Generous George - Sunnyside in Northampton

There are teams in the English Premiership that have good players, great managers, they clearly have the potential to be European contenders ..... So, what's holding them back ? The stubborn, short sighted board that won't put their hands in their pockets to achieve the clubs true potential..... The Sunnyside is exactly like that and its screamingly obvious..... The overall atmosphere is off the planet, Courtney has bought excitement, vibrancy and too customer service to this too pub. His chef's are young but seriously excellent judging by the food i have week in week out... He has put together a young, fun vibration team that appeals very much to the client base and could bring in punters from further away ... THIS has the potential to be a team with European potential .... WHAT is stopping it from moving up a few gears .... There aee a few weak areas but this NOT a staff issue it's an investment issue.... Get your fingers out Marston. You've a Fantastic manager with a fantastic team .... Listen to Courtney.... Invest and reap the financial rewards .... Even so, bestest pub i know.....

Excellent food and great service. Even received a free drink from AJ as it was our 30th wedding anniversary and we came for dinner.

Staff at the sunnyside are very polite and goes out of there way to help if there's a problem and they are even really nice to the children that like to run in and out to the park everytime we go. Food is a very reasonable price and you get greated everytime you walk into the pub and even a thank you 😊 with a goodbye see you soon or next time when you leave.

I was down in Northampton for ttwo business meetings following a three hour drive ; I had set off early with a not very substantial breakfast. Luckily i had a decent gap between meetings so had adequate time for a spot of lunch in somewhere I had eaten in twice before ...or so I thought ! Didn't really need a menu as all I wanted was a burger/cheeseburger and chips and a drink . Ordered a pint of lager , the place was very quiet for the size of the place and as far as i could see there were plent of staff . as the lager is handed to me I ask about ordering some food , only to be told that it will be at least an hour as they've just had a table of 15 place an order ??? my thoughts were if its gonna take an hour to cater for 15 people what would happen if the place were full ? considering that there are over 40 tables and a decent size car park ? very disappointed so I had to rush my drink and make may way to Greggs about a mile away .... I think you really need to up your game .

Once again had a fantastic time , food was lovely and reasonably priced. Bar staff AJ is amazing!! Such a lovely person and very professional & polite. kitchen staff did great with the food considering there was a big group booking of 25! Thanks again guys wouldn't go anywhere else<3

A platoon of mods turned up on Mobeds. I ate Sausage and mash and spoke to my Wife for ages on the telephone

Everything was good but the batter on the fish wasn’t crispy. Portions were good and lasagne was good.

We visited Sunnyside as a group of four for the second time. Food, service and atmosphere were all good. The staff are a very friendly bunch and live up to the name of the pub. Will definitely visit again soon. ☺

Amazing place and amazing staff

Went for a quiet catch up and ended up having a great time playing football in the beer garden and making some great memories. The staff were upbeat and the food was prepared in good time and the portions were decent, it is pub chain food so set realsitic expectations. Having had an issue with a neighbour to the pub the staff dealt with this quickly and efficiently. We shall indeed be back again and thank you for making this place feel so welcoming. Special shout-out to my serving BFF Jamie, best pint pulling, banter having guy in Sunnyside. See you all soon

2 stars purely for the guy behind bar who is a star,spoke to all in a personal level,however food,cleanliness is terrible don't get me wrong you get what you pay for and prices are reasonable but my wife's meal and mine both poorly presented and cooked,we both were very hungry and did our best to eat what we could,we left and ate elsewhere.please please please don't reply with a generic response just improve

Was a sunday ride on my motorcycle. Stoped for a pint . Got the sunday dinner as the menu looked such good value. After a really good qwalty beer . Followed by a qwalty sunday dinner . I now have this pub locked in my top pubs to stop on a sunday .. even more surprised when i went outside to a massive beer gardan . 10./ 10 from me ..

Service was brilliant, such friendly staff, food all at the same time for all 10 of us. Children and adults all loved their food. Food was tasty and desserts were fantastic. Sophie was brilliant. The tables were a little sticky and bins outside needed emptying when walking in.

I visited the Sunnyside pub at the start of the week with my sister, daughter & nephew. After nearly an hour wait for our food although it was not busy, we were shocked at the state of our meals. Our starter was horrific. What was supposed to be chicken drizzled in bbq sauce topped with rocket, was burnt chicken with bbq sauce sachets left on top. The halloumi baguette came out as a hot dog roll, with no maple sauce as stated on the menu. The children’s burger was dry, no lettuce, again as stated on the menu. The chips were cold on each meal. After getting no response to the email I sent, I would never recommend going here if you’re wanting somewhat nice food.

unless you are an unrealistic moron, who expects a pub serving grub to be a 5 star gaff, im sure the majority of people will see this great privately run pub/eatery to be more than good. The food is pretty varied and of good quality ingredients, helped greatly by the fact that the staff here can actually cook!.. We went last time ( of many) with a group of 10, we all ordered different things from the substantial menu from pizzas to mixed grill, pie and mash and scampi and chips. EVERYONE!!!!Was happy and that's no mean feat to achieve with my lot.lol. the younger two server's were excellent very polite and presentable, so much so I gave them £5 each tip for thier efforts also really good range of drinks on tap and bottles, wines and spirits too. all in all great quality and affordable. here here to the sunnyside I say and of course will be back again soon. thanks guys from the Miles / Baillie booking. keep up good work. also great large secure car park also child friendly but don't for one minute avoid it for that so much seating and snugs you can create your own ambience 9/ 10 wellv deserved

Courtney and Ali have gone above and beyond for my family today. My partner is 40 today and my dad is poorly and can't fet up stairs so the wonderful staff at generous george offered to do us a bbq at no cost other than the food that wad bought so my dad could be involved. Absolute wonderful people and I will be forever grateful for everything they have done for us as family. Well done courtney and ali xx

came for sunday lunch 8 in total for a birthday treat for my dad land lord is funny and welcomes you which is nice used to come up here quite regular as live near by and will start to come again more sunday lunch was v good had child portion was still too munch but did eat it as was hungry yes the wait was long but pub vv busy with food. we didnt mind waiting had time to chat and not being rushed oh land lord gave dad free birthday drink Bonus! please put more entertainment on a sat night its not far from home! lol

Staff were exceptionally friendly, kind and helpful, especially Eden (thank you) had a wait for food as they were particularly busy but nothing was too much trouble. Food was fresh and plentiful, and nicely put together. There happened to be a quiz on. Quiz night was great fun, free with plenty of prizes. (Even a loo roll) 😂😂😂 Nice warm welcome, good hot food and great staff. We will be back.

I had the hunter's chicken and I had to hunt for the chicken on my plate amongst the limp salad. I was asked if I would like any sauce? This never materialised. Also the table I sat at had not been cleaned. I only gave two stars as the pub building is attractive and the location is pleasant.

Great all round. The staff, 0% beers, good choice and the food was out standing. Pudding killed us off and wished we took the car

New management has made a massive difference to this place definitely a go to place for us now, keep up the good work guys

Shocking food spending £90 on food and 4 drinks. 2 mixed grills were stone cold Sausages were burnt Meats were cold. Hunters chicken was lukewarm at best. Fish and chips were the only thing that was hot along with the hunters chicken melt baguette Offered to redo it but would have to wait 30 mins but everyone else would had eaten by then so i was given a refund . Wouldnt recommended this place for food as it wasn't worth the time in waiting i can only recommend the fish and chips as that was the only thing that came out hot .

Came in with my family two days ago, service was amazing staff were wonderful and food was delicious! Couldn’t fault anyone working on that day a massive thumbs up to anyone who is looking for a good atmosphere and lovely pub grub! On the other hand Just a few minor faults, staff members were running around like crazy seemed like they were understaffed for how busy it was! Been in a few times now on different days and similar situations! It is not the only marstons establishment I have been in that has seemed this way either! But overall amazing!👏🏻👏🏻

We are so pleased we picked this venue for our children’s post communion gathering . The staff couldn’t do enough for us the play area inside and outside just perfect , and the buffet food was delicious. We had such an amazing day thank you SUNNYSIDE we will definitely be back.
