New World Chinese Takeaway in Norwich

Many of the older reviews on here contribute to a disappointing 3 rating. I order regularly for my mother. The food and the delivery service is now excellent. Highly recommended.

Ordered for Mother’s Day. The website said 50 mins for delivery, but 2 hours & 3 phone calls later our food finally arrived. The food was nice but not worth the wait. Won’t be using them again.

This is by far the best takeaway ever I loved it so much the duck was crispy and tender on the inside. The place is decorated with a very nice taste. The service was great and the staff lovely.

I have been going to New World for 38 years and it is the best Chinese in Norwich. I order my food at 5pm when they open and we are guaranteed to be delivered by 5:20pm. Never had to wait any longer. Food is always piping hot and extremely well cooked and delicious.

I ordered a meal for four at about half five and was told it would be an hour and an hour and a half later the order arrives and is luke warm one of the people eating said they needed to add extra soy sauce and spice to their dish as it was bland but over all it was decent

Very tasty and fresh. Children love it. Big meal for reasonable price. Friendly staff and quick collection. Will go again definitely.

Disgusting. Chicken Curry. VERY few pieces of chicken & it was slimy. Just a very odd taste of food. Very disappointing. Had to wait well over 40 just for that. Really, take you’re money elsewhere.

Just ordered online they confirmed my order I've now been waiting 2 hours. phoned them up asking if my order would be long then got told my order isint on the system and he argued that point strongly and told me he can't do nothing about it and I have to speak to someone online? Even though the money has been taken from my account from there website!

What is the point in pre ordering a meal..to be given a delivery slot...to have to call to check where your order is half an hour late???1st and last time I'll use this Chinese...

Nice food but the service and delivery time is awful, we often wait over 2.5 hours for a delivery but won’t be anymore as we’ve had enough now. Time to find somewhere else.

Order from here every single week vis the Bigfoodie app. And EVERY SINGLE time we have to chase them up. The app states an hour before delivery every week we wait 2 hours. They don’t care regarding their poor service .. I’ve given them enough chances I’ll be going elsewhere from now on !

Mixed starters - mini spring rolls had virtually no filling, chicken balls had a big piece of processed chicken surrounded by thick batter, I’ve never known a Chinese to make seaweed taste so bad, the sweet and sour sauce was the worst I’ve ever tried. Main course - deep fried beef with ok sauce, it was just ok, definitely wouldn’t order again.

Ordered a takeaway from here via the 'bigfoodie' app. Ordered at 5.05pm and tracked my food on the app. The tracking app remained on 'cooking food' until around 6.30pm. Upon calling the restaurant and chatting to someone on the live chat I got told the food was here and just waiting for a driver, I got told this twice. My food didn't turn up until around 6.50 which is almost 2 hours after I ordered it. Food was warm and tasted average but wouldn't order from there again. Waited far too long for it.

The food and service we receive is fantastic from order to delivery bearing in mind we live 9 miles away is under 25 minutes Great service great food

Still struggling to find theeeeee Chinese I have been looking for - I just find the Chinese restaurants and take aways in Norwich are too westernised i.e. sauces either runny or too greasy. Am going to try this again as was ordering with a friend and sharing dishes and not the ones I would go for and some of the reviews I have read have been completely opposite to what I thought.

He notado algunas críticas negativas aquí, así que solo pensé en agregar lo que hice de este lugar. Mi familia y yo hemos usado esto durante años, siempre a tiempo y siempre a un precio razonable, el pollo al curry es uno de los mejores en el área en mi opinión. Vale la pena intentarlo, supongo.

Over 90 mins for delivery and got bought cold food and only live 300 yards from establishment. ..never ordering again

I ordered a mixed vegetable chow mein. It came in a small container. It was burnt noodles, onions, peas and cucumber! No broccoli or carrots. It was completely dry and inedible. I called the restaurant to ask them if they had forgotten to add soy / oyster sauce and they said that’s how they cook it, totally dry. Also ordered king prawns in batter. It was thick burnt batter and very little prawn. It came in a little paper bag, rather than plastic container to keep it warm. And no sauce with it. This was the worst Chinese meal I have ever come across and it all went in the bin. The delivery guy was polite and deserved his tip. But the chef... shocking!

Having been over charged last time. I ordered again and the guy was quite shirty with me for confirming the price with him. Ordered a quarter crispy aromatic duck and pancakes. From the new world before change of ownership I would of had a ton of duck however this barely filled 2 pancakes. The chicken balls were average, rice was dried up. A shame as we’ve been a loyal customer for over 5 years but lately they have disappointed time and time again. Won’t be returning this time!

Warning: think it's changed ownership. Phoned ahead as always, this time no special fried rice, no king prawns. Best avoided now ! £10 out of pocket, shan't go back. Plenty other better places. Shame as used to be v good,

hay un nuevo mundo chino para llevar en aylsham road norwich y otro nuevo mundo en brundall. El de Brundall es muy bueno, pero no puedo hablar por el otro. ¿Puedo sugerirle a alguien de tripadvisor que lo resuelva ya que los listados son obviamente confusos? el que está en la calle Aylsham obviamente no está "en una aldea" ni en brundall

When I am down in Norwich visiting, I regularly use this take away. You get large portions at a reasonable price and I have never had a bad one yet. The staff are friendly and they also do deliveries. What more could you ask for!

I live in the village and would love to use this regularly. But despite the friendly staff and prompt serve, the food itself is terrible. Every dish is covered in the same generic, salty, gloopy sauce. So disappointing.

We use this Take away fairly regularly. Have the food delivered,delivery people always presentable and polite,the food arrives on time and is always hot and of good quality,never had a bad one yet,Highly Recommend this place

These guys never let you down ! Always good and always timely, the prices are very good and a very friendly helpful telephone service

Just recently their service has gone downhill. A young girl works there on a saturday night with a face like a smacked back side , also they refused to give my husband half portions recently. I have had my order given out wrong more than once but the thing that annoyed me most recently was when they left the phone off the hook on purpose, when they weren't even that busy.

We order from this place pretty regularly. Usually have home delivery which arrives within 40-45 mins,food is always hot and delicous.Friendly staff on the phone , and polite and friendly delivery person,reccomend this place highly,not had a bad meal yet.

We have a takeaway from here every Saturday, and food is always good. Friendly lady in kitchen she knows me by now . Best to phone first and place your order.

If there was a negative button on here I would have used it. One and half hour for an order to be delivered 4 miles. Food was so cold when it finally arrived my sons chow mien tipped out in one lump as the bottom had set and the curry sauce could stand up as it had set it the plastic tub. £50.00 of food and most went in the bin.

Food was delivered to wrong house.had to call to correct with food over an hour late. Prawn crackers thrown in but no sincere apology. Driver said there was a problem in communications. Again awkward at door. Disappointed and ruined the evening , just caused stress.
