Visited Belgian Chips in Brighton and felt very special as they gave me several of the coveted special green ones. Was so thrilled I even lined some of them up and took a photo.

The chips were delicious and we highly recommend vising the place. But the employee seems to be frustrated with his job and was not at all interested in his customers. A piece of advise: Ignore his attitude, order your chips and enjoy near the seaside.

Expensive and rubbish chips. Avoid!!!

The fries where good but you need to eat them quick or else they become very hard. The chicken strips we nice too but felt like they were bought pre-made. So whilst the saying the food was good, I wouldn't say I'd go out of my way to have it but still, give it a try if you're nearby.

I tried the chips from here I really don’t think they are Belgian chips they tasted normal

I visited Belgium Chips today, and while the chips were quite good, the employee’s attitude was disappointing. He seemed frustrated with his job and treated customers with noticeable disdain. He really needs to learn how to chill out and care about his customers. It's a shame, because the food deserves better service.

This Belgian Chip joint outside Brighton Station has been here for years yet I still have not tried them. Although, the chips are freshly cut, they were not my cup of tea because the texture is too crispy as it has been fried quite a few times. Admitted, they are probably better off tossed in sauce/with sauce but I wasn't interested. I chose the dill which didn't make an impact on taste even though there was quite a fair bit of it.

Liars The Fries are not fresh and handcutted. Its normal regulare fries like in every fish and chips store only for double price Old left over Fries they put again into the oil

Fast food to fill a gap but would need to be desperate to go back. May be triple cooked but retained greasy taste. Extra pound for simple sauce that’s free at most takeaways. No resemblance to Belgian frites at all

Very expensive for a portion of tasteless soggy fries that I waited 15 minutes for despite there being only one other customer being served. Paying around £15 for a large chips and 6 chicken strips is daylight robbery when the quality is so low.

Ten minutes for a small chips. You onky aell chips. £3.50 for a small cone as well sorry 👎

Normally the chips at its sister store at Brighton station are excellent. The chips here at St James st branch were black/brown and greasy. As if they were leftovers. At first I thought it odd, and presumed they must taste better than they looked. They weren't, I threw them in a bin. Top tip if they don't look like the giant chips outside, don't accept them.

Made from imported Belgian potatoes. Hot and crispy, thick like chips and crispy like fries. Cooked to order, by Amna. Choose salt and mayonnaise sides like places in Brussels.

Really enjoyed my food here. Ordered plain chips and some chicken strips. Chips tasted similar to that u would find at a fish & chip shop but smaller and the strips were delicious! Will be coming back again.

I do not recommend. Soft potato with lots of olive oil and the guy put the wrong cheese, I asked for cheddar and he put normal cheese

The fries were nice and piping hot when given to me on a cold winters day while I was craving for some authentic brighton food. They were fried up well with such crispness on the outside and their large fries portion was huge, bigger than my head. A good treat.

Place is for: chips, french fries , chicken popcorn,chicken chips, nuggets Nothing in different, but chicken chips have quality chicken itself; without other fillings.Thats the main attraction!!

These are the worst chips I have ever encountered at the price of £5.90 for a load of crispy burnt bits with sauce to cover them !!! Brighton st James street sucks !! There is a much better chip shop up the road !

The chips were tasty if a bit too salty, the chicken burger was undercooked and my stomach was unhappy for the best part of the next 2 days after. My lesson was just get the chips Also, my friend got harassed by some guy who was high AF while we were waiting for the order. Not the stores fault but like... worth a mention. Kemp town init.

Don’t waste your money here. Overpriced chips that have nothing special about them, just common British fries. The fries were warmed up not fresh and tasted horrible. £1 for a sauce, absolutely rip off. Not recommended.

The chips were lukewarm and had been cooked a while ago. Also they looked to be double fried in an attempt to warm old chips up, so we’re extremely heavy. Taste was okay, and the sauce (I got chipotle) was quite nice. The man who served me was friendly and recommended some sauces. Overall 3/5.

The chips. We're saturated in oil. Very greasy. Dark chips, as if re cooked a number of times Standards have really dropped. As they used to be crisp and delicious. Very dissatisfied. Won't be coming back.

Don’t waste ur money here . Ordered large fries in box and two extra sauce shared with two people. Cost nearly £10 . Fries was nothing special , just common British fries. Trust me I had Belgian fries before in Belgium. Customer service was from hell charged for three sauce and accused we hadn’t paid enough cause the box one was 50 p more than cone. Small fries is well over £6

Good range of seasons and sauces I had samurai sauce and tikki Mayo both tasty, crispy thick chips! Would recommend for a snack good price aswell

Ideally located near the station picking up the going home crowd. I thought I'd give it a go given the number of people waiting outside. I shouldn't have bothered. The chips where like oven chips but with extra helping of small dryed up remnants. The sauce (which they had about 20 varieties) was the same as a slightly tangy ketchup. I suspect you get the same tangy ketchup on most of the orders.

Belgian Chips is on the way to the Brighton beach from the Brighton Train station. If you are looking for the quick snack before heading to the beach, Belgian chips will fulfill your taste buds. The chips are very crispy, hot and tasty as well. The rate is very reasonable. They have vegan and vegetarian options with wide variety of chips and sauces. Tip: Dont forget to click photograph with the FRIES GUY.

We decided on trying these so called frites. Expensive and better off going to a fish and chip shop. The worrying thing are the piles of pre cooked chip laying on a shelf. This place seems to rely on folk who’ve had a lot to drink. The top of the looks good until you unravel the burnt ends. No stick to a good old fashioned chippy.

Came here last night on the way to the way to the station (as I think most people do) £7.25 I was charged for a large portion of chips with sauce!!!! They were nothing special and the sauce wasn’t great. Wouldnt go back.

Me and my friend went to get chips on Sunday, ordered 2 regular and 1 small very clearly! Paid for it then looked at my receipt and she had charged me for 5 large £17.85, I told her calmly this isn’t correct and she gave me back a £2 coin, I then went through the receipt and costs on the menu and it was still incorrect, told her it should be £13.85 it took a lot to get my money back and became very rude telling me and my friend “we can’t read”. I believe she tried to take advantage of us thinking we had been drinking!! Will not be spending my money here again!

They serve nice chips with great options. Unfortunately the staff there is rude. They make you uncomfortable, checking on you and trying not to help much when you ask anything. They look like they don't like what they do and that reflects it to the customers. Shame. I am not going to visit this shop again.

Only had the chips. Portion was big and yes price was more than your average chippy (but clearly advertised). Nice for a change. Person serving was polite and wore a mask.

Very disrespectful staff after I complained that I got very small chips if that what you could call them I obviously got the bottom of the bag as I've been before and loved it but this time was a real disappointment won't bother going back. To the staff you very disrespectful I say no more.

The actual chips and toppings were fantastic pity about the staff they were shocking ,unsure what the two lads problems were but definitely not doing the business any favours with really bad attitudes,won't be back

Something about the marketing of this place told me that I was going to be getting something unique - especially considering the crazy high price. What I actually got was just a large portion of standard (not particularly great) chips. What exactly makes them Belgian I don’t know, but save yourself the disappointment (and some money) and hit up one of the many decent chippies in the area.

I wish the person who cooked and served my chips by Churchill Square this weekend had been wearing their mask over their nose and not their chin if they were going to talk over my food several times. We're in a pandemic, for chips' sake. Protect your customers.

Chips were full of oil rather then fluffy potato like Belgian chips should be, the satay sauce was the only good thing I had but there was barely any of it, would not recommend.

Overcooked. And bottom third of the cone is full of burnt ends. Not what they used to be, not sure about the new items on the menu, takes away from what was a specialist shop to just another chippie. Won’t be back…

Basically this place is just a chippy without the fish. Packet full of burnt chip ends with salt and vinegar. Better off going to a proper fish and chip shop too. Also five pounds for a bag of chips!

Great spot for chips! Loads of different sauces and combinations to choose from and they were nice and hot with a good crisp.

Cooked well and friendly staff. Avoid the queen's road branch as it's completely the opposite.

Not taking payment on card unless more than 5£ , and most of their prices are under 5£, this can spread Covid.

Tried them for the first time last week and have been to most of the stores at least once now. And they are all consistently very good. Its hard to get good chips consistently good. Soft drinks pricey though, still 5 stars as its about the fries.

Chips great, sadly minimum transaction is £5 on a card. Stick a sign up saying that as everyone is paying by card now due to Covid.

The woman serving gave me a dirty look and I found it a bit rude, once given my chips I walked away and realised that there was a lot of salt, in fact there was so much salt that it hurt to eat. It seemed to have been done on purpose. I didn’t even engage with them and I wasn’t being rude or anything so the cause of doing this to me is unknown.

It's been almost a year and I'm still thinking about these chips.

Normal chips, nothing special. My chips are 100 times better....

No sé lo que pedí. Ella rectificó el error después de que pagué el aumento de 60 p, pero su actitud fue atroz.

Nothing special about these chips and they weren’t seasoned despite me asking. Surely season them with salt and toss before serving. Cheap thin ketchup. Friendly service. Would not return sadly but a nice idea in a fun cone.

The staff at these places around Brighton are largely aggressive and hostile.They are quite territorial and the area around these premises is frosty and dangerous since they opened.It’s sad rip offs like this try to dominate the area.The mark up on frying potatoes is astronomical.

I was expecting such good chips as they claim to be "belgian". How wrong i was. Over cooked and not at all the taste of belgian chips. The mayonnaise and tartare sauces were ok and so was the presentation but most definitely not worth the steep price. Shame.

Great quick chips spot with wide array of flavours available! The chips were fresh and were sold in a good quantity. There were multiple sauces and seasonings to pick from and I had the buffalo hot wing sauce mixed with peri peri which was a great combo. The tikka masala sounds interesting and might return for that. Would have liked it to be more saucy but was a great snack overall.

Well, chips are chips anywhere you go. They're pretty difficult to get wrong – and any place that manages so should be avoided. Thankfully, this isn't the case with this place, though I do wonder if the £4.35 for regular chips plus sauce (hot chilli, in my case) is justified. One thing I do credit the sauce for, nonetheless, is it had seeds and bits of pepper skin in it – rare for a fast food place. Also, it at least tingled the tongue. As for the chips themselves: quite a generous portion for regular and not many miserable dregs at the end, which is a bonus. I only eat chips when I need my junk fixes. Next time I'm in Brighton and that 'fix' descends on me again, I'll be back to this place.

I wanted a regular size fries with tomato sauce and salt and pepper. The pepper was very overdone ( I thought it would be freshly ground but it's not). Made the whole dish unappealing and disappointing. Be aware there is a minimum spend of £5 if you want to pay by card so if you order large at £4.95 you are still short of 5p and would be forced to have an extra item. Not really fair. Hence the 2 stars

This place is ideal for those seeking some nourishment after a night out in Brighton. They offer a magnificent array of sauces, seasonings, gravies to choose from and you can basically get anything you want on a portion of chips. They are proper chips, not over-fried fries and offer nice fluffy potato. The prices aren't the cheapest but the quality is significantly higher than one would find in a typical takeaway joint.

Was running late for a train and misjudged the queue, but the lads sorted out chips quick when we mentioned it. Brilliant service!

Chips here are gorgeous, so much on offer!! And the staff kindly charged my phone so I could call my other half when my phone died over sleeping on a train from London! Can’t speak highly enough of these lads!! More places needed like this!!

I had a regular portion of Belgian Chips with a sauce topping (+£0.65) of mango-chilli-lime-sauce. The chips were amazing and well cooked, but the sauce was extremely watered down, so had NO taste. Probably wouldn't go back as so many other chip shops around Brighton.

Ive been here twice in one month.

Bad customer experience. The manager is lazy and disinterested and has a bad manner serving people. I asked for sauce mixed in and the new girl there spilt the chips. She's new so fair enough but when the manager was called over he told her to just put more chips in and sauce on top without asking me if that was okay. The other girl there was working hard and training the new girl well. She should be manager instead. That all said the chips were good but a bit pricey

Friendly, and simply great chips, ordered a large cheesey chips with ketchup and mayo, Came to £7.05. Big enough to share between two.

Great chips. Just watch out for seagulls nearby, because they know it too!
