Ken Tong in Norwich

Twice in two weeks I have gone in to order and each time they have given us the wrong order which I have only found out once I had returned home! We have had to return to ask for our correct order - Prawn balls instead of Chicken Balls , Peking ribs instead of Peking Chicken and on second occasion Pork Balls instead of Chicken Balls. Not once did they apologise! We have been using Ken Tong’s for over 15 years. The food is usually good.

Whenever I order for collection I get quoted a pick up time but it’s never ready…at least 15 min wait once there…I’m sure they only cook it once paid 😡

Wow, had the chicken vindaloo and the gyros wow amazing! would recommend but the housing above smokes too much weed. Thanks - Joseph

Take away food was lovely fresh and hot on getting it plated up.Originally we ordered it to be delivered but they only had one driver working so we collected it.

Been using this place for 6 years, always been extremely happy with the food. Tonight was the worst Chinese meal I’ve ever had, food was bland, sauces were runny. We had to throw most of it out. These days a takeaway isn’t a cheap option, but we thought Ken Tong may be a little pricey, but we know we would enjoy it. I’ll be honest, takeaway prices have gone through the roof & I understand why, but please, if you are going to charge a premium, deliver premium products. Never going back, such a shame. Please note they only mentioned the pricing, which I wasn’t overly concerned about. Not once was the quality of the food mentioned, my main complaint. It seems they are much more concerned about competitive pricing than high standards & customer service. Enough said.

Best chinese in Norwich, super quick and the food is amazing. Best prices and selection and get free prawn crackers over a certain order amount unlike other places. Highly recommend if you are around the area.

Rice missing from order, food stone cold, rang them up, all they said was nothing they could do about it no apology nothing will not use again, waste of good money

Made an order,asked for small portion of beef chow mein but got sent a large chicken chow mein in error,even charged us for there error,called up and was very rude,wont be got back again!!

Food ordered- delivered after 45 mins. A dish was missing, I rang to ask for this to be brought. The man on the phone told me, I can add to the next order, rather than wait now. I said no, as it was someone’s dinner, he said they were busy and he will write it down and pass it on. 2hrs later still missing food. A real shame.

Absolutely superb food, everything was hot and extremely tasty, it was fresh and delivered on time, many thanks, keep it up folks, top draw.

This is my go-to Chinese, everything is perfect! the food portion sizing is great, the prices are great, the food quality is amazinggg!! The delivery is always relatively quick and they are always friendly too. There is not one bad thing I can think of about this place! I’ve tried all the Chinese places in Norwich and this is the absolute best without a doubt!

The lady behind the counter was very friendly and helpfully explained some things about the dishes and advised us that they could be made without chilli's as I can not handle them. So we had a very nice meal which was reasonably priced and the portions were very big.

we’ve recently moved to Rackheath and this was the second Chinese food takeaway we had tried and wow, it was honestly the best we’ve ever had! Tasted fresh and it looked great too. Definitely using again, and the delivery was 30 minutes earlier than stated which was a plus 👌 £30 spent and had way to much food for us both to finish

The best Chinese delivery place in Norwich by far. Reasonable prices, reasonable delivery times and lovely food. Definitely our go-to for a lovely takeaway, and we've gotten our family and friends hooked too!

One star for not sorting your opening times out properly on google. Wasted journey. Says your open on Monday. But your closed. And closed on a Tuesday, but you say your open. Sort times out.

Very disappointed…was highly recommended to me so ordered delivery this evening but part of my order was missing ..had to wait 30 minutes for it to be delivered …completely ruined my meal as rest of food was cold ! Not a good start with a new customer and only got a ‘sorry’ !

Always tasty and delivery is quick

Absolutely fed up with this place, three times this year we driven here to find they're bloody closed, as normal they never pick the phone up, so waste of time trying to ring before driving the 10 mile round trip, is it too bloody hard to post on your Web page or leave a message on your phone that would allow people to know you're shut yet again.

My absolute favourite Chinese and trust me, I’ve tried a good few! Food is always 10/10 and if you haven’t already please try the chilli salted chips!! Chicken & Pork Chow Mein and egg fried rice are unreal. There’s a few dishes I prefer from elsewhere but the main ones you cannot beat from here. Even when family come to visit they look forward to getting a Chinese. Good work guys ✌🏽

Quality wasn't great to be honest. Deep fried shredded chicken... couldn't see any chicken in it and the chicken balls were really salty and very similar to what you would expect pick up from a supermarket to be honest. Ken Tong seems to have alot of great reviews so thats why l chose it but unfortunately my experience wasn't great. Maybe an off night but my review is honest and fair.

This is the best Chinese we have ever had, good quality food, excellent service and good delivery and very polite and friendly. We have just ordered again.

I very reluctantly had a Chinese from Ken Tongs for my grandads birthday (his choice) and once again it disappointed. We had 2 of 11 dishes missing despite being charged for them. Half of the food was Luke warm at best, despite waiting an additional 15 minutes after the collection time stated. When I called them to complain it was apparently my fault the food was cold, and they wanted me to drive back to return the food and prove 2 dishes were missing. I will try my best to never come here again.

Everytime we order from here, we order a lot of food always nice, especially the pancake rolls. Always made fresh and the way I like. Nice people, good service and my new favorite Chinese takeaway.

Don’t like to leave negative reviews , however feel our loyalty has been taken for granted. Been coming here best part of a year , on average ordering £25 a week (£100 a month) 2/3 weeks ago we ordered and we’re wrongly given a LARGE spring roll instead of mini spring rolls. They asked us to return the large spring rolls , in return for the mini ones. Felt that was wrong … what did they do with the large spring roll ?!? Anyway , let it go and ordered £35 worth Saturday for the boxing … and it was good. Today (27/4) ordered another £21 worth only to get given half a chow mein , instead of half a bag of chicken balls. My partner confronted the driver who eventually agreed to come back with the chicken balls , leaving us with the chow mein .. fine . However on return the driver came in, and physically put his hand in our bag to try and retrieve the chow mein… DISGUSTING. Going to take our money elsewhere , loyalty counts for nothing it seems!

on Xmas eve was told 2 hour wait it finally arrived 3 hours 20 minutes later, rude telephone person, if you can't take bookings don't take them or give a accurate time of delivery, if we were told the actual time we would have sourced another takeaway rather than sit around hungry for 3 hours plus!!@@

Excellent Chinese, always fast with delivery. Would highly recommend the chicken curry after trying many places nothing quite compares. Always fresh & never had a fault.

Absolutely beautiful food, I have never tasted food so good and fresh. Huge portions, fresh chunky veg and very flavoursome sauces, you know these guys take pride in their cooking when you taste their food. You will not be disappointed. It can get quiet busy be sure you book in advance on weekends. If I could give more stars I would !!

Food was absolutely amazing! My boyfriend usually orders chinese elsewhere and was surprised with the difference - you get great portion sizes and the food tastes great! Delivery was fast and on time too. Highly recommend this place; I'll definitely be ordering from here again

waited 2 hours for our food and got delivered mediocre products.Why in this time of struggle arnt ken tong upping their game, felt like get it out dont care about quality they will come back, No we won't youve lost a new customer could have been a good one.

Ordered meals for the family after a very long day driving to Wiltshire and back. Half way through my chicken with green peppers in black bean sauce, yes!!!! A dreaded dark hair in my mouth. As you can imagine, nearly vomited. That was the end of the meals as family didn't dare eat any more either incase they found the same. I've used Ken Tong on and off for many years, this is the final time we will be using them. Absolutely no excuse for poor hygiene.

Had family come visit for the weekend and ordered a Chinese from here to try somewhere new, the customer service was awful on the phone but thought I would give it a go still. When the food arrived half the order was wrong/ missing, it took 10 mins to ring through to tell them and the man on the phone was so rude! Awful service and food that we did actually get was greasy and cold when arrived. Never will order from here again! Stay away if you have any sense

I had family round for a take away, we ordered about £50 worth of food went and collected it, got home realised some food was missing, were told they would deliver it but would be an hour as they were busy, we called up after a hour and a half and told me my house didn’t exist and I was wasting their time. Won’t ever go here again and they are so rude on the phone, they essentially stole from me!

Terrible customer service - Tell you they will call You back and don’t bother. Multiple times have got our orders wrong & on one occasion over charged us. When you phone to collect and are given a time food is never ready - So if you do this turn up 20 mins later than they tell you. If they deliver it’s never on time - They don’t care about this either! Rude staff - Worst customer service I’ve ever come across & couldn’t care less about their customers. Poor.

Llegué allí a las 7:15 y la comida no estaba lista hasta después de las 8 y otro cliente había estado esperando desde las 6:45. Entiendo que estaba ocupado pero deberían dar cuenta de esto. Luego, cuando llegamos a casa, nos dimos cuenta de que toda la comida ni siquiera estaba en la bolsa, la llamamos y dijeron "sí, está sentada aquí", solo nos dieron una bolsa en lugar de dos, así que tuvimos que regresar. También efectivo solo, lo cual no es un problema masivo, pero ten en cuenta.La comida no era mala, pero tampoco sorprendente.En general, no volveremos.

What has gone wrong ! Food,service was good. Order for collection told 15 mins so arrived just over 15 mins had to wait another 15 min had to wait at counter for 5 mins before service as nobody behind counter . Pancake roll was warm in centre not hot Singapore noodles cold house curry tasted like it had sugar in (lots) and cold salt chilli chicken the chicken was hard and cold think it was standing somewhere for a while. Still could taste hours later couldn't reheat as seafood was present. Had meal on Wednesday 18 December the delivery driver did come back with wrong order!

Ken Tongs my favourite round here. Have used others but he is the best... Such a selection and the staple chicken curry and egg fried rice never disappoints.

Ordered from here for the first time as my usual was closed, I was told the wait for delivery was 30/40minutes but ended up waiting an hour and a half, I ordered for the family all the chicken dishes I got was just pure floury batter with literally no chicken in the middle, it was taste less, the staff aren't particularly pleasant and didn't let me know how long the wait was going to be, I wouldn't recommend if you're looking for a warm tasty meal for the family. I guess I'm just used to tasty Chinese with my local so won't be using this one again, disappointed I had a bad first experience as the reviews for this place aren't too bad.

We have just had the second meal this week from Ken Tong absolutely fabulous.

for Had a Chinese takeaway tonight and I ordered prawn crackers and crispy shredded beef within my takeaway but I did not receive any prawn crackers and i did not get my crispy shredded beef but some beef and onion dish. I phoned up straight away and spoke to the English person who had served my husband and she laughed and said that she pressed the wrong button but it was ok as the dish I got was 40p cheaper !!!!!! I asked for a refund and offered to bring it back but she would not do this as she couldn’t explain to her employers what had happened as no one else spoke English. Total waste of money - I can understand mistakes happen but when they won’t do anything to remedy it that’s not on and I don’t know what I can do... very unhappy and hungry

Ordered my Chinese and went to collect, my partner went in and gave my name and was given the wrong order. I was then called ten minutes later and told to go back so the other person could have their dinner. Despite me living 25 minutes away I had to turn round to collect my dinner as I had paid for it. The lady on the phone was so disgustingly rude, I’ve actually never been spoken to like that in my life and she said it was my partners fault for taking the wrong bag. I can’t believe she said this when she was the one that handed him the wrong bag from the kitchen. Would never ever return as I was treated with no respect by two different people and was hung up on the phone when they had actually called me to go back. Customer service skills are outrageous and the people are vile.

Get a take away most weeks and have never had a bad meal here. Always delivered on time and friendly staff.

Invited round to my Son, for an evening Take-away we ordered from Ken Tong and looked forward to our delivered meal, two hours later were still waiting, my sons Partner phoned to enquire where and when our meal would arrive, and in know uncertain terms, she was given short thrift! " we have over sixty orders tonight and it's unlikely we will get to you" was the answer, my sons Partner protested, but no sympathy was offered.. And worse of all too late to make. Substitute arrangement . So all I can say is thank you so much Ken Tong for ruining our evening. And as I say NEVER AGAIN!

We ordered a meal and I asked how long it would be delivered. I was told 40 to 50 minutes. After 1 hour and 15 minutes I rang them. I was told it would be with us in a minute. Our food turned up 15 minutes later. We had to wait an hour and a half. To top it all the delivery driver short changed me by £1.00. I went after her but she was driving off.If the food wasn't so good I wouldn't go there again.

Excellent Chinese, could easily be served in a restaurant. Extensive menu with a selection of dishes that differ from all the other takeaways in the area. Quality of food is best experienced at a Chinese and would return again and again.

Cómo equivocada bee... Me dieron un precio en el teléfono, no te preocupes. Presentamos y era de £4 más caro (gran orden mente u) cualquier forma yeh no mate preocupaciones tienen su cuatro libras hambre. Ya he despertado al bebé hasta que son asientos que trabajo. De todos modos "Venga nenas permite placa." Tienen la orden equivocada. Oh pesadilla esto ha ocurrido antes, pero que valoran son una cadena muy concurrida dignamente aceptar el error y dar Ken una llamada. Es agradable en el teléfono, pero piensa que estás equivocado, no, no estábamos en lo cierto. Mi Señora ordenados (siempre a la derecha), así que las consultas con la cocina y acepta mi Señora es de hecho correcto. 1-0 cliente que paga. Ken me dicen el pedido está en camino. Sin embargo eran todos compartiendo mi arroz arroz, ahora es frío. Llamamos a Ken y él dice que sí te enviaré más arroz sin sondas! Días felices así que sólo conseguimos el bebé volver a dormir todo el mundo comido excepto yo y luego la puerta. Me desperté nuevamente la sangrienta pesadilla de bebé. De todos modos tiene el viejo el hombre entrega días comida... Umm, sí, aquí sales. Así que darme el arroz y esperamos orden correcta. Digo gracias y empezar demasiado cerca de la puerta, y luego he oído las palabras que sacudieron mi noche en un obis. Que será de £2 por favor? Qué. Así que mi alimentos fríos y estoy fuera de bolsillo. Pésimo servicio y terminó con una cena fría.

Great food and very quick service. My King Prawn Curry was great, and my wife's Duck Chow Mein was also highly rated - lots of meat. Highly recommended! Please note that this is a takeaway only.

I love Ken Tong's food. I think his curries are the best Chinese curries available in Norwich and his chips are perfect. If you want a good quality Chinese then Ken is your man!

They're our closest take away and we couldn't be happier with them. The foods really good and they're always happy to amend your orders to suit your needs (I always get them to remove mushrooms). Their currys and surprisingly their chips are favourites of mine also love their chicken with garlic ginger and spring onions. Never had a bad dish.

We ordered the set meal for two which was beef chop suey. It tasted as if it had been boiled so NO flavour. The sweet and sour chicken was in such thick batter it made me gag and the so called pancake roll was another thick brick of batter with bean sprouts inside. The only thing that was edible was the rice. This is the second load of cack we have had from there. We thought we'd leave it six months and try again, big mistake.
