Extremely tasty food with really nice staff. I would recommend all the dishes. The inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated and the overall restaurant is really cool!

I recently dined at Vietname House Restaurant, and it was a fantastic experience. The pho was aromatic, with a savory broth and tender meat, making each bite comforting. The rice was perfectly cooked, fluffy, and paired well with the dishes. The salad was fresh, crisp, and a great balance to the savory flavors. Service was friendly and quick. Overall, it’s a great spot for a satisfying, authentic Vietnamese meal!

Food was covered in uncooked garlic, too much to be enjoyable. Tofu dish was not very tasty and quite boring for a main dish. Had to ask for water several times as the waitress kept forgetting it.

I have visited this place on and off over a 15 year period when in Edinburgh. It never dissapoints. The Pho noodles / soup is devine.

Despite being quite busy, the staff went out of their way to accommodate us, which set the tone for an excellent evening. The service was warm and attentive, and the food was absolutely delightful. Just coincidence I found this place, cozy and warm atmosphere. I ordered beef Pho, and Che ba mau, really delicious and the owner is so friendly and helpful. If you're craving authentic Vietnamese cuisine in Edinburgh, this restaurant is a must-visit!

This was the worst Vietnamese food I have ever had. I have cooked Vietnamese food in Australia as a chef. Travelled Vietnam for a month twice and I can whole heatedly say I was robbed. Bo LA lot, so dry. The bahn xeo was okay. Not great but the most edible. Pho, over cooked noodles with no texture. The stock was so flat. Had no depth. Corners had been cut and the beef again, very dry. I understand Scottish people don't like heat but doesn't mean you need to remove all flavour. I was recommended because I said I missed pho and was excited to see some of my favorite dishes. The chef can't cook or doesn't care. Seriously all the beef was like jerky. Have some pride and maybe even try putting your meat in some brine. 66 pound for a restaurant so appalling I reckon instant pho would be better.

What a great place without a doubt! The food is delicious and authentic, it restores your soul, the tea is spectacular. I would return a thousand times!

Ordered a few things a couple of meals and a dessert. Coffee good, ice tea good. 2 of us. Bill came to 100 and pence. Felt high for what we received. We are hearty eaters. Great experience, but probably not the best fit. I would recommend it.

People often think that eating at home is healthier. I completely agreed with this point of view until I visited Vietnam House restaurant. When I started college, cooking took up a lot of my time. When the wonderful time came, I realized that Vietnam House is the best restaurant I have ever known. Vietnam House is located in a small alley near my school. During a book-shopping trip across the alley, I accidentally turned into a restaurant for lunch. It is decorated in a warm classic style with ocher tones. The wall with plants and dried flowers makes me very comfortable. The restaurant has a wall made of glass. That is why the store is always filled with warm natural light. All the food and drinks here are delicious and it is also reasonably priced for students. I usually visit this place 2 to 3 times a week for lunch, to study, or read a book. The hostess and service staff were very kind. After many appearances at the restaurant, we got to know each other and became friends. Try to visit this restaurant if you have time. I really like the way they present this dish creatively, so I would highly recommend this dish to all my friends and family. It is always a pleasure to enjoy this dish at Vietnam House Restaurant.

Dined here several times in a group of 8-10 when German friends visit. There is a 50\50 mix of Vegetatians & meat eaters. I’d say it can hold 40-50 patrons split into 2 areas & is generally quite full. Staff are efficient, very friendly & not overbearing. Even in a large group the food arrives hot & quickly. Music is modern & at a good volume to allow easy conversation to be heard and generally, lots of art and lanterns give this a very cosy & relaxed dining experience. We had a mix of curries, stir fry, duck, & pho dishes. Starters were mainly tofu summer and spring rolls a tofu pancake & a prawn pancake. A good selection of traditional teas & coffees & soft drinks are on offer as well as 3 traditional types of desserts. The food wasn’t bad. However with so many Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese places to dine now, and also with nice veggie & vegan choices, this place isn’t as good as it once was. All the starters lacked flavour, they were very fresh but no herbs or spices. We tried heavily on dipping sauces. The seafood pho with vermicelli-a good amount of seafood but no veg & the noodles were very over cooked. The broth, had a little warmth spice wise but little flavour. It was clean (clear) but extreme salty. There are many dishes that can be made with a choice of prawn, chicken or tofu but the tofu cubes were small & shrivelled. 1 guest had the black rice & yogurt dessert & was very underwhelmed. The yogurt drowned out any taste of the sticky black rice. Teas & traditional coffees didn’t stand out very much either. Including service charges for a large group this worked out £33 each I think they may have a loyal customer base as I personally wouldn’t return for the food. I hope the food improves/has a revamp as it’s a lovely place for our large group to go

Incuriositi dal provare una cucina tanto particolare come quella vietnamita e data la comoda posizione su Haymarket, abbiamo tentato di cenare al Vietnam House Restaurant subito la prima sera ma il locale, essendo piuttosto piccolo, non ha potuto accoglierci senza prenotazione . Abbiamo mangiato qui la sera successiva. Ottima la Banh xeo e il Buon cha Gio Thit Nuong ma super il Pho ovvero una zuppa con Noodle saporita e ricca. Abbiamo pasteggiato con un te suggerito. Dined solo at a Vietnamese restaurant. Had their Stir-Fried Lemongrass Chili with Sweet Chili Sauce, served with rice, along with a colorful rainbow dessert. The dish was flavorful, with a perfect balance of spicy and sweet, and the lemongrass added a nice aromatic touch. The portion was generous, and the rice complemented the dish well. Todos coincidimos en que los platos eran insípidos y, en el caso de la opción de comida callejera y ensalada con pollo y rollitos de primavera, muy secos. La salsa para mojar era sosa. La ensalada comprendía un poco de repollo rallado con unos cuantos soportes de zanahoria y una fronda de cilantro. La carne temblorosa era marginalmente mejor, pero no muy emocionante. Los precios son excesivos y cuando hicimos alguna investigación encontramos restaurantes mucho más baratos. Como nota positiva, las porciones fueron generosas. P

Beef stew was absolutely outstanding, felt like I was back in Vietnam! Beautiful taste and flavour, and good portion size too! Staff were extremely kind and helpful....was unsure whether to get beef stew or chicken curry so the waiter suggested the beef, and when I asked about what tea to get, he brought out samples of tea leaves so I could decide for myself (Jasmine tea was great). Highly highly recommend :)

Sublime Vietnamese restaurant to come for dinner, since all the dishes have great flavor and the essence of Vietnamese food. Additionally, the waiters were extremely nice and even tried to speak Spanish with us, which was very appreciated. If I ever return to Edinburgh, I'm sure I'll eat here again.

I had a lovely dinner while I was there, the whole restaurant was packed. The ladies working there were efficient and friendly. Very convenient and near my hotel in the Haymarket area. Their food was beyond what I expected, it was so tasty and fresh. Their iced milo too was so creamy and perfectly made, I had to order another one. The ambiance too is very cute, ties in nicely with the Vietnamese cuisine. The dishes are very expensive though, that is the only negative point, but it was a great time.

Missing Item, No Refund My girlfriend and I recently ordered takeout from Vietnam House Restaurant. Unfortunately, when we got home, we discovered that the drink was missing from the order. After calling multiple times on the issue, The restaurant provided us with an email address to handle the refund, but after sending the email, we never received a response or the refund. On a side note: the pho soup used to be one of our favorites, it is now bland compared to what it used to be.

We went here twice for dinner during our short stay in Edinburgh as our accommodation was nearby but we would absolutely go out of our way to come back here again. The food is delicious, fresh and comes quickly. The restaurant is welcoming and cosy and Melvin was an attentive and very friendly server. Highly recommend the summer rolls and fish cake bun bo hue but all the food around us looked really tasty and we look forward to trying more of the menu next time.

Disappointed. We came to check it out because of high ratings. Unfortunately neither the pho nor the summer rolls delivered well. The rolls were lacking in herbs and flavors. The digging sauce was very thick and had little peanut flavor except for the crushed peanuts sprinkled on top. The pho soup was clean tasting though the beef was a tab overcooked in my opinion.

Food, service and friendly staff made our lunch a special experience. Located off the beaten track but what a find. We will be back.
