Happened to walk past and saw restaurant full of Chinese people eating, restaurant full, so had a take away, ordered crispy pork and rice. The pork was fabulous, the soy over the rice very tasty, haven’t eaten pork that good since Thailand. Will return.

Bad service. Waited for ages for our order to be taken. Food was cold and when sent back was microwaved. Extremely expensive for what it is. Not cheap.

I wanted Hong Kong food like i enjoy with my dad. I had honk ice tea, won ton soup, four meats and noodle soup and a red bean drink dessert. Roll me out a happy customer. Staff were polite and friendly, food was well cooked and not oily, drinks stole the show for me, an ice tea with good flavour. I think I'd go with 3 meats and rice next time so i can drench with soy sauce and get some chilli oil going.

Had a takeaway duck with rice for lunch. The taste was amazing but from the portion of duck I received 70% of it was bone and a large chunk of neck. Feel extremely ripped off! Chef must have seen me coming!

Unbelievably good Cantonese/HK food. An absolute hidden gem hiding in plain sight. The roast meats here are so good and worth a trip from far away! It was so good we got extra portions to take away and it was even better the next day. Amazing to find people passionate about good food in a city full of hipster rubbish and bland takeaways. If you come here you'll become a regular in no time. If you don't like the food here you don't know food.

I came in with my partner to get a takeaway and, as were both vegetarians, we ordered two portions of the soya chicken, expecting the meat to be made from the same ingredients as soya mince or soya chunks (textured vegetable protein). We took the food home and found we'd been given actual chicken instead, we'd paid £19 and couldn't eat the food. We tried to phone the restaurant but it had closed, so I took the food back the nest day, untouched, to explain the situation and get a refund. The staff laughed at our situation and uneaten food and refused to give a refund, saying it's 'chicken cooked in soy sauce' even though on the menu it's listed as 'soya chicken' not 'soy chicken'. Waste of money and time, food was wasted, and despite the problem being clear with the popularity of soya mince and soya meat substitutes, no effort was made to make any amends and I was instead laughed at after they'd taken £19 and served us food we couldn't eat. Disgusting service

We had our FIRST HK MEAL!! We went to the park and came back to city centre at evening time, then rushed into Nice Spice, focusing on HK style siu mei. Luckily it still opened, but most of the items sold out. We tried their Crispy Pork, Soy Sauce Chicken & Steamed Chicken with rice. The Crispy Pork was really awesome, super crispy!!!! The portion was big as well!! We loved it so much! (Cash only btw!!)

On a trip to Bristol for a couple of days, we happened to come across this eatery by pure chance and absolutely glad that we did. The set up of Nice Spice is a very simple but extremely tasty and excellent value establishment in the style of a Chinese diner. We both had set meals of double roast meat with rice and a drink - the total of which came to £22. I myself have eaten at many Chinese eateries, in London and HK as well as other UK cities (Birmingham and Liverpool) and I can honestly say Nice Spice ranks incredibly high on my list. As well as excellent food, the service was top notch. The young man was informative and really polite. It's such a shame that the Nice Spice is not opened on a Wednesday (the day I leave) as I would have brought food to take back to London otherwise. I definitely look forward to coming back here for another meal.

Ordered 2 take aways. Roast duck and crispy pork with rice. Great seasoning on them both. Recently was in Manchester China town and this meat was much better in taste and quality. Gravy on the rice and stir fried lettuce. The meat was cut with care. We had to pay cash.

Very disappointed the food. Order a noodle dish ,Fish balls taste awful and smell unpleasant. The previous review says about the bank transfer which I completely agree with BANK TRANSFER TO A PERSONAL ACCOUNT! Not sure they doing money laundry or wish to hide some of their revenue !

Born and grew up in HK so I can absolutely confirm this is super authentic roast meat rice! One of my little home away from homes. The portions are massive and staff super friendly - would recommend to anyone to try it :)

The duck was so delicious, better than you can get in London Chinatown, and better than even some in Hong Kong. The Char Siu was fantastic, my mum was so happy to have a taste of Hong Kong in England, so flavoursome and tender, the texture was just right! As well, the service was amazing the guys there were lovely :)

Not value for money. Paid 14pounds for mini slices of roast pork. Using a roast duck leg to cover bones underneath. Making the payment was the funniest part of the experience. Only accept cash or BANK TRANSFER. Feels like doing money laundry. Never again.

It was my first time in Bristol and I was just wandering around. I saw the advert for this delightful store that makes you feel like you've just stepped onto the Kalahari. It was a very welcoming store, really well stocked with all things food and drink related, as well as mementos and books. I could easily have spent all my money there but I had to keep restrained. I would actually visit Bristol again just to go to the store.

As undergraduate students who have recently come from India an year ago we struggled finding good Indian food in the UK. I come from Punjab and my friend from Maharashtra, We initially struggled finding good Indian food that we both liked. We tried our luck in London, Reading and Bristol for Indo-Chinese. But Lama is the closest we have come to that reminds us of food back home. Everytime we feel a bit home sick we just pay a visit. Absolutely recommend it. Must give it a try.

The best food by far, I have been coming for years and the food is unbeaten. Super friendly staff and a lovely little family owned business. Sadly the original owners have gone now and there's new management so I've not tried out their menu.
