New Sunflower in Lincoln

We have been using New Sunflower for probably 30 years and have always had great food. Of late, we have always had the same mains (66 Sweet and Sour Chicken Hong Kong Style and 83 Mixed Meat Hot with King Do Sauce) delicious and recommended! I don't understand the 1 star ratings

Our usual Chinese takeaway was closed so we decided to try this local alternative. My partner and I were hugely disappointed. My vegetable chow mein was tasteless, we had sweet & sour prawns and chicken respectively and both were stodgy and bland. My partner had special fried rice with duck and that was also unpleasant. I can't understand how anyone can rate this place as excellent unless they are entirely devoid of taste buds. The reviews are mixed and we thought we'd take a chance. Sincerely wish we hadn't. £25 or so that just ended up in the bin.

Who ever gave these 5/5 has taste in food . I took your advise and tried this Chinese and it is with out a doubt the worst Chinese I have ever had everything was wrong with it I will not be going there ever again and advise others not to unless you want to be let down .

The quality is consistently excellent and the prices are always reasonable. Wendy always looks after us and I thoroughly recommend them.

We have not been for a while, non descript menu, the duck, in sort of batter tasted terrible, we could not eat, cheap plum sauce which did not taste like plum or was a very poor quality with pinapples in it?????????? Most bizarre. The duck tasted the same as the special fried rice, so must be the oil which tasted rancid... And had been used many times. Don't either use here, or pan city, or ming garden.. Surely there must be a decent Chinese takeaway left? REALY sad disappointed.

Recommended this for the curry by a friend somwent to try . Can"t say it impressed me as slightly sour but guess that's down to personal choice. Fried rice was good though

Order incorrect! Very bland! All tasted the same! Dishes cold! Will not be returning, which is a shame as used to be very good! Oh..and I’m still hungry!

This review is not about the food. We ordered a take away and was told 35 mins, when I went to collect I found the place full with people who had come to collect and had been waiting ages (over an hour passed the collection time for some) no where to park other then on the main road so risking a ticket. Whist everyone was waiting and been told the food is nearly ready more and more phone orders are being taking with the "ready in 35 mins line" clearly just want to take a much cash a possible knowing that most people will just wait. Won't be going back

time to add delivery and get just eat to expand your excellent dishes for those who are not mobile will ge more business by adopting delivery

We have been going to this Chinese for many many years, the food is excellent and the staff are always very friendly. The prices are also reasonable. We always receive a bag of prawn crackers even tho we haven't ordered them, don't know if this is because we are faithful customers or everybody gets them.

Wendy and the team serve up tasty takeaway dishes. Set menus are good value for money and they are happy to swap out dishes or cater for individual requirements. Reasonably priced. One of the best in Lincoln.

We've used this Chinese a few times but won't be going back again. We'd ordered King Prawn Chow Mein, Crispy Shredded Beef and Special Fried Rice. When the order arrived it was announced as King Prawn Fried Rice which my husband questioned and was told that it was King Prawn Chow Mein. We drove the 10 miles home to find out that it was indeed rice not noodles so we had two lots of rice, neither of which tasted very nice (and one of my prawns was quite black in the middle). Not happy, since it was queried at the time, and is probably more expensive than the rice.

I love this place. Set meal H for two is a real winner, a bit more spice than the other set meals. Service is quick and always pleasant. Don't be put off with the dull exterior it's the food that counts not the decor.

Despite the change in staff here it's still quality, we had food from here Friday, was up to the usual standards, the chip portions are getting smaller tho!

I had the sweet and sour battered chicken pieces, but the sweet and sour sauce was too thin and looked more like bbq sauce. The taste was nice but not like the sweet and sour sauce I have had elsewhere. The chicken pieces themselves were crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.The chips were fluffy, cut thickly and the portion sizes were generous. I would definitely come again, if the sauce was thicker :)

Always use this takeaway, visited Sunday night, was a class above, the best service and food avaliable in lincoln without question

we have used this take away for years ,this last saturday it was not that goodnoodles over cooked and warm ,other dishes not to there standard, the ribs where ok.sorry guys we will be giving miss for a while.old customer

Visited here for years. Great food everytime, best Chinese take away in Lincoln. Often get free crackers/sauces and sometimes even meals in free with our food.
