Had a recent Christmas Night Out here was a brilliant night! Food was unreal! Disco night was great fun! Staff lovely too x

Came here for a meal from the Christmas menu and was not disappointed! The food was incredible, bar/waiting staff all very polite and helpful and the service was quick. Food tasted incredible the meat on my turkey dinner and my girlfriend’s beef daube was cooked to perfection and there was plenty of it! Would 100% visit again and recommend to anybody in the area.

Excellent quality food and workmanship

Lovely old style horseshoe bar serving 1 sometimes 2 cask ales. Lounge Bar serves great meals. Steak pie and Fish n chips are particularly good.

This is my third or fourth time here in the last few months. The food is excellent with generous portions. Girls serving are friendly and easy to talk to. Highly recommended to stop for lunch or dinner even if your just passing through this village. Plenty parking at the rear of the pub as well.

We have dined at this restaurant 4 times over the last few weeks and its excellent, great food, great service and a friendly atmosphere, also need to give the bar a mention for a great selection of drinks.

Had one of the best steaks ever on Saturday, perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. Incredible onion rings too. Everything was perfect many thanks for a superb meal and evening.

We were in the area and thought we would give it a try, and I am very glad we did. The staff are very friendly and recommended one of the best Sunday roasts I've ever had. Everything was of outstanding quality and the portions were incredibly generous, and with first class service to boot. I'll definitely be back!

Great Food, massive portions and presented well, also tasted awesome. Service was fast, efficient and friendly. The waitress was also super great with our toddler. Looking forward to returning here, next time with. larger appetite.

This is one of the greatest dining experiences I've had. Anywhere. On vacation with my family in Scottland. First place we ate after landing. Went out of our way 40 minutes to eat here again on our last night. Just as wonderful. Do everything to come and dine here. Exceptional food service and atmosphere.

Stopped off with the family en route home. What an excellent pub. Spotlessly clean great atmosphere for a Saturday afternoon mixed bunch of clientele they seem to cater for everyone. Would recommend a visit

A great local. All members of staff were lovely to chat to. We didn't have food but it smelt amazing. Fab function room for parties.

When you go to a restaurant, for something to eat, you don't want to ask someone to take your order, or salt and pepper for your bread, or your tea or cola. You would think the staff would know what the soup is each day or that there is something off the menu, when you have waited so long to tell her! It is only commonsense when you are serving meals. The food when it did come out was very good, tasty and hot, I would go back for the food,but the service...... If they even acknowledged me being there, She saw me come in and so did the manager and they both ignored me until a customer had to say I was there. disappointing

We arrived after lunch, but the kitchen is closed Monday to Wednesday anyway. Friendly and welcoming staff, Dog-friendly and nicely furnished. Coffee okay by UK standards. Mens' toilets are clean but broken.

This was our first visit and we will be back. The food was delicious. Thank you Karen and team.

Place is getting alot better definitely had work done but main bar area needs updated still. Some events or something needed during the week. But is a proper pub and a great village

Stopped off here after a day at Conifox Adventure Park as we'd seen it on our way in and it was close. Service was great, lovely staff and nicely decorated restaurant area. Food was really fantastic - we all loved everything we ordered!

Elderly lady behind the bar went out of her way to blatantly ignore me in favour of the village regulars last Saturday. Wouldn't be back in a hurry.

Had a function with the newliston arms, Karen was so helpful and friendly, the food for the buffet was amazing, got rave reviews from all our guests too. Great place and great staff.

I went here for dinner here with my mum dad and son. I definitely wouldn’t go back although the servers are trying their best it’s a shame but the food is shocking I wouldn’t be surprised if I get food poising after visiting. Everything being either under or over done. Would of been better at home with micro meal

It's a lovely pub, and now is having live music at the weekend so there's a great choice, it's large and spacious friendly staff..

Wir waren mit einer grösseren Reisegruppe - wohl aber im Voraus angemeldet - hier, die Karte lautete wie abgebildet, lediglich die Pastete war als Vorspeise tatsächlich vorhanden, als Hauptgericht gab es nur die Auswahl zwischen Fisch und dem Steak Pie, eine vegetarische Variante fehlte damit gänzlich. Die "Kellner" rannten kopflos hin und her, man hatte den Eindruck, die Kinder aus dem Dorf für den Abend rekrutiert zu haben. Definitiv nicht für Gruppen zu empfehlen.

Stopped in the pub to meet some friends for a mid-afternoon drink. It was lovely and welcoming, however we received a parking fine for using what appears to be the pub carpark behind the pub. I sent a few emails and a phone asking for support/clarity but never received a reply. So a lovely pub, but don't park out back or it could be a more expensive visit than you anticipated.

Had a lovely evening in Newliston Arms. Food nice and staff very friendly. They had a fantastic singer on too which was great. Lovely atmosphere overall. Definitely be back.

Limited experience of this place but my wife and I called in for lunch. There was a good choice on the menu but we just had the lentil soup which was very tasty, served with warm bread roll, by friendly and helpful staff. Reasonably priced; we would certainly call in again if in the area.

Horrible smell in the pub and very dark inside. Baked tattie not bad, cheesecake I didn't like, strange base to it. Husband had a burger which he enjoyed, not sure i would return.

Should be such a great local with its good selection of beers and friendly staff but something is seriously wrong for a bar this good to be ignored by the residents of Kirkliston. I suggest the owners look at pricing as this place is ludicrous!

Staff lovely and beer good, always a couple of guest ales on. It could be so much better though but needs some investment and creativity. Food by Shonagh is lovely, all freshly made and home cooked. Big function suite lies empty most of the time. A pool table and jukebox would be ideal.
