The Hayfield Bar in Doncaster

Visited today as a family of eleven people, lots of free parking and wheelchair access. Our drinks orders were taken quickly and we were given free bread and dips whilst waiting for our mains which were delicious and the best bread I’d eaten for a while. The food arrived in a reasonable time(I worry if it comes out too quickly) and each dish was cooked extremely well and not one person had an issue with any of their meals. The portions were satisfying and they accommodated requests for alternatives with zero fuss. As it was a birthday they brought a cake out to a song with a sparkler which they didn’t need to do and was a lovely touch. The service was friendly without being overbearing and we didn’t feel rushed at all whilst eating. All in all a fantastic experience and I hope to eat here many times in the future.

Beautiful tasting food and generous portions and value for money

We booked for a Sunday afternoon and really enjoyed the food which is authentic Turkish grill. The four of us shared a mixed meat meal which was delicious and perfect in size. Service was a little confused as we'd not been there before and it wasn't made clear to us what the ordering arrangements were. We felt it would be better for an evening meal for the atmosphere and will try then next time. It's good to know there's a good quality option for Turkish cuisine locally.

Pleasantly surprised by this place ! We just dropped in on off chance ! We were received with a great smile and a very pleasant service! The food was really beautiful and nicely presented!! This 'SHOULD' be a great place to spend a sunny afternoon & in fairness back in the day it used to be, but alas, not anymore. I've never been made to feel less welcome at any venue ever. It's hard to say why without getting hammered, but those that know, know!!

Absolutely excellent. Food is fantastic, especially the lamb which was cooked and spiced perfectly. The service was also fantastic and all in a beautiful setting. Well worth the visit. Don't miss out on the baklava!

Found this little gem of a restaurant by accident after visiting The Yorkshire Wildlife Park. Excellent service and food. Highly recommend

Visiting after almost three or four years, the ownership has changed. There is now a predominantly Turkish menu that looks interesting, and I look forward to trying it out in the future. We had just stopped for a drink on this occasion. The locale continues to be wonderful, by the Hayfield fishing lakes, and the terrace is a great place to sit on a nice day, which it was, and have a beer. Friendly, polite service. Open from lunchtime to about 11pm. Ample parking.

Never open as advertised. Rude staff that close the pub at short notice. Earlier than advertised, despite there being a good few happy to spend their hard earned cash in the pub. Told they were open at 0800 for breakfast and they didn’t bother opening until the afternoon. Telephone number doesn’t work and they wouldn’t serve food in an evening. Terrible service from a pub that has, in the past, been first rate.

The Hayfield Bar team go above and beyond! My daughter has severe food allergies and they make everything from scratch completely separately to avoid cross contamination. The team who run the pub are amazing, made us feel like part of the family. So much so we go for Sunday dinner pretty much every week. ❤️

Can never seem to visit when serving food!! Always closed or private party only.

Place is lovely but don’t open like it says on the open hours seems to close when they want, which they should be telling people really , as I have been a few times and it’s shut what a shame.

We call in for a coffee after a walk with the dog, it's also dog friendly, there's a little room where you can sit with your dog inside, we also had a roast dinner which was lovely

Son had been last week and recommended it. Food was very tasty however they ran out of carrots and roast potatoes so we felt short changed. It was freezing cold and most people sat with their coats on. Waitress told us they had took over 2 weeks ago. chef was poorly. they were running out of food and had to turn walkins away. No one knew how to turn heating on. We had booked you would have thought they would have kept enough food for people who had booked. Dissapointing but due to service and staff been good we would give it another go in the future.

We usually come here on a Sunday for Carvery and a few drinks and it’s always good food but we decided to book our engagement party here on the 9th July and I can’t thank you enough I couldn’t of asked for better, they did a beautiful spread more than enough for 40 people hot and cold food, sadly I didn’t take any photos I was to busy having a good time and using my phone for the music but honestly 5 stars isn’t enough we all had a great night thanks guys. Incredible food matched only by the service! Our first time visiting but no doubt will become a regular. Even provided some BBQ sauce for our BBQ obsessed 11 year old (jury’s still out whether it should be a sin with a Sunday lunch!). The best pork we’ve all had in forever! Thanks to all

Lovely food, amazing scenery, live music. Fuming, I haven't found this place before. Very enjoyable last minute pick for a Sunday Carvery. Best decision I've made in a while and feels like a million miles away from home. You must visit here.

I’d just like to state what a fantastic Sunday lunch I’ve just had at the Hayfield Lodge when I was served at the carvery I was offered two meats out of the three that was on offer which was Beef Pork and baked ham I was told to help myself to all the rest on offer which I assure you I don’t need telling twice I loved the buttery smooth mash and crispy roasties and the veg was really beautiful and the stuffing balls are lovely not forgetting what amazing gravy you make . All in all the five of us had an amazing Sunday lunch thank you we will back as often as work allows. Ps I must admit to falling asleep on the settee when I got home lol lol 😴😴😴

We have had carverys here on numerous occassions and they were superb. On our last visit we found it was under new management. We stayed for our carvery but by heck, never will we frequent that place again for a carvery! The gammon was genuinely undercooked, the mash was out of a packet by the taste of it and the veg was quite chewy. Sad really as we love that place. Sorry hayfield lodge but you just scrape a single star from us.👎

Gave this 1 star as the can't leave zero stars. Beer was flat and cloudy, chips tasteless, panini uninspiring and onion rings too few to mention. Over priced and poor quality.

We booked 5 days on their caravan site looking forward to using the restaurant for meals but couldn't use it unless we went for breakfast. We were told when we booked our visit that they had a wedding on the Friday so wouldn't be able to use the restaurant then. Fair enough. But what they didn't say was they had it booked throughout our stay for different functions each night. Very disappointed. Will not be going back.

Very friendly staff, clean, well kept, very refreshing

We were stopping on site and looked forward to trying the facilities but there wasn’t space allocated for locals or those on site with functions booked each night. The menu looked good but we never got the opportunity to check the quality. Don’t intend on returning to this venue.

I went to day with my daughter and granddaughter and too dogs .We were made very welcome water for the dogs .we all had a good meal .Really enjoyed ourselves .Thank you

Very slow service, incorrect orders brought out and when the Food was served it was terrible. When we questioned the orders the 'chef' came out to the table and loudly/rudely told us we were obviously wrong about what we had ordered from the menu! When it was pointed out to him that the steaks we had ordered were not fit to feed the dog he replied " but you have to admit they are cooked ok..." Will definatley not be visiting this place again!

Lovely pub on the site of the fishing lake. Very friendly staff. We didn’t eat just had coffees and hot chocolate. The lady who served us immediately brought colouring over for our lite boy and gave him a kinder egg from Easter.

Excellent Food And Lovely Surroundings

Located next to the Hayfield lakes fishing area, this place does home cooked food and also drinks. Nice place to pop out for a lunch, or also a stop-off point on a dog walk (as we do)

Yesterday evening the guys at The Hayfield hosted our wedding reception. Relaxed atmosphere was appreciated by all our guests who cannot praise the venue enough. Beautiful surroundings, thoughtful staff who exceed expectations and venue equipped with all techy stuff required to pull off a great party. No photos just yet, sorry!
