A nice pub with friendly staff. we didn’t eat here but the food looked very nice, menu a bit pricey but to be fair, any establishment that does meals in Howarth seems to be a bit pricey at this time of year so I cant mark it down for being the same as all the others, other than that a nice pub.

Came here for first time for Sunday lunch - four of us. Very friendly staff, nice pub, great outdoor seating area. Two of us were satisfied with our lunch ( haddock & chips and a nut roast) and two had possibly one of the worst meals (scampi & chips and veggie burger) we have had out. Chips were limp & greasy and veggie looked very sad. There was just no love. May come back for a drink but will definitely not be eating here again.

Pleasant staff and lovely interior but the burger was awful. It was supposed to be beef but if it looks like bacon, smells like bacon and tastes like bacon something tells me it’s not beef. When I queried its origin, I was presented with some guff about haemoglobin! We will not be returning.

Was recommended the New Sun Inn by a friend so after a visit to the village we popped in for some lunch. Inside the place is really nice and the staff working were nice and really efficient. I’d been told (and seen pics) of the pie, Mrs G had that and I had the fish & chips. Both were stunning, glad I arrived hungry as the portions are huge. The prices are really reasonable. Shame I don’t live closer as it would definitely become a regular place to eat. Can’t recommend it enough and I will come back.

We have eaten here a couple times and on both occasions we have enjoyed our visit. The food is excellent, the pub is attractive, the service is first class and they have a good range of beers on offer. Although slightly out of the centre of Haworth, at the top of the village, it is well worth visiting The Old Sun.

We called in for drinks on a couple of occasions when staying in Haworth recently. On one occasion we got sat opposite the kitchen pass so could see the variety of food coming out. We decided to book on the strength of this. We were both so tempted by the steak pie. For me to chance pie in a pub, I really feel as though it has to be worth the calories!!!! I can 100% confirm it was. Delicious. Deep filled. The steak was so tender. Just yum. Great service (the manager in particular was really helpful). Good drinks menu, all very fairly priced. We would recommend and definitely return.

Had a very nice meal here on a Wednesday evening. It was very busy when we arrived at about 7.00pm. Not a lot of staff on but they were working really hard and not a huge wait. I would go again.

Sunday lunch has always been one of my favourite meals. A good roast dinner cannot be beaten. We walked to Haworth today and called at The Old Sun for a drink and decided we would have a Sharing Sunday Lunch Platter for 2. Neither of us eat lamb so we asked them to ensure that lamb wasn't included. OMG the platter was huge. We both have good appetites and it was more than enough. Two huge Yorkshire Puddings. About 4 large slices of beautiful tender beef. Gravy. New potatoes. Roast potatoes. 2 stuffing balls. Pigs in blanket. Carrots. Broccoli. Mange Tout. Cauliflower. Cauliflower cheese. Absolutely beautiful. £35.95 for 2. Slightly more than buying 2 individual Sunday lunches but more on this than the individual ones. If I have to criticize it - and this is only my problem - veg. Its one of my bug bares. Vegetables are cheap but most hostelries seem to skimp on the veg which to me is just as important as the meat etc. There wasn't a lot of veg between 2 which is disappointing. Maybe if I'd have asked we may have got more but having said that could we have eaten it - i doubt it. I still like to see ample veg on a dinner. My other bug bare - dogs. When we go out to eat we don't want dogs either side of us. They were however very well behaved but I would love to find a pub that doesn't allow them where you eat. Sorry folks. We have had a dog so I'm not a dog hater but we never took him in a pub/cafe/ hotel etc. A lovely pub however and a fabulous meal. We saw some of the other meals that came out which looked amazing. It was our first visit but it won't be our last. Give it a go folks. Delicious 😋

Sat a while before eventually served then had to wait ages for the meal, requested drinks and they were left on the bar and staff asked us to collect them when there was waiter/waitress service available and looked short staffed only 4 visible at any given time. Staff were smoking E-cigs at the far end of the bar and E-cigs seen stuck in their back trouser pockets in-between using them when tables needed clearing and cleaning. Dogs laid in the narrow walk ways causing customers to trip up. Food was nice, service and professionalism poor. Won't be returning.

Terrible food. Fish was really dry with more dried batter than dried fish. Don’t eat in the extension if you can help it because if there is more than two tables in use you won’t be able to hear a word the people you’re eating with are saying, it’s like being in a football stadium. Staff are nice. Toilets not great they need to be cleaner.

After owing thousands of pounds in rent to my very patient dad who gave him multiple chances, the owner of Riverside Cafe Ilminster, Ethan Parker was rightly asked to leave the premises. This is how he left the building, still owing thousands. He’s moving his “business” to Axminster very soon under a new name. If you happen to be a landlord in that area then do be aware. Do not trust this extremely immature boy.

Nice local pub, with a friendly atmosphere. Pub very clean and easily accessible. Jodie/Tracey hit the spot with a lovely Sunday Lunch presented beautifully……great hospitality. Enjoyed chilling over a pint of Guinness and a few baby Guinness chasers.

We have eaten here 3 times now and each time it has been good. The roast dinners are very good - not worth cooking your own when you have the George in your doorstep. Nice vibrant atmosphere too
