Nineteen in Lambeth

Mi esposo y yo encontramos este bonito bar el día de San Valentín. ¡Era perfecto, privado y hermoso! Incluso pudimos elegir canciones de blues para mi esposo y para mí. El personal era amable, servicial y educado con muchas sonrisas. Pedimos comida especial - ostras y langostinos empanados para empezar. Simplemente perfecto. Nos encantó. Estamos planeando una visita allí para el Día del Padre por la gracia de Dios.

Encontramos este restaurante mexicano en Streatham high street, justo al lado del pub Horse and Groom, nos recibió muy bien uno de los miembros del personal de Mellisa. . . Shane fue muy atento y estuvo a su disposición para aconsejarle sobre los diferentes platos. . . . . mi hijo tenía un costillar enorme, mientras que mi esposa y yo teníamos 5 platos de tappas. . . . El servicio fue increíble y la comida realmente estaba al rojo vivo, sabrosa y abundante, antes de pagar nuestra factura, Mellisa nos trajo tomas complementarias de tequila junto con la sal y la lima. . . . . fue un ambiente encantador, excelente personal y buena comida a precios razonables, recomendaría El Chico muy altamente y sin duda volveremos pronto. . . . ¡gracias!

Un pequeño y encantador bar en Streatham. muy buena variedad de rojos y por supuesto los cócteles. Estuve allí para cenar el viernes pasado y realmente lo recomiendo; lugar agradable, servicio y comida increíble (especialmente el vegano mac y queso).

Pero no lo hice. Francamente, mi madre y yo sentimos que éramos huéspedes unwlecome en fiesta privada de alguien más. El servicio era amable pero lento y parecía que sólo ocurren cuando flirteando/conversación en el bar alcanzó un hiato. La comida estaba bien, pero no cerca de los agudos de otros comentarios. El ambiente era cada vez más ruidosa arruinada por conversación intentando superar el deporte en un iPad vs música vs tratando de mirar el rendimiento de un Grammy Adele tv mal sintonizado. Quería me encanta este lugar. Por desgracia no. No volveré a pesar de legacy 19 de Streatham.

Live really close by and love going here. Nice food always served with side of olives, amazing cocktails, lovely garden area and very chilled approach all round. The owner is always knocking about, having a laugh at the bar

Great food reasonably priced and added bonus of a brilliant dj. ..spinning rare groove to garage... OMG it's like dining in your front room with the choons flowing. Room enough to shake a leg too. Staff very attentive. Great vibe

My aim was to found somehwere to sit and work, i cam in and was greeted by friendly owner, order a very nice coffee, he also offered some water, fast wifi, nice lights. I order an amazing chicken baguette which was tasty, will definitely be coming again and inviting freinds, perfect place to catch up with friends. Also has a cool bar! A definite must go in streatham! Emmanuel

Popped in for a drink after just moving to the area and ended up there for hours! Staff are fantastic, food is fresh and tasty and the cocktails are brilliant! Good beers too! Been back many times and always a great standard!

Popped in here for a quick drink and a snack - what a nice surprise. Swift, friendly service, a good Bloody Mary, and delicious pulled pork scotch egg. Will definitely be back!

Amazing place, the owners are just too friendly and cool; great drinks and delicious food, had the best piadina in ages! I'll be back soon for another great night ;)

I went here many years ago and had a good experience. We went with children and the food was very upmarket and good. One would argue had they opened more recently with the further gentrification Streatham has experienced rexently it may have remained open. It is now closed!

Very small and pokey place, staff are not great and food is average. Wouldn't really bother going again to be honest.

Had a lovely time here ordered steak dish with roast potatoes it was lovely. Atmosphere was great, nice nix of music. Tasty cocktails too

We've never had a bad night here. The food is great, the cocktails are as some - my fav is the pina colada but their list is extensive. Czech Steropraman beer on tap is always great and refreshing. The DJs play some funky tunes and the atmosphere is really good. You can send you while night here. Its not the cheapest of places but I guess you get what you pay for.

Popped in for a midweek business lunch when passing by. The cuisine may officially be Anglo-French but they're pretty good at Italian as well and several of the staff are Italian. The seafood linguine special was tasty and the portion size just right. The staff are efficient and quite friendly and the food takes sufficient time to arrive to reassure you that it's freshly cooked to order. It's a small but unpretentious place with a rustic, exposed brickwork look and relaxed atmosphere. Watch out for the offers on the board outside, which look pretty reasonable.

Called in in the off chance of a table on a early Friday evening as we loved this place last time we were in York over a year ago and got the best seat in the house , window table on the first floor. Quality of food and cooking was brilliant and great service too. We will be back

I came here with a few friends last week and had an amazing night!! Big plates of food, friendly atmosphere, the music was spot on, gorgeous men served us and when the bill came it was so reasonable we had to tip!! What more could of group of ladies want:) I returned with my husband this week for dinner and had another lovely night, great service, laughs, very reasonable bill, our table was at the back so we had our space and the staff remembered me which is always nice..I recommend to everyone:) x

Ottima atmosfera, cocktail di pregio e cibo delicato. Il vino italiano fa da padrone durante il pasto.

Have only ever been for cocktails after work, great when it's happy hour with 2 for 1. Great range of drinks.

Visited a couple of times and the food here is excellent, particularly the eggs florentine; the yolks were perfect. Highly recommended.

I really do not like to leave bad feedbacks but this what I experienced make me feel that i have to do this,on this occasion,I do not know how other dishes from the menu are prepared and served but Eggs Benedict were very disappointing - Poached Egg was overcooked - hard boiled, hollandaise sauce along with bacon completely tasteless, green salad served as garnish was showing that it was fresh long time ago. Overall very disappointed, will not go back ever again.

I have visited this small restaurant a few times - once we had a pre-arranged family celebration (which they organised excellently), once just for coffee, and more recently as a foursome for an evening meal. Each time we have enjoyed the intimate and personal service. It doesn't pretend to be 5* and the prices are accordingly reasonable. The menu isn't extensive but it is very varied. We recommend it and will go again ourselves.

I've been here twice now and it's a lovely quiet spot on the high road for some drinks. Not sure what type of food they do but their chips were good with the special sauce. They do some amazing cocktails and service is great with the waiters. They also do 2 for 1 cocktails!!!They have a DJ who plays music at a good level so you can enjoy it but still socialise with those who you're with. Definitely will recommend if you're looking for something laid back and quiet!!!!

We went here for cocktails and a meal. The cocktails were hit and miss, with a flourescent green one that was particularly poor. The food was very expensive, with the veggie burger being exceptionally poor (I think they serve the same one in my local leisure centre), and the burgers were served with 5 chips. My £15 stuffed fish was ok, but definitely not worth the money.When we complained about the number of chips, they initially argued. Before the manager brought some complimentary ones. But it was too little too late!

We went for a meal on a night which had a happy hour between 7:00 - 9:00pm. When we finally got to give our order we seemed to be forgotten about. Staff were rushing around doing drinks orders but forgetting about the people who were there for the food. We asked for a tomato and onion salad but what we got was a small bowl of lettuce with a little tomato and onion, the accompanying burgers were just ok, nothing special. We were just ignored. This restaurant needs to remember that the people who go in to eat and equally important to those who are only drinking.

Su consiglio di un'amica sono arrivata in questo locale dove, con un gruppo di altri italiani, abbiamo festeggiato la Pasqua. Vino non carissimo e molto buono, cucina non troppo eccezionale ma bisogna dire che i dolci erano veramente buonissimi, così buoni che ne abbiamo ordinati due a testa! Lo staff è stato gentilissimo e sempre disponibile, e nonostante facessimo molto baccano per il giorno di festa è stato molto comprensivo! Musica ottima. Da tornarci con meno gente!

The food was standard and the service terrible, my husband ordered drinks on two different occasions by the same girl and both times he was told they would bring it and she never done a thing just stood at the bar and served other people drinks so he had to ask someone else on both occasions for a drink, I think she just came to work to look pretty. The staff are not understanding or helpful they don't offer a good service, wouldnt go back even if they offered me the good for free

We live round the corner for this restaurant so have been on several occasions in the past. This is the first time we've probably come in about a year and nice to see the inside has been refreshed and updated. The menu also changed tack a bit so if you haven't been for a while I suggest you you come back and give the restaurant a try. We had two courses, which were nicely executed. I had scallop for starter, which was delightful, followed by fish. My husband had Nduja starter, followed by pasta. I had a taste of his starter, which was bit too hot for me, quite big for a starter. Too full for deserts. Will be happy to return again in the future.

We really enjoyed our saturday evening here... the food is good value - great seafood salad starter marinated in lime juice. Good quality ingredients. Very warm and friendly service.All made even better by the presence of Tom - a very cool oldskool dj with great taste in 70s soul music. I think they should provide some decks for him so he can bring a selection of his 1000s of vinyl record collection he told us he has at home so we can hear the originals - he's put them onto cd. A great brasserie/bar but definitely worth going on a saturday night when he's there.

I went for lunch as part of groupon deal, it was a quite, relaxing atmosphere. the menu was a little dissapointing and I found it a little strange!!, myself and hubby decided to have chicken ceaser salad and a grilled salmon salad and we were pleasantly surprised, the food was fresh and tasty ( thats why it probably took long to get to our table!).Good service as only 1 waiter.might go back again and try dinner menu, maybe there will be more to choose from.

Went here on a Saturday night through a Groupon deal so my expectations weren't too high but I was pleasantly surprised. The music was good and the atmosphere was lively. The staff were really attentive and friendly. I had the seafood starter which was really tasty and the tagliatelle as the main. The portion size of the main was really generous and it tasted really good. I then had the white chocolate cheesecake which was also really good. Overall we were all really impressed with this restaurant and would all return.

We went here on Saturday through a groupon deal (which wasn't worth the money). We both had steak baguette which I love but the steak was breaded which doesn't work. We also both had dessert, I had the pancakes which I could have done better at home! My friend had ice cream which was two scoops of bog standard ice cream (not home made) and we had to ask for chocolate sauce which it said it came with. The service was very good, however I won't be returning.

So enjoyed a lively, busy evening with 5 friends at Nineteen! Food was good & plentiful, drinks flowed & cocktails were nice.The staff were really friendly & extremely helpful.Would recommend Nineteen as a buzzy bar & restaurant & well worth a visit.

I would come here more often for breakfast but the music is always so loud and always rnb style and its a bit too much for me for breakfast time! The staff are nice and turns the volume down when asked but its still not as comfortable as I would like. Please change music style in the morning!

My friend treated me to lunch and suggested this restaurant. I have always wanted to visit this establishment and I was not disappointed. I ordered Lasagne and in my opinion, it was one of the best ever. The salad was fresh with a lovely dressing. The atmosphere was relaxing , staff attentive but not over bearing. At no point did I feel rushed to order or leave. Would recommend this venue for an early evening out. I have been strongly advised that they have great music over the weekend and often tables are moved and people are dancing.This is what I call an all-round restaurant. Check it out , especially if you live in South London.

food is ok, but overall it is below average!!! It is ok if you want to waste your money in a strange atmosphere, drinks that are not value for hard earned money :) I would not reccomended it ,there are plenty of better restaurants in streatham....:))

Happened across Nineteen by accident, food was amazing staff very friendly nothing was too much trouble. Will definately be making this a regular eating and drinking venue.Well done NineteenAngiebabe57

Went with a group of friends for Sunday lunch. I had the roast pork which was absolutely delicious. Not only was it perfectly cooked but the portion was was very generous! My friend had the steak, which again, was perfect- really great quality! Service was very friendly, the atmosphere, very chilled out! We'll definitely be going back regularly!!

Wow incredible find! Service and staff very good and quick. Ate homemade fresh gnocchi .... Don't usually like it but this was amazing!!! Fresh made pasta is truly quality . Sunny day people taking there time eating and enjoying the weather.

We went back to Nineteen again recently partly a) to see if the breakfast had improved and b) because we always feel bad walking past it or patronising Purple next door, which is always far busier. Disappointingly Nineteen only offers about five options for breakfast. Having had a very questionable plate of eggs benedict the last time, this time my partner and I ordered pancakes. Alas pancakes were off that day, and as their limited menu offered almost nothing else that took our fancy, we went next door where there is a huge selection of breakfasts.I think that Nineteen has huge potential but it really needs to expand on its breakfast menu. If it is going to limit it to only five items or so, there's really no excuse for one of them being "off" on a given day, particularly something like pancakes, which surely anyone could make.I will probably go back to Nineteen but perhaps not for breakfast; maybe their dinners are better. I might not rush to go back, though. Sorry, Nineteen, I honestly wanted to write a better review this time.

At first glance this restaurant may not attract but enter and you will be surprised.The menu is attractive and the food very good in a modern yet retro setting.The staff are attentive and friendly and we have revisited a number of times not to be disapointed.

If you want to have some nice drinks, then worth a visit.. If you happen to be hungry, then by all means try the food, but don't expect anything great.

Popped in for some supper with my GF and was pleasantly surprised. Great looking restaurant/bar, super friendly staff even if the young girl was a bit dizzy, and the food was amazing. We both had steaks which were cooked perfect with a tantalising side salad and served with beautiful hand cut chips and all the trimmings. The biggest surprise was the price, great value for money enough for us to buy another bottle of Red.. Well recommended.

This is the best cocktail bar in Streatham and the food menu is not bad either. Cocktails- The variety of cocktails is not extensive, but the ones are available are very good and well made. The best part is that there is always some sort of "deal" on cocktails which I think is excellent value for money. Atmosphere - The decor is very well thought out and is not OTT. From the chandelier to the elaborate mirrors and the quality wall paper. There are sofas, or French cafe style table and chairs outside, or lovely fine dining booths, or bar stools in the bar area or bar style restaurant chairs which is all good for choice. The music is mellow and not too loud and best of all, there is free wifi. I have had a breakfast meeting here before and it was perfect.Service - This is where this otherwise perfect establishment falls down. I have on more than 1 occasion not been able to get something because "it's run out". I don't think this is good and suggests perhaps there is poor management somewhere. I also find one member of staff who looks like the oldest particularly unprofessional in both his conversations with other staff or customers....I think rude is the word I would use to describe him. Perhaps if he was pulled to the side and told, it might improve his behaviour.Food - The bar food menu is top class. It's a notch or 2 above wetherspoons/lloyds and is well priced. The finer dining menu is not extensive but is usually done very well. I also love how you can do special requests if you book in advance. Overall, the food side of things could be improved especially on areas like having all ingredients available and making sure the food temperature is right..#not too cold.Overall, I can't recommend this place enough and would recommend it any day, especially for value and atmosphere. Not sure how well they can manage big groups though.

I wouldn't say the food was amazing - it's good but there are better places in Streatham. However the nibbles that we have with our drinks, the home made breads and dips are always satisfying. I've had a steak there once and it was perfectly pleasant but not the most flavoursome I've ever hand. Wine choice and cocktails are lovely - a great way to start a night out in Streatham. Really good atmosphere and a nice backdrop to any evening. Very laid back.

unfortunately everything else was a let down, except for the cocktails. The event was a birthday meal, 15 turn up rather than the expected 20. The manager let us know he was not happy and said he had hired extra staff, he got irritated when we were ordering and said we should of decided before hand. The food was very bland and only slightly warm, and the desert was of poor quality, you can tell it is not prepared on site. If you want a few drinks before going on to somewhere else, I would recommend, but to eat here again is a definite NO.

Seems like this restaurant gets very mixed reviews.Once was enough.We were a party.They forgot my meal and when it came the prawns were not properly cooked.The pudding was advertised as 'apple and strawberry' pie. We asked for ours to be warm.Half way through we realised that the cold pie was in fact tasteless cherry.After complaining the waitress came back and said she was told to change the menu board.No apologies, poor service, never again.

We went while they had their steak deal £13.50 for steak and pudding! Both our steaks were cooked fantastic (which is unusual, when asking for your steak rare), the peppercorn sauce was also fantastic.I then had the eton mess, the cream was a little too airy and would of like it to be a little thicker but never the less an ok pudding - especially for the price. I would probably have gone for the brownie next time!Would recommend this place, and ideal for when you want to go to the cinema on a Wednesday :) especially with this deal.

The resturant looks lovely from the outside and it often has special offers mid week to draw in customers. We took the opportunty to try such a deal which was a choice of burger and a dessert which seems nice and easy before we caught a movie. All I can say it was extremely disorganise, with us waiting for drinks, continually reminding the staff re drinks then the deserts and a serious lack of speed. Actually from ordering it took nearly 1.5 hours and all I say is thank goodness for the adverts at the cinema or we would of miised the start of the movie.Food was good just need to get that service sorted

Staying in London for the weekend, and found this place for lunch.The food was fantastic the service second to none. I would go back here any time to eat.It was very clean. Amazing.

My husband and I visited Nineteen at the weekend having recently moved into the area. We were greeted by the barman who creates an impressive cocktail to your own specification. All of the staff were really friendly and readily happy to help. We ate bar snacks which were reasonably priced and tasted yummy. We will definitely visit this place again. Really impressed considering the dearth decent of places in Streatham.

Whilst Nineteen is actually quite a nice venue, the food there isn't the best. We had breakfast there on Sunday (which wasn't our first visit): my boyfriend had French toast; I had eggs benedict. My partner said that the French toast was a little soggy, and not as good as can be found at Purple (next door) or down the road at Perfect Blend. What confused me, though, was that my eggs benedict comprised not eggs and bacon, as is normal, or even eggs and ham, as I have also seen, but eggs on thick chunks of cold, pre-cooked pork (the type one would have for Sunday lunch). Also the eggs were really watery and the hollandaise sauce not great. Given that we had waited 20 minutes for our food to even arrive, I was pretty disappointed. I don't remember the food being this bad the first time we went, so maybe it was a blip, but I don't think I'd chance it again.

We went there because of the Jamie Oliver and were very disappointed. The food was so-so, atmosphere bad, we were seated in the small room seeing the kitchen. I don't see any passion in the staff.

The food is very good and the service very good too :-)))))

I went to Nineteen with my children to have lunch. I was very disappointed with the quality of service. My son who is 7 years old ordered a main meal and dessert from the kids menu. We were told that they haven't got time to make the dessert. As a paying customer I found this unacceptable as this was midday and nowhere near closing time. Therfore, we decided to go elsewhere for our meal.Nineteen has the look and a comfortable atmosphere but poor service.

Don't know why this bar isn't busier - it's less pretentious than perfect blend with friendlier staff, cosy booths and a great menu. Just needs more buzz, so come and try it- streatham hill is more than just pb!

Went to the food festival where food was 50% offHad a girlie day out and we had a wonderful time. We did the come dine with me thingy.
