Abysmal. Took nearly 2.5 hrs to get food. Order placed 18.48. At 20:25 app says it's been delivered. It hadn't. Phoned restaurant and told our order was next. Waited nearly another hour. Food was poor. Last time we order from here.

Love the Phoenix, always tasty and high quality food

This order was delivered half an hour after the maximum delivery time. It was put on just eat it as delivered when it wasn’t. We were still expected to pay the extra delivery fee & also no apology or compensation that the order took nearly two hours to be delivered, seriously unhappy.

Chicken fried rice was very bland. it didn't taste or look like it had been fried

My son ordered on the app and accidently clicked on lincoln chinese as it had the same name as theone where we live, very unhelpful when i called and refused to refund any money despite the chinese being one hour away from the address ordered.

Stop asking for money on delivery!!!!!!

Ordered a takeaway and had to throw it away. Peking ribs had plenty of meat on them but didn't taste or smell very good.No sign of the egg in egg fried rice, it was just tasteless brown colour, ditto green peppers in beef and green peppers. Such a disappointmenas the last (dine in)meal we had there was delicious.

Ordered from here as in the past it has been an excellent quality Cantonese restaurant. This was very disappointing- meat was tough and overcooked and appeared to be reheated from previous evening at the very least. Flavours were bland in all 3 dishes. Extremely poor.

Cold food. 'Crispy' chilli beef was completely soggy. Small portions for the money. Only nice thing was the curry sauce. 50 quid for most of it to go in the bin.

Food was excellent but was a bit surprised when when delivery driver asked for extra 80p for delivery why wasn’t it put on the site we had to raid granddaughters money box as we didn’t have any money

Disappointing. Pancake rolls were greasy and contents hard not bamboo shoots as usual. Curry was like water rice was not too bad. Chilli beef not crispy not chilli hot. Meal was not hot on arrival. I thought I’d try phoenix instead of my usual but won’t be doing so again. Overpriced for what I had. Not very nice at all.

I'm a disable lady, the driver rang me saying, I had to come out to the car to collect my order from him. when I told him that it would take sometime to get in my wheelchair, he said he would get out his car this time but in future can I be waiting outside on the path for him. Is there any way that you could make sure I don't get him again please .

Very disappointed to receive the sweet and sour chicken….without the sweet and sour sauce. Ruined daughters meal

Always get our chinese takeaway from here . It's definitely one of the best places in Lincoln.

The food was great. I pleasantly watched the just eat driver have a cigarette in his car before he gave me my food. Bit gross really.

We were told our order would be about 1.1/2 hours delivery which we accepted as they were busy, half an hour past the delivery time I called them to be told it’s cooking and will be another 40 minutes!…nearly 3 hours to get a takeaway…unacceptable

Ordered a takeaway, called up multiple times but was 2 hours late. Kept being told it was on the way but despite living less than 20 mins away took 40 minutes to get here. We've ordered from here for years but defo won't be ordering again. This is the second time weve had this experience. Also hoisin sauce is now salty and tasteless. Feel like costs are being cut and quality and service are taking a hit.

terrible taste and texture to the king prawns felt really mushy but thank goodness the beef in the black bean sauce was tender

This is a delivery review. The food is always good. However the last two times we ordered, the food was so late. We thought the last time was just a blip. But last night, we ordered at 6:30pm, the food turned up after 9pm. We chased them a couple of times and each time they said "it's just leaving..." (We're 10mins away.) But over 2.5 hours is just so bad. We got so frustrated as we had elderly people who eat early. Whilst the food is good, we're not ordering from them again.

First time I’ve had food and felt one item wasn’t as expected. The crispy chilli beef wasn’t crispy and was very chewy. Like it had been in the sauce too long. I couldn’t eat it at all unfortunately. We love Phoenix take away but that dish tonight wasn’t how it usually is. The rest though was lovely!

On ordering delivery said 50-1 hr, once ordered the delivery time changed to 1hr 20-40, it came at 1hr 40. No update on the app when it was dispatched or was on its way. One item was wrong we received a rice dish instead of the chilli beef we ordered.

absolutely delicious meal - all meal items tasted different to each other and not boring like some Chinese take away meals are. Food warm too despite coming from other end of Luncoln

We have ordered from here before and food always arrives hot and often before the time quoted on just eat, which is fine for us. However tonight’s order I’m left very disappointed. Their crispy pork rolls are usually jammed full with pork and tonight’s literally had a few little bits of pork, mainly full of mushrooms and something very bitter. Very disappointed. I even called the restaurant to give general feedback and to ask if they have changed them. I was told they are the same and they will check their stock and speak with the chef to check all is ok. My husband still liked his hence 3 stars, but if I order something with pork I would expect more pork then I received. Hopefully they will be better next time.

Amazing staff... Couldn't of been better ... Thank you 🙏🏼 Nobody in on a Thursday night between 8 - 9pm so no atmosphere. Restaurant cold but amazing waitress gave us a fan heater .... But sadly food was dire ..... Nothing like the place it used to be ... Spare Ribs ...Fatty and not tasty.... Chai Sui Pork inedible.....it used to be so special here. £71 down the drain. Did tip waitress for good service ...not her fault..... But extremely SAD experience... NEVER GOING BACK. So so sad ...as this restaurant was always a dead cert back in the day ..... 😔

Not the usual standard, most of it went in the bin as it was cold. Order took 2 hours and was over an hour after delivery time. Rang restaurant they agreed to refund but said when the order turns up you're welcome to keep that too. Then next day message from just eat to say restaurant will not refund. Have been a loyal customer for years. Won’t be using again!

Last few times I’ve ordered from the restaurant the delivery time has been massively exaggerated and orders delivered late. Last one took 2 hours and was over an hour after the estimated delivery time. Good was cold and not up to standard. I have been using the takeaway and restaurant for over 30 years and the service and food is seriously going downhill. Customer service is abysmal, agree to refund and tell you to keep the food just to get you off the phone then refused to process the refund. AVOID!

Worst delivery ever, 2hrs wait. Driver turned up with no identification so had to go back for it. Will not be paying the 80p delivery charge and will never use them again!

This place is somewhere where we can always go for a good meal! Food is lovely and tasty and service always good! We didn't book but seemed to be there on our own 1 min and full tables the next so I would advise to book 7pm onwards

Food good, service ok although limited wine choice. Atmosphere lacking as we went on a quiet night...and it was very cold...assume its warmer with body heat when its full.

Quite throughly disappointed, all meals arrived cold, we are 10 mins away, chilli beef was sweet with no heat at all, 2 chicken satay skewers for £5.80!!! Nearly £40 spent and most in the bin!!! Only thing good was the rice!! At least there is prawn crackers!!!

The food here is normally good but tonight the food was amazingly good. Every dish tasted beautiful. It arrived very hot. Happy customer.

Very very slow service. Not enough people and again Just Eat orders get prioritised over restaurant orders. Took over two hours to get our mains. We won’t be back!

45 minutes late and then the driver asked for extra on delivery so had to phone the restaurant and pay more, would have had no issues if it was on time but to be 45 minutes late then want more for the delivery is shocking. The food was cold it was poor taste on some items. Very disappointed with this service and will not use them again.

I’ve been going to this restaurant since it opened. I’ve always said it is the best Chinese in Lincoln, ordered a takeaway last night, it was the most tasteless meal I’ve had from there it tasted like everything was watered down.Im sure jimmy who ran it from day one would be mortified how bad it was last night. Things have to improve if we buy from there again.

Food was good as usual but delivery driver charged me an extra £1.60 delivery. I didn’t think it was clear there was an extra charge over the 3 miles (when already paid £3 delivery) and I live 3.6 miles away so it should have only been 80p. Seems like a petty thing but it’s not great customer service to be demanded extra money at your door step when you don’t expect it, especially when it’s not even the right amount.

Food was very wet - but overall okay - no chicken balls, which was disappointing - worse part, after spending ~£40 on a takeaway, they have the cheek to charge us an extra 80p on our doorstep - least we know not to bother again :L

Honestly was really looking forward to this but extremely disappointed.. the best part of the £50 order were the banana fritters and prawn crackers.. the chicken curry was overpowers by the taste of cinnamon and onion.. the chow mein noodles were very undercooked. And the pork lettuce wrap was mostly just mushrooms.

The food was late coming to house when it was delivered it was cold, greasy and bland. Not worth the money and would definitely not eat here again. Shame as it used to have such a good reputation.

Visited the restaurant for a birthday meal, we all had starters & mains all of which were excellent. The service was very good, only negative I would say is it was a little cold in the restaurant.

£40 order, delivered with a 90 minute wait. The food arrived cold and the salt and pepper chicken was inedible. Really hard and tasted like cardboard. Absolutely awful and will not order again.

The Venue Very old outdated place cold and uncomfortable place to eat your food The food Cantonese chicken Hong Kong style - presentation looked good the taste however, completely tasteless and rock hard not fresh atall Egg fried rice, very plain Duck in plumb sauce tasted like orange sauce instead Drinks very expensive, we finished our drinks and headed to the counter and asked the member of staff if we could pay for the drinks as food was unacceptable. All staff members looked at us just to top off the uncomfortable atmosphere. Unfortunately won't be returning.

We have ordered from Phoenix many times for many years. Tonight the food was awful. I didn’t eat my Cantonese chicken at all, and my mums special chow mein wasn’t nice either. They have offered us credit for one main, but I don’t think we’ll be ordering again.

All the food was cold on arrival. The spring rolls were undercooked. The ‘salt and pepper chips’ were covered in cinnamon, maybe some sort of Christmas joke…. The joke was certainly on me when the delivery driver then arrived and asked for more money. I’ve paid for delivery and a service charge. If the company are wanting more for delivery charges then they should take that up with just eat. Would not recommend. Worst Chinese food experience I’ve had.

The delivery driver asked for extra money when food arrived even though it was 45 minutes late. The food was very salty and the sweet, and sour sauce was waterery. We order directly from here quite often, but first time from just eat. I question whether the food even came from the Phoenix. Will not be ordering again

I was surprised and delighted when my order arrived and sooner than expected. I was hungry and the food was so good that not a scrap or crumb was left! It was my first time tasting the food from here and it was delicious. I would recommend everyone buy from this place!!

Food wasn't very nice. Chips were soggy and cold. The curry sauce was very runny. Chow mein was OK, but really greasy. Won't be ordering again.

My wife and I needed an evening meal before returning home with our grandson from Uni. What a good choice we made eating at the Phoenix Cantonese Restaurant. We were made very welcome, the friendly staff sorted our order and drinks. When the food came it was superb. Very tasty, good portions and lovely tasting egg fried rice. We recommend this restaurant to all who read this review.
