Had one of the best seafood meals I’ve ever had. The scallops in particular stood out as sublime. Delicious cold champagne by the glass set off our attractive plate of oysters very well. Risotto was excellent. Service was very prompt even though the place was packed. My only criticism would be that they never seem to offer a chocolate dessert!

We were in the area for one night and our hosts recommended we tried this restaurant. It was amazing! You start with a selection of small plates, we tried the raw seabass, the salmon and the sardines and they were all very good. The main course, a big roasted John Dory was equally great. Nice service, and beautiful atmosphere. Will be back!

4 of us had starter nibbles and fab fishy spreads in pots followed by most of the small plate menu and the local whole fish of the day, which in our case was a brill. It was Brill indeed, all the food was delicious, especially the sea bass sashimi, cuttlefish & muscle stew and the roasted cauli with dukkah and chilli. The whole fish on the bone is the main event for me (nicely filleted at table by the pro waiter) but the small plates could happily stand up on their own if you didn't fancy the fish main course. WIth a decent bottle and a half of white plus coffees, the bill came to under £55 a head including service. Good value for what we had in my eyes. We will return.

We visited for the first time this weekend and loved it! We shared the scallops and prawns to start, then chose the sea bass to share with roast potatoes and green beans. We finished with a cheeseboard from the cheesemonger next door. The food was delicious, the service was great and we will be back.

We’ve been trying to go to this place for months. We finally managed to secure a reservation. It was worth the wait. This place is wonderful. My wife, who loves fish, described the meal as the best she’d ever had in the UK. Both the sea bass and lemon tart were particularly good but in fact everything was of a very high standard. There is also a wide selection of wines. Service was good too. Highly recommended. Reservations necessary.

This is a fantastic restaurant on Lordship Lane, next door to the fishmongers. What quality. Difficult to single out any one dish but the prawns and oysters were great and the latter in particular very fresh. Two of us also shared a turbot that was moist and tasty and filleted for us. A good wine list with some suggestions that were reasonably priced. Only two serving staff but although fairly busy they were attentive and we didn’t wait particularly long for anything. Also very pleasant and friendly. A real treat. We shall come again.

I’ve been to Moxon’s fishmonger many times but never tried the restaurant. Food was great, creative dishes and everything worked well. Between 2 people we had 6 small plates and we were very full. Favourite was seabass sashimi with apple. Restaurant was packed on a Thursday evening so the atmosphere was great. Another similar restaurant is prawn on the lawn in Islington which is also a fishmonger and this was as good and bit better value. 6 dishes, caraf of wine and tip came to £87. Definately no need to trek to North London anymore!

I ate here about a year ago and thought the food was disappointing. So I was a little worried about this visit, but I didn’t need to be! The food has vastly improved. I had the sharing plates with two friends. We had three delicious oysters each, and then a further six small shared plates plus 1 serving of chips, which was about right. The black squid ink risotto, scallops, and sea bream sashimi, were all outstanding. The chips are also pretty amazing - ask for their Mayo, it is lemony and very good! The restaurant is a really pleasant, comfortable environment and good if you want to be able to talk without shouting over loud music or being blinded by insensitive lighting. The only criticism I have is that they were very, very slow to come and take a drinks order, and even after we had ordered a bottle of Prosecco, I think it was about 10 minutes before we actually got a glass. We were probably there for 25 minutes before we got to drink anything. That is just too slow. Otherwise, all good and I would return.

Delightful Fish Friday lunch - top notch... In the heart of East Dulwich's Lordship Lane's offerings and right 'next door' (geddit) to the fishmongers it's twinned with is this charming fish eatery. A simple menu is starters, small pates to mix and match, large fish dishes to share, sides and desserts. All presented pretty much on one side of A4 and a specials blackboard... and yet you're still spoilt for choice Mackerel, haddock, prawns, cod burgers, pate, scallops and more; we snuck a peak at whatever was showing up on the other tables. It's a small place, but we managed a walk-in for Friday lunch at 1pm. Staff were lovely - attentive, helpful, but not in your face. We ended up with the daily special of battered cod fish, chips and mushy peas. With fish roe tartare sauce. Ooooh it hit the spot - batter was golden and crunchy, cod 'meaty', chips cool and the mushy peas yummy - contained some secret ingredient that the waitress refused to share! When it arrived the portion looked just ok, but we polished off most of it and were stuffed. They had a good wine and drinks selection too, although we didn't indulge. Going back, back, back...

I regularly eat here with my friends, the fish is spot on 95% of the time (great prawns yesterday) and it has a good wine selection. They usually have one vegetarian small plate that is outstanding! They need to make sure that this is always good, because when it isn’t it is a disappointment. Could do with employing one more front of house as the two on yesterday looked rushed and stressed. They were both charming and lovely, but too much work for the two of them. Taken one star off for disappointing cauliflower dish - usually it is amazing.

Maybe this was an off night but we were really disappointed. Having spent a week in Greece eating creative dishes with fresh fish, we were hopeful about this. But the food was tasteless and the service poor. Yes the waitresses were helpful but there was some kind of confusion in our order so 3 dishes arrived slowly one by one and the last three finally came all together once we had complained but by which time we were starving! In fairness they took off the price of our wine (£9.50 for a small glass of sauvignon seems a bit exhorbitant) but we won't go again. Sorry.

First of all the hospitality is amazing. Ossie is fantastic host and an imaginative beverage creator and advisor. The head chef (Paul I think) and his sous Jack are a wonderful team. Small thoroughly thoughtful dishes. Real talented chefs plates paired with great wine and cocktails. Lemon tarts amazing. The scallop dish is astronomical. Best restaurant on Lordship Lane. Worth the visit.
