We ordered summer spring rolls, stir-fry bokchoi and 2 spicy noodle dishes beef and fish cake. The spicy beef noodles we asked for no coriander and still they jampacked it with coriander. The summer rolls were flavourless and the sauce was too sweet. The fish cake noodles was also flavourless, tasted of watered down fish broth. The stir-fry bokchoi was ok but £16 nowhere near. As well as that we asked for 2 tap waters at the start of the meal and had never received them. Would not recommend stay away from this place

It’s over price. We had been charged £15.5 for 1 portion boiled broccoli. I ordered egg fried rice but after it came out with some like curry sauce mixed with that. I spoke to the manager that I want normal egg fried rice but she refused to change that and i end up to pay double for that egg fried rice which was cost £33 ( they charged £16.5 for 1 portion egg fried rice). The service was bad, they kept missing or mistake with the order. Not recommended.

Prices align with being in edinurgh and rents being high it was worth it. Thanks! Theres park to pay right across the street if you need a place to put your car btw.

This restaurant is located close to Haymarket Station and serves authentic Vietnamese cuisine. There were hardly any customers in the store after 1pm on weekdays, but it was crowded in the evening. There were various types of pho such as beef, shrimp, and chicken, but I ordered the chicken pho (14.5 lbs.). I was surprised that the rice bowl arrived in just 5 minutes after I ordered it. I guess it takes less time to boil pho. The taste was delicious and the quantity was large.

I live locally, the portion has been smaller recently. This time I ordered drinks and they said they didn’t have ice, I agreed, but when the drinks came to me I noticed they were only 2/3 of a normal portion, the waiter said they had no ice so it’s going to be a smaller portion. -which makes no sense The next thing I knew was that the service charge alone for that one meal was £5 …

Went for the basic Pho with raw beef. The portion was good and was served very quick. The flavor of the broth was good and the meat was tender. The type of basil wasn't the best but maybe that's common here. For an extra kick, recommend adding the pickled garlic from the jars. They are amazing but use sparingly

Some dishes I like more than others. My favourite is the prawn and chicken crispy pancake. It’s a starter but a good portion. All the food choices have good portion sizes . I tried the fried rice this time. Was really tasty too. The staff are generally very friendly but not overly fussing. We arrived to Edinburgh on a cold rainy day. Nothing could beat a hot bowl of Pho. Plus I didn’t feel like going out for dinner, so I browsed for Viet restaurants on UberEats. Pho Viet was the first restaurant popped up. I was very hangry at the time, so I didn’t bother to look at reviews on Yelp or Google reviews before placed my order. For main dishes, we ordered Pho Bo, Bun Bo Hue, Com Suon Nuong, and Bun Thit Nuong. For drinks/desserts, we got the Thai Tea, Vietnamese iced coffee, and Vietnamese Rainbow Drink ( Che Ba Mau). Our food was delivered 40 minutes later. When I opened the Pho container, it smelled so so good. Unfortunately, the broth wasn’t really hot as I normally wanted. I understood that I shouldn’t have expected too much because the Uber guy delivered food for us on a bicycle in this freezing cold weather. I was lazy to heat up the broth so I just ate like that. The broth was delicious even though it wasn’t smoking hot. I thought I had a good Pho bowl in London, but I was wrong. Pho Bo at Pho Viet restaurant was the bomb!!! I was born and raised in Vietnam so I set a pretty high bar for Viet food. In my opinion, the taste of Pho Bo here was authentic. The meat was tender and flavorful. It came with a lot of herbs and veggies. I was really surprised/happy that I could eat a very good Pho bowl in Scotland. The Bun Bo Hue broth was the same as Pho broth, except the noodle was Bun Bo Hue kind, and it came with a scoop of shrimp chili oil paste ( sa te tom). I would say it wasn’t cooked traditionally but it was still good. Basically, it was a Spicy version of Pho Bo lol I loved the taste of the meat in Com Tam Thit Nuong and Bun Thit Nuong. For these 2 dishes, the portions were kinda small compared to the price. Both Vietnamese iced coffee and Thai tea was good 10/10. The Che Ba Mau was alright, nothing special. You can skip this dessert but definitely get the Viet coffee or Thai milk tea. Overall, I loved the food here. They have a very good menu. It was a bit pricey but an average meal in Scotland costs between £15-20 per person so it seemed standard here. I would suggest to skip the starters and get the entrée for a better deal. Pho Viet is a nice change of pace from Scottish food. Highly recommend!

Service was a bit cold upon arrival and inconsistent throughout. Atmosphere was lovely and cozy. Good temperature and distance between tables. Beef in betel leaf tasted nice but texture was very dry and crumbly. Fried pork and shrimp spring rolls were excellent. The bun bo hue with raw beef was not spicy at all and tasted very bland but was a generous portion. Was hardly anything like the traditional style in my opinion. I would highly recommend both the roast duck and braised pork and caramel sauce. Both dishes were delicious. The special Vietnamese coffee is not to be missed to top off your meal.

Pho is good and worth it although it is a little pricey. However, I wouldn't recommend you to order starters and desserts as they are overpriced for such a small portion that they serve. For example, BBQ Quail Vietnamese Style costs £11.50 but you only get two pieces of Quail legs, which are chopped into half, so basically a total of 4 pieces. However, they are full of bones so you hardly get to eat any meat. Vietnamese Rainbow costs £5. If you see the menu, you can see that the dessert cup is filled to the brim. However, what you actually get is 3/4 filled cup with a lot of ice flakes in it. Hence, they are absolutely not worth the price. You won't be getting what you will be paying for. You will be much better off ordering decent and cheaper desserts or starters somewhere else. Even some curries are cheaper than the starters/appetisers in this restaurant.

Lemongrass pork with rice hit the SPOT! The meat was soft, tender, and juicy, just as I remembered eating this dish years ago (in another country). The side vinegar and chili sauce was sweet. Don't be fooled by the chilis in it; there was no spice to it at all. Lather the meat in the sauce and eat it with the vegetables, rice, and egg for an unforgettable experience. I tried Thai milk tea. Being from Thailand, I had high expectations for it and boy, did they deliver. The drink was sweet, helped by the thick, heavy cream mixed well with the brewed tea. Tastes just like home! To date, no Thai milk tea has some close to Pho Viet's one and I have tried many. For anyone craving Thai milk tea, this place is the real deal. I'd definitely return to Pho Viet again. Hands down, one of the best Vietnamese restaurants I have tried to date!

Tasty salt pepper squid, the best I’ve had for a while - crispy and succulent. Beef and beef meatball pho was aromatic. Beef wasn’t the best/ most refined cuts I’ve ever had but I’m comparing from South London Vietnamese restaurants who cater for local Vietnamese community. Not sure id have the meatballs again. But overall tasty and exceeded expectations. Was about double the piece I am used to paying in London - £8-11 for a starter and £13-17 for a main is quite steep I think. Decor ok although lighting a harsh yellow at night. 2 niggles - why not give a proper Asian soup spoon (like a little ladle) - was hard to eat the soup. And no chill oil/ garlic offered at the table. It felt quite basic canteen ambiance but for the price I’d usually be expecting something a bit more refined food and decor wise. But overall food was good and glad to have found this near to Haymarket.
