First visit this morning to an incredibly popular venue for breakfast. What a find! The staff were so welcoming and friendly and service was quick, efficient and with beaming smiles. I had the bacon sandwich and they easily accommodated my friend with straight up poached eggs instead of eggs benedict. The eggs were cooked to absolute perfection and served hot, my bacon sandwich was with delicious aoli and rocket, both served with toasted sourdough that was crispy and light. Our lattes were hot, creamy and frothy with just enough bite of coffee beans to give them flavour . There were lots of baked {savoury and sweet) goodies on offer if you wanted a lighter option - various croissants, pastries and cakes which quickly sold out. Mark, the new owner, was keen to ensure we'd had an enjoyable time. The "home made" feel of the menu for which he is striving was certainly met. I highly recommend this gem of a local independent cafe, we can't wait to return.

Food was great, coffee was great. The problem was half way through eating a dog and owners came into the cafe & the dog had dried faeces hanging from its rear end. This area was moments earlier an area where children were able to play on the floor. The dog was sitting and standing and essentially touching its own pooh on the floor. Either make it child safe OR dog friendly. Can't have it both ways. The second half of the food did not taste the same once this rear view of the dog was obvious. Mmmm maybe a decision needs to be made & tbh there are many young parents and children in Easton over a dog or two.

It was great to return here after a few months away from Bristol. The coffee was still of a very high quality; the staff were still as helpful, friendly and funny as before; and the cake and food selections were still excellent. The ambience, as before, is laid-back Scandinavian, though alas the cafe cat isn't such a regular as before. It's also pretty good value for money compared to the coffee chains around and beyond Bristol. (The one downside, which is not the fault at all of No12 or the staff, are those customers who appear to have missed their lessons on being potty trained back in the day. C'mon, certain other customers; make some kind of effort to clean up after yourself before other customers use it...)

We fancied this place and went over to Easton. Peeped in the door but saw that every table had exactly one person with a laptop, tablet, or phone, and a coffee cup. Went somewhere else. They lost out on 2 lunch orders. Have seen other places with "No laptops" notices.

After a frustrating winter I finally returned to Bristol for a (too) short time, and headed to No12 (see previous review). The same friendly, funny and skilled staff were there, and the lattes they made me were as superb as before. And as before, it sometimes gets it to my table somehow before I've sat down, which is extremely welcome on caffeine-deficient mornings. There are now two chefs, but the standard of food that comes out of the kitchen remains consistently high - a short menu of various sandwiches and warmer meals on sourdough. I've tried them all, they are all good, and I've been educated a bit (I now know the fancypants name for garlic mayo). I also have several new tracks for my summer playlist from the insanely good one that oft plays in there. The cake selection - decent portions - remains distracting, and the ambience of the cafe is still Nordic: minimalist, white painted wood, and lots of daylight through big windows. This place feels like a kind of home, where I can decompress, eat and drink well, remember how to chill, and think and figure out things. I look forward to returning for (a lot) longer, next time, and hope to see Jasper again. Yes! All hail Jasper!

Found this place after eating at a few other nearby cafes (there are a lot in this part of Bristol) and this one was the best of them. The lattes were made really well; the cake selection is interesting. I had garlic mushrooms on sourdough for brunch one day, and a halloumi sandwich the next; both were excellent. The staff are friendly and witty; the cafe is bright, with lots of natural light, plus also tables outside and in a tiny enclosed outdoor space.

This was actually the most delicious meal out I've ever had. Really good gourmet level food at great value. Went with my family, we are a mix of vegan and meat eaters and all of us loved it. We tasted most of the tapas and they all had their own unique flavour. Felt very authentic Spanish too - which is pretty amazing considering how few Spanish tapas are vegan. And perfect puds too - all washed down with a good organic vegan wine. Atmosphere and the staff were really lovely. I will definitely recommend the Casa Verde experience and come back when next in Bristol. Thanks so much for all very a special night.

12 High Street, BS5 6DL, Bristol,  It's not often you stumble across an absolute 'gem' of a Cafe, but we did today. We had arranged to go out for lunch but hadn't made any plans about where, so I looked at a few options on line, checked a few web sites and came up with a few suggestions. We were a multicultural group, so our meal preference varied greatly so we had to find some where that would cater for all tastes. In the end we chose No12 Easton and what a great choice. Parking was a bit of a problem as the roads around Easton tend to be very narrow and full of parked cars. We made the mistake of coming down the High Street from Belle Vue Road which was a mistake as its particularly difficult to navigate and if you meet a car coming n the opposite direction, theres just nowhere to go. But we did find a parking space right opposite the Cafe. When we arrived it was completely full, every table was taken and we were forced to sit outside. It was a beautiful sunny day but very cold and in the shadows it was even chillier. We had a conversation with the guy at the counter and agreed to take our drinks outside and wait for a table to become available. The Coffee (Americano) was a bit too strong for me (I'm new to Coffee and as yet I cant drink too much of it )but I was afraid to dilute it with milk as the milk was cold and sitting outside, I feared it would get too cold, too quickly. The Tea was a better choice and came in a little tea strainer sat on top of the cup. However, it wasn't long before a table came available and we were all sat at a scrubbed pine table with a menu each. The options aren't extensive but anyone who has ever watched Gordon Ramsey tear apart a failing restauranteur will know, if you want to be successful you do the basics and you do them well and this placed does that perfectly. From its location I suspected this was going to lean toward a Veggie menu so I was pleased to see there was a Full breakfast (£8.95) on the menu plus a Bacon sandwich (£6.50) and what a great sandwich it looked. Though none of us chose it, we simply witnessed it being delivered to the table next to us. But Boy it looked good. Two of us went for the Veggie Breakfast.(£8.95). Halloumi, great as a meat substitute. Marinated portobello mushrooms (this is how mushrooms should taste, they were beautiful. There is no reason why other cafes should serve up a soggy black mess and call it mushrooms). Roasted vine tomatoes. These were amazing, they apparently roast them in Balsamic Vinegar and the taste is incredible. Fried egg on Sour Dough. I usually 'moan' about Sour Dough Toast but this was still soft and edible so I had no complaints, though the egg was a bit hard. I could have lived without the 'Greens' though I did eat all of them and I would have preferred Baked Bean, but hey! An interesting touch was the pot of home made Brown Sauce which tasted really good. For a Veggie breakfast it was very filling. Steve chose the home made soup of the day which was Roasted Butternut Squash with some serious Kicks added by the fresh red Chilli. (£4.95). Raf went for the Baked Aubergine with tomato, pepper, onion, new potato and yoghurt served with a slice of Sourdough bread. This was perhaps the smallest portion but it was still a good meal and very tasty.(£7.95). There was a children's menu and several small people were taking advantage of this. Service was good though you had to order at the counter but the staff were friendly and welcoming. Cutlery was clean, as was the whole place with free water available from a bottle on the counter. In fact this was just a really nice place to hang out and have brunch. It is clearly popular but being small its limited space may prove to be a problem though in the summer they will be able to use the small garden on the side. I enjoyed everything about this place, food, atmosphere and service though its not cheap and anyone on a budget might have to treat number 12 as a treat rather than a regular hang out. That said, us Pensioners will be back again soon.

I love Easton. It's an interesting, honest, vibrant and diverse part of town. Sadly, this place is the antithesis of all of those things. From the cringe-worthy pretentious café sign that proclaims "Coffee - PROVISIONS- Deli" to the banal, yuppie clientele dressed in vintage clothing displaying the obligatory lack of parental control over little Rupert. Don't get me wrong, I am sure Rupert is a sweetheart.Evidently this establishment appeals to those too who are happy to pay a premium to hibernate from the real Easton (their loss!) To those who huff and sigh if there isn't a heart shape on their almond milk foam and the ketchup doesn't come in a pseudo rustic ramekin. Rank.

Just had the best meal in ages, which is saying something in Bristol, which has so many restos. Num 12 has recently started offering evening meals, 4 choices each of starters and mains ( meat, veggie and fish), good short list of wines. Go on a Weds evening and you'll get a main and glass of wine for a tenner. So that's great value. Then consider what you actually get, which is a beautifully cooked and presented dish full of fresh and deep flavours. The kind of food that makes you feel very happy all over.

Love the decor and idea of this cafe- not too many cafes in Easton with selection of teas, delicious Portuguese egg custard delights, good music, cool decor and taking a pride in the food they source. However, it's been hit and miss, sometimes amazing sandwich with flavorsome relish this time was drowning in fat and mayonnaise. The tables were clean but there was scrambled egg strewn over the floor- unnoticed. It does get rather full with the single laptop worker who takes over a huge table whilst supping a tea. This seems financially ridiculous at lunchtime. A lot of cafes have signs saying if needs be they will have to move- we have been in with large parties ready to eat and all four tables have one person with a laptop and no food - the staff responded that there was nothing they could do but a polite notice would help this and there's a shelf seating that they could "work"` from. Would try this again but frustrating as all the potential there to be soo much better than it is.

The only drawback of this place is that it closes too early! It took us a while to try it: it was full, or we were late. But we finally went there and it was very good. Nice, welcoming staff, good quality dishes (from the veggies to the very meaty ones). Also, good quality, out of the usual soft drinks. Essential if you live in Easton, highly recommended if in Bristol!!

No 12 Easton is a great local cafe that sells tasty food and good coffee. Another added plus is that they allow you to bring your dog along which is fab for us! I am going back this weekend for lunch.

Really enjoyed a hangover curing breakfast here - Bacon and Maple Syrup Waffles were tasty and the Scrambled Eggs were perfect! The coffee was good too.Nice interior, quite different for Easton.. Toys and books for children, and some nice fresh flowers on the tables. We went on a Sunday lunch time and it was busy, so we had to wait a little while for our food (but not long enough to need to complain!). It's only a little place, so might not be everyone's cup of tea if you don't want to share a table. But if you don't mind a bit of human interaction, it's great. Definitely a community feel to it, and you can buy some nice jams and bits n bobs!

I imagine only a few years ago you'd be more likely to find a working men's caff in Easton than a trendy establishment like this - it advertises itself as not only a cafe, but a deli and 'provisions' merchant. Good tea, cheesecake and also good Bristol jame to take home, as in the accompanying photo.

Trendy cafe, coffees good. Cake and food is MASSIVELY overpriced. A slither of flapjack, the cheapest desert in the world to make, is £2.50!

Have loved coming to no. 12 for just over a year now and am never disappointed by the friendly atmosphere, delicious food and fantastic local produce. Last night, after meaning to go for ages, I finally got round to attending their famous burger friday night! It was packed with people and the atmosphere was great! We had got there a little early, so had no problem getting a table and the food came quickly even though it was filling up quickly. There are a huge variety of local beers (wiper and true, Moore just to name a few from their huge fridge) and were even brought a selection to have a look over. Okay so now the burger. Dear lord. Was this the best burger I've ever eaten? I think it could definitely be possible. All I know is that I will definitely be coming back for more, just to be sure...

I don't know what they do differently but their Cappuccino is heaven in a cup. We came across this delightfully little gem called No 12 in Easton Bristol almost by mistake. But how delighted we are that we found it. It is an immaculately up together little coffee shop cum lunch stop cum delicatessen cum delightful meeting place where one can watch the world go by over a cake or lunch or pop in for a quick takeaway on your way to somewhere. They serve a vast range of drinks and eats all freshly prepared and served with a smile by the delightful and pretty young ladies. Thank you No 12. We shall most certainly be back every time we come to Bristol or have an excuse to do so. We're going to have our lunch there on our next visit shortly. I can't wait ! Try it you'll love it. See you there. Colin & Ros Porter. Tetbury

Each time I visit Bristol I go to No.12 Easton. The cakes are great! Three cheers for their 'Rocky Road and 'Chocolate Brownies'. The hot chocolate is delicious and much better quality than the high street coffee chains! I haven't tried any items from their menu, but I have been told (on very good authority) that their meals are good too.Service is friendly, from Chris (the owner) to his staff. No.12 has certainly brightened up a corner of Bristol!

No.12 is an awesome café/deli. My husband and I were staying in the neighbourhood for one week and went here everyday for a delicious Americano. The best coffee I've ever had!! We even bought a bag of the Extract coffee before we left. The food is delish, ambiance is very modern, simple and cool. Loved this place, and looked forward to going every day. keep up the great work guys!! From your Canadian (Toronto) friends. Go here!

No.12 is still an underrated gem outside of Easton - the deli selection is impressive, with a good range of local meats, cheeses, beers and other interesting produce. There is also a small menu which manages to pack in a lot of flavours and some of the high quality products they stock; I've heard some great things about their burger nights and bacon sandwiches in particular. The staff are also lovely - it's definitely worth the trip to Easton!

Eaten lunch here twice with my girlfriend and each time has amazing. The best chicken sandwich Ive had and the best chicken salad Ive had. Menu also changes each time we go in. All local, fresh and full of flavour. Simple but effective. There is a great little sun trap outside area too. GO GO GO

We chanced upon this cafe on our recent visit to Bristol and enjoyed a memorable lunch.Very much health oriented and everything was freshly made on the premises. The sandwiches priced at £4.95 (sourdough bread) are tasty to the last morsel and very well presented. Our group had the vegetable/houlumi and chicken/rocket/aioli sandwiches - ample filling. My cheese and onion pie was served with salad and potatoes - very tasty. Try their mountain tea - a pot costs £2.75 and they are happy to refill with hot water. The home-baked pastries at £2.95 are to die for! The rhubarb and strawberry tart is made with wholemeal and the chocolate cake left a lasting impression.Good use has been made of the space and the furniture is simple and comfortable. The casual environment is friendly and the cafe was busy at the time of our visit. Babies and children are welcome and well catered for (toys and high chairs). The cafe is wheel chair friendly. Local produce (mustard, biscuits, fruit juices, sauces) are also on sale.We were most impressed with the friendly and efficient service. The cafe is open from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm every day.
