The sushi was some of the best I’ve ever had – really fresh and soul touching. The main course was also very good, but the sushi definitely stood out.

Staff are nice ! Seafood fried udon is a must try ! Seafood friend Udon- 8/10 Eel Roll - 7/10 Miso Chicken Ramen - 6/10

We have been to Noa many times, and have taken friends and family here. Every single visit has been incredible. Our favourite sushi restaurant in the UK. Today, we visited for Mother's Day. My mum has a gluten and citrus allergy, and the service team couldn't have been more helpful. They went through each menu item, and made the chef aware too. Thank you so much for looking after us. Lovely restaurant, great team, wonderful atmosphere and just the best sushi. The Dragon Roll and Tempura Crab sushi are our favourites!

The sushi was delicious and fresh! We had a big order and even got an extra free roll! We'll definitely order again, especially the takoyaki.

Ordered sushi. Sooo much rice and barely any toppings, so unappealing and tasteless. Really disappointed as it wasnt cheap.

I got their sushi lunch box, specifically the salmon and man oh man was it good! The salmon was really fresh and flavorful! I also never write reviews. Hope others enjoy their food here too!

Food is great, a family favourite. I have been going there for years now. The QR code menu allows people to order drinks and food to come quickly. Though when it’s busier it is expected to come slower. . The staff is very friendly and they still offer a paper menu but the service for your food might be slower due to all the deliveroo people. A wide range of flavours but I love it

I recently visited this restaurant with high expectations, given its reputation as a Japanese eatery. Unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. To begin with, the service left much to be desired. The staff seemed inattentive and disorganised, with long waits for both orders and basic requests like water refills. This lack of attentiveness detracted significantly from the overall dining experience. Moreover, the quality of the ingredients was disappointing. The sashimi lacked the freshness one would expect from a Japanese restaurant, with a texture and taste that raised concerns about its handling and sourcing. Similarly, other dishes, such as the tempura, felt overly greasy and lacked the crisp lightness characteristic of authentic Japanese cuisine. Lastly, the flavors of the dishes failed to capture the essence of traditional Japanese food. The miso soup was overly salty, and the sushi rolls seemed to cater more to generic tastes than to any semblance of authenticity. Overall, I regret to say that this restaurant did not live up to its promise. I hope the management takes steps to address these issues, as they fall short of the standard one expects from an establishment presenting itself as a purveyor of Japanese cuisine.

Fantastic food, great efficient service. The lady who served us was so kind and friendly. The chicken ramen is my favourite - super rich broth complimented by delicious noodle. The only thing missing is ramen egg. A brilliant dining experience overall and would defo return!

A firm Bristol favourite for authentic Japanese food. A little bit expensive, but the delicious food and variety of option make it so worth it! Staff at the restaurant are always very welcoming and food quality is very consistent.

Less mayo garnish would be appreciated on all sushi. The scallop sashimi was not fresh had a fishy taste.

I had an incredible dining experience at Noa Japanese. The red miso black cod was an absolute standout—perfectly cooked, rich, and bursting with umami flavor that melted in my mouth. Every bite was a testament to the care they put into sourcing and preparing their fish. We were in the Clifton area and as we were looking for Asian we stumbled upon this little gem. It is not easy to see, since it is in a semi-basement (one of its negatives). A big bona fide shop, clean and well-kept. Small and good menu, perhaps with the freshest and crispest sushi I've had in a long time. The ramen was also perfectly cooked, which was necessary for a cold day. I will go again for sure!

I had lunch at this wonderful Japanese restaurant in Clifton. It's located in an amazing part of the city, not far from the iconic Clifton Suspension Bridge. The restaurant itself is quiet and cozy, providing a perfect atmosphere for a relaxing meal. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, which made the experience even better. The food was delicious, fresh, and full of flavor. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a great dining experience in Bristol!

Their Harumaki's are UNREAL! Some of the best spring rolls I've ever had. I'd say some meals are a bit overpriced but it's in Clifton so you'd expect restaurants to be overpriced. Nonetheless, it was still nice.

The food was delicious, I had the Chicken Udon Soup. The staff was really lovely, only two of them in the restaurant. The atmosphere was nice and calm. And although we came in at an odd time we were given choice and served quickly. Exactly the thing my family and I needed, we all loved it!

Good quality sashimi and sushi. Donburi does not taste authentic - more of stir fry. Service is not bad, but would have wanted more attentiveness since the restaurant was not even halfway full when we were there. On the plus side food came in a timely manner.

Very nice fresh and quality tasty food. But one minus for service; extra charge automatically 10% no body say to us about servis charge extra on the end and beginning order. Ordered via Deliveroo, have to say the salmon sashimi and scallop sashimi were excellent and I will certainly be ordering again. The surf clams were slightly tasteless and one I had was gritty, but glad to say there were no nasty surprises the next day. The tempura crab and squid was good too but nothing special.

This restaurant has been my first ever try today and I must say BLIMEY, the food is absolutely wonderful! Down to the simple things like the packaging of the food, the quality and the smell is SUBLIME! My best friend is a regular customer and has recommended for me to try the food today, and I must say that I am in no way disappointed! The presentation and taste is Michelin star quality! Great place, great food, great staff

We’ve only ordered takeaway from Noa but it’s quickly become our favourite place for Japanese food. We always order sushi and shashimi and the quality and flavour is excellent but without a Soho price tag. There are a lot of decent Japanese restaurants in Bristol and for us this has to rate as one of the best. Try a dragon roll, wakami roll, spiced roll and mixed shashimi. Their crispy chicken dishes are fire too and they often have promotions if you spend a certain amount. Love you Noa!

I’ve ordered the crispy beef teriyaki with rice and tuna maki roll. Overall the food tastes good. However, I believe some improvements can be made such as making the teriyaki sauce less sweet as the sugar was way too much in the sauce. The tuna didn’t taste too fresh as well.

Warm welcome. The setting was well laid out and very clean. The staff were efficient and polite. Ordering was on line and simple to use. We were very impressed with the IT. The food was excellent, menu selection was not huge but well balanced, fresh , fast and delivered with care and of course delicious. Fair cost . Definitely will be returning to this little restaurant.

My family and I love this restaurant, best Japanese we've found in Bristol. Though it's not too expensive, we can't afford to eat out as often as we'd like but still go whenever we can find an excuse. Particular favourite dishes are their chicken karaage, chicken teriyaki, katsu curry and agedashi tofu, but we've enjoyed everything we've tried here, so you can't really go wrong.

We were here on a Monday night for a special occasion. It was quite quiet at the time but the atmosphere was good and the service was great. The food was delicious and fresh. It's not cheap but normal prices for a Japanese restaurant in the area - and totally worth it. We will definitely return!

Very well priced food, which was served super quick. The temaki and maki were excellent but I managed to get a fried noodle instead of a ramen that I wanted. Maybe my fault but the ordering app doesn't make it very clear.

A pleasant sushi restaurant within Clifton village. It has plenty of seating, though situated underground so slightly dark. Order food within the restraint by app, plenty of options and tasty food too.

Lovely little Japanese space, the food was great and they had lovely staff who helped us order lovely food, i got got some avacado+salmon maki rolls and the beef teriyaki, sharing a lime and coconut cheese cake. Will be sure to come back for the lunch time bento box.

We always come back because the service is friendly and fast, the food is good (tempura especially, when compared to other places) and our kids love freshly-prepared sushi and sashimi! Some of the chairs feel quite wobbly, so we switch if we get one of those. The food menu is varied enough that there's plenty of options depending on our mood. Soft drinks offering is more limited, with a number of items always out of stock.

I went there after reading all the positive google reviews, and it was disappointing to say the least... I don’t base my review on the fact the place is ran by chinese and not japanese people, but only by judging the food quality and taste. None of the sushi and rolls dishes we ordered was fresh: frankly it all looked and tasted like ready made stuff bought from a wholesaler and just served out of the box. Ramen was underwhelming, no egg, no bamboo shoots, no sea weed, just some broth and noodles with a couple slices of boiled chicken breast. I could easily cook something better at home (and I don’t know how to cook ramen); from the many ramen bowls I ate in my life, this was by far the worst one. This disappointing experience made me wonder if there was a change of owners since the last reviews, because I really don’t understand the high rating… or maybe because I lived in Asia for 15 years and traveled many times to Japan, I have an idea of how good japanese food tastes.

The food is really good but due to them prioritising Deliveroo over restaurant customers l, the service can be very slow. Prepare to wait and often have to chase for drinks and some food items took a while or didn’t show up. It is a real shame as the food is actually good, but the churn of Deliveroo drivers and the priority of them over customers , it just isn’t worth coming in :-(

Service - the lady server was polite and helpful, no communication issues at all. I told her I could not use the QR code and she manually took our order instead without a reservation. Order waiting was fair. Food - good quality and full of umami, from the miso soup to every single content and detail of our bento box. Miso soup was remarkably satisfying - hot and fresh and flavorful. We wanted to ask for more! The sashimis and the maki are superb. The tempura was so crunchy, freshly cooked, and stimulating. The makis have this distinct nice flavor inside. Mango and avocado maybe? Super like it. Price - i think they are especially priced, but could be pricey for some Location -it's right in Clifton. Be mindful when entering the establishment, as there is a 4 level steps going down before you reach the door. Toilet - toilet is good (my wife told me), it comes with a nappy changing bassinet. Was a bit cold inside as the window was kept open. The men's room is okay. Ambience - there were not a lot of people inside, so good for us as we came with our baby who was on a pram. Homey and cozy feeling inside.

Food was really lovely and good value. Staff as pleasant as they all were, just could not cope with a large group (30 of us) they shouldn't take large bookings if they can't deal with it. Very slow service, waitresses got muddled with orders. We stood waiting to pay for at least 15mins wouldn't let us pay until whole table were ready to pay. Dislike the having to order by QR code. However the beauty of that is it does tell you how much your individual order was, all the more reason payment should have been easy. Parking is VERY difficult in the area, though obviously not the restuarants fault but it is off putting.

We had a late lunch here last month. Ordered wakame salad, takoyaki, beef donburi, a couple plates of sushi rolls, and matcha ice cream for dessert. Everything was decent and the service was excellent.

Awful! Restaurant was empty and waitress was insistent we used online ordering despite the fact we were the only cusomters, their restaurant is in a blackspot and their wifi didnt work. Left and went to a place round the corner, so many better choices in the area

I ordered as a takeaway. Quite tasty, good variety of rolls to choose from, I like that you can get a half size roll as well. I had spicy tuna roll and crunch salmon roll and both were great. I also had the gyoza which I really liked as well.

During covid we were forced to go to Clifton instead of zanzibar and to make the experience on par we committed to go to the best restaurants in the area. Noa ended up on our radar thanks to a friends recommendation and we came here twice in a single week. The food was absolutely incredible. The highlight was the dragon roll, I must have eaten four of them over the course of a week. An unpresuming Japanese restaurant in a romantic part of town and hands down the best Japanese restaurant I have been to in the last 10 years. Untold thanks to the kitchen staff.

Bad culinary cosplay! Overpriced and low quality Chinese impression of Japanese food. Ordering is via a clunky app you have to get on their WiFi to use. Spicy tuna temaki was lacking in tuna and instead stuffed with rice and sad salad, the spicy being brought by big globs of sriracha. Crispy beef teriyaki was OK but big chunky greasy veg that came with was unappetising. Didn't come with rice but was offered rice which turned out to be £2.70 for a small bowl when the bill came. Used to be so good but quality has vastly dropped in the intervening years

Least authentic Japanese food in Bristol. Very overpriced and highly disappointing. The "fried" chicken udon noodles were a flavourless sloppy mess with boiled chicken. Vegetable tempura was OK.

Almost every other Japanese restaurant I have been too, has been a haven of minimalist calm and serenity. This is the exception - clutter describes it quite well. Like Wetherspoons, there is table service via an app. This works very well after one puts in the correct wi-fi address whicis incorrectly promulgated everywhere - this, dear reader, hopefully, has been corrected by now. No complaints about the food though - as authentic as it could possibly be. Many previous reviewers have made issue with the imposed 10% service charge. I too prefer to contribute this independently when I see fit, but this alone will not inhibit further visits.

Sushi is ok. The lady in her 50’s who I think is the owner claimed she does not get paid and all she receives from the owner in salary is the service charge. I asked for it to be taken off the bill and was told the owner will be angry with her and not pay her. It can not be removed from bill apparently as that is what covers staff costs and napkins 🤷‍♂️. Will report as illegal business practices going on according to staff.
