Booked for dinner here and unfortunately my choice of food was very overcooked. I mentioned this to the waiter and he said it was meant to be well cooked. It was a margarita pizza and I think I know how it should look. I ate a very small piece but it was too dry and tasteless for me. They did knock it off the bill and only asked then if I wanted something else. We were going out for the evening so I didn't have anything else. A real shame as good location and reasonably priced.

No. 1 Bar & Bistro review This restaurant is an addition to Queens Hotel and I didn’t think it would be fair to rate the hotel based on this restaurant regardless of it being a part of it. Entrance - Very easy to find, right in front of the coast. Very good location for tourists and an easy place to make a lot of money. Food - Very mediocre. We had breakfast there and it was not up to par. Cold. Basic. If you’re looking to book the breakfast in addition to staying at the hotel, I strongly recommend you go elsewhere if you’re looking to enjoy it. Drinks - Breakfast drinks were horrific. Way too sweet. I had to ask for a separate drink at the bar because of this and a small glass of coke with lemon cost me £3! Decor - It looked like a 1997 football club. Very outdated and not the most inviting. Cleanliness - Very clean and there was a waitress cleaning on the go which was good. Cost - For where it’s located, I get why the pricing would be fairly high but it’s defo overpriced for what it is. I guess the bills need to get paid somehow. Customer service - Great. All staff were nice and friendly! Overall - Mediocre to say the least. The restaurant was not busy at all and it’s clear as day as to why. Lower your prices, revamp the restaurant and play some music. Bring some life into the place it’s an absolute ghost town. The location is amazing, you could do so much more with it honestly. I would not return to this place, but I am rating it a 2* due to the staff being good! Thank you!

Weird experience! My daughter booked the venue for nine. When we arrived our booking appeared to come as a surprise! Service is a tad snail like My strongly requested very rare steak was medium sent back and replaced with one that was medium rare in places and medium in others absolutely NOT very rare. The bill caused staff incredible problems as they struggled with the concept that we might like to pay for each persons bill separately.

We were booked in as a large hen group for an afternoon tea following spa treatments at the Queen's Hotel and Craig and the Team at No.1 Bar & Bistro could not have been more helpful and attentive! The small option afternoon tea itself is great value at just under £4 for a scone (with cream/jam) with a tea or coffee and the attention to detail was brilliant, as our dietary/special requests came out with clear individual labels including gluten free scones and plain scones for the bride to be! If you are organising a bite to eat following spa treatments at the hotel, the team here won't let you down and we would recommend- thanks for a lovely afternoon tea!

We stumbled across this very nice bistro whilst looking for something offering more than the usual seaside fare. First impressions were excellent with many appealing dishes from which to choose, a relaxed atmosphere and welcoming staff. Not wishing to miss out on this exciting find, we hurriedly reserved a table for two overlooking the sea view. In the event we needn't have been so hasty as we turned out to be the sole diners that evening!Nevertheless, the waiter was attentive and helpful - assisting in our choice of meals. Two delicious Norwegian Prawn starters were enjoyed before the main courses of Beef Bourguignon (mine - very tasty) and the Daily Special of Chicken Madras which my partner had much pleasure in declaring as 'the best curry she'd ever had' - some compliment! All washed down with a bottle of Chilean Merlot - splendid! It would've been rude not to have sampled the cheesecake (it didn't disappoint!) or the Jack Daniels liqueur coffees.A thoroughly enjoyable experience, great food in relaxed surroundings. We couldn't have chosen better to kick the weekend off. Don't hesitate!

We were in Brighton for one night and went looking for somewhere to eat in the town. After wandering around for about 45 mins, we found this restaurant quite close to where we had started out from!It was a saturday night and seemed quite quiet as it was just out of the town centre so seemed ideal for an evening meal away from the saturday night hen party crowd. As we entered, we were warmly greeted by the bar and restaurant staff. We were shown to a table on the edge of the seating area, were shown the menus and told about specials. Now at this point, I have to say that Craig Royale, You made our evening! Not only did he know the menu and his job inside out, he made us feel like regulars that he had known for years. The food was cooked to perfection, the wine (and I'm usually wary of Spanish red...) was as good as they had recommended and the staff went above and beyond to make not just us, but everyone who was there feel as if we were at home (even to the point of trying to do the menu in french to the french couple behind us...).If you are looking for a good menu with a lot of variety and don't want Italian (theres loads of them in Brighton for some reason), Give this place a try.We will definitely be going back whenever we go to Brighton :)

A wobbly table was fixed, Spanish wine was tasted and the menu choice was good. The starters were surprisingly large, feta cheese salad and chicken parfait are both highly recommended and mains of steak and lamb shank did not disappoint. Easy and friendly conversation with the staff throughout the evening and thoroughly relaxed atmosphere made this a perfect evening.

As we were staying at the Hotel, we used this Restaurant on our first night, tired after walking around all day. Although the 2 for £7 offer on cocktails was not actually running at the time, the bartender offered us this anyway, which I thought was a kind gesture. My son and I ordered the Chilli Con Carne, and I cannot say how happy I was with what I had on my plate. Normally chilli is just a bit of savoury mince, this was totally different, nicely spiced, chunks of pepper and a nice sixed portion.Unfortunately my wife did not fare as well, she ordered a vegetable ratatouille, with a rosti topping, but what she got was vegetables and mashed potato, although there was an apology, I thought more could have been done (chips were offered, but that was not what we wanted). The dessert was nice, if a little strange, I had an orange cheesecake, with a mango sauce, a big bunch of nice fresh mint, and a strawberry. Ok in parts, but together just a little too different. After a day out walking, we had purchased a couple of bottles of wine for the evening, and the bar gladly gave us a couple of wine glasses and a bucket of ice, a nice touch. All in all the food was OK, but nothing to rave about, there are a great many other places, most within an easy walk that do better food, at better value.

We stumbled across this restaurant within the Queens hotel quite by accident just over two years. Although quiet the restaurant offers a traditional dinning service with a limited but well chosen number of choices for a starter, main course and dinner {or lunch}. Service is efficient and friendly with attention to detail. The meals on offer have always been cooked to perfection. A wide selection of wines is available together with spirits and beers or lagers.Once you have finished your meal you can enjoy tea or coffee or move into the bar and enjoy a few drinks, cocktails are also offered. The bar and restaurant offers a sea view that is ideal for visitors and us locals. When we have family or friends visiting, we always take them to this restaurant for a special meal and without exception we have not been disappointed.During Christmas of 2011 we went along for a special Festive Birthday Dinner which was excellent and enjoyed by the group of ten guests alongside other traditional Christmas party goers. A disco was provided after the meal and all our guests thoroughly enjoyed their meal and a dance until quite late in the evening. The cost of a meal is probably at the medium price level. Not cheap but not overly expensive for a quality meal experience.KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.

White Horses is undeniably a beautiful restaurant with fabulous views of the sea, which initially raised our expectations. The atmosphere and location suggest it has so much potential, but unfortunately, the service didn’t match the setting. From the start, it was clear that table etiquette and basic service standards were lacking. Our mains took an excessively long time, with no updates on kitchen delays until we had to ask about it ourselves. Communication like this should be a given, especially for a restaurant of this caliber. When we accidentally broke a glass on the table, staff wiped it down but left shards behind—careless and unsafe. Requests we made when ordering weren’t followed through, and we had to remind them, which shouldn’t happen. After our cutlery was cleared, replacements weren’t provided, so we had to ask again once the food arrived. The waitress also struggled to remember who ordered what, adding to the disorganization. This place attracts a certain type of customer through its online marketing, but it desperately needs training to meet those expectations. White Horses could be exceptional with its stunning location and stylish decor, but without serious improvements to service, it falls short. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for attentive and professional service to match the setting.

We stumbled across this little beauty down one of the side streets and we were so glad we did! The atmosphere was amazing, the staff were very friendly and the food was amazing. Jazz music playing throughout with dim light atmosphere which was just up our street. The toilets were amazing, the mirror had different faces playing which added to the coolness of this place.
