My worst pub experience. Instantly regretted walking in - a locals pub. Racially harassed my partner - the landlord did nothing to help. Came away feeling very threatened. Unless you know people in there - do not go in

Pub full of stupid and embarrassing people… this place is a disgrace… We weren’t welcome and been kicked out by the owner after I’ve had to fight with a very drunk customer harassing me and my girlfriend.

Pub absolutely stank!! It was like sewage, it smelt so unclean. If it wasn’t for the fact I was meeting friends I would have left immediately and was glad it was only a short stay. Such a shame that a really good pub has been allowed to go downhill to the extent it has.

Dropped in for a beer on the way into town and ended up staying for a few, it’s a decent local, service is good, prices are not bad

Fair priced, Great staff, great atmosphere & great pub...What you want in your local area. Would definitely be back.

Went into the Nightingale pub after rememberance service on the off chance as we hadnt booked a table the staff were really friendly and although quite busy we were shown to our table. I ordered a vegetarian roast and a beef roast which was really full of flavour nicely presented and extremely tasty. Waitresses were efficient and the atmosphere was good Good value for money and would return

A supposedly dog friendly pub but when our dinner arrived and my dog barked a few times because he was excited (he had been really well behaved up until this one point), the pub manager came up to us and told us that he would not tolerate barking in the pub because of his other customers and we should either take our dog out for a quick walk or would need to leave. I would understand this request if it was asked politely but he was seriously rude in both words and tone (in a way I have never experienced from any manager at any establishment) and acting like a complete bully. Also, the pub was extremely noisy anyway because the sports were on and our dog barking a few times cannot have seriously disturbed anyone. We were so upset at the way that we had been spoken too that we decided to leave. He said we would not need to pay for our dinner but we should pay for our drinks (which we had hardly drunk). When some customers sitting next to us said they were sorry we weren't able to finish eating our food and they would walk the dogs themselves if they could, the manager came up to us aggressively asking why we were stirring things up with other customers. Firstly, we had not approached that table to say anything about him and secondly I think this says more about his sensitivity (as on speaking to other people in the local area they have said they heard bad things about the management of the pub and a couple of other trip advisor reviews will attest to this). He was seriously intimidating and he literally squared up to me to make me feel small. When I left he stood there like a bouncer at the door, sarcastically telling me to have a nice day. I have never complained about pubs on trip advisor before but his behaviour really upset me and I found it incredibly embarrassing to be spoken to in such a way. I left with hardly any of my food touched and only a few sips of drink. I would avoid this place at all costs. He is not a pleasant man and I find it difficult to believe that he thought his behaviour was acceptable. I will never set foot back in that pub again and I would advise others not to either.

We came here for Sunday lunch. There were 2 serving staff in the restaurant. One was hopeless - completely untrained & no idea what ‘service’ involved. We asked for dessert menus sometime after our main course plates were removed - apparently to the complete surprise of the server. This server must be costing her employers a fortune ! The food was passable.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday roast here. The staff were very helpful and the food was really tasty and beautifully cooked. Good quantities including fab veg, not the often watery overcooked offerings but crisp bright lovely veg. Would highly recommend a visit.

Went for a Sunday roast this afternoon for a group of 8 with babies and children. We got a comfortable seating area with enough space for us all. The service was great and the waitresses were lovely. Roasts were all delish! We had chicken, pork and the nut roast. I think I've found my local fave. On another note I've been for a weekday spot of lunch too - and the food tasted fresh and the service was great then too.

The manager and staff were extremely rude. My food was watery and I asked to change it, the chef brought me out my substitute meal and was extremely rude and said there was nothing wrong with the original meal he had made me ( it was definitely below par!!) and was very unpleasant because I had asked to change it!! The manager was also very rude and unwelcoming and the bar staff were not any better, this previously family friendly pub has definitely gone downhill. What a disappointment!!

We went here as a family of five for a late Sunday (birthday) lunch. They managed to give us a table at very short notice, seated us in a nice corner of the restaurant where we had a bit more space (three small children). The pub was busy, the roasts were very good and plentiful portion-wise. Georgina, our server was great and looked after us really well. Reasonable prices too.

Went to the Nightingale on the Green Pub in wanstead with family an some friends. Was busy with a really good atmosphere bar staff were busy but efficient and friendly. Had a really good atmosphere with slot of very different people. We decided to eat whilst there and the food was extremely good the menu is varied and all the dishes we ordered were very nice. And reasonably priced. A good crowd good music and sports tv for the sports fans an all round brilliant night an would recommend

We had Sunday lunch here today As a party of 5 adults. We each had a different meal from the Sunday lunch menu and can honestly say we all enjoyed our meals. Service was very good. Our waitress, Georgina was very helpful and made us feel so welcome. Sam the barman made sure our drinks were always topped up! A very nice touch. The manager Danny and partner Lucy couldn’t do enough to make our lunch and first time here more special. We will most definitely go back and will try a midweek Lunch too. 10/10 for our the service and food! Thank you to all the staff x
