Such a unique experince. How wonderful to experience authentic, delicious dishes, created in a spotless kitchen, by a passion chef. The mutton curry was particularly good. Very reasonable prices, would highly recommend.

Overpriced drinks. One pint of (flat) Poretti and a 330ml can of beer came to £11. We felt ripped off so didn't stay for another.

First visit for food. Great chef, food was banging and customer service was awesome. Loved it.

Visited the rum rooms Doncaster for bottomless brunch for a birthday get together.The Caribbean food was amazing, I had the chicken roulade and broccoli tempura, it tasted delicious.The staff were also so lovely and friendly ,couldn’t do enough for us , constantly topping our drinks up , definitely will be returning. We called into Doncaster on an appointment and wanted somewhere to eat, different to our usual haunt, the Wool market. I visited this place about 8 years ago and loved the rums and was shown round the small restaurant by the owner and always wanted to go back so took a chance and called in. The place is a lot bigger now and just as quirky. My wife is quite fussy but she loved it immediately. We got a rum cocktail and a pint and sat down to look at the menu for the small plates (think Caribbean tapas) and ended up staying 2 hours….. The food is fantastic. Absolutely brilliant, the cocktails are cool and the beer cold. It’s a little bit of Negril in Donny. Please do use this place and have the small plates as according to the owner he may take them off as people aren’t using it, and that would be a massive shame.

The food was exquisite, and the atmosphere was lovely. I will definitely be back. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a delightful dining experience!

We attended yesterday for a wedding and WOW the food was amazing! The Jerk chicken was to die for- so much flavour and one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life! The curried mutton was beautiful and melted in the mouth. Both chefs were so friendly and a pleasure to chat with. We will definitely be coming back!

Fantastic night at The Rum Rooms full of exceptionally good little plates of Caribbean aceness - and great service! Stand out dish was the curried mutton, but I’d happily go through the whole menu (in fact, I probably will 😁). This is easily one of the best places in Doncaster for food. Lovely evening at the rum rooms. Barman and chef so welcoming and friendly! Food was gorgeous and cocktails so tasty. Was visiting from wales, would definitely return.

We went to bottomless brunch here and it wasn't good. We were sat freezing outside. I'd ordered wings and sweet potato fries. The wings came half an hour before the fries. No sauces or chance to ask. There were 3 cocktails I believe, all premade. No toilet roll in the loos (at 5pm). I wouldn't recommend that particular activity here.

Attended reggae bottomless brunch and it was bloody lovely. Fantastic choice of drinks, food was unreal and our server Daisy was quick, polite and an overall a ray of sunshine. Best bar in Doncaster :)

Simply the best bar in Doncaster, connected to 2 other venues so you can have a bar crawl without traveling down horrid silver street. Friendly staff and great variety of beers and food. 10/10 would recommend ☺️

Came for a bottomless brunch birthday do … freezing cold area … drinks obs no alcohol in or very little most people’s food tasted ok but rice and chips which were to accompany people’s meals came at separate times food went cold quickly small portions … would never recommend this place to anyone … very very very disappointed the one positive was the woman serving the drinks was nice and smiley !!

18 of us dined. We should have had 2 dishes each. My ribs didn't arrive. The chef insisted that he had sent out the right amount so someone must have eaten them. I said I'd settle for whatever was left over. However there was no spare dish at the end. The other 17 had 2 dishes and I had 1. Not happy. Bar staff weren't bothered.

I booked for a Saturday night at 7.30. It was very confusing, there was hardly any customers and the staff didn't seem to know what was going on. On the menu it said to order at the bar with your table number, but I couldn't find a table number. When I asked someone what I should do, they said someone will come and take the order. Waited 10 minutes for that same person to take our order, even though there were no customers, only us, because the other couple had walked out. We then sat till gone 8pm and still no drinks appeared, so we left and had a fantastic meal somewhere else. A very confusing experience 😕

Visited here last Saturday for dinner with my wife and friends. The atmosphere was great, the service exceptional and the food was amazing, especially the mutton curry!

We came here for Tapas and wasn’t disappointed. The Salmon is the best fish on the menu and this is coming from someone who doesn’t even like Salmon. Flavours were amazing! Fantastic ! Will be back! 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Went in for cocktails and they didn't have the ingredients for the first two cocktails that I choose and to be honest there are not that many choices on the menu to start from. Venue is quite nice with decent outside area, although only one heater on outside.

Had cocktails in summer and they were tasty. So expensive though

We've always come here for drinks but we decided to try their restaurant. I'm so glad we did, both chefs were amazing. We had a large selection of the small plates and all I have to say is we will be back. The food was so tasty, thanks again for a lovely evening.

Well, wow!!! What can I say except, I genuinely think this could be one of Doncasters best restaurants full stop! The flavours and quality were next level. Can't wait to come back to try more.

We'd taken our Aussie mate here about 5 years ago, so when he visited again we thought we'd take him again for the new menu - Caribbean tapas. As there was three of us, we ended up with three dishes each and shared. All the dishes were fabulous. Loads of flavour, good level of spice and beautifully presented. Some of the photos may be a little dark, but just try it and order one of each, you won't be disappointed.

Booked a table for 8 people for sunday 17th September at 4pm to celebrate friends 50th birthday and 29th wedding anniversary. We booked table for4pm and arrived at 3:45pm to what was a closed kitxhen/restaurant!! I showed the email booking reservation and they offered to cook for us but we felt realky put out as they were clearly closed, cleared away and not expecting us at all! This totalky ruined our celebrations and we left very deflated after looking forward to our meal.

A group of ten friends visited No 7 at Rum Rooms last night for one of the group’s birthday. We had to pre-order our food but that meant we didn’t wait long for the tapas style dishes to start coming out. Everything was freshly cooked - I had the chicken curry, salmon and coconut rice - and it was all delicious with so much flavour. Sorry no photos as we were busy eating, drinking and chatting. We had a drink in the bar downstairs before and after our meal. It was all excellent value for money and the service was fab considering we were a noisy group!! Thank you 😊

Visited as a group of 4 in August. Enjoyed 2 for 1 cocktails and about 20 tapas dishes between us! Food was fantastic. You could see them cooking the food to order and it was brilliant. Thoroughly recommended!

Well at the back of the Masons you entered a courtyard serving both places. DJ playing and great food being served. Curried mutton is yum. Bring your real ale and let Madge eat West Indian. Great fusion.

Visited here for Bottomless Brunch as a group of family and friends. Our table was ready for us as soon as we arrived. The food was absolutely amazing, fresh and very tasty (as always). The drinks were really good too with a big choice on both food and drinks. The service and attention to detail was outstanding. The presentation of the food again amazing. The barman was very friendly and polite. It cost no more than a chain pub brunch but this was by far superior. We were looked after so well. Our glasses were refilled quickly when we wanted another drink and we could choose a different drink if we wanted. Once again The Rum Rooms delivered excellence. It’s one of Doncaster’s hidden gems but well worth a visit.

It’s been a few years since we ate at No7 and it’s definitely changed. The food is exceptional but now it’s served as a small plates menu, Jamaican Tapas?! Absolutely brilliant idea so that you can pick and mix the amazing variety of dishes that Ian and his team produce. Incredible value, 12 plates and a bottle of wine for £85…with brilliant service and banter from Ian. We will be back soon…

We visited tonight for a dinner date, easily the best food in town. There are a lot of places serving "Italian", "mexican" etc in Doncaster, and the food is not authentic, and in may cases it's just bad. This is not just authentic Caribbean, it is also very good. 2 for 1 cocktails was a nice surprise too.

Pour a great pint. One of the only places that does red stripe on tap in the area. Good atmosphere too on a weekend.

Just had my sisters 40th in upstairs space food was really tasty especially the ribs and steak. Loved it. Great service

I was looking for a short notice hen do locally in Doncaster and was looking for something different rather than just drinks and dinner. We noticed that the run rooms do cocktail classes (only daytime at weekends). We thought it was a great idea and for £20pp was affordable for all. There was 11 of us and we were asked to arrive to start at 12noon, being advised that the class was around 90mins. Well we were all totally blown away - we tried different cocktails, tasted lots of different rums, were able to make our own cocktail from the menu, then we split into teams to compete and make our own cocktail from scratch. I was very impressed - both with the value for money, but also with how kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable Chris and Finn were. They explained everything, made us feel super comfortable and also helped us out. It was a great afternoon, finished off by us all staying for lunch. Food was great, cooked fresh and presented well. I couldn’t ask for more. I’ve been back since and can’t fault anything. I just wish it had more prominence in the town centre - a great bar and restaurant.

We rang for a table the night before and was helpful told by the lady on the other end of the phone that the menu and setup of the restaurant had changed from previously, and that the food would be a taste fusion of small plates relating to 'earth', 'land' and 'sea'. We loved the restaurant food previously, but we were really intrigued and liked the sound of the new menu. Once we arrived we were allowed to pick our own seats (we booked an earlier table). We were told that this was the first night since having a new menu and setup and I quite liked the idea of being one of the first people to sample the new menu! Drinks orders were taken promptly and we had a chance to look at the menu properly. The food was a fusion of all sorts of wonderful inspirations, mainly Jamaican but with a really interesting spin on different types of meats and cuisines. We ordered 12 different small plates from the menu. We were informed that some of the staff were off sick and the chef was working alone, so knew there might be a little wait (along with it being the first day of the new restaurant setup!) We were happy to wait a little and enjoy our drinks. We were served our dishes, and I cannot explain how good some of the taste combinations were! The chef obviously knows which ingredients work well together, I think in one dish there were about 10 different ingredients I tasted which I would never have thought worked well together- but I was in heaven! The only slightly negative we had is that we didn't realise they didn't take cash, that was mainly our fault though as we realised then from being in the rum rooms previously we'd always had to pay by card. It would have perhaps been helpful though to be have been informed of this on the phone or once you arrive at the restaurant in case you've never visited downstairs at the rum rooms before. The staff were more than helpful in accommodating us though, and as it was the first night we were told we'd be able to pay by cash but no change would be able to be given. We were more than happy with this and were pleased at how accommodating they made the experience for us. I have to especially mention the callaloo dish, the explosion of tastes in this dish was insane. A little bit spicy, but if you don't mind a little spice you have to try it. The teenage girls in our party particularly enjoyed the chicken wings, especially the marinade. The ribs went down a treat too. There were no desserts available at the time, but I'm sure some of these small teething problems that I've mentioned can be easily fixed. We will definitely be back again sooner rather than later, and look forward to trying some of the other dishes that we didn't get to try tonight. Bravo to the chef and the team for a succesful first night

Had a reservation for 8pm. Arrived to be sat down and told that most of the menu was unavailable. 3 mains were listed and 2 of the 3 were unavailable. We had to option but to leave to go else where

Generally a very poor experience. Limited availability from the small menu which did not reflect the website menu - halfway through the meal we were advised of even more unavailable ingredients. We experienced unprofessional service and unacceptable waiting time for food.

Came to rum rooms ... met Sophie straight away what a lovely host. So inviting and friendly made us very welcome. Massive Credit to her team we will definitely be visiting again and hope to see her and her team again. Muchos love Andy and...

Had a full refurb since last time I visited, which was a bit confusing at first, but a far bigger bar area with a fantastic range of drinks available, and great friendly service. Feels more spacious than before and loving the Estrella Galicia on draught too, love it when bars offer different draught variety from the norm. Will definitely be going back again.

Booked the cocktail class for a group of 13 for ‘hen do’. The cocktail making was hosted by Fin and Chris and was informative, fun and tasty!! Followed by a delicious lunch which catered for vegetarian and gluten free guests. Couldn’t recommend enough and will be back!!

We have been to the Rum Rooms many times now and it never disappoints. The service is excellent and the food is always 1st class. We love the mix of Jamaican spicing with classic cuisine. Honestly give it a try you will be back

The rum rooms was a wonderful night out the staff were polite and friendly, food amazing it was hard to choose what to pick it all sounded incredible. The owner was friendly and so enthusiastic about the food and drink it really shone through.

The food and cocktails here are very different to what you get in other restaurants. Everything tasted amazing, making me want to go back and try everything else on the menu. You can tell from speaking to everyone there that creating good food and drink is their passion.

Amazing food had a steak and a glass of wine or two. Great place to go as a couple or with friends would highly recommend the visit great night

This place is absolutely amazing..its a small restaurant with a creative rustic look which serves fusion foods. The staff (especially the owner Ian) went above and beyond to make our anniversary dinner extra special which we truly appreciated. The food looked and tasted wonderful (side note there is no salt or pepper on the table as the seasoning is just right)..we had the date night platter which had a mix of different dishes on the menu which didn't look a lot but was very fulling. I am pleased we found this place and will definitely be a regular visitor.

Went for my birthday on Tuesday 19th April. 11 of us went and all the food was fantastic. I certainly recommend giving it a try. Various people had all 3 corses and it was all presented very well and tasted even better. Thanks for a lovely evening

Great food, comfortable atmosphere, staff are friendly. Pigeon for starter was perfectly cooked and steak was cooked as desired.

My wife looked ravishing on this evening, but listen at me, I’m supposed to be reviewing the restaurant/bistro. It’s a small cozy space with fairy lights in the ceiling. I endorse that kind environment. The waiter was friendly and a right charmer. Great fella. He brought us some amazing food: Salmon on a bed of black rice with some ridiculously tasty prawn jus. It was the special on the night. My better half said it was the best meal she had ever had. I agreed. The starter and dessert was nothing short of perfection. The chef has got some talent. It was a magic night. We will be back.

From start to finish we had a fantastic night the food was outstanding. Cannot recommend this place enough, certainly going again.

Great staff and delicious food. I would say that we all had mostly excellent food. Just a couple we're a little off the mark. The aubergine dish being 1, it just needed something else. Having said that we would definitely eat here again. Great ambiance, wonderful venue. Very friendly.

I’d like to leave a tip- for the girl serving behind the bar yesterday with the pink tipped hair in a ponytail wearing the leopard print headband. It’s a real shame your attitude wasn’t as good as the choice of rums available. A smile wouldn’t have gone amiss either. 6 of us came here on Saturday tea time for some rums, it wasn’t overly busy and there were 3 staff serving. Sadly we got you- the one with zero patience or who was even going to offer any help with the choice of rums and complimenting mixers available to us. I was the girl who asked your advice on picking a “coconut flavoured rum” Perhaps we weren’t quick enough with our decision on what we actually wanted to order although it wasn’t like you had a queue of people to serve. Your abrupt snappy unfriendly attitude spoilt the experience for us. Shame really. Good choice of rums though.

Visited on 20/11/22. The best meal we have in Doncaster. Thai fish curry starter was beautiful as was the pigeon breast. Onglet steak was cooked to perfection, and pineapple desert was a Pina colada on a plate Topped off with excellent service from Ian who looked after us Definitely recommend.

Went last night to the Rum rooms bar. Totally ignorant and rude bar staff stood talking and laughing amongst themselves while the bar questioned was massive.myself and two friends stood at the front for over 10 minutes being ignored so walked out and went elsewhere,...

This was the first time at the rum rooms myself, and the second time for my partner after visiting with her mum. I kid you not, simply the best 10z steak I’ve ever had, ever corner of the plate added a special something to the dish and a phenomenal new flavour. My partners mushroom stroganoff was equally as unique and awesome, she tells me her favourite part was everything. The chef running the kitchen tonight simply knows food and what it takes to make amazing dishes, so thank you very much for an amazing experience with food. The owner was exceptionally welcoming, and an absolute delight to be waited on by, charismatic and full of charm, paying particular attention to how our evening was going. All round I’d recommend this as one of the best in Doncaster, and personally the best for me and my other half. Do yourself a favour and book in, limited space, so you know it’s good!

Our October visit was our second time at No. 7, it is by far the best restaurant in Doncaster. The food is beyond fantastic, the different flavours that are on your plate put a smile on your face. Ian is the most accommodating host, always makes time to chat and makes you feel extremely welcome.As soon as we’re allowed to go to restaurants again, this will be my first outing, especially for the sticky toffee pudding!!!!

We have eaten here on numerous occasions and is truly the best restaurant in Doncaster centre. Locally sourced produce, tasty food and drinks and great options whether you’re a carnivore or vegan. The service is always fab too. This place should be number 1 on trip advisor and is a real hidden gem!I would recommend the vegan gyoza, the tempura goats cheese, the tofu steaks and the mushroom stroganoff which is AMAZING.Beautifully cooked, gorgeously presented food with a local and international twist. I’m shocked at the top few restaurants showing in trip advisor for Doncaster at the moment. Really poor when you have this gem of a place just down the road.X
