Had a late breakfast here and it was outstanding. Very generous full English and eggs Benedict. The homemade beans and hash browns elevated the meal. The wait staff were lovely and very polite. The decor was pretty. I would definitely recommend.

We had amazing rump steaks here. Perfectly cooked, juicy, flavoursome. Generous sides. £27. Nice family bistro vibe. Staff were very kind. Would definitely go back!

Fantastic little place, we had a table for 9 to celebrate a birthday. The food was fab: mixed roast, roast beef and fish dishes plus prawn starters, olives, terrine, vegan mushroom Wellington all delicious. Lovely atmosphere and great service by Niamh and Emily. Plus it's dog friendly too. All in all would recommend for food, wine, and cocktails. Thank you Jamie and team :)

We took our chances with this place and ignored all the reviews about the unfriendly service, thinking it probably won't be that bad...but unfortunately it really is that bad. It seems like this one server is going out of her way to have an attitude towards customers for no reason and it really made us feel horrible. I honestly think it's actually the most randomly rude service I have ever had a restaurant. I don't understand how she still continues to have a job when she clearly is contuining to do this to everybody. It ruined not only our meal but our entire day as someone this unpleasant to you for no reason really leaves an impression. I would never ever come back here or recommend it, and would definitely advise to others to chose one of the many other places in town. I hope management starts taking this feedback seriously because this girl is clearly a problem for their business.

Food was great, we were a big group of 15 with kids and they were very accompanying. Had a combination of lunch and brunch food options, all were fantastic. Service was quick for group size and overall good atmosphere

So glad we booked for Saturday dinner many people were turned away. We had the steak and duck cottage pie with harissa carrots and were delicious!!

It has a specials menu so you don't have to be restricted to the brunch.

Super Sunday roast, lashings of gravy and very generous portions with lovely big yorkie. Highly recommended

I had a really fabulous lunch at No.1 Whistable. The menu had a good choice and wasn't huge and complicated, and they served all day brunch, which is great. There is also a reasonable drinks list and some great cocktails to choose from. My food was delicious, including a wonderful starter of burrata and an excellent main of whole seabream (I think it was seabream). The sides were very tasty, and I think I over indulged, but it was all so good. Fondant potatoes are a must. Must say congrats to the chef too as, she was on her own in the kitchen, it was a hot day and she didn't stop, yet turned out top quality plates of food without delay or cutting corners. Staff were really nice and lovely to talk to, giving a really friendly atmosphere, especially as I was on my own. I can't wait to go back for the Sunday roast next.!!

We had dinner on Saturday. Not very friendly or warm contact. Food was not very tasty. The bread tasted a very little bit like it was burnt. The sauce of the skate fish was not tasty, the carrots looked very good but it was dissapointing, they were as hard as an oyster shell. So overall not a great experience for this price.

The sauce with the skate wing had a strange taste, but the fish itself was good. Carrot sidedish tasted good, but was very hard, glad i have strong teeth. Staff was not superfriendly, but had the feeling we were just a number for them.

There were 5 of us for dinner this evening and we had booked in advance. We were seated next to the door and it was absolutely freezing so we asked if we could be moved but were told there were no other tables. If it hadn't been for having to pay a cancellation fee we would have left. We ordered various small plates one of which was scallops charged at £16. Two scallops arrived - so £8 each. They certainly weren't value for money and I would have expected it to be made clear on the menu that was what would be served up. I complained to the manager who was quite frankly completely unapologetic and arrogant. Most of the remaining dishes were great (although chips were on a par with McDonalds) moral of the story don't order the most expensive and least filling dish on the menu - the scallops. A complete rip off. Ruby the waitress was lovely. Edited to answer your response. I can assure you that the two scallops I was served were not large. There was no side salad or anything to accompany the scallops other than a bowl of pebbles and a tomato sauce. All five of us were shocked at what was presented. If scallops cost £50 a kilo then you're making a massive profit serving 1 at £8. Given that I raised the issue with both the waitress and yourself (I assume it was you I spoke to) at no point did you either offer me anything else or offer a reduction in the bill. I stand by my comment and can assure you I have absolutely no intention of returning to your restaurant again. Whilst I appreciate you are a business, I do expect value for money and a less arrogant response to my complaint.

Great find, the food was so good

Went for Mother's Day and had a lovely roast. Food was all delicious, made from good quality ingredients and cooked perfectly. My only criticism of the food was that the grave was a bit too salty. In terms of service, it was quick once we ordered, but staff were visibly stressed and rushed off their feet, they could do with one extra staff on such a busy Sunday. This has impacted on the overall atmosphere. Overall, pleasant experience, would go again maybe on a quieter day.

The service was disappointing as the young girl was unpleasant and unfriendly. The tables were also dirty and sticky. However, the food was freshly prepared and absolutely delicious and the coffee tasted good.

Easily accommodated our group of 12 for a brunch booking. There’s a huge variety of dishes on the brunch menu so lots of options to choose from. Food was delicious and service was good. Also reasonably priced.

Lovely place, great service. Partner had the vegetarian breakfast which was amazing, lots of food and great quality. I chose eggs florentine which was lovely but small. Wish I had gone with my instincts and ordered the big breakfast…maybe next time :)

Amazing food, lovely staff and chef. I had the venison for starter and pheasant for main. My partner the hake Kiev. All was 10/10, we also had a side of potato croquettes, which tbh was 1 of the best form of potato I’ve eaten. They had made fresh cakes that day, I had the chocolate and pistachio for dessert. Also top notch. How we were the only table in there is beyond me. If I was a local, 100% I would be a regular.

We had a great meal at this lovely little bistro. They are dog and child friendly and the food was brilliant, particularly the duck cottage pie, it was delicious. It was really nicely decorated for Xmas when we were there. Friendly chef who you could see cooking from your table.

Had the absolute pleasure of lunching at No1 today with my wife. The menu is really original and delivers a unique concept. Met the owner who was delightful and we thought the whole experience was refreshing and we will definitely be returning.

Unfortunately, due to the two young women working there on the morning of my visit, the atmosphere and lack of welcome, made my visit quite unpleasant. There was no greeting smile or hello from either member of staff when my party of five arrived. We waited for a couple to vacate a table and then two tables were pushed together to accommodate us. There was no wiping of the tables, despite blobs of brown sauce on the table. But they should have been wiped as a matter of course. Our orders were taken without eye contact or a smile. The food was bought to us without eye contact or a smile, and there was no return visit to check that all was okay. We sat in the first part of the restaurant where the kitchen is situated and found the smell of the cooking quite overwhelming. People who came in after us, asked to be seated in the other half of the restaurant, away from the kitchen because it gets a bit ‘chokey’. It is an open kitchen and therefore I appreciate there will be cooking smells emanating. However it seemed there was no extractor fan in operation, which would have helped. The food was fine but the experience completely let down by the service and the atmosphere. I think the management/owners really need to take their staff along to Fable & Green to see how good customer service can work.

Went here for brunch, lovely festive feel and friendly staff. I ordered a bacon and egg sandwich and my wife and egg sandwich and a pot of tea for two, the tea was tasty and the pot large enough for four cups.all good so far and then my bacon and egg sandwich arrived, served with two slices of large bread, inside the bacon was a cremated mass and the two fried eggs overcooked.such a shame for such a simple meal. Now, we will go back there again as I am treating this as a one off and they will do better next time.

This is my favourite haunt, for a coffee and a bacon (bacon extra done) sandwich, when I'm out on my own in the week. I have eaten here several times now, Inc most of the breakfast menu, full breakfast is a nice treat. Staff are friendly and the quality of food is very good 👍🏽

Even on a Thursday morning the cafe was busy. Gorgeous veggie breakfast with ample portions of smashed avocado, eggs and halloumi. Loved the home made beans! Will definitely return.

Brilliant....staff were fantastic and very helpful. Food was great and prices reasonable.

Absolutely fantastic food all round, the veggie full English was the standout (That Halloumi!). Coffee was excellent too, one of the best I've had on the high street.

One of my favourites as a Whitstable local. This restaurant is run by a local family who totally understand the importance of quality food at a great location with great company. Breakfast menu is fab and they cater for children too which is always a bonus.

Nice waiting team, but the food and drink were very disappointing. Flat white was very weak and milky, I was served brown avocado that had clearly gone off and the poached egg was undercooked and gelatinous. Charged premium price for a very sub par product. Not a good brunch

Delicious food, it would seem that the quality of food is very consistent here. This is my third visit and the food was absolutely delicious AGAIN! Waiting staff are always polite and very helpful if a little stand off’ish but truly I don’t appreciate being rushed so it’s a five star rating from us :)

Nice atmosphere. Hake and fennel were tasty, but the sauce was a bit spicy and not to my taste. Side dish (I had potatoes) necessary to fill you up. In total it was 32 pounds with a drink for one dish, but seems to be a normal price range for the area.

Came on a Friday evening with extended family in August and absolutely loved the food. Good portion sizes and so tasty. All highlights. Dog friendly too!

Service without a smile... We enjoyed a lovely meal with brilliant food and wine. Beautiful oysters from Essex, gorgeous arancini from Italy, wines from France and Argentina. However it would be really nice if the excellent service came with a pleasing smile. Not too much to ask for the young members of staff to be happy in their work. 🤗

Lovely restaurant with incredible food. Really nice atmosphere. The staff were great - not intrusive but there when we needed them and really friendly. I highly recommend the crab tacos! Delicious! And the chocolate torte! Not too expensive.

Cake and coffee, It was nice and homemade, but a little dry and frosting was very warm, a little off putting to be fair.

Genuinely had one of the BEST meals I've ever eaten here and I eat out A LOT. Had the lamb, was divine. Couldn't recommend more. Must visit if you're in the area, would return to Whitstable solely for this restaurant.

Popped in for a quick lunch without reading any reviews so wasn't sure what to expect. The eggs Benedict were fantastic - a slightly different take with rosti. The avocado on toast with poached eggs was really good too. All the ingredients were really fresh and tasty. Service was good and fast

Well-cooked meal with flair. All of the ingredients are “made from scratch”, nothing from cans or processed food, and you can truly taste the difference. Great start to our trip to Whitstable.

Lovely small restaurant towards the harbour end of Whitstable. Mixture of small and large plates, we had 2 small and a side dish for lunch. Beef tacos delicious, could have eaten more than 2! Mussels were a good size and accompanying foccacia very tasty. Quick and attentive service. Oh, and dog friendly too!

Lovely little restaurant that is dog friendly. Had breakfast here twice during our stay in Whitstable. Great full English and sausage sandwiches. Lovely granary toast with butter and jam! Good tea too!! Will definitely return and maybe next time check out the evening menu.

Great high street cafe with exceptional food and cake.

So I popped into this lovely little restaurant on a Friday evening,it happened to be steak night,advertised as a special,and it was definitely more than special...the food was absolutely amazing,so fresh cooked to my own preferences,sauces were to die for,would highly recommend this place and I shall be returning very soon!!

The food is not fresh, and generally isn’t great. Service is friendly but slow, our chips took over 45 minutes to arrive. Atmosphere is nice enough, but overall wouldn’t bother going here.

A weird evening! Food is some of the best we have had in whitstable. Shared 5 small plates between 2 of us. Lovely tacos and kebabs and the clam sauce is amazing! However, the two front of house staff seemed to not really know what they were doing except chatting and moaning about the kitchen staff. One of the cooks kept coming out and chatting to them over the counter quite loudly. Towards the end of our meal( still eating but it was only about 9pm) they started clearing all the tables and washing with bleach. It stank. I’d say it’s usually a case of bad food and great service but this was the total opposite. Highly recommend the small plates but not the actual restaurant. Could be so good.

Amazing little restaurant with superb home cooked food that will please everyone. Breakfast available for most of the day with brilliant small platters and meals all home cooked. everything that we have tried has just the right amount of flavour with perfect balance. Went twice for breakfast/brunch. Great playlist, tasty food. A really good selection of kids food and three high chairs available. Staff are really friendly and helpful and prices are okay too.

The Full English Breakfast was honestly one of the best I’ve ever had!!..fantastic homemade baked beans, great hash-brown-cake-thing, quality bacon and sausage,…10/10!

Good ok, took some time and brought the started after the main. The girl serving and taking the orders had the worst attitude and willingness to serve. Honestly would never come back to this place.

We visited for the first time today. Friendly welcoming staff, great cosy atmosphere, and the food was amazing, plus reasonably priced.

Visited for Saturday night dinner. We had starters and mains which were all absolulety superb. The chefs clearly know what they are doing and how to prepare an excellent meal. Will definitely go back. Constructive comment would be that there was only 1 choice of dessert and a range of cakes. I am sure the cakes would be superb, but for us, too heavy after dinner. A choice of 3 desserts would make it perfect. Having said that, this is an excellent place if you like great food.

Went for a late lunch and shared moules (which came with home-made focaccia), prawns, crab tacos, potato cake and fries. Everything arrived really quickly, was beautifully presented, tasted amazing and was cooked perfectly. The chefs were efficient and calm and the service was good. Really enjoyed our visit and the cost was very reasonable. In addition to the above we had 2 large wines, 2 soft drinks, 2 coffees and a piece of cake - which all came in under £70. Would definitely recommend and wish we lived closer so that we could visit more often.

Had a lovely lunch with my wife who had mushrooms on toast which was a nice selection of various mushrooms nicely flavoured. I went for a traditional bacon and sausage sandwich which was made with generous portions of high quality ingredients. Will definitely be back.

Visited for brunch last Sunday. Very busy but we were lucky with our timing. Food and service were absolutely fantastic. Not the cheapest cafe in Whitstable but the quality was great. I would thoroughly recommend it and will visit again on our next trip down.
