No 30 Coffee Lounge in County Durham

Waited 30 mins to get a drink and over an hour for our food to arrive. Overcooked dry salmon and watery pasta with pre cooked prawns on top. When questioned I was told they were short staffed and made excuses as to why the service was so terrible. To finish off an already terrible meal they served me a dry out of date pre made chocolate fudge cake. Overall our group of 8 were not impressed with the service or food of this restaurant and will not be returning.

We visit Number 30 regularly for dinner usually when the cafe becomes a restaurant and have always found everyone to be welcoming and keen to do their very best. The premises is contemporary and is kept spotless with a full bar available. We always enjoy the consistency of the menu and the wines are particularly good. The owner and staff really value their customers and this was particularly evident on New Years Eve where our small group enjoyed a really slow paced dinner that even included some tasty specials.

During the day, this is a delightful coffee shop with pastries, light breakfast items, and gelato. It has beautiful decor, welcoming staff, reasonable prices, and delicious gelato. Grab a seat outdoors to watch local traffic and enjoy your visit!

IMHO, this was the only decent restaurant in Brandon. It is clean, and well cared for. The food was excellent. On our first visit we had the salmon whicah came with green vegetables (tho you could have roasties if you wanted!) We decided to go for a second visit two days later; we fancied a steak, but the portion sizes were too big for each of us. so when we enquired they said they could get us two fillet steaks, each about 200grams. When we returned for our meal two days later, the fillet steaks were cooked to perfection with accompanying green vegetables (which I prefer to chips!!!). Nicola (Nicky) and the team looked after us brilliantly on both occasions, and I highly recommend this eatery, which is at the back of the No 30 Cafe. A really nice touch was the small shot of Limoncello on the house at the end of the meal. A real taste of Italy.

Italian restaurant in the evening. Excellent caring staff, nice atmosphere, lovely food... I had calamari, seafood risotto and tiramasu. Reasonably priced. Would definately go again.

Had dinner last night at Valentino's and not disappointed. Authentic italian food, so tasty and fresh. Gelato was delicious 😛

Cute coffee house in heart of Brandon. Loved the ambience of the place. Drinks were good and served quickly. We will be back.

Always go here when I go walking at Brandon. They do lots of snacks but the panini’s are so good I always have one of those. One of these days i’m going to ignore my diet and have one of their tasty looking homemade ice creams! The chairs are really comfortable, staff are friendly and service is great. Definitely the best cafe in town.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner , calamari with an interesting spicy dip followed by Milanese Chicken and a really good apple pie to finish. The Malbec was very good and we could not fault the welcome local addition for a local night out.

Absolutely amazing food! Starter, main and desert. Amazing atmosphere! Staff were brilliant! Can't wait to go again!

After a long walk here we stopped for a coffee and a sweet treat. The atmosphere is relaxed and luxurious, contemporary, industrial look interior. Very stylish and well done, but they didn't mind a couple of bedraggled walkers popping in. Range of seating to choose from, comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. You can see the quality as soon as you walk in. The coffee was strong and good, and the toasted croissant with biscoff was an indulgent sweet treat, but not expensive, standard coffee shop prices.

A very nice, different place to visit in Brandon. And in my opinion, very out of place with the rest of this nasty little town. The coffee is superb, however my colleague and I ordered a croissant, and a toasted tea cake. Here's where it all goes wrong. The both came completely FLAT! Who wants a flat croissant? And I mean as flat as a slice of bread! So to the owners, I suggest you invest in a small oven, and a grill. It is however quite overpriced for the location. I will return for coffee, but I won't be eating anything else again.

Love this this place… a really nice vibe with chill out music in the background. Tastefully decorated and comfortable seating. The owners are friendly and nothings too much trouble. We love the food which is fresh and prepared in house. The Greek orange cake and the apple cake are winners! We’ll be back.

We have moved to Lakenheath and visited a few days after we did and found this very welcoming place and have returned on different times and days always come away happy and will return to it again am sure . love the coffee and pastry etc well done team always a smiling welcome

A nice cafe we had a cheese on toast with salad and hot drinks. Very good service and nice food well prepared.

Had the best milkshake I've had in years. Gorgeous ice cream and the cake my husband and granddaughter had got a big thumbs up too. Very comfortable, decor is delightful and pleasant staff. Highly recommended 👌

Lovely ambiance, great coffee, paninis are exceptional, very friendly staff. When the sleet began to fall, they even let us bring our bikes inside (wasn't too busy at the time). Will definitely be visiting again.

It was pouring with rain outside, we aborted our walk and looked for somewhere to eat , get a coffee and shelter. We were drawn to the appearance of the cafe and the inside did not disappoint. Soft jazz played, the decor was smart it’s cosy tables and a fire inviting. We were welcomed with friendly smiles and tasty treats. Staff were as welcoming as the surroundings. The gelato milkshake was heavenly and the Greek baguettes melted in the mouth. Topped off with a perfetto coffee. We left feeling recharged and relaxed. Highly recommended by our trio of travellers.

I've been here a few times now and make sure to be a regular. Fabulous interior and very attentive, friendly customer service. Lovely calming music lightly in the background and fantastic food and drink. Recommend the brie, bacon and cranberry panini! All in all - wonderful

We have been to this cafe before last year and the food was great and the owner couldn't do enough, so imagine our shock when we were treated with such disdain on this visit. I went to the counter to place our order, there were two ladies behind the counter and both of them totally ignored me and after 10 minutes my husband decided he would have a word. He asked one of the ladies if there was anyone else serving and she curtly replied "no" and then continued to ignore him, so my husband then said "so basically you don.t give a damn" she then rudely replied "not really". Needless to say we all left and needless to say we will not be returning or recommending this cafe to anyone else.

From the minute we arrived we knew we were going to enjoy this stop off. There were lots of homemade cream and sorbets, a variety of cakes and a lovely choice of coffees. We loved the espresso, and felt it had a lovely flavour. The...

A really lovely coffee lounge. This is a really comfortable and welcoming lounge. The decor is excellent, as is the food and coffee. There is jazz playing gently in the background. This will be a regular stop for us from now on.
