived just before 12, because the queue is quick to formed

Awful waitress, super mean! When we walked in, she told us we could only stay for an hour. Since we were waiting for the Tattoo performance, we didn’t plan to stay long anyway. When we ordered, we chose “chicken soap and egg fried rice, starters and snacks”, totaling around £19. She then told us there was a minimum spend requirement and insisted we order more expensive dishes. However, we 2 ppl weren’t very hungry and the performance was about to start, so we didn’t want to order too much. She then refused to serve us, and when we left, she snatched up the menus and slammed them on the table. I wonder if the owner of this place would check the CCTV and see how much money they can make with such snobbish and rude waitress.

Enjoyed a really lovely meal here. When we originally came by the place was packed and they didn’t have a free table but after walking to the bottom of the road and back past the restaurant, a member of staff explained that a table had just become free. I’m so glad it did as our meals were delicious. Marked down the service slightly as one of our meals was initially incorrect, then when our correct meal came, no cutlery was brought out and we had to wait a bit longer to catch a member of staffs attention. Recommend a visit though!

I recently dined at Nok’s Kitchen with my family of seven and we were very disappointed with our experience. Having just come from a 5-star restaurant that was cheaper and did not require tipping, the poor service and additional charges at Nok’s Kitchen were particularly frustrating. Service and Charges: The service was subpar, with staff showing a poor attitude throughout our meal. We were charged for service despite receiving minimal assistance. We were surprised to be charged extra for sauce, especially as our rice was served without any. The staff seemed indifferent and unhelpful, often bundling together rather than attending to guests. Perceived Discrimination: We felt we were treated differently due to our Asian origin, while Caucasian guests received better treatment. This perceived racism made our experience even more unpleasant. Overall, our time at Nok’s Kitchen was disappointing, and I would not recommend this restaurant based on our experience.

Food was great. I had the Chicken Panang Curry and my wife had the Pinapple fried rice with Prawns. Both were excellent. Prices were reasonable and service was good.

After walking what felt like a million miles in one day, our tired family stumbled upon this gem and randomly decided to eat here and we were so happy that we did! They were able to quickly accommodate a large group and the service was spectacular. The Thai tea was great and everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed the appetizers and entrees. Definitely recommend stopping here if you like flavorful, delicious Thai food.

Great food on the royal mile in Edinburgh!

The taste is mediocre, but it's very expensive, perhaps because it's located in the center of the center. I ate it for lunch, but I was charged for dinner at a famous restaurant on a different road. In general, it wasn't that good~ ㅠㅠ

Some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had. Each dish was delicious and perfect portion sizes. Excellent service and lovely staff who were really understanding when we showed up at the wrong restaurant (had booked Stockbridge instead!).

My daughter and I wandered in here early evening with no reservation. The restaurant was busy but we got a table. The restaurant is up near the castle and a great find. The food was delicious and the presentation was fantastic. Chicken satay skewer starter came bedded in sliced pineapple, the chicken was tender and the satay sauce was very tasty, spring rolls were crispy and very good. I had chicken and cashew nut stir fry which came in a delicious sauce and was served in a filo basket, it was delicious. My daughter chose Penang curry which was rich and flavoursome. Desserts looked interesting but we had no room! The staff were friendly and service was efficient. Would highly recommend this place if you're in Edinburgh.

Amazing place! Food is superb and service was top notch. They serve genuine Thai food and the portion is more than enough. Staff are always mindful of any allergies and they can change the dish as you please. Do come early as they are always full. A solid 10/10

Ambience was good but the staff was very rude. They ll a lot a time for you to leave . It’s not crowded yet they behave as if they are over booked. Food was ok . Service was bare minimum.

The service here is extremely terrible and I think I suffer from some racist offense. As 2 Asian customers we still have some allergies on the food however, the waitress did not ask us about good allergy, but instead we clearly heard them to ask the White people just behind us about the food allergy condition. One of the waitress ignored us even when we tried to call her. They even did not allow us to cancel the service charge even when we didn’t receive any kind of service, which is pretty bad.

Food was good but got forced to pay service charge, when we didn’t pay it they asked us why and kept asking if it was something they had did wrong.Never felt embarrassed and uncomfortable like this before and I just put the service charge on and left.The menu clearly states service charge was optional but there was this particular women that would not let us leave and told us we were short of paying the service charge. She was very persistent and rude so a warning to others that decide to eat at this restaurant.

After having horrible luck finding a place to eat that didn't require reservations, we stumbled on to Nok's. I don't eat Thai food often, so I'm no expert, but our food was really delicious. The service was much better than you expect in Edinburgh and our food came out quickly. We sat outside and enjoyed the view of the castle. If you like Thai food then you will probably enjoy eating here.

Fabulous food, staff and ambiance. Maybe one of my favorite Thai meals. We tried about 5 different dishes and every one of them was great. Highly recommend this restaurant.

This would have to be the most ordinary yet expensive Thai I’ve ever had. Ever. Service was ordinary and then they slap a ‘service’ charge on the bill.

They are really rude employees. Even it takes really long until their waiters are coming.

I went with a friend today and as soon as we enter the restaurant the person addressed us asked us to have a seat and as we sit she asked us to move to other table because the one we had is for drinking. We moved to the other table and 3 more people followed us and taken the same table we had in the start and they were not drinking that story ends there clearly there is a difference in treating people.Following to this she came to us to take order with a mean face and I was trying to compose myself and trying to order and she grabbed the menu and this point from my hand once I am done and trying to think what else I can order I got upset at this point by this behaviour and asked her can I have the menu back please she started breathing heavy and given the menu back. While serving she sent another person and from that point she never came back to the table. This is my second time visit here and I am disappointed with the person’s behaviour the food is great but this behaviour need to be changed. I am sorry for this but she pushed me to leave this review and I may not come back again. Thank you 🙏🏽

This is a ridiculous place that discriminates against its customers. The woman who appears to be the manager at the counter is Thai herself, but she looks down on Asian customers and treats them in an overbearing manner. (This manager must think of himself as an honorary white man) While serving other white customers kindly, they looked down on me, an Asian customer who came alone, and behaved as if they were begging for beggars (the price of the food is also expensive compared to the taste and quantity), and in a noble manner made the customer feel like he was a sinner. It makes me feel good. If you're a neatly dressed white person, you might expect to be treated well at this restaurant, but if you're Asian or a solo customer with no money, I'd discourage you from entering this restaurant.

Definitely not recommended! I don’t judge the food but just tell you that the service attitude is the most terrible in my all restaurant experiences. Especially some of the waitresses, only cold face and tough talk to us when I asked them politely if they had a chair available for our heavy backpacks, and even when I needed the menu to add some food. One of them was even very impatient and unfriendly. We had old people and little kid and we stayed quietly in the noisy restaurant. I don’t know why they treated their guest like this? Totally ruined our image of Thais.

I’m Thai and I can say that this is my favorite Thai restaurant in UK. Their Pad Padkapao is really close to the word “ authentic “ also the Thai tea was amazing.

What a great Thai place! They were so lovely and polite and had an amazing selection of dishes. We took our clients here for a meal and they were NOT disappointed. They could do with a cider on the menu, but the cocktail I had instead was EXCEPTIONAL. We will be taking our clients here in future.

One of my favourite Thai restaurants in Edinburgh. Food is authentic and beautifully presented. I put a 4 stars rating for food because of the sweetness of the Pad Thai and Green Curry. I would prefer it to be less sweet but authentic Pad Thai and Green Curry are usually sweet. The Stir Fried Roasted Duck was divine. So full of flavour and it goes well with jasmine rice. Sad that their Mango Sticky Rice was not available because mangoes are not in season🥹 Atmosphere was okay. It was quite fancy but felt quite stormy inside. (Lol I don’t quite know how go describe it) Very much recommend this place if you are looking for real Thai food!

Stopped whilst walking up the Royal Mile, so pleased we had worked up an appetite.We didn't have a reservation but they managed to squeeze us in. Family of four, all enjoyed our meals including the Tom Khan soup and Chicken Satay. My daughter said the chicken massaman was the nicest she had ever eaten. My husband enjoyed the Panang curry. The Thai ice tea was delicious too. Will come back again during our Edinburgh stay

Excellent food. Great atmosphere in a simple restaurant with attentive and friendly staff. The specialist starter was delicious only surpassed by the main. I had nutty curry with sirloin, the sauce was immense. My wife had the massamman curry with chicken, again a joy to eat. We have both been to Malaysia and Singapore a couple of times and truly, we have jot eaten better food than Nok Kitchen provided.

This is a fast food restaurant - 2 courses in an hour. So not somewhere you hope to spend an evening. We’ve been here a few times and it’s always the same time wise. The food is ok. As our favourite, quality restaurant - Passorn closed, we’re still trying to find a good alternative. The service and staff here are excellent.

The food is quite good (eventhough still below the quality of thai food in Asia). But the annoying part is the lady waitress here in pic who was VERY RUDE. She abandoned us, refused to give us the better table, she put her hands up refusing us to go to our table when she thought it was not ready yet. It was totally a bad experience, not recommending anyone to visit the restaurant until she fix her attitude.

First visit to Nok's Kitchen although it has been on our to do list for some time. Cannot fault the quality of food or service although disappointed that no lunch menu was available at the 'on the castle' restaurant yet available in Stockbridge.

If your looking for a Thai restaurant avoid avoid AVOID. This one of these times a ZERO STAR should be available, staff are not Thai friendly.. ordering the fried fish.. what we got was battered fish?????.. topped with oinions, peanuts and cold sauce. Have eaten this before all over the world.. when we explained when it came not what we expected told sorry you pay,, l would of paid half and ordered something else.. as it was the food went into the bin??? Un eaten. And a bad review.. In the end l worked 20 years as a GM. In a restaurant, never did l say to customer "You don't like you pay".. it should always be sorry let me take that off for you WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE .. Discussting place.

Booked at the last minute and glad we did. Service was quick efficient and all the food was great. Only criticism was the sharing platter to start was probably just a bit over priced but this was offset by the great soup we had which was fantastic. Only one kids option when we visited but kids seemed happy enough and tried a lot of the great Thai food. Good value for money.

Een kleine Thais restauranttje met goed eten. De service was vriendelijk (in tegenstelling tot de andere reviews). Het eten komt heel snel en het restaurant werkt in shifts. Als je lang wilt tafelen en gezellig wilt zitten is dit niet de plek om uit eten te gaan. Wil je goed Thais eten en vind je het niet erg om snel het eten op tafel te hebben en binnen 2 uur weer buiten te staan, dan raad ik het zeker aan!

Honestly, the food is brilliant but the service is beyond atrocious. Had a booking for 8.30 and was told the table would be ready from 7.45 in a text message. We turned up at 8.10 or so just to be told to wait until the table was ready. Menus were given to us at this point to look at while standing in the tiny area at the host stand, and the second we sat down at the table we were asked for the order. At this point we were also told the kitchen closed at 9pm ( a full 40 minutes away) and that the mains and starters would come at the same time. Sorry but you're a restaurant in the city centre of Edinburgh and to rush the customers like this is just plain bad service. Whilst eating, with all the food coming out randomly (with my curry arriving before the soup) they would try to clear plates and glasses without having finished each dish. They even looked annoyed at ordering a second drink and the bill was given to us without asking for it whilst 1 member of the party was literally still eating their main course. We were not offered desserts or anything and this was a special occasion for my partner's birthday. The food was great but I'll never be back because the servers made us feel very unwelcome and only cared about finishing early. I work in hospitality myself so I hate having to write this review but needs must when I've received such horrible service.
