Noah's Ark Inn in Derby

I was man handled twice by the DJ and also the 'manager' just for dancing near the DJ booth. I have marks on my arm where I was manhandled and will be reporting this incident to the police: not once was I asked to leave or anything. Just literally thrown out. They also both looked extremely intoxicated, I have a video which was recorded just after the assault in which, even their bouncer looked concerned that they had acted way over the top . I will be using this as evidence

We called in this pub for a drink as our bus home had been cancelled. It seemed OK, although a little noisy for us even though we went in the ‘quiet side’. We had one drink each (pint of Strongbow and San Miguel) and as my local pub (Wetherspoons) had stopped selling Strongbow, I asked my OH to ask the bar staff if I could buy a pint glass whilst I went to the toilet. When I came back, OH said the bar staff (may have been the landlady) said we could have the glass but my OH insisted on making a donation to the charity box on the bar. I laid the glass on top of my bag on top of my scarf and we left the pub. All good so far…until a jumped-up oick of a security guard accused me of stealing the glass. I told him he was wrong but he refused to back down until another drinker chipped in to confirm that he had heard the conversation inside the pub. This security guard must be a little dim because if someone intended to steal a glass, they’d probably have hidden it better than just on the top of their bag. Maybe he needs retraining on which sort of people are more likely to be potential thieves and also on appropriate behaviour when he is proved wrong. I wonder how many 70 year old ladies less than 5 feet tall this security guard accuses of stealing when they are leaving the pub at 6:50pm? Ironically, there is a sign outside that reads something like ‘a unique pub with a friendly atmosphere’. Not in my experience. Never again.

Drinks with family and friends all very enjoyable. Singing and dancing added to an evening in a proper pub with lots of happy people. Lovely

Drinkers pub near the bus station. Decent beers and other drinks with Guinness always on top form. Last of a dying breed.

Pub wasn’t very busy shame as the ale was very good and I had a sausage sandwich which was delicious

Moody staff trying to serve beer in a dull atmosphere, worth a pint, but just the one and then move on, better places to drink.

Lunchtime session to celebrate birthday and all is as should be in this proper pub. Excellent quality Bass. Recommended

Visited for first drink in town on a karoke lively night in the pub, service was quick with only one person behind the bar and lots of people constantly wanting servicing, she coped very well, well worth a pint.

Its near the bus station and a good place to have a drink if your on a pub crawl, good choices of alcohol, a real pub with no bells and whistles, well worth a pint.

The place is quaint, & rather on the small side. Mens loos stink, as the day goes by. Bar staff & local customers are gr8, but you do get the odd moron pushing their luck. Drinks can be costly, especially the bottled ones. Take out a hefty loan, if you want to make a full day of it, the money will pay for the landladys next, frequent holidays abroad, at your expense. IT'S TRUE, IT'S DAMNED TRUE!!!

Good meeeting place. No frills pub but customers a good mixture of locals and those in the know. It's a pub and precious few proper boozers left so glad this one is.

popped in for a quick drink before getting a taxi elsewhere - first impressions - freezing !!! the "locals" in the bar were very talkative and in fact we moved to the lounge to get away from conversation as we wanted to talk to each other not the whole pub! left after one drink nice paintings on the wall but don't expect too much if going in here

Very good band tribute to AC/DC will be going back there again very good bar staff and friendly Good good also not much to look at but inside you was made to feel welcome which to me is good

Fantastic Little Pub in the Moroledge The Noahs Ark. it's about one of the only pubs that's kept the original form. you'll meet the stars in there. hand paint images of the Beatles, David Bowie, Freddy Mercury, Bob Marley to name a few. Fantastic landlady, friendly staff. beers great you can tell the lines are done very regularly. Donald Trump Look a like might be there.. small beer garden, suits young and old caters for all. Fantastic music ECT...

Very satisfied in this restaurant and also is like a pub. They play musis allthe time from the 60's,70's,80's and 90's. Very relaxing and cosy inside. We enjoyed the food and listening to that kind of music while eating and brought to us a lot of good memory.

What a lovely pub very old traditional just how they should be as many modernise them great chatting to the locals They had 2 handpulls for ales which were very popular in shall be visiting again

Patronising bar staff who insult you if you have a disability Seriously don't waste your money in that place. The women behind the bar was mocking my skin condition and encouraging the public to join in. They didn't think I noticed I felt humiliated and embarrassed and will never be going in there so long as I live. If you are disabled stay away from here.

Popped in here for a few beers whilst staying locally. Great bar staff, lovely cold beer and it must have the prettiest little smoking area I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Next time I stay I'm coming straight back here.

Great Derby pub been there years it is really an older persons pub not a young ones as the pub...

Qué linda poco pub preciosas obras de arte agradecidos cervezas tuve el Bass tiene 2 handpulls. El personal es amable y hablador. Estaba muy bien y limpia especialmente los inodoros en general una encantadora visita en húmedo por la tarde

This inn has been around under this name for a very long time. The fake half-timbered front dates from the 1920s, but the low beams and alcoves inside are much earlier.Unfortunately that’s about the only good thing I can say about it ! Everything is just urgently screaming out for renovation / investment. From the wallpaper featuring cases of wine to a traditional large fireplace with a very small gas fire, a TV that is switched off, low level muzak, and a board proclaiming “live acts” which was otherwise totally empty. A miserable clientele taking up as much space as possible without actually being with anyone else !There were two handpumps, serving Doom Bar and Bass. Needless to say I chose the latter, and it was reasonable.

The pub was clean and the beer was fine, had karaoke on the Friday night we called in. A ok pub for a couple of drinks

Didn't like this pub at all! Sat having to listen to how the landlady didn't like the competition next door! And saw her dipping into her own till!! Strange one that! Pub was on the dirty side sticky bar dusty glasses and awful beer! Avoid this pub it's the worst one I have been to yet!

Rather peculiar little pub in the city centre of Derby. No real ales (as of 2015), but karaoke in the evening.This is a rather smallish pub in Derby, a teensy bit grubby, a bit rough - if they were serving real ales they'd certainly make the CAMRA Good Beer Guide (grubbiness being a must). Sadly, they don't. Instead, you get the ordinary selection of lagers, plus mostly bland British beers like Worthington's Bitter (not the wonderful White Shield, alas!) and John Smith's. Nothing to write home about.When I visited there was also a rather eccentric motley assortment of people in leather garb present, and they started the karaoke at about 6 p.m. (on a weeknight). I had a couple of pints, then left. Staff are friendly though.There are so many fine real ale pubs in central Derby (The Flower Pot and The Silk Mill come easily to mind). No reason, then, to hang out here except for special customers.
