Albert's Shed in Manchester

We have been meeting here every 6 months for several years now. The staff have always been efficient and friendly and the food is good - although it's a pity that they no longer offer the sticky toffee pudding.

I had the cheese and onion pie. I could have eaten it way too quickly. It was so good. Along with the onion gravy. It really was a wonderful meal. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Second visit and won’t be the last. Had a great midweek lunch prior to going to the theatre. Service was really good. Food was amazing. Ambiance of the restaurant lovely. Can’t wait to come back.

Food was expensive and was look warm .

Kretia was amazing! Friendly, approachable but professional. She took immense time and trouble to ensure we had a great experience for my daughter's birthday. She took my daughter's auto immune disease very seriously, and did everything she could to reassure us, and ensure her food was safe for her to eat. Had a lovely evening at Albert’s Shed. Service was brilliant from Dylan, very attentive and really friendly. Food was tasty too, but slightly expensive for what it was. Drinks were also nice, but again quite expensive for what they were and wine wasn’t too chilled. Panacotta, however, was a very good sized portion and very tasty.

Mi pareja y yo asistimos el 2 de mayo de 2025, nunca antes habíamos estado aquí. Teníamos a nuestro perro con nosotros. El personal de frente de la casa inmediatamente nos recibió, nos llevó a la zona de espera hasta que se preparó una mesa y luego se entregó, lo que es en mi opinión, algunos de los mejores servicios que he recibido de un equipo. Cada miembro que nos atendió fue más que educado, cortés y servicial. La comida era exquisita, y a un precio increíblemente razonable. Estoy haciendo un punto de escribir esta crítica antes de irme, porque absolutamente lo rompieron esta noche y no quiero olvidarme de revisar el lugar y el equipo.

My friends and I attempted to come to Albert's, Castle Street, last Friday, 11th april to celebrate a friend's 28th birthday. It was a warm day and the birthday boy was wearing shorts and the tall bouncer, white, with a bold head, not very warm or friendly refused him entry because of his shorts. He then made fun of this reason and attempted to justify it. We didn't argue, we accepted the group of us and were walking off to go somewhere else. Then, this bouncer allowed two women, one with a very very high leopard print skirt in but not my friend in shorts that did go down to knee height, very appropriate length. The birthday boy noticed this and pointed it out to all of this and thought it was Unbelievable and a hypocrisy, considering what he had issued us just a few minutes before. I would, as someone for women's rights and equal rights, see this as sexist and misogynistic. I believe Albert's have high standards but if this is the kind of morals they have manning their doors, I don't recommend anyone go there in future. Sort it out and sack this door staff or this company because that's not right at all! 👎🏼

Went for afternoon lunch with the girls for my birthday. Staff went above and beyond and make the experience sensational. Natalie was our server and she was fantastic and set the tone for my day! Thank you :)

It took 20 minutes for anyone to ask us if we wanted any drinks and then it took over an hour for our food to come. When the food came it was lukewarm and the fries were undercooked. The garlic bread was really nice though and the waitress did apologies for the delay, which was caused by sharing a pizza oven with dukes

I went there with friends to have a lovely time, the food was amazing but the service was bad, it wasn't busy from what I was seeing, also I was raising my hand several times to call the waiter and most of the times he didn't even look at me so I don't think I'm coming back.

The place is beautiful but... We were unlucky. On the day that we went there the screen from the kitchen had an issue and our food took a long long long time to arrive. The waitress was late and it took more than 30 min for someone to come to us to get our order... But she didn't take our order because she had to go somewhere. When the waitress from our area finally came she had a very very strong smell of perfume that made us all nauseous. We avoided requesting anything else because of this. The second waitress came to our table smelling so much at cigarettes that my child coughed. It was like she was smoking in our table. HORRIBLE. They brought one soup and took them 10 min to bring a spoon! Our beef was over cooked, not what we requested. Everything was tasteless. I do not recommend the 2 or 3 course option. The food is too little, the beef is way too thin and it's tasteless. The desert was fine. I might go back there to give a second chance but not so soon. It was a really disappointing experience for my whole family. And if you have kids, stay outside. The ppl inside will look at you and judge you if your little one cries (what happens all the time with children).

Natalie was amazing. Clearly struggling as they were short staffed but she was lovely. Kept checking in on us and very informative. EMPLOY MORE NATALIES!!!!

AVOID. My boyfriend got food poisoning after having fish and chips. Course set menu is a joke. Made of low quality ingredients. They also charged my boyfriend a service fee. I’d prefer a refund except for my main menu (the only dish I ate) to be honest. The only thing I ate was a only small scoop of icecream in the dessert plate and the steak. Other things such as appetizer,chips,rest of dessert etc, I had one small bite and push them away.

Visited here for a birthday dinner with two friends. We order a bottle of wine to share and then some of the starters (peppers, prawns, garlic bread, hummus and dip) which were all very very good. For mains we got the beef, chicken and burger. For the price I thought the mains were going to be a little better but we’re still good. The waitress was friendly and brought out a small brownie for my friends birthday. A nice dining experience

Wow the food was amazing and the service was out of this world.Our waitress Rachel was warm friendly and nothing was to much trouble for her. For this reason we gave our experience 5 stars for everything and we returned for Sunday dinner which was amazing aswell. Totally recommend Albert's shed we definitely be back.

Went in for a Sunday lunch sitting. Food was generally good, we had the Sunday roast platter - really good flavours specially the chicken. The service is absolutely shocking. We had some questions and one waitress walked off midway through the conversation as though she had better things to do. The other waitress who was originally taking care of us forgot the drinks as well. The cheek of them to then add 10% service charge, when I asked them to take it off, the sense of entitlement in the reaction was so quite telling.

It was the first time I had been. I took my elderly mum before going to a show so time was short. Service was excellent, the food was amazing and the size of the tea pots were fabulous. A wonderful start to a wonderful day.

What a recommendation! Possibly the best meal experience we had in Manchester during our whirlwind two night stay in this lovely city! Ambience great, toilets clean, staff so attentive and helpful and food tremendous! Excellent kitchen team producing high quality tasty dishes. Our experience was enhanced by being able to take advantage of the set menu deal. Also enjoyed the best Porn Star Martini cocktail I have ever tasted! So much so I ordered one in another establishment, but sadly for me didn't come close to the same expectation ;o))) Will definitely be back on our next visit!

First time at the Alberts Shed and it didn’t disappoint! I arranged a large booking for a work event and right from the start the booking team were so accommodating. I wasn’t too sure what to expect dining here, however a colleague of mine recommended it and it was worth it! Despite a young team of servers, they were all so professional and friendly. Right from the start they made sure we had all we needed. We had the option to pre order and we didn’t, which left me a bit concerned, but despite a large group the food came out relatively quickly. There was a slight wait between courses but that was to be expected. The only thing I would say was the service of drinks were a tad slow. There should have been more than one person making the drinks, we at times were waiting 15+ mins for a drink maybe longer. Not the biggest issue, but just a slight let down. The food came out piping hot and steak was cooked to order and was perfection, despite everyone having different steak preferences. A massive thank you to DYLAN!! He was an absolute star! So polite and accommodating! That service charge well spent for he and his team. I would recommend the salmon which was lovely, the butterscotch mojito and the spiced pear and almond tart! By far the star of the show and one of the nicest I’ve ever had! I will definitely be booking all my future work events there. Had an amazing time and would highly recommend!

The restaurant was busy with office parties but the service we received from Nicola was brilliant, friendly and efficient, and even though the place was packed all were all the staff were lovely. The food was beautiful and we had a lovely experience.

I went to Albert's Shed last Sunday with a friend.We used to go there very regularly since it opened and were looking forward to a pleasant evening there.We ordered our drinks and then fish chips and mushy peas from the young waiter.A few minutes later the managress came to our table and in a rather officious manner informed us that we couldnt have fish and chips there but could in Dukes next door if there was room. We should have left and gone somewhere else as the atmosphere in Dukes was awful.It was rather empty,loud music playing and the TV showing the United match.I gather that Dukes is probably for the younger people.Next door was much nicer The fish and chips were fine.My question is that as they made in the one kitchen why on earth couldn't the manageress used her discretion and allowed this in Alberts instead You have now lost 2 or more cutomers as we shall not be returning

Came on a Friday as a party of 14 for a pre-booked private room to be told that there was no private room at this venue. We were compensated with a few bottles of prosecco and sat on 2 long tables beside each other. Ordered from the party menu, which had a good mix of options, including vegan. I ordered a starter and a main from the vegan party menu, the soy and ginger tofu and Malay curry. Starters came relatively quickly and mine was delicious, however other members of the party who ordered the halloumi salad from the normal party menu were left a little underwhelmed by the two small cubes of halloumi in their salad. Mains weren't too far behind however an extra cheese and onion pie from the normal party menu was brought out that no-one had ordered, and everyone but me had received their meals. The waiter that took my food order then came out and asked if I had ordered the cheese and onion pie, so I told him no, I'd ordered the Malay curry from the vegan menu. A few minutes later, someone else came out and apologised, said there had been a mix-up and that my food would be a few minutes. Around 10 minutes after everyone else had received their mains, mine came out, however, I had to ask for the flatbreads that were supposed to come with my main. I also ordered a mocktail, and after around 15 minutes of it not arriving, my friend had to ask the same waiter who took my drink order, to chase it up. It arrived another 5 minutes later. Another of the party ordered a bottle of water later on, that had to be chased up after not arriving for 20 minutes. The staff were friendly and the food was tasty, but it wasn't very busy for a Friday night in Manchester city centre, so the level of service was slightly disappointing.

Celebrated my niece’s 21st birthday at Albert’s Shed. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was great and the service was superb… particularly considering we were a sizeable party. Natalie was our server and she was fantastic, so happy and buoyant and really contributed to the atmosphere of the evening. Thank you!

Had a lovely experience here this evening. Went out for dinner by myself and the staff was attentive, but not pushy. They immediately asked about allergies, which is a big plus! Personally I don't have any, but through family and friends I know it can be difficult to deal with them while eating out. I had dinner with dessert and two cocktails. The food was decently priced and I recieved quite a big portion. The cocktails were a little expensive, but very much worth it! I would definetely go back here, perhaps for lunch. A big reccomend.
