New World Chinese in Eastbourne

From the charming young lady on the phone to the driver who was early and super polite to the chef who made the BEST, tastiest, freshest meal we have had as long as I can remember. Our go to Chinese (we have tried many many in SE London, but tonight was especially delicious, I didn't even really fancy Chinese tonight but it was sooooo tasty I had to go back for seconds. FYI we had Crispy Chilly Beef, sweet and sour chicken (the pineapple tasted so fresh!), chicken chow main (loads of chicken and loads of my fav nice veg), chicken and cashew nuts (beautiful). PS this is the fist time I have ever felt compelled to write a review. Thanks New World xx

Picked up a takeaway from here after a few beers at the micro pub next door. The food was pretty good to be fair, plenty of big prawns and succulent noodles. I’d had a few pints though which made the food even better

The delivery driver was ok but the food was an hour late.the food itself was very sub standard and the duck looked like it had been run over several times then left in a fire for a few hours.this is by far the worst Chinese I've eaten and would never order again

Absolutely not coming back took an over an hour to get here and the food is disgusting Satay chicken isn’t even satay chicken chicken balls tastes like they was cooked from frozen not fresh batter horrible taste chips cold soggy and chewy sweet and sour sauce is like water not a happy customer 28 pound worth of food to have to mouth falls and bin it 🥵

The food arrived cold and the was disgusting, the chicken balls was still pink, pan cake roll was greasy very disappointed, i phoned to complain and the girl on the phone was very rude and obviously couldn't of cared less refused to refund my money so i won't ever order from there again

We will never use this Chinese again failed to deliver our dinner on Valentine’s Day pre booked our dinner for 7/7.30 phones up at 8 then 8.30 then 9 and 9.30 to get told our order is out for delivery. Got told this every time we phoned up. Tried phoning at 9.45 to no one answering the phone. Total ruined our evening what a disgrace. I expected it to be a bit late due to being Valentine’s Day but no even receiving your dinner is not acceptable

I was reluctant to order from here due to the previous reviews. Having read most of them, it seemed to be a delivery problem so I decided to try anyway. The food was lovely and to my surprise it turned up slightly early. Perhaps they have sorted their delivery issues! But I stress again, the food was lovely and it was very reasonably priced. I would definitely order again :) If you'd like a dish recommendation then the salt, pepper and chilli prawns were amazing!

I always got my Chinese meal from here for years but over the last 16 months there is constantly something missing so you have to go back down to collect it. The food is cold on delivery. This recent order had pancakes missing for a half a duck on a order of 60 pound that hardly feed 2 adults and 2 children and we are not big eaters. Portions have become extremely small. I called to collect the pancakes and they treated me as if I was making it up. Got them home and there was SIX pancakes for half a duck. I will be finding another Chinese takeaway to order from as I have given them chance after chance. Very poor indeed and not worth the money.

We have tried here before and delivery was terrible they were short staffed, didn't apologise and said we are busy! Not much choice around here... So early afternoon we decided to pre-order on Uber for a 6pm delivery... 6:30We started to request an update on app no reply! Called and called over 40 times no answer engaged or rang out! 7:30 we got through.... We are busy... It will be about 60-90 mins... So we cancelled the order... Disgusted with the lack of communication. I understand your busy, I just wanted a call some communication!!!! We will be looking for a new Chinese! Even if we need to collect.

Rarely can be bothered to write reviews ordered through Uber coming up 4 hours now and still no delivery, called restaurant repeatedly and always engaged which I assume is people calling to complain and chase orders not place them, will learn to read reviews next time

Rude service from the girl bad mannered and even swore at me, first thing she said was yeah and ? Food is repulsive never known chill beef to be that dry it was just like batter in brown sugar, curry was made out of oil and onions. Egg fried rice brown from the grease and without the egg ! Tired to reason with for a partial refund and food returned but the girl refused. Added a picture of that oh so lovely “beef”

I ordered from New world last week it was delivered late, cold and tastless. And to top it off my mum then found a long black hair half of it cooked into the batter of the chicken! Safe to say it all went in the bin!

Absolutely disgusting food, bland, overcooked chicken in curry, undercooked chicken in soup, chicken balls were disgusting, spicy lamb dish was congealed, chow meins very bland and greasy, chilli chips were cooked numerous times and cold and crispy with very little chilli flakes on them, told i would get a partial refund once i sebt food back tgen lied to uber eats. Been sick today.

This is an absolutely disgusting Chinese. I ordered this with my family last night and when it turned up i was disgusted. I ordered 2 chow meins, chicken curry, a spicy lamb dish, chicken balls, chicken and sweet corn soups and prawn crackers. I then started eating my soup to find that the chicken in it was pink! Then when we started playing up our food it was all cold and this was only a couple mins after receiving it. The chow meins had a couple of pieces of meat in eat and was full of oil and tasted old! The curry was cold and all of the oil was separated in it! The spicy lamb dish was like jelly! It was not cooked properly and the lamb was chewy! The prawn crackers were all different colours some burnt and some fine. The chips seemed like they were cooked about 6 times yet they were still cold and had no chilli on! I was highly disappointed and disgusted with my order so I contacted the restaurant to receive a refund. They offered me half the money back if I sent half of the dishes back. So I put the all into containers and waited for the delivery driver to pick it up. I was still waiting for my refund today so I contacted them for them to say that I did not send half the food back (WHICH I DID) and that they are no longer going to refund me. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN IT IS NOT SAFE FOR THEM TO BE SERVING FOOD. There reasoning for the food being awful was that their head chef was not in! Why be open? Serving old food? Absolutely disgusting! Please do not order!!!!!!

Awful service! Took 3hrs to get to us. No discount or refund and delivery man was rude and told us to not bother ordering again with them!

La carne crujiente con chili no había visto un chili. Solicité una devolución de dinero que rechazaron enviando un mensaje disculpándose por la demora, pero no me reembolsarán el dinero y espero haber disfrutado de la comida. Bueno, Nuevo Mundo si lees esto. No, no lo disfruté. Terminó en la papelera.

We pre-ordered food for 6:30pm arrival via Just Eat. They then added half an hour onto the delivery time taking it to 7:05pm. I rang the restaurant at just gone 7:05pm as we had no delivery and was told it was already on its way. 20 minutes later still nothing. I rang back and and asked to speak to the manager and was told they would ring me back. I said that this was unacceptable and that this happened last time . They then told me they were keeping an eye on our order to make sure it arrived and then the story changed. We were then told the driver had been waiting ten minutes at another address as no one had answered the door. When the driver arrived he was incredible apologetic and explained he had only been given the delivery 15 minutes ago by the restaurant, so they quite clearly lied.This happened last time we ordered from them but we thought we'd give them another shot. Each time they have blamed the drivers. This restaurant can quite clearly not cope and their customer service is non - existent. They take no responsibility for anything and its always the drivers or the customers fault.

Inedible, unappetising, salty, greasy need I go on. This is easily the worst food I have been presented with. It’s in the bin and now I’m going out to get something to eat.

Food was sub- standard, order missing. Nightmare to receive refund. Overall very disappointing not to receive the food you have paid for.

Me dijeron que mi comida estaría lista en media hora cuando la ordené. Era 15 minutos antes y aunque, por supuesto, no me quejo de eso, estaba en el baño cuando recibí una llamada perdida del conductor de entrega y una llamada desde la recepción del hotel para decir que la comida estaba lista. Cuando bajé las escaleras, el repartidor me dio mi comida, pero me dijo que lo había dejado esperando 20 minutos y que tenía comida que se estaba enfriando. Me disculpé (no sé por qué) y dije que llegó antes de lo esperado. Cuando miré su llamada perdida, resultó que solo lo había dejado esperando 9 minutos, no 20 minutos. Sí, lo hice esperar, pero lo corregí en un mensaje de texto y dije que no tenía que ser grosero. Mirando las otras críticas terribles, no volveré a pedirles.

Nunca había estado tan disgustado en mi vida. Mi pedido llegó con la mitad de los artículos que faltaban. Llamé 52 veces con el usuario ocupado cada vez. Pasé por JustEat que confirmó que necesitaba contactar al restaurante para marcarlo como completo. Cuando finalmente llegué a las 11 pm al restaurante, ella se puso agresiva y dijo que no debería ir a JustEat y que no los había llamado, no recibiré un reembolso. ¿Aférrate? ¡Te he llamado 52 veces! Luego me acusó de mentir diciendo que no había llamado. Entonces, mi teléfono y el de mi madre están mal, ¿verdad? ? Aquí está tu prueba. Nunca jamás vayas allí. ¡Servicio al cliente vil, siempre falta comida y hace frío cuando aparece! ! ! ! !

Wasnt impressed one main dish not delivered when I called promised a refund and have not received wouldn't recommend. Plus delivered late. Dont seem bothered receptionist rude.

We ordered our family dinner at 6 o'clock expecting it to arrive at 7:30 through the Just Eat app. However, after calling the restaurant four times and repeatedly being told our delivery would only be ten minutes we were left waiting over three hours for our food. The service I experienced was appalling and I shall not be ordering from this Chinese again, absolutely ridiculous!

Food was rubbish, flavourless. And Bbq ribs didnt even have bbq sauce on! Oh and to top it all it took over 2 hours to arrive. Do not bother ordering here.

Ordered from here tonight through Just Eat and then read some poor reviews so I called the restaurant to make sure my order was on the way (1hr 20 mins after placing the order) The lady that answered was clearly flustered and was unable to keep up with orders, and tried to say that the 1 hour and 20 minutes was the amount of time the restaurant had to accept the order, not deliver it. Knowing this is untrue, I spoke to Just Eat, who agreed. Whilst speaking to them, I had a voicemail from the restaurant to call them back. They said they would not be proceeding with my order because I was rude on the phone and then made a complaint with Just Eat. They then told me I had to go through Just Eat for a refund - presumeably knowing you can only get a 50% refund when you cancel the order. They then hung up before I could respond. Luckily Just Eat were great and I got the full refund. They will also be taking it futher with New World and agreed the customer service is shocking and they should not be operating if they cannot handle the order amounts.

Chow mein was soggy noodles, egg fried rice was tasteless , sweet n sour sauce was congealed and the balls soggy. I wouldn’t order again. Very disappointing. Normally I’d look forward to finishing off the next day but not sadly it all went in the bin. A complete waste of money.

Awful 😱 food was disgusting. Delivery booked for specific time (1 hour in advance) turned up 25 mins late barely warm. All dishes had strange odour, can only assume that was oil of cooking method. Really DO NOT BOTHER!

I have enjoyed my Chinese delivery today. Definitely strongly advise any one to order a delivery from it. The food was excellent. So tasty 😋 and good value for money. The time keeping was great. Hope to order again.

Came here one evening when i was in Eastbourne in February 2019. Had egg fried rice and chicken curry.There are a few seats inside so i ate it inside.The food was pretty good and the service was quick despite them being rushed by delivery orders.

Estoy muy contento de no haber leído las reseñas de TripAdvisor antes de realizar el pedido en JustEat para la entrega. La comida era barata pero absolutamente deliciosa, llena de sabor y muy bien condimentada. Las verduras aún tenían un buen bocado, las carnes estaban tiernas, nada grasiento y todo llegaba en recipientes de papel de aluminio en lugar de esos horribles recipientes de plástico, por lo que ni siquiera me sentía culpable por el empaque. Absolutamente ordenará de nuevo.

The food is okay. They’re happy to take requests if you’re vegan. However we waited over 2 hours for our order to show up.

Ordered food which took well over an hour to deliver. The food wasn't hot barely warm.

Ordered a mixture of vegetarian dishes and meat dishes as I wasn't the only one eating. Tucking into my noodles I start to find little bits of chicken that looked like it had been chopped up small or left in the pan from a previous made dish. Called up straight away, they insisted on sending another one I asked for a refund instead this was given straight away. Will never order from here again. Also driver tried to convince me the chicken was egg. Portions were small.

Some dishes are good and others are not so good from here.
