Best brunch in St Austall, with great views and friendly staff.....I came here to eat food, some people need to getting a grip and stop crying about WiFi and just enjoy the food

I came in and ordered some food then as I walked out side onto the balcony they told me I’m not allowed there as I ordered a takeaway but I had no option to chose either takeaway or eat in.. the staff then gave me a dirty looks.

The wife & I thought we would give Niles Cafe at Carclaze a visit, as we had heard so many that were pleased with it but sadly many that were not and found fault's. I must say that the staff were very helpful and professional , they were also very well mannered . The Cafe was very clean and comfortable and the tables were always kept clear of crockery and very clean. The food was really good, no fault there at all, except i think it was a bit over the top as far as prices were concerned, but the quality was very good. To finish off the view from the windows really made your stay welcome, then it was a typical Cornish view, so that was what made the day perfect. One other thing, for those people that had to moan about the place, they have one option, stay away and let others enjoy the atmosphere. Well done Niles Bakery.

Buisness meeting over coffee, no phone signal and after logging into wifi all parties were unable to use it. Avoid at all costs for any business out wifi ise

Like previous reviews, I had been recommend to visit and as we pass it several times a week, thought is was about time. First impression was that there was no atmosphere and no welcome. After finding a table, I went to the counter to order and waited ... and waited ... and waited!! No acknowledgement from any of the staff behind counter for at least 3 minutes!! This actually gave me time to look around. I would like to know when the hot food cabinet was cleaned last, as there was a lot of crumps and food debris, that I know was not generated from this mornings service, as it was only 9.20 in the morning!! Eventually, I was seen to be waiting and what looked like the 'Pot Washer' was told to take my order. Again, no mention of cutlery when ordering, so I needed to go back to the counter to ask!! In my previous world of employment, I was the national trainer for the most recognisable network of fuel stations. I was responsible for improving the 'Food on the Go' proposition and increasing the customer service, food hygiene, sales and overall performance across the country, which I am very pleased to say I achieved and acceded targets and developed over 250 members of staff. Niles Bakery - Please spend some time training your teams on making customers feel welcome and make sure there have everything they need to enjoy their visit. Please regularly clean the serving areas and don't ignore customers at the counter!

We dropped in here on a Rainey day for a quick bite and hot drink. Prices are fair and in line with what you expect to pay. There is a good variety of choice for both food and drinks. The staff were very nice and friendly.

Having stayed across the road at a hotel chain was glad to discover Niles Cafe and bakery. Great selection of eat in and take out. Puro organic coffee, full English etc. Very clean and accessible. Bought some saffron cake to bring home for the folks, and delicious bread rolls. Reasonably priced too. Would recommend

Excellent breakfast, value for money friendly staff great Cornish selection of food. Pasties excellent as usual.

The cafe has been fine, good breakfast. However, the service in the shop is appallingly slow!! Customers queuing, staff chatting, not good, if fact I gave up and went elsewhere....

A luke warm pasty and a roll that was returned as filling wasn't as asked for. It was also too loud inside. Won't be returning.

We went for lunch to this Bakery today . I have never seen such poor service the tables were full of dirty dishes. And the staff made no attempt to clean away and wipe tables down at all . And expected customers to actually eat off of dirty cluttered tables. The staff were stroking dogs and then serving the pasty’s with out washing their hands basic Hand hygiene. The pasty we ordered was over baked and Luke warm . Staff just didn’t care such a shame as it’s a great position for lunch . But was very disappointed and won’t be going there again or recommending it to any one .

My wife and I visited here twice . Wed been to the one on the main road a few times but this was our first visit Unfortunately both times weather was ansuskal But Tue food and drink was lovely . The staff were lovely too ! The view from the cafe is stunning mond . Best get early as it was very busy both days we went !!!

Visited this cafe as a group of 14 people. Organiser only managed to book when she finally spoke to the manager. Having said that, once it was sorted the staff were great. Well organised, friendly and very obliging. The scones served for the cream tea were huge, fresh and tasty. They also served a great ‘low gluten breakfast’, which looked very good. The cafe was very busy and the staff coped brilliantly. The group agreed that they would need ‘doggy bags’ for the next visit as 2 scones were very filling. Looks like this may be a ‘go to’ venue.

Came here today for a farewell get together for a friend. There were 14 of us - all ladies of a certain age 😉. The staff were amazing and coped with our orders very well. Mostly cream teas along with a few other orders. The food was beautiful and served by friendly smiling staff. We’ll be back - as soon as we can find another excuse! Thank you to Nile’s, Carclaze - you were brilliant!

DO NOT VISIT. Awfully rude staff. I arrived at 4:50 with my bother to grab a couple of pasty’s with the intention to sit on the balcony for 10 minutes before close. As I walked towards the door, I get yelled out and told “what the f*** are you doing?” As they wanted to close up early and leave. Due to her rudeness, I decided to stay until five to prove a point. I never got the lovey lady’s name. But she had black hair Middle Aged. I presume the team leader of the day. It was on the 5th September 2023. I won’t ever enter another Nile’s again due to this. Lost customer.

Everything was fine until i had a good look at my salad. Between the leaves there was black slime. I told a member of staff who said she would "tell them". No apology, no exchange, no refund? This dosn't leave a great impression. Having said that my 2 friends were happy but they didnt have salad. Nice view/location.

This is the second time we have been to the new cafe at Carclaze. Niles' food is always lovely, as are the cappucinos. However, the cafe is so noisy!! It's awful. You can hardly hear each other talk. Very loud, plus a radio/music thudding in the background. Definitely NOT the place to go if you want peaceful meal or drink. The staff are not unfriendly but do need to up their game with a smile or two. I know none of us really like to be at work but it's all part of the customer service. The toilets - one male, one female, one disabled. The female was engaged so I popped to the disabled - the lock didn't work. Back out to wait for the female to be free. Eventually it was, only to find it didn't flush... My husband also disappeared to the loo and whilst he was gone a girl came to whisk his plate and our side plates away, even though I was only half way through my meal. I really don't like this, makes you feel like they want you gone. The first time we went to the new cafe we sat outside. Yes, a fairly nice view of the sea, unless you happen to be sat behind the Niles banner which blocks it (well placed whoever did that). Also a lovely view of the roundabout and traffic, but not as noisy as inside the cafe. We won't be back. Back to Par Garden Centre for us with it's peaceful atmosphere and friendly staff!

Popped in for the first time to grab a couple of pasty’s with my son, the cafe/bakery itself was very clean, as it should be due to just opening. However the service from the young blonde girl serving was absolutely awful! Customer service at its worst, no communication, no smile, in fact I think I saw her role her eyes at one point, no thank you when I passed the cash over and no words when giving my change, it’s such a shame as all the other Nile’s in St Austell are excellent. Then my Dad came to st Austell to visit and sat in for some breakfast, he was greeted by very hostile moody staff, unwilling to help, he waited 40 minutes for a bacon sandwich and when asking how much longer it would be he had a man tell him it’s in the system, very rudely too! He refused to give his money back at first, when my dad said he had run out of time the man gave him a £5 note, which didn’t even cover the cost of the sandwich. Needless to say none of us will be returning and if you want service with a smile I suggest you use one of the other lovely cafes…….

New cafe, very nice modern spacious interior, easy access parking around the rear of the premises , an added bonus was the view of St Austell bay. Friendly staff, pleasant enough for a coffee n cake or a selection of pasties . Breakfast menu also.Selection of Rolls and Sandwiches.
