Small cafe with friendly staff. Good coffee and had an amazing bacon and cheese croissant. Worth a visit for some takeaway coffee or if you can manage to get a seat and people watch

So disappointed used to offer great salad and rolls and now only flT bread which is half empty. So so expensive too. Won’t be back

Flat breads a great alternative to sandwiches. Fresh and tasty and lovely egg tarts for a sweet treat. Visited for Sunday lunch break. Really pleasant staff member also. Definitely worth a visit.

Rude little man behind the counter; definitely go to Artisan Roast or Broughton Deli (30 seconds up the road) instead. Popped in for a coffee at 3.15pm on a rainy Tuesday afternoon. I'd checked online to confirm that the cafe was open until 4.00pm, so wandered in. After about 30 seconds, a man appeared behind the counter and barked "we're closed". Slightly baffled by this greeting, I let him know that they were open until 4.00pm online - assuming he'd like to know about the incorrect info. Instead, he stared back and muttered "everything's gone and I'm packing up...obviously." Apparently it was just too difficult to say "Hi, sorry we're closing early today" Pathetic service, go elsewhere.

I bought 2 soups (small) and 2 flatbreads which I asked to be toasted. The soup was lentil, coconut and chilli. Back at the office which is a 3 minute walk the soup was not even luke warm abc with a microwave we couldn’t have eaten it. Chilli - really? It was totally bland. The flatbreads were okay but no evidence of having been toasted as stone cold. £17 for the most disappointing food. I have been going there for years but won’t be back.

I tried new town deli for the first time and won’t be too bothered about returning. I got the steak wrap with mustard and caramelised onions with a side of fries. For £8.25 I would’ve expected a bit more. The wrap was ok, but quite bland. Some bits of steak were lovely and others were chewy. The fries were good. Service was also good.

After a very poor hotel breakfast, & a quick gift shopping trip into town, we were looking for something en route to the Botanic Gardens, so opted for this lovely looking place near said hotel. My friend was gasping for a decent cuppa, & was delighted with the 2-cup pot of tea she got, while I needed some real food, which came in the form of a delicious wholemeal roll with avocado, tomatoes, pesto & balsamic dressing, warmed through & toasted, plus as much water as both she & I could drink. Friendly & efficient people, too. All in all, a real find.

I used to go to New Town Deli a lot in the past (a year and a half ago). Today I went again and the prices have massively gone up. The prices are not clear either -- they have a board of suggested fillings and prices, but if you choose your own bagel/ roll, they charge per filling; you can walk out with a four-filling veggie bagel paying £6! I will certainly not visit again. The food tastes good but the prices are over the top. Plenty of other delis in the area that are just as nice and more reasonably priced.

We stopped in every morning during our three days in Edinburgh, and had lovely coffee and sandwiches each time. The food is great, as is the coffee. And the staff are super friendly, kind and considerate. They even held onto my luggage while I wandered around the city. I highly recommend stopping in. And try their salmon avocado bagel - just so good!

We both had filled Bagels here (which were dying for) and they were scrumptious. You can pick which type of Bagel you like, what fillings you want etc and get it toasted if you like.

I found this place quite by accident and was drawn in by the high stools in the window overlooking the street - the place was in brilliant sunlight so was going to be the ideal place for a snack. Quite an extensive menu on the blackboard behind the counter - I had a breakfast option which was delicious along with a cup of really good coffee. The staff were friendly and professional and it was reasonably priced. I would pop in again next time I was in the area.

I was waiting for my wrap and happened to be looking behind the counter. I quickly realise it was an unhygienic mess, floor covered in Crp, dirty dishes and cutlery everywhere and staff uniforms covered in muck. The other thing that annoys me is that each time I've been, the size of wrap has been different, but the price the same. I tried to ask why, but got quickly shot down by the faceless lady behind the counter. Customer service not a strength. It also costs 50p to pay by card, no matter what the total bill. I've given it a decent chance and still think the food is good, but I won't be back for lunch.

We came for a light lunch and found the toasted wraps to be really good. We had chicken with bacon and guacamole, which was served with salad leaves. Prices are reasonable.

Coffee is okay. Stuff is friendly. furnishings are worn out. The toilet is dirty, even though a service check took place right in front of me.

As an HP fan, I really wanted to go see the place where the author wrote part of it. I'm still a fan of HP but I've lost all respect for JKR...so the experience was a bit bitter.

PERSONAL FAULT. We sat on the terrace to have a beer. It took them a long time to serve us and the poor girls had to run to serve the tables. You could really see the fatigue on his face. HIRE STAFF, rats.

Ordered food at 1.30pm and everything was stale and tasted days old. Not cheap either, definitely not worth the price. Morrisons cafe will do you better than here.

Would give 0 stars if I could. Avoid this place like the plague. Ordered three drinks and they served me one and then I was left waiting over half an hour for another one. When I was served my pink lemonade it was undrinkable. I then asked for a peach ice tea which they then took another twenty minutes to make. Toilets look like something from a horror film, obviously hasn't been cleaned in days?! How this place is still open is beyond me. Staff are useless, slow and clueless.
