New Sage silver river chinese in Northampton

Ordered from here via just eat Got severe food poisoning...enough said

Just had a delivery of chicken curry. I’ve ordered for years from here and I am disgusted by the soggy, flat, tasteless over salty chicken curry (used to be chunky flavoursome and fresh chicken pieces) the chips were dry and hard and the satay chicken was laughable - no sauce at all. Dispacable. Will not be using them EVER agai. A co plate waste of my money. Binned the lot!!! Toast and beans it is. FFS 🤦🏻‍♀️ fuming!!

As a customer New Sage Silver River for many years I regret we shall no longer be using them. On Sunday I ordered my usual crispy lemon chicken, beef in green peppers rice, and chicken balls. On getting the meal home I found the lemon chicken was mostly fried batter and the remaining chicken was in a pale soft batter which was far from crispy, the beef was tough and the rice cold. Not usually one to complain I phoned to express my disappointment, the young lady taking the call was very polite and apologetic and said she would discuss this with the 'kitchen', a conversation ensued from which I was advised I would be offered a 10% discount on my next purchase. I said I thought this was insufficient and felt a refund of at least the cost of the lemon chicken was reasonable but apparently the 'kitchen' was adamant. If this the way New Sage Silver River treat their customers you might want to consider going elsewhere as clearly customer satisfaction is not a high priority for them.

The quality of food is gone down

The noodles were so greasy we couldn't eat them and they forgot some of our order. Won't be going back

Food tastes reheated. Texture of chicken and beef was tough in a few dishes. I wouldn't recommend this place.

Had takeaway from 'The Sage' for the first time today. My son had the Chicken fried rice which he was happy with. I however had the 'Prawn Chop Suey'. Well it was the strangest chop suey I had ever had (I frequently have chop suey from other restaurants). The sauce it was in was tomatoe. Has hardly any beansprouts or onion in it..it tasted like tinned spaghetti..with prawns in it. Was not vey nice at all... Doubt we will be going back there again..

Food always great, piping hot and fresh, would recommend collecting yourself or ordering in store.

Lovely meal with friends here last night. The menu is varied and something for all levels of spice taste. The staff are very attentive and giving the place was full, never felt we were waiting long for service .

Lovely good, as always. Recommend using their app or phoning direct as just eat make their prices higher, on average £1 more per item. Lovely food.

Ordered here for mother's day. Food is alright but im just sad they forgot to deliver my rice with meat, tried ringing to get them to deliver the items they forgot but couldn't get through. So if you order from here beware 🙂

Orded my meal for 730 because that's when guests turn up meal turns up at 530 cold food

The order was taken with no issues and confirmation that delivery to my address was possible. The food arrived hot and within 40 mins of the order being made. The ribs had plenty of meat on them and they were easy to eat. The Duck in lemon sauce (and pineapple chunks) was tasty but could have benefitted from a little more duck and for this to be more tender...mine was overcooked. The House rice in a sauce was excellent with all the meats succulent and plentiful. Both this and the ribs had freshly cut vegetables which were colourful, aided the presentation and a crunchy texture. I will certainly give them another try in the future.

First and last order, chow mein probably 4 days old, mixed balls all grease, meat (that I found ) old, hard, chewy and the ribs were inedible. Most thrown in the bin I had tummy ache all night and suffered terribly this morning with diarrhoea. Don't order from here. . You've been warned

Show mains was allright but the deep fried beef in xo souce was burned, impossible to eat ,I called them ,they tried to convince me what it's should be like that,i newer head meal with burned smell and taste ,had to bin it,picture for you to decide before ordering

Very good food, well cooked, fresh and full of flavour. Good choices for vegetarian and vegan. Prices are good and the food comes in generous portions It's clean, has a nice atmosphere and the staff are very friendly. We have been here dozens of times and it never let's us down.

Ordered online and said 20 mins for collection. Turned up to collect and had to wait another 20 mins for order to be ready. Guy came in and ordered his and that was ready before my order. Then got home to eat my sweet and sour chicken to find 3 of the balls had prawns in them. As I don’t eat fish this made me sick. The dog enjoyed it though and gave you 1 star as she loved it

Its good! My parents got our chinese from here 15 years ago and it was good, 15 years later I moved back in to the area and its still good! Its cheaper to order direct than through an APP, and for collection I have never had cold food. The only 2 things stopping me from giving it a 5* are: Chips are bad, over cooked & too thin (I know, why got to a chinese for chips, but when they are doon well, OMFG!) second is the menu and chef specails are a bit boring (it tases like every other good chinese and nothing makes this place stand out).

Have used New Sage regularly,almost weekly for last 18 months or so for our delivery of Chinese food.WOW is an understatement,absolutely superb in all areas,portion size,taste,presentation and affordability.We have tried various dishes and absolutely NO complaints.This is a to “ order from place “ you won’t be disappointed.The ordering is easy and quick delivery times can be advised of between 60 mins and 75 mins In busy periods ,but food normally arrives within 40 minutes or sooner !!!. A great place,great delivery service and PERFECT food.

We order lots of food from here . When the food got here were very very disappointed. Presentation was rubbish Potion seizes ... ehm 😪😪 small looks like it won't fill any one up and large don't even come any were close to filling the container. Seriously we were really appalled and we won't be ordering from here 😒. 😒

Chillie crispy beef is banging.

We have used this Chinese take away for quite a few years and have always been happy with our orders, especially the beef chow mein, which has a delicious smokey taste and tender beef. The lady taking orders is polite and very good at her job. BUT.... over the last few months the quality of the food that comes from the kitchen has gone down. Tonight, we had to put all our food into the oven when we got home because it was only tepid (we only live a 3 minute drive away). We also ordered pancake rolls but were given a bag of chips instead! We had to drive back to get them swapped. We also feel rather concerned about the lack of allergen and cross contamination awareness. On one occasion we asked for no celery in the special fried rice, due to my husband not being able to tolerate it and when we got home it had celery in it! They had asked us if it was because of an allergy and we had said yes, to ensure that it was taken seriously. This was very unpleasant for my husband but could have been life threatening for someone with a severe allergy. Not sure we'll be ordering from them again. 😕

Not bad, but not that good. Been looking for a Chinese to deliver as the old place we used went down hill. Satay skewers were over cooked and had a massive blob of solid sauce on some of them. Had chicken szechuan, thai sweet and sour and mushroom rice. Average overall. Not bad but nothing to get excited about, the search for a Chinese delivery continues

Freshly made dishes. Reasonable pricing. Large portion sizes. I thoroughly recommend you try this place out! Here's my recent experience: I ordered satay chicken skewers starter and beef with green peppers and black bean sauce as my main. The green peppers and onions in my main was fresh and of good quality. Beef pieces were thankfully non-fatty/lean and plenty. Skewer chicken tasted fresh - let down slightly by the overly salty satay sauce. Dishes were clearly handmade to order. Food portion size was large. Prices were quite good, mostly on the lower-end (takeaway is in a working-class area). Food hygiene rating for this takeaway is pretty high (4 out of 5) -- this is a good sign that the owners care and make an effort behind the scenes. Friendly receptionist who explained the takeaway's history. Family owned business run by very hard working first-generation Chinese family who run the place well.

I bought a take away for 4 as I had some guests a little while ago it wasn't very nice and quite stingy with the portions never been back since. In all fairness have had better meals from them In the past

Love this Chinese it's always been one of my favorites! Clean cooked food which is important as you can taste when oil hasn't been changed. I've never experienced that here a d the food is always hot. The phone lines get busy so we always go an order to take away. Much quicker than a 40-60 minuet wait when you eventually get through on the line. Busy is a good thing though, it means the food is awesome so don't let that put you off.i had the king prawns in batter with sweet sour sauce. I don't usually eat the whole back but they were sooooo dam tasty I did the whole bag plus a fried rice and always prawn crackers. Have a try you won't be disappointed. Have used this takeaway for years and have always had good food from them. They recently dropped off Just Eat so used some other local Chinese takeaways none of which stand up against New Sage.

Ive been here many times and had mixed experience. I always eat chicken curry. Sometimes its absolutely perfect, but other times the chicken has a rough texture and just feels old. Im eating it now and not happy at all.
