We went for a Mother’s Day afternoon tea with both adults and children. The staff were really accommodating and friendly and despite the children being really picky and awkward the staff made sure we had everything we needed. Great price was the extra bonus and the room is lined with beautiful art work and antique items. In a really scenic spot so perfect to talk a walk around afterwards

We came here for afternoon tea with friends and it was lovely. The service was friendly and attentive, and the tearoom itself is lovely inside with lots of trinkets to look at. The food was delicious and portions were generous, and it was good value for money. I'd definitely visit again!

Great lunch with my mam & sister! We’ll looked after by friendly and caring staff. Food freshly prepared and well presented. No need to rush and cake to take home for later! That was delicious too! A lovely lunch and catch-up with family I don’t see very often. We all had a good time!

A hidden-away jewel of a tea room that offers a varied, reasonably priced menu and a cosy environment. Friendly and welcoming. Very good coffee and bacon sandwich. Lots to look at as there is a small antique shop adjoining. This will now be on our list of regular places to visit to have coffee / breakfast or lunch. Altogether lovely!

After coved 19 and frenzied eating of our once great nation makes dining out more complicated . Birthday treats for us truly silver service customers not wishing to have noise blasting out become harder to find. My lovely wife is easy to please but my first three known to us previously as safe choices are still not fully operational. Thanks thus to Tripadvisor and a few clues within reviews and pictures to find and try almost on our doorstep this interesting venue. Firstly, intelligent booking in, sanitary bit done shown to our table. Just the low hum of real people talking quietly enjoying the surroundings and eating. No music, bliss! Comparitivly simple menu. We chose tuna sandwich , nicely presented , and my house burger, as per picture on Tripadvisor. Perfection. Glass of fresh apple juice for the birthday girl ( lady actually) and superb cafeteria of coffee. Continuing activity of busy but well run restaurant and still without music. Well behaved family with two boys near by made pleasing comments on meals served to them . All their plates emptied as was ours. Limited choice of cakes but had we missed out on the Victoria sponge? Apparently so, but we plumped for the scones ,jam and cream. So pleased because these home made scones were something special. We have had some super scones over the years and these must be contenders for the best ever. Put this together with subtle intellligent service , extremely reasonable prices and you have a recipe for success.

Pleasantly surprised. It’s been a while since we visited this venue. Over the years it’s had a few owners and been good and bad. We really enjoyed no 54 the food for the price was amazing even though we sat outside in the rain we couldn’t complain. The cakes were also excellent. Can’t wait to pop back!

Two of us ate brunch on Sunday around 10.30am. Menu has plenty on it for all and it moderately priced. Both went for eggs Benedict with smoked salmon & swapped muffin for sourdough. Eggs were very fresh & bright orange yolk & salmon was decent. Fresh orange was from concentrate which was all that let it down. Annoying to pay the price for fresh orange only to find its cheap supermarket stuff. It’s a quirky environment with the random artwork/antiques. It’s a nice combination. They implemented Covid measures well. Will definitely return.

Came today with a friend to have breakfast. We opted for Eggs Benny and Eggs Royale. Both came beautifully presented freshly made and hot. In these current times where smaller places are struggling to keep afloat it's great to see places like this gem being visited and used with frequency. A good place to catch up with a friendly ambient feel.

I’m from the village and this pub has changed hands multiple times over the last 5 years or so. No one has made it work and it still isn’t working. Saturday before Christmas with a party of friends with children, the menu was down to pizza and burgers (could be understandable if preparing for Christmas Day). BUT they ran out certain gins, got to the last barrel of Maretti and the place looked a mess. The bar was lifeless and not well kept, it looks like a pub is ready to follow the pattern and soon close (time will tell). I really want this village pub to work but fear it never will. If you’re reading this to make a choice, go to Cromwells or elsewhere until it’s fixed !
