Friendly, long-standing queer-owned business in the heart of Whalley Range. Solid food choices, non-fuss, and a good selection of drinks. Michi is a great pub landlord and puts on a geat programme of events across the year, too.

Such a lovely bunch working here, they always have a great craft beer on and now the food is awesome too. Really pleased to see this place thriving.

So many pubs have that "there are no strangers here, only friends you haven't met yet" sign hanging on the wall - this pub doesn't need it; it's written all over the faces of everyone in there.

Came on a weekday evening for a drink and some food and it was so good! I had mushroom and tarragon pie, and my partner had the spinach and feta, both were big portions and came with chips and a really nice side salad. Will definitely be back :)

Asked a simple question to bar staff, the reply was "I'm not actually serving you at the moment so just wait". Wasn't at all busy, she was obviously having a bad day but snapping was shocking and unjustified.

New Sunday lunch menu is delicious!! Really good gravy, lamb/beef/pork/vegetarian options all looked great. Bar staff unsure which is their favourite - always a good sign!! Haha very friendly bar staff too. Very full and content now :) vegetarian pictured. Looks like not enough gravy, but plates are huge so there was actually plenty. Thanks! :)

Fantastic roast, brilliant service, good spot.

I always love to spend time in this place, the atmosphere is cosy and warm. The owner was super kind when we asked to watch a football game, she played for us and had a lovely chat with us. I have been here several times and I always enjoyed, I suggest this place if you’d like to have a nice night out with friends or family

We love the nip! Don't forget to order food- I highly recommend the deliciously seasoned fries with chef special spicy ketchup... try once and you'll get just as addicted as I am... and if you tip up on a Sunday the roast is not to be missed!

Lovely, friendly bar. Staff are always very welcoming. They have a new pop up kitchen and the roasts are brilliant! Pizzas (especially the Welsh Rarebit one) are also very tasty and good value for money.

We love coming here with friends and family but today was top notch! The roasts were incredible and catered for everyone- kids loved theirs and veggie and meat adult meals were delicious. Staff all lovely and surroundings relaxing and cosy. Thankyou!

Excellent food here. Sunday lunch of lamb shanks in red wine gravy. Delicious, melt in the mouth lamb that just fell off the bone. Also, I got sides of roasties and yorkies. What more could you ask for? Apple struesel cake was crunchy on the outside and so light. Had to stop myself licking the caramel sauce from the sticky toffee pudding off the plate.

Very happy to have a great new kitchen on our doorstep. We’ve been coming to The Nip for years but are very happy with the new kitchen. Fab roasts, great brunch. Varied options and something for everyone. Highly recommend.

It’s been advertised as there are new owners of the kitchen. So popped in to try the new sunday menu a month back. We were really surprised how nice they were, on our table we had the beef, chicken and vegan option and all looked great and tasted great too. We went back last week with a few friends after we told them about the changes and with some excitement about having a new decent eatery in Whalley Range. Glad to say the quality from our first visit remained the same so we were disappointed. On a side note: the nip has always had a great gin selection but in my view the beers never been it’s strongest asset. This seems to have changed as has a wide selection of local craft beers on tap Place was also very welcoming for our horde of kids so a plus too. Yesterday I popped in for a coffee and tried the brunch menu. Coffee was nice but could of been warmer the BLTG I had was the size of my head so huge portion and very nice.

Great New Brunch Menu 🤤 Went today for brunch after a recommendation from a friend. They were not wrong. Lovely, tasty, and great value huge breakfasts. Quality ingredients cooked and seasoned well and service as always with a smile and friendly banter. We had the Royale and the Meat Breakfast. Can recommend both, huge filling portions and great for a hangover. The 'grandpa sausages' are delish. We will be back for Sunday Roast.

Went here on the way in to Manchester for brunch at the new pop up kitchen! Steak and eggs was amazing, a whole juicy steak and perfectly cooked poached eggs, presented perfectly! Full English breakfast was delicious! Would definitely recommend and will be back soon!

This is a lovely queer run venue providing a safe and friendly space for drinks, food etc. there’s a good selection of beer, and plenty of events scheduled. It’s totally family and dog friendly and has non gendered set enclosed toilets.

We love you 💕 quickly became our local when we moved a few years back. Amazing staff, welcoming environment and tasty food. Great transport links too if you're coming from town- tram stop is a few mins walk and the bus stops is close by.

The fries are a little disappointing and the menu is out of date, but the pizza is great, the beer is nice, and the vibes are lovely.

What a nice surprise this was. Recently moved to South Manchester and introduced to this place by friends. It's a very inclusive space, friendly owner and certainly puts Whalley Range on the map. Dog loves it too!

Lovely, queer-friendly space; pleasant staff; delicious pizza with vegan cheese option (good enough that a non-vegan didn't notice the difference). A problem with the radiators meant it was a little chilly. Hopefully a temporary situation.

Always a pleasure to visit here because of the warm and friendly staff, great bar pizza and snacks and a great selection of beer. The clientele are always exotic and colourfull too.

This is a nice bar to visit. They have a good selection of drinks. Good selection of draft beers and always with a good selection of guest draft too. Reasonable prices for drinks 🍸 cocktails are a very pleasant from £7. While you are here the food is good, made fresh the pizza 🍕 are worth a try. They've made good efforts here for social distance and hygiene. One of the few places making the Reasonable choice and taking tracking details .

Michi, quien lo dirige, es increíble, siempre sonriente y acogedor, y todo el resto del personal es muy amable y servicial también. La comida es deliciosa y hay una gran selección de bebidas. Desde el cierre se han abierto de forma segura y sensata, proporcionando un desinfectante de manos, un sistema de reserva de mesas, mucho espacio entre las mesas y un sistema unidireccional para los baños. Gran área exterior también.

Went here last Saturday for xmas party, came over from the Wirral to stay with my friend Suzanne, she recommended this bar as it her local and it didn't disappoint. Food was nice & tasty (pizza), bar staff friendly we just had a really good night so will definitely visit again.

A great local pub with a great environment for chatting in had a very good Beef Burger with fries and salad and a couple of pints. It was a very tasty meal would recommend The Nip to anyone in Manchester! I will be back soon.

What a fantastic Gem of a local! The staff always welcome with a fantastic smile! The happy hours pizzas are great value for money, and the local events and fundraisers mean this bar is very community based!

Came with friends here for a couple of drinks and to watch wales v. Ireland on the big screen. Always welcoming and comfy seats, food is great too!

A real hit with the locals, good music and although I didn't get to try the food it looked great.

Good vibe and atmosphere. Sticks very closely to chorltons bohemian theme and culture. The following of is good quality and there are some good deals available here. Who can argue at a 5 quid pizza deal? Drinks wise. On the pricey side. But it's on the edge of chorlton so... Still a good range of beers and not the common Carling place etc. So it is slightly justified. I would go again.

Great location, conveniently located near bus stops, super friendly staff. The bar is dog friendly too, which seems to be quite common around chorlton and the surrounding area. Food is good and drinks are reasonably priced. And they cater for a variety of tastes and dietary requirements. It's a great place to go for casual drinks and or food.

Ok small bar. Ordered food pretty late and were the only group eating but some people still had to wait ages for theirs. Others had almost finished. Prices were ok for what it was and it tasted good. Drinks were drinks. Very average place really.

Great atmosphere, friendly, efficiently run bar, great food, music, comfy sofas, also dining tables of various sizes from 1/2 to probably 10/12. Family/child and dog friendly, easy place to go as a woman on your own. Free WIFI. A well run bar, definitely my preferred one of the three on the block.
