Quirky bar/cafe. Relaxed atmosphere. Fantastic staff and great food. We will definitely go back.

Friendly staff but the food was quite average

Venison burger was the best burger I’ve ever had.

We arrived for Mother's Day and was given a table at the door on a very cold day. Asked for a warmer seat but was told all tables reserved. But there were empty tables all the time we were. Waited 20mins for drinks order then advised that the wine we ordered was out stock. Duck was over cooked and couldn't cut thru one portion. Was so miserable with the coldness couldn't be bothered to complain. Will not be back. Although I feel the staff who were having a nice chat behind the bar wouldn't care.

Came in for the Sunday roast, for a birthday which we had specified on the booking. Staff came over instantly asking for a drinks order but we were not quite ready and asked for a few minutes. It was over 20 minutes before they came back to take this order, despite the restaurant only having a handful of tables in. Once we eventually got a drinks order in we had a further wait as the staff chatted behind the bar. Food came relatively quickly when we eventually got the food order in and everyone really enjoyed their meals. Those on the roast got one small gravy boat to share, and again we could not flag down the waitress to ask for more. After the meal was cleared we were discussing if we would have some more drinks, but we were never asked and after sitting with nothing for almost 20 minutes, we decided to move on next door to finish our evening with some drinks in Malones. Food was really good, but not sure I would come back due to the service. We felt like we were inconveniencing the waitress serving the tables and I would not like to see the wait if they had more than 5 tables in at once.. We had specified that this was a special event but no care was taken for our table to make the celebration memorable.

Nobles is following the trend of serving bad food at high prices. £19 for a burger is ridiculous The menu is limited and expensive and nothing on it that inspires.

A late afternoon family brunch / early dinner in Nobles. Steak sandwiches all round and they were delicious. Would highly recommend this place for a casual drink and meal. Service was very good and the drinks were excellent. 👍

It was a really beautiful experience and service. I enjoyed the meal even as a non Scottish. Will want to visit again.

Great service and excellent food. We stumbled across this bar walking through Leith and we were not disappointed! Manuel took such good care of us and the whole restaurant. We especially loved the truffle fries:)

The food was amazing. I had the salmon with the chorizo risotto. The staff was very nice and welcoming. Would 100% recommend!

A great wee meet up with family with a tram directly opposite.

Always enjoy our visits here (living locally we drop in every few months). Food is usually spot on, as are the drinks. Interior and staff great

lunch today, food very good, service same. place freezing, went in around 12, sat near fire, heat non existent, put it off venue, don't think we'd return due ti lack of heat.

The food was delicious, we had a sunday roast and the pumpkin risotto, both really great. For dessert, we can definitely recommend the sticky toffee pudding! Staff are very kind and quick to help. Pub has a cozy atmosphere, only the bathrooms are a bit cold. All in all, a really nice place - would come back again!

We went to Nobles for a family, pre-theatre lunch. It was our first time, and we will definitely be back. The interior had lovely wood panelling and artwork/photos, and the staff were very friendly. The food was delicious, cooked by the lovely Sultana. The location was handy for us as we were staying at Malmaison at The Shore, and then it was a short taxi ride into the city centre for a show :):)

We used to love going to Nobles for fish and chips. We went back recently and discovered that they no longer do their fresh cut Rosemary chips with the fish. The do them with ‘ Chunky Chips’, which are frozen. They do sell Rosemary Chips, but they are skinny fries with Rosemary salt, not the actual herb. Very disappointed. They charge £19 for this plate of food, and for that price, it should come with proper chips. We didn’t rate the service the guy gave us either. Quite abrupt, and not very friendly. It’s a shame, as it’s still a gorgeous pub to visit. I’m guessing that Covid and the tram situation has caused them to cut back a bit, and it was very quiet inside.

The servers are lovely and the atmosphere is really nice. The happy hour cocktail I got was incredible too and such a good price. We just felt disappointed by the lack of vegan options on the food menu. I’ve been to brunch a couple times and the vegan options are great at nobles, but not so much for dinners. The only meal you could get vegan was a warm salad. Would have been nice to be able to order a burger or something. We just ended up getting the rosemary fries which were nothing to write home about either - just your most basic semi-undercooked fries. Want to emphasize the lovely servers and great service, but suggest a little update to the menu :)

Warm, friendly atmosphere. Good selection of cocktails. We were there early evening and enjoyed the table service for our drinks order. Also enjoyed being able to hold a conversation without having to raise our voices.

Delicious small plates in a stylish bar/restaurant

Nobles is one of the best bars in Leith - great atmosphere, fast friendly service and super food and drink. This is quality so there is a price to pay - but worth the bit extra - tonight it was a table for one - excellent fish and chips and good beer - as always a quality choice - oh and now a tram stop just outside the door !

It's always great here. Top pub, lovely to site outside and watch the world go by.

Delightful staff, great food and atmosphere.

We first tried to go to Nobles, a beautiful old restaurant in Leith, on Saturday, July 15 but we foolishly did not have a reservation. The restaurant was packed! We came the next night and it was much quieter. I was with my husband, our son and two daughters. We ordered drinks and three of us ordered the Steak Frites. One daughter had the Cod and the other daughter had the Chicken Bun. We had seen "Sunday Roast" on the sign outside and my son was hoping to order a Sunday Roast dinner. But I think that Sunday Roast is the name of the menu and is not actually "on" the menu! At the end of the meal, our server had disappeared for quite a while. I went up to the bar and was able to pay for the meal there.

Best brunch I've had in the city. This place is class. Good prices. 10/10

Gemütlicher Pub im Ortsteil Leith/ Edinburgh. Urig eingerichtet mit Möbeln aus dunklem Holz, schönem Tresen mit guter Auswahl an Drinks, vor allem Whisky und Gin. Die Bedienung war supernett, dass Essen sehr lecker. Dem Koch konnten wir bei der Arbeit zuschauen.

I have been a few times now for food, but never again will I eat there. In future it will only be for coffee because I love the decor and it seems the only thing they can do right. I tried a cauliflower steak a week or so ago. It was basically a slice of raw cauliflower with vegan cheese melted on top. I was there again this morning and tried their vegan breakfast. It was a grey potato rosti and a few slices of dried up mushrooms, a tough vegan sausage and dry haggis, a grilled tomato and tasteless homemade baked beans. I picked at it and left hungry. All for the princely amount of £15. Never again!

Only went for a few drinks so can't comment about food. Drinks were nice, the atmosphere was nice and the person in charge remained calm and nice at all times even though he had to remind a few of us to stop taking drinks out with us - shows professionalism.

Hopped off the tram on the way home from town for a cocktail. Great service always in this beautiful traditional bar. Well curated selection of craft beers, wines and a pleasing range of cocktails. Drinks were well made - would recommend

Very easy to get to because its right on the tram line. We just had a pint at this beautiful old pub after touring the royal yacht Brittania. Tram stop is The Shores.

Lovely place, just a bit busy, I think the waitress didn't have time to ask our 8 people table if we like the food... Cold service but profecional enough during taking the order. Beautiful windows :) I enjoyed that visit. Thank you guys. Kind regards. Krystian

Gezellig druk restaurant in de wijk Leith. Zeer attente en vriendelijke bediening. Prima keuken, heerlijk gegeten. Tip: vooraf reserveren om zeker te zijn van een plekje. Aanrader!

Came here for a lovely Saturday brunch with friends. I ordered the Scottish breakfast. Nice presentation but just a couple of odd things. No butter for the toast and the beans... they were curried. Was not expecting it, and no where on the menu did it state they were spicy beans but proceeded to tip them on my breakfast before discovering this. Lesson learnt!

Loved this restaurant. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and nothing was to much trouble. The food was excellent and we were so comfortable at our table we stayed for cocktails. I think we were the last to leave! Thanks to all the staff for a lovely evening.

Tasty options for vegetarians. Interesting old bar with nice decor. Friendly staff. Glad we took ourselves out of the city centre to go there. Nice walks along water front ten minutes away.

Nobles has a charming atmosphere, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. The meals are comforting and delicious, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite. While the interior of the pub may be getting a bit outdated, this in no way detracted from my experience. However, it would be great to see a refurbishment in the very near future to elevate the space and make it even more enjoyable for future customers.

Came in for breakfast, had Eggs Florentine and Smoked Borlotti beans and both were fantastic.

A great find in Leith. A venue that has certainly come a long way from its dark past. Warm welcoming and a reasonable selection of beers . Could do with Guinness (hint hint) fair to say we will be back on more than one occasion.

A really nice place in Leith to grab something to eat or just to have a few drinks. Staff is very friendly. As lot of places in Leith, the place is dog friendly so you can bring your furry friends too. If you want to try a proper full Scottish breakfast though, I would recommend to have it elsewhere.

This has always been one of my favourite pubs in Leith (and Edinburgh). A really nice, historic interior, it's the kind of place you can while away an afternoon or evening with friends without realising that hours have passed.

A very nice pub in Leith, which we visited for a late breakfast. It's beautifully decorated, with a really nice atmosphere. The brunch was pretty good and we a lot to choose from. We had the full Scottish breakfast, the Salmon Eggs Benedict and the Fried chicken burger, all very good.

Updated from 5* to 4* (29/12/22) Been here a few times and the service and atmosphere are always terrific, veggie options are not amazing but not bad. Updated because we recently got a puppy and thought we'd take him in (we'd seen other dogs in here). Turns out you can't take dogs after 6. That was disappointing! We'd been looking forward to dinner all evening. Still a nice place to go, but can't go back for dinner now we have the pup, unfortunately..

Delicious food in a lovely setting (very cosy with fires and festive lights). The food was delicious and well presented. The staff were amazing - friendly and very welcoming. First time staying in Leith and this certainly set us up for a special evening. We will definitely return and would most certainly recommend

I feel a bit torn writing this review, and the only reason I'm not giving it 3 stars is that the staff were so lovely and attentive and the food was of a high standard. The downside, which to me was so significant that I will never return was the price of the food. I understand there's a cost of living crisis and prices are rising but the only vegan option for a main was a butternut squash and tofu salad which cost in the region of £18. The vegan dining with us didn't order it because he knew a salad wouldn't be substantial enough for him. Bits of butternut squash and tofu should not cost £18, especially not in a pub. All of the guests I dined with only ordered starters and 2 drinks each, the bill came to £40+ a head and we all went to stories for a pasty after. As I'd organised the meal, I felt pretty embarrassed and I really wish I'd checked the vegan options before going.

Wonderful meal at this gorgeous spot in Leith. Beautiful interior, and great music. Staff couldn’t have been friendlier, and the food was divine. Sticky toffee pudding is a must have! Thanks to all who served us

Be ready to wait 40 mins for your meal with an empty hall.

I had a birthday dinner here with my wife in October 2021 and asked for eggs with my steak instead of chips and salad. Seemingly, I was asking too much: they wouldn’t do it. The eggs were downstairs apparently! What we did have took an age to arrive. We were on the verge of leaving it took so long. The steak I had was acceptable, but come on, won’t do eggs? Ridiculous. It’s the only restaurant in the locality I’ve been to, and I’ve been to many of them, which wouldn’t provide eggs in lieu of chips etc. Needless to say, I’ve not been back for food since.

Walk in on a Friday night with my girlfriend. Warm welcome and shown to a table promptly. Delicious food and a good choice f craft beers and wines. Well looked after by all staff. Highly recommended. We will be back. Thanks from Marc and Joanne.

Had some drinks outside late afternoon in early September (festival over) very quiet no cars because of tram works. Excellent service and helpful advice on choosing a local beer.

This place was a last minute find, but boy was it good. We had a business meeting here, and the staff was super accommodating. The food was super tasty, and very vegetarian friendly. Last, their desserts are truly incredible. If you can, try the rice pudding with rhubarb. It's yum yum.
